The Sun: What is the history between Dior and the royal family?
December 12, 2023 || Born in 1905, Christian Dior, the fashion designer, climbed the ranks of several Parisian fashion houses before establishing his own establishment in 1946.
One of the early royal admirers of the designer was Princess Margaret, the sister of Queen Elizabeth II.
She became a client of the fashion house and one of Dior's most famous designs, the "Margaret Dress," was named after her.
Queen Elizabeth II also shared a close connection with Dior.
She appointed Doir to design her Coronation gown for the crowning ceremony in 1953.
The gown, famously called the "Hartnell Dress," was a collaboration between Dior and British couturier Sir Norman Hartnell.
Over the years, various royal family members have continued to wear Dior creations for public appearances.
Dior dressed Prince Harry for King Charles' coronation in May 2023 - as the royal forwent wearing a military uniform.
Shortly after the coronation ceremony, Dior took to its social media to reveal Kim Jones was the designer behind the suit.
"Tailoring fit for royalty. Dior is honoured to have dressed Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, for the coronation of King Charles III in a custom design by Kim Jones," the brand wrote on Instagram.
"Seen arriving at Westminster Abbey, gain an insight into the savoir-faire of his three-piece suit next," it added.
Why was it speculated that Meghan Markle would have a deal with Dior?
In June 2023, it was reported that Meghan was in talks about taking on a deal with Dior.
Following the cancellation of her Spotify podcast after just one season, there was widespread speculation that the Duchess of Sussex was poised for a new role with the French fashion house.
Meghan has worn Dior several times throughout her time as a working royal, including at the late Queen Elizabeth's funeral in September 2022.
However, sources close to the Royals said no contract had been inked.
Dior also expressed its surprise and confusion when the idea of a deal was initially brought up.
A source told the Telegraph: "The Duchess of Sussex is not in talks to sign a deal with Dior.
"There is no truth to the claims that she will partner with the French fashion house,"
A Dior insider said its team was "nonplussed as to how the story came about".
Who became 'the Duchess of Dior' in 2023?
Meghan lost out on the opportunity of a lucrative Dior job to a Kate Middleton actress.
It was revealed in November 2023, that Meg Bellamy, 21, who plays a young Kate Middleton in season six of the hit royal drama The Crown is to be the new face of Dior.
An insider told The Daily Mail: "They have been queuing up for Meg, she is playing the most famous woman in the world in a globally famous television drama, so many labels and brands want some of that.
"She is a total unknown, but she is being treated like Kate, an A-list princess."
What deals and contracts does Meghan Markle have?
After leaving the royal family and their royal duties, Prince Harry and Meghan vowed to become financially independent.
It was reported that the couple would support themselves through Prince Harry's $10 million inheritance from his mother, Princess Diana.
With the world eager to know their story, lucrative million-dollar deals started rolling in from AppleTV, Netflix, and Spotify.
The couple signed a deal with Netflix through their production company, Archewell Productions, with a hefty payment of $100 million for multiple projects.
They have since released one documentary, Harry and Meghan.
Their upcoming documentary series titled, Heart of Invictus, is in the works.
While their third documentary is to be shot in South Africa, the Sussexes are also planning to delve into the rom-com genre with the streaming giant
In June 2023, the couple made headlines when it was reported that their 25-million-dollar deal with Spotify had ended.
According to Rolling Stone, the couple would pay back a portion of their deal money and look for another company to produce podcasts with.
In a joint statement, they said: "Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together."
Royal biographer Tom Bower believes that the couple's "joint ventures are falling apart" and that Meghan is finding it difficult to sell her brand.
"They're beginning to taste the medicine that they handed out after the Oprah interview and they're finding it very very hard to keep their brand reputable," Bower told new magazine.
"They're constantly having to defend themselves and grasping at opportunities that don't exist anymore."

If Harry thought the world was rough, he is about to face the music. Their fans will side with Meghan. He could have gone after William alone and perhaps he would have had a chance , but to drag the kids? He will really know what it's like to be alone.
True, but post-divorce Harry can find Meghan 2.0 and essentially start this whole process all over again with a new American starlet who will develop her own rabid fan base and have her own publicity team to counteract Meghan’s. He can essentially reboot his brand because he can create a new “American Princess” storyline for the press by just inviting a new girl to Botswana and handing her a “Diana collection” diamond. Hollywood and the brands know that, which is why he still gets to wear Dior.
Meghan can’t do that. Hollywood and the brands know that too.

Per the OW interview transcript: “Harry: But that was right at the beginning, when she wasn’t going to get security, when members of my family were suggesting that she carries on acting, because there was not enough money to pay for her, and all this sort of stuff. Like, there was some real obvious signs before we even got married that this was going to be really hard.” So this whole drama wasn’t so much about a child that hadn’t been born yet and their looks (H&M are both pale and surprise! have two pale kids) or whether he/she would be titled, it was that Harry’s wife was furious SHE wasn’t going to get security and it was suggested she keep acting. That’s not what she signed up for. She can’t be Diana 2.0 and still be a mediocre actress that’s barely working (Suits was ending or she wanted to be written out). Isn’t it easier to try and get what you want for yourself if you try to claim your unborn child is being unfairly treated? I may be off here, but I think the crux of this debacle lies in Harry’s answer, it was less about the unborn child and more about Meghan not getting what she wanted/thought she deserved.
Oh yeah...plus I think this is around the time she found out the kids weren't going to get get titles until TQ died which really pissed her off...
Which is also the rumor behind the bridesmaid dress fitting fight.
Meghan is said to have been making fun of Charlotte in front of Jessica, with Catherine present, and Meghan made some comment like "This pudgy little brat is a Princess but my daughter won't be! Can you believe that!?"
Also, in the interview Meghan mentions that when they were quitting the BRF she "wrote" to the family begging them to not take security away from Harry...she was willing to sacrifice her and Archie but Harry needed his security...because then it would extend to her and Archie.

I have no problem with Meghan wanting to do this cooking show. I hope it works out for her. But if it’s true being a foodie is all she’s wanted since 2014, then why isn’t this the first thing she pitched and worked on after Megxit? But it isn’t. She spent 4 years dicking around being Diana 2.0 first.
Two things can be true at the same time. In Meghan's case, it's true that she's been obsessed with Diana, wanting to become Diana 2.0, since childhood, and it's also true that she's been a food-and-travel wannabe since at least her early 20s. Initially, manifesting a foodie gig was the more realistically attainable of the two, and Lord knows she tried (The Tig, her IG, Today Show segments, Top Chef Jr, Rachel Ray, Cory, referencing Bourdain ad nauseum, apple butter demos, etc). Then she met Harry through MA/Soho House, and suddenly her Diana fantasies came within reach, with Diana 2.0 far outranking foodie show in importance for her.
After Megxit (and even well before), Meghan tried her darndest to pull off the Diana 2.0 manifestation, but no one except Harry fell for it. No one bought into her American Princess Meghan Diana schtick. So she then was left with her old fallback, foodie/lifestyle brand, which is where she is now (with the caveat that wanting to do a cooking show and successfully doing a cooking show are two very different things).

Not surprised that she thinks she is the most famous woman in the world. She literally thought: no one knew anything about the BRF until she married Harry, she is the equivalent to Nelson Mandela, she is the REAL Princess, she is Diana 2.0. Both her and Harry suffer from the delusions of grandeur. She will be 84 in an old folks home and still be talking about that time people in Africa were dancing on the streets when she got married to Harry.

Netflix has shown us more proof that Meghan & Harry setup a private photo shoot near/in QEIIs private residence.
Skippy & friends, does this remind us of the rumor from December 2016 when M, then girlfriend, was allegedly caught taking unauthorized photos around private spaces at KP?
I find it interesting (and a bit satisfying) that Meghan is confirming all the "rumors" about her morally corrupt character & behavior: she sis it first through the interviews (tv and print), then via her spotify flopcast, and now through their so-called LIE-Flix docu-series.
This DL comment summed it up:
Tumblr media
We remember how angry they were at the BRF for their seemingly lackluster public response to their televised "chatfest of lies" with HARPO, "recollections may vary."
There is something Meghan desperately wants the BRF to do (besides prince & princess dolls) but they wont take the bait. Although she flaunts around as the Duchess of "Sussex," we all know she loathes the title (sus + sex). But just like she convinced her low IQ squaddies to embrace her "Brazen Hussey" title, she pretends to embrace "sussex." Historically speaking, Sussex has historical ties to the magna carta, so it is a fitting title for their union.
Her childhood goal was to become a "princess." She shopped multiple PR agencies who were tasked with developing a plan to make her Diana 2.0 in 2 years.
I believe she always wanted to drop Duchess and Sussex to become Prince & Princess. Now that Catherine has become THE Princess of Wales, it is even more important that she copy-kate.
I think the BRF should remain quiet as these 2 liars ("children of the corn") globally victimize themselves, but parliament must respond to their treason.

Show Helaena stans are so annoying they think that Helaena being an obessed about bugs and is walking talking spoiler is so complex and interesting lmaoo like talking randomly about prophecies is not a personality.
Sadly Helaena has become part of The Dead Ladies Club. The term was made for dead asoiaf ladies, which I will link here. But the way I personally use the term is: Women who died quickly in the story and have little to barely any personality - which gives room for headcanons and self insertation from the fandom
The thing I've seen from show Helaena fans is that lots of them are in denial about Helaena's role in canon; a big chunk has deluded themselves to believes she was alysanne 2.0, princess Diana and now with the show she happens to have some prophetic power.
I like Helaena. She's a tragic character who is not completely innocent but suffers through a horrible fate. Her purpose in the story was to birth her children and die. it may sounds terrible but that's part of the sad. it's okay. Fans can still write whatever stories they want about her.
But no, denial is strong and apparently some people think hotd writing is some too tier shit. You won't believe the amount of people I've seen claiming hotd s1 is better than GoT s1 💀

“Opponents who analyse Jordanian royals for years said and confirmed Prince Hussein's engagement to the saudi girl is forced not arranged but forced. Then i thought why they say that i looked deeper they have nothing to win in saying that they want their country to be free from corruption and especially from the royal family, they fear Saudi Arabia will interfere now. They said QR and KA needed deeper link with Saudi Arabia so they took a girl from that country for their son who didn't choose her 100% because if they have some troubles ,saudis will be there and a son or a daughter from them would seal the link forever. Also they said Prince Hussein met his fiancé 15 days before their engagement they rushed it because of constant critics after Princess Iman 's engagement to a non muslim and because of pressure from Saudi Arabia. Who thinks Prince Hussein will have a chance with them? The prince wasn't single too, this explain why he looks more than disgusted and shocked that day and since , no offense to the girl, but what they think? this forced marriage won't succeed it's a Charles and Diana 2.0 sadly and now there are constant revolts in Jordan. They have zero luck to even have a small chance to survive. Also jordanians make fun of the prince cause he can't choose a wife for himself how can he be a king and lead the country” - Submitted by Anonymous

I don’t understand what the rush is about the Edinburgh title, other than it gives the media something to write about. Just because William was made Prince of Wales so soon doesn’t mean the same will happen with everyone else, and Edward already has a title that he’s gotten on with for over 20 years. He can probably wait a little bit longer tbh.
Agreed.
I think Charles made William Prince of Wales immediately because it was absolutely essential that the public to stop associating HIM (Charles) as PoW and the easiest way to do that was to give it to William ASAP.
But honesty … the bigger factor in breaking the public association is actually probably Catherine because she gets so much more press than any other member of the family. Now there’s a Princess of Wales - and the incessant press coverage of The Princess of Wales - the King’s daughter-in-law - very easily breaks Charles’s association with his former title.
Also - I do think that making sure William and Catherine were The Walses ASAP also helps break some of that “Harry is “Diana’s son” and Meghan is Diana 2.0” BS. Having Catherine as The Princess of Wales says “no THIS is Diana 2.0 and she only has this title because WILLIAM is (also) Diana’s son”. And it solidified the whole “the Sussexes are not part of The Royal Family (just like they wanted), they’re relatives of The Royal Family.”

One of the downsides of living in Britain is that you get to become so tired of hearing Princess Diana being hailed as some kind of saint. Now, I'm not saying she was anything bad. I never knew her, so I can't judge her. But she was a human being from a highly privileged family, who married into a royal family and suffered tremendously for it. She didn't invent the aspirin nor was she known for donating millions to charity. She was known for reaching people, because she was charismatic. So, why hail her as a saint? Even the average English doesn't.
And then you get Harry and William constantly trying to follow in her footsteps and idolising her. Hey, nothing wrong with idolising your dead parent. I also lost a parent incredibly young and I do the same thing. Like Harry and William with Diana, I also view my late parent as the best person worldwide, an absolute saint and the embodiment of kindness and selflessness, who was taken far too soon. And like them, I wasted a portion of my life trying to be exactly like my parent in every single way. To do what I thought he might've done.
But here's what I came to realise. It's exhausting to constantly try to guess what your parent, when they died before you had time to properly know them as an adult and an "equal", would've done in each situation. It's exhausting to try to be like someone else. William seems to have finally embraced to be his own person, do his own thing, and if Diana would like it and be proud, good, and if not, sorry Di, but only William can know what it is like to be William.
Harry hasn't, and look what it's done to him. He's not trying to come up with his own unrelated agenda, follow his own aspirations and be a person of his own. The closest he came to that was through the Invictus Games, and now even they are criticising him. He spends his life living in the sadness of his mother's shadow, the memories, the trauma, refusing to move on, and, with Meghan, trying to be Diana 2.0. I honestly think that's part of what it makes him so unhappy.
I realised today that it's a bit as it happened to me for a bit. I put too much pressure on myself and on doing things my dad's way, and then being terrified I'd be disappointing him if I didn't manage. And then I had a revelation; what any good parent wants for their child is to be happy. To find what makes them happy, do it, enjoy life... Not to spend their lives stuck in a past trauma and a spiral of sad memories, trying to become that person who's gone so the world doesn't entirely lose them.
They're gone. We cannot know what they would've said or done, and it doesn't matter. It's our life. It's time to be us and do our thing. And if that parent loved you for real, they'll be happy whatever you do, so long as you're happy. But you can't be so stuck in death that you forget to live.

Sheer Coincidence: TW's friend sent book to Princess Catherine (but TW didn't know about the royals) by u/leafygreens
Sheer Coincidence: TW's friend sent book to Princess Catherine (but TW didn't know about the royals) TW has pretended several times now that, in essence, she never knew who Hazno was before trapping him. In the engagement interview she claimed, "I didn't know much about him" and in the mockumentary claimed, "I'd never looked up my husband online."This is likely to be false: TW was photographed in front of Buckingham Palace as a teen, has been claimed by a childhood friend to have the "Diana: Her True Story" book on her bookshelf, watched videos of Charles and Diana, and watched Diana's funeral which had her in tears. As an adult, TW wrote about "Princess Kate" on her blog and is photographed holding an US magazine with Catherine on the cover. In 2015, TW's bff Lindsay J. Roth wrote a book- believed to be based on TW's life- which Lindsay mailed Catherine a copy of:A fashion blog devoted to [TW]'s style first unearthed the old Tweet from Lindsay Roth’s account where the author tweeted a thank you note from the Duchess of Cambridge’s office after she sent her a copy of her debut novel. “The Duchess of Cambridge has asked me to thank you for your card of 19th October and for enclosing a copy of your book, What Pretty Girls Are Made Of,” the letter read. “Her Royal Highness was very touched that you should think of her in this way and sends you her best wishes.” The author captioned the Tweet at the time, “Thank you #KateMiddleton! You are what #prettyis. Can’t stop smiling!” The novel in question follows a fictional television star heroine as she juggles her love life, family, and careers – sound familiar? Many believe that the novel’s central character is based on the author’s long-term best friend...Almost like 'Meet Me at the Lake,' it is crazy how so many of TW's associates are authors who just so happen to end up writing books so similar to her. It seems like either LJR believed that Catherine would have an interest in a random person's book that is based on TW, whom few knew of at the time, or LJR was trying to bring TW to the RF's attention.Hazno still believes that the stars aligned and that's how they met.--------------Sources: "ROYALLY OBSESSED [TW]’s bridesmaid wrote a novel based on the ‘ambitious’ actress three years ago… and sent it to Kate Middleton" https://ift.tt/GvAVbEZ "broke down in tears when she watched Princess Diana’s funeral on TV and wanted to be ‘Diana 2.0’ claims royal biographer" https://ift.tt/t2g0mNT 'posed with a Kate Middleton magazine cover 5 years before saying having her own cover would be 'boastful' https://ift.tt/Rqkilb4 post link: https://ift.tt/0eRmryY author: leafygreens submitted: November 21, 2023 at 05:24PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

“Also, Diana was big into kids charities and Meghan wanted that connection as well. Plus, being all about the kids makes you seem like a good person and Meghan was in her Diana 2.0 phase.” She literally wanted to be the people’s princess!
Remember when people started calling Catherine "The Children's Princess" and a short while later Meghan did some event with kids and she had her Squad tweet that Meghan was "The Children's Princess???" yeah...

Do you also get dark energy and bad sensations when you do readings on Meghan?
Hi Nonny,
Yes, I do. Her energy is revolting - all dark and snarled up, and bristling with malice. This past week I have felt a heavy pressure pressing down on me from the Harkles, like the air before a storm. I have been waiting for it to break and while the podcast and the magazine article have brought some release, it is not over yet. Meghan is out to destroy everyone who has ever said something to which she took offense or who refused her something that she wanted, in my opinion. Whatever she does is going to be a cesspool of toxicity (podcast, more interviews, whatever else she has in mind). I think the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana's death has been a trigger in her mind, as she believes she is Diana 2.0, and she thinks it is the best time possible to capitalise on the link between her and Diana (the link exists only on her mind but she does not realise that).

I watched the Piers/Bower interview and something Bower said intrigued me. He called Meghan dominating/domineering, very clever, scheming, so on. All the horribleness aside, Meghan is actually a good study on how "fake it till you make it" can lead to incredible success. We know Meghan used/is using lessons from Diana to use and abuse the royal family for her own personal ambition - specifically, struggles with mental health, stalking by the media, and worldwide fame as a global humanitarian.
So what are the chances of someone else coming along in the next generation or two who uses Meghan's playbook to use the royal family for their own ambition? This would be more manipulation tactics (lovebombing and negging), excessive demands, and the commercialization or exploitation of royal status.
I think William would ensure his children are protected from the likes of that happening (the same way George VI protected his daughters and The Queen her children from a Wallis 2.0) but what happens when William is gone and the turmoil of a toxic relationship via a Meghan 2.0 threatens George's children? Charles failed to protect his sons from Wallis 2.0 (after all, what is megxit but the abdication of a prince?) so theoretically one could argue that conditions could be ripe for George's descendants to deal with a Meghan 2.0/Wallis 3.0.
Maybe not even one of the Cambridge children. It could be Archie and Lili growing up and wanting in, a viper of a staff member joining the household, or one of the cousins who are close to the Cambridges (reminiscent of the way Dave used Princess Beatrice for access to an elite status he wouldn't have otherwise achieved on his own).
Let me remind you, she has two children now, so she doesn't have to look far.
The apple doesnt fall from the tree.
