What are Kazuki and Rei’s Options? - Buddy Daddies - Episode 10 - SPOILERS!
Tumblr media
In Japan, same-sex couples cannot adopt children:
Tumblr media
Text:  Adoption and parenting Same-sex couples are not allowed to legally adopt in Japan. Lesbian couples and single women are unable to access IVF and artificial insemination.
(From the Wikipedia page on LGBT rights in Japan, which will be linked in the comments.)
Tumblr media
However, fostering children is currently an option for same-sex couples:
Now, in another sign of increasing acceptance of the LGBT+ community, it’s come to light that the city of Osaka has awarded foster care of a child to a same-sex male couple. While city administrators confirmed the couple’s foster parent status on April 5, 2017, the pair, consisting of one man in his 30s and another in his 40s, were approved as foster parents back in December of last year. Foster parent certification falls under the jurisdiction of local authorities, but Japan’s central Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare says that it has no previous record of a same-sex couple being awarded foster parent status, so the decision by Osaka appears to be the first of its kind in Japan. The Ministry also confirmed that its guidelines regarding foster parent selection make no specifications barring or giving preferential treatment to same-sex couples.
(Source: All About Japan - “Same-Sex Couples Can Now Be Foster Parents,” full article will be linked below in the comments.)
This is basically what we see Kazuki and Rei do, as of right now, with Miri. They foster her for a year, and she has returned back to her birth mother.
Tumblr media
Now, what will happen next is unknown. There are options like Miri never returning to them/staying with her mom, one or both of them dying, etc. etc., but we aren’t going to be looking at those possibilities right now. Let’s look at ones where Miri is a part of their lives.
If they want Miri back in their lives then Kazuki and Rei will have to take care of the Organization and their connection to it, and then find alternative jobs to support themselves. Buddy Daddies takes place in modern day Japan, that is the setting, and they are treating the situations as functioning within the framework of what can and cannot be done in modern day Japan, in regards to childrearing, childcare, and so forth.
Unless they go the route of having Kazuki forge paperwork to be her birth father, since they look very similar:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, this option would be a bit more convoluted. He couldn’t take on Miri’s birth father’s actual identity because he was a mafia boss and is currently, very much so, dead. But, they might be able to change it so that Miri would be Kazuki’s daughter. Then, Kazuki and Rei would be able to raise her, since she would be Kazuki’s birth child.
But, unless Misaki were to pass away due to her cancer (which is a possibility, especially since she mentioned that it was spreading), the end result would still be a blended family situation:
Tumblr media
Because even if Misaki had given Miri up for adoption or had abandoned her, the birth mother is still the legal guardian of their child. Unless the birth mother dies or goes completely MIA or the child isn’t put into the system at all (essentially just living on the streets), then there isn’t a way, in current Japanese society, for a birth mother to be completely divorced from their child.
That being said, blended families do exist in Japan, especially in the modern day when divorce, remarrying, and same-sex relationships being recognized are all becoming more common place. But, we rarely see blended families being portrayed in anime (specifically, I’m sure there is some exploration of this found in manga), and certainly not at a central level of any kind (like with what we have been seeing with Buddy Daddies and how it has been centralizing its focus on childcare and childrearing).
Tumblr media
An blended family ending would still be just as queer and progressive as before. This sort of family dynamic would exist outside of the norm, and outside of the nuclear family expectation. The framing has been interesting too, because Miri’s mother is the one that essentially has to prove herself to both Kazuki and Rei and to Miri. She was brought back into the picture because it was the safer option for Miri at this moment, not just because she is Miri’s birth mother.
So I feel like, if a blended family situation does end up happening in the end, they won’t approach it in quite that way. Though, I also think that would be a point of contention at times (especially between Misaki and Kazuki) that wouldn’t be that uncommon for a blended family situation. Navigating issues like that is very common, I see my friends who are step-mothers and step-fathers have to navigate those waters often. If it were depicted in anime, even if it were for a brief bit (or in more depth if there were a second season and this is the route the series ultimately goes down), then that would be pretty neat.
Tumblr media
Something else to note is that when Misaki states: “If you consider yourselves her parents as well,” she uses the word “parents,” 親 (oya), not guardians, 保護者 (hogosha) or other similar/related words. 保護者 (hogosha) does mean parent, but in a more inclusive way that is also referencing legal guardians as well. But she is acknowledging them as parents, the same as her.
Of course, there are some who are weary and skeptical of the integrity of Misaki. I think she is talking honestly and sincerely here, along with the rest of the episode, but if she’s not, then what will happen to Miri is that she will likely go to live with her grandparents or, like I mentioned before, the series goes a bit more of a convoluted and complex route with making Kazuki’s Miri’s “birth” father through forgery and the like. Or, they break the more realistic boundaries they’ve been working within so far, and make it so that Kazuki and Rei can just magically adopt Miri, but given the “realistic” mentions in a lot of the interviews with Uchiyama and Toyonaga, I don’t think that is likely.
Tumblr media
If the series does go the route of having Miri go to live with her grandparents or mother and Kazuki and Rei aren’t brought into the family in a blended family way, but more so kept out (maybe with only the occasional visit or something). Then another possibility, especially if they do end up leaving the Oraganization and kind of “starting over” with new jobs and the like, is them becoming foster parents in general.
Tumblr media
Miri would be the first and the most precious one to them, but then they find a “normal happiness” with each other and become foster parents to other kids in the future. It would be a nice way to really show them changing right, in the sense of, instead of taking human lives, they would be caring for and fostering children - the future, and hopefully helping them turn out to be good people. That’s always a possibility, especially if there is some kind of large time skip in the last episode.
Of course, the series could instead go in the direction of criticizing the cruelty that same-sex couples cannot adopt and therefore are basically only left with the option of fostering, unless they have a blood-related child through natural means of birth. That is always a possibility as well, and is something that I feel they do kind of hit on a bit in Episode 10, especially with Rei’s line here:
Tumblr media
(Rei: “To say that after we’re all attached...it’s cruel.”)
But yeah, thinking about it, when it comes to positive outcomes, in the sense of Kazuki, Rei, and Miri living and Kazuki and Rei being able to escape the Organization, then I think the ending options are going to be one of the above. Everything in this post is pure speculation, since the series is anime original, we don’t know for sure what direction it will ultimately go in.
But these options here are the ones sticking out the most to me at the moment (once again, if we only look at potentially happy endings, rather than any potential overly tragic/bad end ones). It’s also possible that they may be critical of something (like with Rei’s words on the cruelty of it all), while also still painting an option, like Kazuki and Rei deciding to become foster parents, as something that is still an overall good and positive change for them, specifically.
I like there is a potential messiness to the situation and overall premise that is presented in Buddy Daddies, because it makes it feel like the series is properly exploring the realities of the situation and the options that are open and available to Kazuki and Rei. It’s bleak in some ways, hopeful in others, and I am intrigued by what direction they will ultimately go in.
As always, feel free to add your thoughts to this as well! :D I always love reading them! <3

every time i see the absolute wild takes ARAs put out, or the straight up misinformation used to make animal agri seem scarier or more cruel than it is, I wonder what could be done if those efforts were put towards actually picking out the real, non-fabricated flaws of the systems in place and pressuring them rather than this "to evil to exist" stuff that will never go anywhere. like how much real change is drowned out by "milk demons are adding spikes to cow noses so that their moms hate them"
Honestly sometimes I wonder if peta is secretly run by people who profit off of skimping on regs for animal agriculture. What if the main Mind behind peta is the CEO of Tyson chicken and he just promotes progressively more insane ARA takes and lies so common society doesn’t take any animal welfare movement seriously and they can continue abusing animals for profits.

what do you think the future of technology should be in a degrowth economy? what technologies do you think we should continue to pursue/prioritize? that article you just linked is behind a paywall but it got me thinking and i would be interested to hear your thoughts
Degrowth would democratize technology.
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from nature" according to sci-fi author Karl Shroeder.
And he's right. We're not advanced at all. And we're remarkably stagnant at the moment.
We use limited precious minerals to engineer identical unrepairable devices that break down at just the right time. That's what we're focused on.
The first iPhone came out in 2007. Think about that! That was 16 years ago! Every year car companies and gadget companies roll out a "new" model. And it's identical to the last model. But status and prestige and advertising are enough to convince people they need the newest thing. And that's good for profit margins.
Video games have all been the same for 15 years. Computers have been the same. Transportation has been the same. We're going nowhere because we're in the stage of late capitalism that hinders technological advancement.
I don't consider AI to be new technology because we've had neural networks for a decade.
And then there's food and biotechnology. We've had food-grade precision fermentation since 1990. This technology could replace the entire animal agriculture industry. But, that would provide too much food security and ecological welfare. Too much equality makes growth precarious.
Due to pressures around funding and publishing, all of science is a huge inefficient mess right now. If we restructure society and academia around democratized progress rather than profit-oriented progress, we can fix that mess.
In a degrowth future, rather than focusing on developing individual products, we'd develop community technology. And we'd gradually work to become indistinguishable from nature. It will take a few thousand years. But now is a good time to start.

so funny seeing right wingers discover what capitalism is and being opposed to it. I mean to say in the same way communists are, many American right wingers leaning towards libertarianism will say "hey, how come I'm making $16/hr on this job and my boss is making $200/hr for my labor?" the solution being, we all work for ourselves, we're all tradesmen and we all enjoy the fruits of our own labor. okay sure, on paper this sounds amazing, HOWEVER, you cannot be in favor of progress if you are opposed to capitalism. technological and social progress. the generally speaking great wealth and power of the United States only ever happened because of exploitation and capitalism. you need guys who do very little actual work investing money in other projects, expanding business, providing jobs etc. I'm not defending capitalism because I am also completely against progress. but the only way we could have a society of skilled workers who enjoy the fruits of their labor etc etc is in extremely small scale communities, which would be an extremely inefficient system if we are thinking in terms of social and technological progress.
also, let's be honest, most people do not have any kind of skill and have no desire to achieve a skill. most people are like animals in that they are content when there is a lack of physical suffering. they have no drive or will at all. what is to happen to them? should they starve? if we follow the principle of from each to each we would have probably at least a third of the population who have no desire to work and would only sit at home collecting rations (or whatever in a communist society). it could be argued in the soviet union or China "okay it's not great that we have to force all these people to work in factories but we are extremely underdeveloped and need to catch up with the west so for just a little while and then we can have real communism..." still this is not THE GOAL. but back to my point - then what do we have? exactly the same fucking thing in reverse! someone leeching off of you and making money off of your labor but without providing anything to the larger community. I think coercion to work is obviously a negative and unpleasant thing, but do you seriously think there is great fulfillment for the average dishwasher or sewage worker? these are unpleasant tasks that are only done because of CAPITALIST incentivization, and they NEED to be done in modern society. sure maybe a plumber or a cook or a blacksmith or whatever, a skilled laborer, is prevented today from reaching his full potential and when he can truly express himself and recieve the fruits of his labor properly then society will be fixed FOR HIM. but most people are not like this. even today in America welfare will guarantee you a quality of life that is MINIMAL, horrible for the western world especially in urban areas, but people will jump on it, why? because the labor they are coerced into doing is so unfulfilling, but this work is not only necessary for the functioning of a society but especially necessary for the PROSPERITY of a society like the United States. and in organized society the work now is much more unpleasant than ever before. in a natural setting it was maybe quite fun if tiring to gather firewood or plant seeds or whatever, and this was directly tied in with your life, but why should someone say "I'm going to go work sorting trash in a landfill just for fun." it's completely different, and maybe some people in theory really do care about society as a whole (I do not) but in reality only very small scale communities could compel the average person to give a fuck enough to do this unpleasant work. you see it. I don't want to clean up trash in the streets but I love my family and my neighbors and I want my community to look nice and be healthy. you see the results directly. but there is no real reason anyone with any sense would really be compelled to play some minute role in the production of something that would maybe better society but have no real impact on his life personally. ie capitalism AND communism, capitalism works because the capitalist will say "I don't care how you feel about it, you need to or you won't eat." the problem is not necessarily these two systems but MATERIALISM, LARGE SCALE SOCIETY, TECHNOLGY, AND PROGRESS.

By the 1890s, Jacobi's medical career had grown tremendously since her first years of practice in New York. She was now an established figure in the medical community, as seen in her membership and leadership positions in several societies. Although she resigned from teaching at the Woman's Medical College in 1889, she continued her clinical work at the New York Infirmary until 1897 and was a visiting physician at St. Mark's Hospital until 1902. Neurological studies dominated her medical research, as did her ongoing study of sex differences. She also continued to conduct and promote laboratory work, making the support and defense of vivisection a top priority in her political agenda.
"No physiological doctrine has ever been established without vivisection," Jacobi wrote definitively to the editor of The Century in 1890. Her belief in the value of live-subject experiments had not waned as the debate over vivisection intensified in the profession and the nation at large. Equating vivisection with medical expertise, Jacobi continued to defend the practice as "good medicine" and a necessary act of scientific investigation. She privileged the social organism over the animal organism, humans over animals, and stood by animal vivisection as fundamental for human survival. The practice of vivisection could both demonstrate the similarities between men and women as they worked side by side in the laboratory and reinforce the distance between humans and animals. If both sexes could manipulate and control animal life, women could show they had little biologically in common with the animal kingdom. To connect science with the advancement of women, Jacobi tried to undo constructions of vivisection as a brutal masculine activity.
Many animal welfare activists rejected the notion that live-subject experimentation would help women, or medicine for that matter, believing that vivisection represented unnecessary acts of human cruelty against the natural world. Politicized and mobilized, these activists provided a strong challenge to Jacobi and those who saw "progress" through the microscope and on the dissecting table. From different angles, antivivisectionists defined animal experimentation as unnecessary and used their gender identity to claim moral authority on the issue. Women, especially, claimed to know right from wrong, humane from inhumane. Projecting feminine ideals and moral superiority, they placed themselves in opposition to many men of medicine, who they claimed were willing to be brutal for the sake of scientific knowledge. From this perspective, Jacobi and other female experimenters were unwelcome anomalies who defied nature through acts of cruelty that violated Victorian notions of morality and womanhood.

2024 A Remarkable Year for Animal Rights in America
Several laws, policies, and campaigns made significant progress in advancing the welfare and protection of animals
By Craig A. Fine, Esq.
March 21, 2024
“The year 2024 is a remarkable one for animal rights in America, as several laws, policies, and campaigns made significant progress in advancing the welfare and protection of animals. From farm animals to wildlife, from research animals to companion animals, here are some of the highlights and challenges of the past year.” Said Craig A. Fine, Esq.
One of the biggest victories for farm animals in 2024 was the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to uphold California's Proposition 12, widely considered the world's strongest law for the protection of farm animals. The law bans the extreme confinement of mother pigs, hens, and calves in California, and also prohibits the sale of products from animals raised in such conditions in other states. The law, which was approved by voters in 2018, faced several legal challenges from the pork industry, but the Supreme Court rejected them in June 2024, paving the way for its full implementation https://www.humanesociety.org/blog/good-news-start-2024-these-laws-are-now-place-help-animals.
Another milestone for farm animals was the approval of cultivated meat by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in March 2024, making the U.S. the second country in the world to allow the sale of meat grown from animal cells, after Singapore. The approval was hailed by animal advocates as a breakthrough for reducing animal suffering and environmental impact, as well as meeting the growing demand for meat alternatives https://animalcharityevaluators.org/blog/victories-for-animals-in-2023-and-our-hopes-for-2024/.
However, not all news was positive for farm animals in 2024. Several states, such as Arkansas, Montana, and Oklahoma, passed or proposed bills that aimed to restrict or ban the labeling of plant-based and cultivated products as "meat", claiming that they were misleading or confusing for consumers. These bills were seen by many as attempts to protect the interests of the animal agriculture industry and stifle the innovation and competition of the alternative protein sector https://sentientmedia.org/important-laws-for-animals/.
Wildlife also received some attention and support in 2024, as several initiatives and actions sought to protect and conserve wild animals and their habitats. In April 2024, President Biden announced a new plan to conserve 30% of U.S. lands and waters by 2030, as part of his broader agenda to combat climate change and biodiversity loss. The plan, dubbed "America the Beautiful", involved collaboration among federal, state, local, tribal, and private stakeholders, and aimed to restore and enhance the natural resources and ecosystems that support wildlife and human well-being https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/article/new-animal-welfare-laws.
In July 2024, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that it would restore the endangered species status of gray wolves in the lower 48 states, reversing a controversial decision by the previous administration that removed federal protections for the animals in 2020. The agency cited new scientific evidence and public input that showed that gray wolves still faced significant threats from habitat loss, poaching, and conflicts with humans and livestock. The agency also pledged to work with state and tribal authorities to ensure the long-term recovery and management of the species.
However, wildlife also faced some challenges and threats in 2024, especially from the illegal trade and exploitation of wild animals and their parts. In September 2024, a major undercover investigation by the Humane Society International revealed the shocking scale and cruelty of the U.S. trophy hunting industry, which involved the killing of thousands of exotic animals, such as lions, tigers, bears, and zebras, in fenced enclosures for sport and entertainment. The investigation also exposed the loopholes and lack of oversight that allowed the import and export of trophies, skins, bones, and other products from these animals, fueling the global wildlife trafficking network.
Research animals also saw some progress and hope in 2024, as several laws and policies aimed to reduce or replace the use of animals in scientific experiments and testing. In January 2024, a first-of-its-kind law in Maryland required animal research facilities in the state to pay into a Human Relevant Research Fund, which provided grants to scientists working to develop non-animal methods, such as human organoids and computer models. The law, which was supported by animal rights groups and medical experts, was expected to save millions of animals from suffering and death, and also improve the quality and relevance of biomedical research.
In February 2024, Michigan became the 16th state to enact a law that ensured dogs and cats used in research facilities were given the opportunity to be adopted after their time in research had ended. The law, named "Teddy's Law" after a beagle who was rescued from a testing facility in 2019, was welcomed by animal advocates and rescue groups, who said that it gave a second chance to animals who had endured pain and trauma in the name of science.
However, research animals also faced some challenges and barriers in 2024, especially from the resistance and inertia of some institutions and industries that relied on animal testing. In October 2024, a coalition of animal rights groups filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, alleging that the agency violated federal law by requiring unnecessary and cruel animal tests for COVID-19 vaccines and treatments. The groups claimed that the agency ignored the availability and validity of alternative methods that did not involve animals and that it wasted time, money, and lives in the process.
Companion animals also received some attention and support in 2024, as several initiatives and actions sought to improve the welfare and protection of pets and their owners. In March 2024, New York became the first state to ban the sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in pet stores, to crack down on the puppy mill industry and to promote adoption from shelters and rescues. The law, which was applauded by animal advocates and humane societies, also provided financial assistance and incentives to pet stores that transitioned to a humane business model.
In June 2024, California passed a landmark law that required landlords to allow tenants to keep at least one pet in their rental units, as long as they paid a reasonable pet deposit and complied with the health and safety rules. The law, which was supported by animal welfare groups and housing advocates, aimed to prevent the discrimination and eviction of pet owners, and also reduce the number of animals surrendered to shelters due to housing issues.
However, companion animals also faced some challenges and threats in 2024, especially from the abuse and neglect of irresponsible or malicious owners. In August 2024, a nationwide investigation by the ASPCA revealed the shocking extent and severity of animal hoarding in the U.S., which involved the accumulation of large numbers of animals in unsanitary and overcrowded conditions. The investigation also exposed the lack of awareness and resources to address this complex and hidden problem, which affected the health and well-being of both animals and humans.
The year 2024 was a remarkable one for animal rights in America, as several laws, policies, and campaigns made significant progress in advancing the welfare and protection of animals. However, the year also showed that there were still many challenges and obstacles to overcome and that there was still much work to be done to achieve a more humane and compassionate world for all animals. As we approach 2025, we hope that the animal rights movement will continue to grow and succeed and that more people will join us in this noble and urgent cause.

From Policy to Practice: Corporate Social Responsibility in Animal Welfare Governance
Tumblr media
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has evolved significantly in recent years, extending beyond traditional philanthropy to encompass broader societal and environmental concerns. One area where CSR has made a notable impact is in animal welfare governance. The shift from policy to practice in this domain reflects a growing recognition of the interconnectedness between business operations, animal welfare, and sustainable development.
At its core, CSR in animal welfare governance entails a commitment by businesses to uphold ethical standards, promote animal well-being, and minimize negative impacts on animals throughout their operations and supply chains. This holistic approach goes beyond compliance with regulations and addresses moral, ethical, and sustainability considerations.
First and foremost, effective CSR in animal welfare governance requires the integration of animal welfare principles into corporate policies and strategies. This involves adopting codes of conduct, policies, and guidelines that prioritize animal welfare across all business activities. For example, companies may establish animal welfare committees, conduct regular audits, and implement best practices endorsed by relevant stakeholders and industry experts.
Translating these policies into practice involves practical initiatives and investments that demonstrate a company’s commitment to animal welfare. This can range from implementing humane treatment standards in livestock farming and ensuring responsible sourcing of animal-derived products to supporting animal rescue and conservation initiatives. For instance, companies in the food and beverage sector may invest in sustainable sourcing practices, animal welfare certifications, and public awareness campaigns on responsible consumption.
Collaboration and partnerships play a pivotal role in advancing CSR in animal welfare organizations governance. Businesses often collaborate with animal welfare organizations, industry peers, academia, and government agencies to share knowledge, leverage expertise, and drive collective action. These partnerships facilitate knowledge exchange, research collaborations, capacity building, and advocacy efforts aimed at improving animal welfare standards and practices industry-wide.
Moreover, transparency and accountability are key pillars of effective CSR in animal welfare governance. Companies are expected to disclose relevant information about their animal welfare policies, performance, and initiatives to stakeholders, including investors, consumers, regulators, and civil society organizations. Transparent reporting enables stakeholders to assess a company’s commitments, track progress, and hold it accountable for its impact on animal welfare.
Importantly, CSR in grants for animal welfare organizations governance aligns with broader sustainability goals, including environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and ethical business practices. By integrating animal welfare considerations into their CSR strategies, businesses contribute to a more ethical and sustainable future, enhance brand reputation, mitigate risks, and create value for stakeholders and society at large.
In conclusion, the transition from policy to practice in corporate social responsibility for animal welfare governance signifies a paradigm shift towards responsible and ethical business conduct. By embracing CSR principles, businesses can play a vital role in promoting positive outcomes for animals, fostering sustainable practices, and contributing to a more compassionate and harmonious relationship between humans and the animal kingdom.

🌺"Live like a human being"🌺
☘️🌹☘️🌹☘️🌹☘️🌹☘️🌹
👉There are three types of humans in the world. The best men of first-class are those who continuously engage in the welfare of the creature by consisting of their personal interests, i.e. combining their own interests with the interests of others. Second-class men are those who are engaged in charity of social welfare while gathering resources to meet their individual family needs. The third class vile men are those who choke others for their own interests and do not hesitate to adopt disgusting acts of lies, deceit, dishonesty, bribe etc. They don't pay attention to the harms of others. They can get down on doing mean to mean things for their selfishness. Their life goal is to make worldly progress by pushing conscience in the furnace. Such humans are counted as animal category.
👉Man is the one who lives for man. He who lives only for himself, thinks for himself, cooks only for himself, is an animal, a thief, not a human being.
👉The identity of moving from animal to humanity and godliness is that how far it has mixed his own interests with the interests of society.
👉The meaning of a man's life lies in that he continues to strive for personal growth as well as the development of others throughout his life.

Why does Denny Ja challenge the interpretation of the understanding of traditional religion?
Why does Denny Ja challenge the interpretation of the understanding of traditional religion?
Introduction: In recent years, Denny Ja has become one of the intellectual figures who often challenges the interpretation of the understanding of traditional religion in Indonesia. By using social media platforms and various opportunities in public discussions, Denny JA has raised important and controversial questions about the roles and influences of traditional religion in people's lives. This article will explore why Denny JA chose to challenge the interpretation of the understanding of traditional religion, as well as its impact and implications for the community. Understanding Traditional Religious Understanding: Before discussing why Denny JA challenges the interpretation of the understanding of traditional religion, it is important to first understand what is meant by the understanding of traditional religion. The understanding of traditional religion is the interpretation and understanding of religion which is based on beliefs and practices that have existed since ancient times. This understanding is often rooted in local culture and values, and inherited from generation to generation. Although world religions have more formal teachings, the understanding of traditional religions often has different interpretations and further accommodating local beliefs. Denny Ja's Challenge for Traditional Religious Understanding: Denny Ja has openly challenged the interpretation of the understanding of traditional religion for strong reasons. One of the main reasons is that the understanding of traditional religion often maintains practices that are not in accordance with universal human values. For example, in some traditional religious traditions, there are still practices such as animal sacrifice or magical practices that violate the principles of ethics and animal welfare. In addition, Denny Ja also emphasized that the understanding of traditional religion can be a barrier to social and science development. Some traditional religious traditions may tend to maintain views that hamper progress in science and technology. Denny Ja argues that to achieve a more advanced society, we need to question and adjust the interpretation of the understanding of traditional religion with the times. Impact and Implications: Denny Ja's challenges on the interpretation of the understanding of traditional religion not only affect society in general, but also in religious institutions and traditional religious leaders. Some religious institutions may feel threatened by changes in interpretation and understanding of religion that are challenged by Denny Ja. However, this challenge also provides an opportunity to renew and reflect the teaching of traditional religion to be more relevant to the needs of today. In addition, Denny Ja's challenges also inspire broader discussions and reflections on the role of religion in people's lives. Many people are starting to question the practice and interpretation of traditional religion, looking for a more rational and humanistic understanding. This can affect the ways we look at religion and build relationships with others. Conclusion: Denny Ja has challenged the interpretation of the understanding of traditional religion for strong and meaningful reasons. This challenge provides an opportunity to reflect the meaning and role of religion in people's lives. Although this challenge can lead to tension and debate, this also opens the way for religious life that is more inclusive, rational, and in accordance with the times. We need to recognize that the diversity of religions in Indonesia is a necessity, and with an open and mutual respect for mutual dialogue, we can achieve a better understanding of religion and build a more harmonious and just society.

It's Good To Be a Pet
New Post has been published on https://bestnaturalpetfoodstore.com/its-good-to-be-a-pet/
It's Good To Be a Pet
Did you know that there are more than 140 million pet cats and dogs in the U.S.?  With a population of 330 million that means that almost one out of every 2 Americans has a cat or dog as a pet.  Americans now spend more on pets than they do on children (food, toys, care etc), we really take care of our pets.
Treating Pets With Dignity
We have all heard the saying “it’s a dog’s life”, but it probably does not mean what it used to.  Animals of all types are now protected by state and federal laws, and many have been granted certain rights that help protect and keep them safe.  In addition, many people are closer with their pets than in the recent past, with a large number saying that they consider their animals to be an important part of the family. Some may find it hard to believe that a day in the life of a pet may entail visiting a spa or pet salon for some pampering.  Pets being carried around in a designer bag or wearing a jewel-encrusted collar are common sites, images that our grandparents would look upon with confusion.
Does this seem far-fetched or unbelievable?   It shouldn’t if you have paid attention to social media.  Some studies have shown that dog owners say they spent more than $263 on their four-footed friends in the past 12 months (not including food expenses). In other words, their dogs get over $20 per month in toys and treats (or puppy spa days).  Cat owners spent more than $100, apparently cats don’t need as many toys each month.
Animal Welfare Groups
A key reason for this noticeable improvement in animal’s quality of life is due to animal welfare organizations such as the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).  This group, along with other animal advocates, have worked to change the way people think about and treat animals, whether they are pets or not. Celebrating its 153rd anniversary this year, the ASPCA is the oldest animal welfare organization in the Western Hemisphere. They will mark their anniversary with a yearlong celebration highlighting the progress it has made for animals since it was founded by a New York City socialite in 1866.
To help celebrate their long history, the group is launching what it calls its most aggressive initiative to date.  It is working city by city to turn the United States into one “Humane Community.” The program is designed to bring community organizations together to help ensure that no adoptable companion animal is euthanized for reasons other than behavior or medical issues.  Many local rescue groups have joined this effort to stop puppy mills, end euthanasia at shelters and create adaption programs.
The new initiative includes increasing the demand for adoptable shelter animals, while at the same time reducing the number of unwanted litters being born. Additionally, the association’s “Meet-Your-Match” program is being revamped and will more effectively pair new pet owners with shelter dogs and cats. The group plans to expand its Humane Law Enforcement Department as well, allowing for more investigations and arrests for animal cruelty.  Sometimes the groups have worked with cities to ban pet sales in stores (the animals usually come from unlicensed puppy mills) and to work with area breeders to make sure that pets are placed in safe homes.
Quite a difference from the days of farm dogs being used to herd cattle and barn cats used to keep the mouse population down.  Luckily as the number of pets grow there is an increase in awareness of how to keep a pet happy and healthy.

From Protests to Progress: The Evolution of Animal Rights NGO
In a world where compassion for all living beings is gaining momentum, animal rights NGO have emerged as powerful catalysts for change. These organizations have transitioned from grassroots protests to driving significant progress in animal welfare. With a mission to advocate for animal rights and ethical treatment, they have evolved into dynamic forces of change, leveraging their influence to reshape policies, attitudes, and societies.
The Rise of Animal Rights NGOs: A Historical Perspective
The main roots of the modern animal rights movement trace back to the mid-20th century. Concerned individuals and passionate activists began organizing protests and demonstrations against various forms of animal cruelty. As these movements gained momentum, so did the need for organized efforts. This led to the birth of these NGOs, entities wholly dedicated to championing the cause.
Early Challenges and Milestones
In their infancy, animal rights NGO faced challenges ranging from a lack of public awareness to resistance from industries that exploited animals. However, their persistence and unwavering commitment to their mission gradually began to bear fruit. As public sentiment shifted towards empathy for animals, these organizations became instrumental in shedding light on the brutalities animals face in various sectors.
Transitioning from Protests to Advocacy
As these NGOs gained recognition, their strategies evolved beyond just protests. They delved into advocacy, lobbying, and legal action, effectively targeting systemic issues. Engaging with policymakers and leveraging public support initiated a paradigm shift in how governments and institutions approached animal welfare.
Wildlife SOS: A Case Study in Action
One shining example of an animal rights NGO effecting change is Wildlife SOS. This India-based organization focuses on wildlife conservation and rescue, tackling issues related to habitat destruction, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict. Their efforts have saved countless animals and raised awareness about protecting these creatures for future generations.
Collaboration and Networking: Strength in Unity
These NGOs realized that the power to effect lasting change lay in collaboration and networking. They formed coalitions, partnerships, and alliances that amplified their impact. This united front enabled them to reach wider audiences, pool resources, and synchronize efforts for more substantial results. Together, they became a formidable force against animal cruelty.
The Role of Animal Welfare Organizations
Animal welfare organizations, often working in tandem with animal rights NGO, play a pivotal role in promoting the well-being of animals. While focusing on broader policy changes, these organizations provide immediate assistance, shelter, and medical care to needy animals. The synergy between these two types of organizations has significantly enhanced the overall impact of the movement.
Technology and the Digital Age
In the 21st century, the proliferation of technology has provided these NGOs with new tools for advocacy. Social media platforms have become virtual megaphones, enabling these organizations to reach a global audience in real-time. Online campaigns, petitions, and viral videos have brought attention to pressing issues, generating widespread public support and pressure for change.
Against Animal Cruelty: A Unifying Cause
The fight against animal cruelty has become a unifying cause, transcending cultural, geographical, and ideological differences. These NGOs have tapped into this shared moral compass, leveraging it to garner widespread campaign support. The convergence of voices against cruelty has resulted in policy reforms, bans on practices like animal testing, and increased scrutiny of industries that exploit animals for profit.
Education and Empathy Building
Animal rights NGO recognize that long-term change requires a shift in societal attitudes. Thus, they have invested heavily in education and empathy-building initiatives. By fostering understanding and compassion towards animals, they aim to create a world where ethical treatment of animals is a fundamental value. Schools, workshops, and interactive programs are all tools in their arsenal to cultivate a more compassionate future.
The Road Ahead: Sustaining Momentum
The journey is not without its challenges. As they continue to push for progress, they face opposition from industries vested in practices that exploit animals. Overcoming deep-rooted economic interests and cultural norms requires strategic thinking, unwavering determination, and adaptive approaches. However, the resilience exhibited by these organizations has proven that change is not only possible but inevitable.
The global nature of their work presents another dimension of complexity. Different regions face distinct issues related to animal rights, necessitating tailored strategies and solutions. These NGOs have become adept at navigating this diversity, respecting cultural nuances while advocating for universal ethical standards.
One of the remarkable shifts in recent years is the mainstream adoption of cruelty-free practices. The demand for products free from animal testing and sourced ethically has pushed industries to reevaluate their methods. This shift can be attributed, in part, to the tireless advocacy of these NGOs and their ability to influence consumer behavior through education and awareness campaigns.
While progress has been significant, the fight for animal rights is ongoing. Stricter regulations, increased transparency, and continuous education remain key factors in sustaining the momentum. Collaborations between these NGOs, scientific communities, governments, and industries are essential to balance ethical treatment and economic viability.
Conclusion
The evolution of animal rights NGO from protesting grassroots movements to formidable agents of progress has been a remarkable journey. Their impact extends beyond saving individual animals; they drive systemic changes that reshape societies and policies. Through collaboration, advocacy, and the innovative use of technology, these organizations propel us toward a world where animals are treated with the respect and kindness they deserve. As we continue to support initiatives like Wildlife SOS, stand alongside animal welfare organizations, and unite against animal cruelty, we contribute to a future where compassion reigns supreme.
By acknowledging the importance of these organizations and standing against cruelty, we contribute to a world where animals are treated with the respect and consideration they deserve. The journey may be long, but with the evolution of these NGOs as our guide, the path ahead is illuminated by hope, progress, and a brighter tomorrow.

Low key so embarrassed at times to be a Pakistani when it comes to fandoms. I — for better or for worse — have been in several different fandoms that span the world, yo. MCU, Harry Potter, K dramas, J dramas, K-pop, Turkish dramas, Bridgerton, anime… literally everything.
I have never seen this mentality of fans trying to dictate who an actor can or cannot work with, and I thought I had seen pretty much everything. I mean when youre as big of a BTS fan as me, you legit think you’ve seen it all when it comes to toxicity, but once again pakistan unpleasantly surprises me.
Plus, with pretty much zero exception to this rule, it is always the female in the situation who is blamed for working with an actor which is their job, regardless of if the female is part of the hit pairing or the kebab mein haddi. The Maya and wahaj thing is recent, but it was the exact same with sajal and Ahad. Fawad and Mahira. Ayeza and Imran Abbas for a while. To some extent, mawra and Ameer Gillani, and the two leads from fairy tale whose names i can’t ever remember.
Where does this come from in pakistan? What is it about our culture that makes people think this is acceptable? Can you tell me if you’ve seen it anywhere else aside from Pakistanis? I legit don’t even see Indian/hardcore Bollywood fans say this type of stuff about their faves. A part of me is wondering if it’s the same subset of people who think telling an actor their clothing is acceptable or not is saying these things and that’s where the entitlement comes from, but I don’t want to falsely accuse the deen of something if there’s another cause.
ps you should check out “the glory” K drama on Netflix. I think you’d like it.
one word: misogyny.
it's a misogynist society and a frustrated society. there's no welfare for the people. economy is shit. the political state of the country is shit. there's literally no security of future here. things get progressively worse and worse for the people who are living here on monthly wages, God only knows how the people surviving on daily wages are faring. no one is having it "good" here except for a very very VERY select few. and there's no way of showing that frustration for many people. social media gives people an anonymity to channel their frustrations in different ways. kisi deewar pe toh sar phodna hi hai.
btw, I disagree that Pakistani fandoms are so worse of the lot. this story is the same everywhere. the only reason why it looks bigger here is because compared to other fandoms, by quantity, Pakistani fandom is smaller. it's like a small town where everyone knows everyone. there's no escaping the trash at the side of the road cuz everyone is using the same road to travel. while other fandoms like kpop for instances can still allow fans the make their own safe circles away from the negativity and still manage to enjoy the feel of a large community. itna toh main likh ke de sakti hoon that by no comparison is Pakistani fandom worse than the stuff kpop fans, specifically armies, pull out. it's all about where you are getting your news from.
twitter is just ONE of the platforms where fandoms exist. before the monopoly of social media came into place, we had multiple platforms which housed fandoms. idk if you have interacted with fandoms at different places. for me, the tumblr fandom culture largely shaped how i interact with the media (a mix of meta analysis+edits). the twitter side of fandom interacts with media different. Indiaforums had a very different way of interacting with media. soompi and dramabeans were where I went for kdrama side of fandom. we also have reddit which is a completely different beast. and these are just English speaking platforms. the local Korean/Chinese/Japanese platforms which remain the biggest and most influential communities for the East Asian media content have a culture that outsiders simply cannot understand no matter how good the translating account is.
so yeah, yes Pakistani fandoms have problem. but which fandom doesn't? the general rule of "mute and block and be vigilant in maintaining a timeline that caters to only your interest!" applies here as well as to every fandom ever. ignore the shit takes and the negativity the best you can; they only exist to sour your personal good time here.
(i LOVEEEEEEEEEE The Glory. i showed my love for it decently enough on twt back when both the parts dropped)

The Ripple Effect of Caring for Animals: A Pathway to a Better World
The world we inhabit is a shared space, not only among humans but also with countless other living beings. In their diverse forms, animals are an integral part of our global community. Caring for animals is not just a noble endeavor but imperative for fostering a more compassionate, ethical, and sustainable world. In this article, we explore the multifaceted reasons why caring for animals holds immense importance and how our actions towards them can create a positive ripple effect reverberating through society and the environment.
Compassion and Empathy
Caring for animals begins with empathy, the ability to understand and share the feelings of another being. We cultivate empathy as a core value by extending compassion toward animals, translating into our relationships with fellow humans. Nurturing hearts from an early age fosters a kinder and more understanding society, creating a positive ripple effect in our interactions.
An Ethical Imperative
Ethics play a central role in defining our actions and beliefs. The treatment of animals raises profound ethical questions about our responsibility towards other sentient beings. Treating animals with respect and care affirms our commitment to living ethically, acknowledging that all creatures deserve compassion and consideration.
Conservation of Biodiversity
Our planet's ecosystems thrive on biodiversity, where each species uniquely maintains ecological balance. When we care for animals, we actively contribute to conserving biodiversity, ensuring that ecosystems remain robust and resilient. Preserving biodiversity is crucial for combating environmental threats and safeguarding Earth's delicate web of life.
Environmental Impact
Caring for animals involves recognizing the environmental impact of our actions. Sustainable practices in animal agriculture, wildlife conservation, and habitat protection are essential for reducing our ecological footprint. By adopting environmentally friendly approaches, we move towards a greener and more sustainable future, benefiting animals and humans.
The Human-Animal Bond
The bond between humans and animals is a source of immense joy and comfort. Pets, for instance, offer companionship, reduce stress, and improve overall mental health. Caring for animals strengthens these bonds, enhancing our well-being and enriching our lives through meaningful connections.
Advancing Science and Medicine
Throughout history, animals have been crucial in scientific and medical research. Studies on animals have led to groundbreaking discoveries and medical advancements, saving countless human lives. By supporting ethical and responsible research practices, we ensure that scientific progress is achieved without causing unnecessary harm to animals.
Empowering Advocacy for Animal Rights
Caring for animals often involves advocacy and activism for their welfare. When individuals and organizations champion the rights of animals, they create a powerful force for change. Advocacy efforts have significantly improved animal welfare laws, regulations, and industry standards, making the world a better place for animals.
Nurturing Responsible Stewardship
Caring for animals nurtures a sense of responsible stewardship for our planet. We are not mere spectators but active participants in maintaining the delicate balance of nature. Taking care of animals instills a sense of duty to protect the environment, promoting sustainable practices that benefit the Earth and all its inhabitants.
Caring for animals is not solitary; it sets in motion a series of positive impacts reverberating through society and the natural world. From fostering compassion and empathy to promoting ethical practices and environmental conservation, our actions towards animals shape a better world for everyone. As we navigate the complexities of our modern existence, let us remember that caring for animals is not a burden but a privilege—an opportunity to create a world where empathy, ethics, and environmental consciousness thrive. Embracing this responsibility, we embarked on a transformative journey that promises a brighter and more compassionate future for all beings.
