@countlessrealities sent; Learning that his undead housemate had no idea of what Christmas was had left Rick in a quite awkward spot. On one hand it had been very thoughtful from the other's part to get him a present anyway, but on the other it might have meant that holiday-themed gifts would have looked weird and confusing as fuck to the vampire.

In any case, it was too late to do something about it now. He had already gotten the other a gift and there was no time to change it. Hopefully, his alternate would still somewhat enjoy it, even if the references would be lost to him.

So, rolling his eyes at himself for having let the matter trouble him so much, he headed for the living room where his housemate spent most of his free time, when he wasn't working on one of his projects.

"W-Well, now I know that you don't...celebrate or know what the fuck Christmas is, b-but I didn't know that you didn't when I got you this thing," he started to rumble, without even a proper greeting, going to place his gift on the coffee table in front of the vampire. "S-So, take it anyway. C-Consider it a...I don't know, a show of gratitude? F-For letting me stay with you. O-Or whatever."

The present was a small glass dome, underneath which a small landscape had been recreated using different types of crystals. There were tiny snowflakes hanging from the top of the dome, the ground was made with white quartz to simulate snow and on it stood a snowman with a santa hat on hs head and a Christmas tree. The details were incredible and it was obviously a high quality, expensive item.

It wasn't just a decoration, though. Underneath it there was a light source that got reflected through the crystals, creating a soft glow all around. Perfect to be used as a night light.

"A-Also, I made you and the kid two small blood only black puddings. B-Before you ask, y-yours is made with human blood. I-I know how fuckin' picky you are."

Christmas was non-existent in the dimension that Rick resided in. With all of his years being alive, he never once celebrated or even knew it was a thing in other dimensions. He didn't know why exactly it wasn't, but he never really thought too hard on the matter.

As he sat there in the living room, he glued his eyes onto his alternate. Watching him with intrigue as to what would happen now.

He couldn't lie. It fascinated him that the mercenary could bring a whole new holiday along with him to this dimension. It was an opportunity to learn about something new and maybe do something different compared to the previous years.

Standing up, he took the present within his hand. He carefully looked at how much detail was put into it. The way the crystals mimicked the scenery so well. It was very pleasing to the eye. So much that he would put it right on top of the fireplace.

"I-I appreciate it a-and you, maybe next year you can teach us all about this Christmas so we can celebrate," He turned to look at the other properly. "Since y-you seem to enjoy it a-and I think Morty would too,"

If it meant that he got a present and some black pudding made out of human blood, he would want to celebrate Christmas every day.

"Th-Thanks, happy Christmas to you."

not all of them!!!! its rick, summer, and morty who are scene (scemo in summers case) :3 maybe also spacebeth??? havent decided yet sdjhkflhk but i know original beth had a really big scene/emo phase in her teens bc her mom and dad both had one, but shes kinda grown out of it during the show :P rick had too, but got back into it when summer and morty got into it :] and jerry is not/has never been scene jskajsakks. he keeps calling them 'emo' because he just doesnt get it </3

their color schemes are actually sorta meant to reflect that!! Rick, morty, and summer operate on a magenta/yellow/cyan color scheme <3 cyan for rick, yellow for morty, and magenta for summer!!

GLADLY!!!!! aughhgh im SO glad people want to know about them i wanted to talk about them so bad!!! i have 300 million ideas. Ill give you the highlights <3 and a couple old sketches!!! under the cut so i dont clutter the tag TOO much :p

I saw someone mention their dimensional code in the tags and that was not an accident!!!! i DID pick x33 JUST bc it looks like a cute little emoticon <333 it went through a bunch of variants before i landed on that one and it was the right choice i think

Rick x33 didnt LIVEE on the citadel but he did work there!! up until it was destroyed ofc :P he runs what is basically a knockoff hot topic called “Bloody Morty” (like bloody mary <3). 

The tagline for the bloody morty  is “Memento Morty” which is. also a pun skldfhksd. The phrase it comes from, Memento Mori, is “remember death” or “death remembers” in latin, which colloquially translates to “Don’t take anything for granted.” the pun is obviously just a play on words, but its also sort of a reminder to ricks on the citadel. It would mean “remember morty” or “morty remembers” or,,,, “Don’t take Morty for granted” :]

He is a terrible business man and WILL price everything based on how much he likes you personally. You’re a Morty who wandered in to buy something behind your Rick’s back? It’s on the house, don’t even worry about it. You’re a Rick who dragged his Morty in here by the arm after yelling at him outside? Fuck you. This single pin is now thirty dollars.

Flesh Curtains Era Rick x33 ALSO had very wild fashion. As did the whole band honestly. Back then, though, Rick used to dye his hair like once a week. It was always a new color. He would paint Squanchy’s fur/BP’s feathers with the dye, too, so they all had a fun new look for every show!! When he went blue, though, he switched brands, and didn’t notice until AFTER dying his hair/dying Squanchy and Bp’s fur/feathers, that this dye was made to last…forever. It BECOMES your natural hair color. You could shave your head and it would grow back blue. He could dye on top of it, but ever since then he’d pretty much exclusively stayed blue, and BP/Squanchy now have permanent dye patterns in their feathers and fur long after growing out of their Phases

Speaking of BP, Rick x33 has the same little badge on a necklace that BP has on his collar. I like to think he gave him that necklace at Blood Ridge <3

Rick also has a yellow locket! This is to match Morty’s teal felt heart on his chest. They’re wearing each others colors!

Morty’s earrings look like Fleeb!! :3 

Morty does a lot of graphic design work for the store, since he knows what Morty’s like and this store is mostly for them :P lots of “”cringey”” unlicensed merch for things like FNAF and Warrior Cats are in here :3

Morty also spends a lot of time watching/making AMV’s or edits and such <3 Even drawing!!

Morty is very social and gets along super well with other Morty’s :] He likes to hang around the citadel and make kandi and rainbow loom with all the friends he makes. You’ll run into a lot of Morty’s with ‘memento morty’ spelled out in beads on their bracelets. Its like his version of a ‘best friends’ necklace for every morty hes ever befriended!

Morty x33 is very well liked by other Morty’s on the Citadel. Most Morty’s like Rick x33 too!! Not true for other Rick’s though. If they don’t OUTRIGHT HATE rick x33, they probably at least think he’s annoying as fuck

There were some things that never changed, no matter how many times they went downhill, no matter how many horrifying, high-tech disasters happened. Jerry's iron will to make sure that the house was thoroughly decorated, both outside and inside, was one of them.

Not even the misadventure he had had after having been made "neutrally buoyant" by one of Rick's inventions had been able to put a dent in that habit, and that had been anything but a fun time.

The family had, by now, learnt to deal with it. Beth still worried that her husband would accidentally kill himself every time she saw him climbing on the roof to hang the lights, but she had stopped voicing her concerns and just went with the moves. Summer made sure to prepare a plan to avoid participating in whatever family activity Jerry had in mind and also any potential decorations-related mishaps. As for Rick, he handled it as he did with most things he couldn't give a rat's ass about: drinking and flipping the bird as a universal answer to any of his son-in-law's protests and offers.

Morty was the only one who hadn't developed a pre-made reaction to Jerry's antics, mostly because he didn't see a reason to do it. His father could be a pain, but indulging him from time to time, giving him the illusion of being respected and important, was a good way to prevent him from doing something stupid. Or even just from berating them too much.

However, as it often happened, the universe seemed to hellbent on proving to him how his choice not to take any precaution was going to come and bite him back on the ass, sooner or later. And this time it had decided to do it in a way the teen would have never expected.

After all, how was he supposed to anticipate that he would have ended up under one of the mistletoes with Clarissa of all people?

For the first couple of seconds, all that Morty could do was staring up at the plant, mouth again, as his mind blanked out, refusing to process what was happening. His little crush on the woman had faded as he had gotten to know her and grasped just how painfully complicated her relationship with Rick was...or so he had thought.

As it had just turned out, there was still a little bit of it, buried in the back of his mind, enough to make this chance encounter weird. Even if that was the last thing the teen wanted.

Oh geez, oh man, oh geez! Stop staring and do something!

His brain came back to life all of a sudden, thoughts flooding in too quickly and chaotically, which led him from gazing at the mistletoe with wide eye to looking at Clarissa with the very same, dumb expression. He should say something. Act cool, maybe crack a joke. Damn, even letting out a forced laugh or a scream would have been better than being frozen as he was.

His cheeks grew hot, in embarrassment, but something else was thrown into the mixture as a traitorous part of his mind suggested that, maybe, it wouldn't have been so bad if he had kissed her. Not anywhere that could be inappropriate, of course, but just to see if her body heat was truly has strong at it seemed to be whenever he was standing next to her.

Bad idea. It was such a bad, alluring idea. And Clarissa was just a little taller than Summer, which put her within his arm's reach.

His body moved almost on his own, before common sense could snap him out of the trance he had fallen into, and he found himself stepping closer, straining on his tiptoes so that he could plant a kiss on the woman's cheek.

And if he had a quick sniff at her hair before moving away, letting the smell of oil and gasoline fill his nostrils, he would have rather died than admitting it.

The moment he broke away, his face went even redder than it had before, as the full weight of what he had just done was dropped on him. Only one thought was left in his mind: run for your life.

"Oh g-geez, I think...R-Rick is calling for me! I-I really need to go and, uh, s-see what he wants. Y-You know how he is." He let out an awkward, forced chuckle. "S-So, uh, yeah, I...S-See you later!"

And with that he dashed past her, with the kind of agility he usually showed only when he was fleeing some bloodthirsty alien creature, all his usual clumsiness gone from his movements. He even managed to snatch the bottle of wine Jerry had meant to bring to Beth along the way, almost knocking the poor man over in his rush, before disappearing in the hall.

He would be hiding in Rick's room for a while. The time to get tipsy enough to be in the same room with Clarissa without wishing for the ground to swallow him.

Petal's angry voice filled the garage without a warning, so loud that it covered even the noise of the door being slammed open against the wall. Rick visibly jumped, taken completely off guard, and spun around in a hurry, more out of instinct than because he had chosen to.

In truth, he should have expected to have the Gem come finding him sooner or later. Once her memories had started to come back, she had been dazed and confused, too busy trying to make sense of it all to think about what had happened after her Rejuvenation, but obviously that wouldn't have lasted.

However, the scientist had thought that she would have taken at least a few days before recovering enough to storm in on him with all her fury. Obviously, he had made a gross miscalculation.

"H-Holy shit!" He yelped, moving away just in time to narrowly avoid the knife that was thrown at him. It seemed like Petal had no intention of playing around. It was pretty clear that her plan was to hurt him first and talk later.

Useless to say, he was definitely not on board with it.

"W-What the...Stop acting like a crazy bitch!" He exclaimed, activating his personal force field right before she charged on, jumping on him and slamming the blade over and over against the energy barrier. "W-Why the fuck are you so mad at me?! I-It was fully consensual! I-It's not my fault if the version of you w-who's unburdened by all that bullshit has better tastes t-than you do!"

As it was to be expected, those were the wrong words, because they only caused the pearl to shove him against the workbench with a growl, climb on him and resume her stabbing attempts.

"G-God fuckin' dammit!" Rick cursed, trying in vain to grab her hands to immobilise her.

Then his head whipped in the direction of the other occupant of the room. As much as he hated to admit it, he could have used a hand.

"M-Morty! What the fuck?! A-Are you just going to stand there an-and watch as she attempts to murder me?!" She wouldn't have been able to, but that wasn't the point. "G-Get her pink ass off me!"

From where he was standing, leaning against the wall near the door, arms crossed over his chest, Morty shook his head and shrugged. If Rick was hoping that he would bail him out when he had brought all that on himself, then he would be very, very disappointed.

"I-I've already one my part. I-I told you tha-that it was a bad idea, b-but you didn't listen to me. Y-You never do," he answered in a nonchalant tone, even if deep down he was feeling smug. Oh, sweet payback. "Y-You know, Rick, choices have consequences. Y-You always manage to avoid them or-or have others deal with them for you, so...M-Maybe it's about time you face them yourself."

The reply gained him a heated glare from the scientist, but the teen simply ignored it. He knew that Rick would have eventually tried to get back at him for how petty he was being, but by now he was used to dealing with that shit.

Besides, he had the feeling that Petal wouldn't stop being mad for a good while and both of them knew that Rick would have needed Morty to get through it. So, whatever the man would plan, couldn't have been too nasty, unless he was ready to end up being left alone to deal with a murderous, enraged Gem.

Ship Bias for Rick!

Let me start with saying that Rick is a fucking hoe so he'd fuck anyone who can consent. That's his type, for the most. Then he has some preferences, but honestly? As I said, he'd fuck pretty much anyone.

When it comes to canon, just as for Morty, I don't ship him with anyone. I do consider his past relationships with Diane, Unity and (one-sided) Birdperson important for his backstory, but I'm not really invested in any of them past the angst and the consequences it has brought into his present days.

So, once again as for Morty, my main ships for Rick have been built through RPs. He has a few more than Morty does, but if I had to pick my top dynamics, here they are:

Rick & Rick with @advnterccs: once again, YEAH, the selfcest ends up being my OTP. In all honesty, Rin and I weren't planning to have our Ricks becoming a couple, especially such a sappy one, especially since they started from truly disliking each other. We had expected them to become at most friends with benefits, but...look at them now. They are head over heels with each other and they have been for almost two years. DAMN.

Rick & Clarissa/Chance with @dynamoprotocol: Rick and Clarissa are one of the most delicious "friends with benefits to lovers to bitter exes to cautiously civil to friendly exes to lovers again" I've ever written. Clarissa (and Chance later) challenges Rick in a way that forces him to own up to all the shit he has pulled, even if he fights it till the very end. The two of them fell in each other's orbit when they were at their worst and then met again while they were on the mend. Theirs is a story of both mutual destruction and healing.

Rick & Fish with @imprvdente: Ah yeah, Rick's accidental ex-wife xD They started off butting heads at every chance they had, but ofc it turns out that it was UST all along, to the point that they end up getting drunk married at one point xD They are fuck buddies, for the most part, and then they also become close friends. Do they have feelings for each other? Are they on their way to catch them? Good question. For what they are concerned, they aren't planning to, but time will tell (also because in the polyship verse my Rick gets very jealous, and not just because Rin's Rick has a big crush / wants to date Fish).

RIck & Petal with @petalsxfallen: These two started off disliking each other and not getting along at all, and it took Petal losing her memories to get them to admit that, all in all, they don't hate each other that much and that they are sexually attracted to each other. Their whole dynamics is rooted in the friends with benefits trope and they honestly work amazingly as such. It's uncomplicated, it's fun, it helps with frustration and stress. Up to this day, they are both very contented with what they have.

A special mention goes to my two polyships (Rick & Clarissa & Rick and Rick & Fish & Rick), because they bring up some absolutely delicious angst, but also a chance for Rick to grow as a person.

Also, a second special mention goes to whatever the fuck my Rick is with some of @technodromes' muses (Krang, Subprime and Shredder), because it's hilarious. Idk what it is, but it's SO DAMN FUNNY x33
