I think one of the moments that really got me in that opening sequence of the OG team staring all shellshocked about Trini's death was Kimberly falling to her knees behind the others.
Like, it's a little detail, but to me it really emphasized the attention to detail that went into this special, where even if they didn't have Amy Jo Johnson there to play Kimberly, they still acknowledged that Trini was her best friend by her having that beat that didn't require Kimberly to say a word (at least from the audience's perspective), show that, even if the characters could only be there as played by stand-ins, there was still this acknowledgement of how they felt about the death of Trini.
I've seen things that claim to be a love letter or Valentine to the fans before and honestly end up missing the mark by continents (Star Trek Enterprise's "These are the Voyagers" comes to mind immediately, to say nothing of the hash that Mega Force ended up being made into...). Once and Always actually lived up to that.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always Trailer
It’s Morphin Time!
Netflix is releasing a Power Rangers reunion just in time for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ 30th Anniversary. Rita Repulsa has returned and vows to destroy the team before they even become Rangers. And she definitely means business as she’s already...well, spoilers in the trailer. Now a new teenager with attitude will have to take her place amongst the Rangers.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always stars David Yost (Billy / Blue Ranger), Walter Jones (Zack / Black Ranger), Karan Ashley (Aisha / Yellow Ranger), Catherine Sutherland (Kat / Pink Ranger), Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam / Green Ranger), Steve Cardenas (Rocky / Red Ranger), Richard Steven Horvitz (Alpha 5), Barbara Goodson (Rita Repula), and Charlie Kersh (Minh Kwan, Trini’s daughter). The special is written by Alwyn Dale and Becca Barnes. Charlie Haskell directs.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always hits Netflix on April 19, 2023.

Been a while since I've posted any of my commissions here, mostly due to the fact what I commission tends to be pretty NSFW and I don't wanna step on any new rules. But seeing how this isn't anything close to risque I felt it was a good piece to share.
This is a bit of a multilayered ref and tribute. As of this posting the 30th Anniversary Special for Power Rangers, Once and Always has premiered this week and I felt I should do something to pay tribute to the series I loved as a kid.
Fittingly it's not the only show from the 90's to get a revival as the Animaniacs are also wrapping up their final revival season this year. It had a lot of fun ideas, namely their brief stint as kick-ass anime characters. Not the first time they've done parodies like this, which were frequent in the 90's series. My favorite, of course, was their Power Rangers one, Super Strong Warner Siblings! Makes sense since this was as the HEIGHT of Power Rangers' impact on pop culture.
So as you can see, I got characters as they looked in their revival series dressed as the parody characters they played in their original series in tribute to the show they were parodying having their 30th Year Anniversary Special. My mind and reasoning is interesting to say the least. XD
Either way, I hope you all enjoy! :)
