Realme is set to launch the Realme GT Neo 5 in China on February 9, with no word yet on its global launch. However, recent information from a tipster suggests that it could debut in global markets under a different name - the Realme GT 3.
Tipster Steve H McFly recently shared an image of the possible retail box packaging for the Realme GT 3, which he claims could support 240W fast charging. The specifications for the Realme GT Neo 5 have been revealed by the company, and if the GT 3 turns out to be a rebranded version, it could boast similar specs.
The Realme GT Neo 5 is expected to feature an AMOLED flat screen with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It may also carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and a Sony IMX890 main sensor with OIS and Turbo RAW.
Additionally, the back panel of the GT Neo 5 may use AG Glass technology and offer a matte finish, while it may also have a 5,000mAh battery with support for 150W fast charging. The specs of the Realme GT 3 are yet to be confirmed, but if it does turn out to be a rebranded GT Neo 5, these specs could be similar.

While most flagship-tier smartphones today run on Qualcomm's ultra-powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the company recently announced the arrival of a somewhat similarly-powerful chipset, albeit meant for upper-midrange smartphones, also known as "flagship killer" devices - enter the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which packs a lot of the same features as its "regular" 8 Gen 3 sibling, while cutting down on costs. Chris Patrick, Senior Vice president and General Manager of Mobile Handsets at Qualcomm states: “With capabilities including on-device generative AI and advanced photography features, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is designed to enhance user experiences, fostering creativity and productivity in their daily lives... We’re elated to introduce the latest addition to our premium Snapdragon 8-series, our most premium mobile offering, bringing a host of exceptional specially selected capabilities to more consumers.” Designed on a on a 4 nm process with a 1+4+3 core configuration, Qualcomm says that the 8s Gen 3 is capable of supporting premium-tier features such as on-device generative AI features, an always-sensing ISP, hyper-realistic mobile gaming, breakthrough connectivity, as well as lossless high-definition sound. The new SoC also supports a broad array of AI models including popular large language models (LLM) such as Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, Gemini Nano and Zhipu ChatGLM. Given that generative AI has been a major focus for most OEMs in the past couple of years, it's not exactly surprising to see Qualcomm bring such features to a slightly lower-tier chip, although it's a much-welcome add-on and does slow down device obsoletion. High-end mobile CPU MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is planned to ship in Q4 2024. The first Dimensity series model made utilizing TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing node, the N3E, promises enhanced performance and energy efficiency.
MediaTek has set the scene with the introduction of the Dimensity 9400, signaling to its competitors that it is back in the high-end Android smartphone market and ready to cause a stir. Vivo is reported to seek a first pass at the company’s flagship chip, and it may have already acquired the first batch for itself. Aside from Google and Apple, the Taiwanese business has signed on as a client with every other phone manufacturer. A recent study found a 20% performance gain between the Dimensity 9400 and Dimensity 9300.
The Dimensity 9300 sold $1 billion, and MediaTek intends to continue its supremacy in the high-end Android phone market with the 9400.
Shipments of the Dimensity 9300 have been steady since October 2023, and a report from the China Times states that MediaTek’s flagship chipset currently in production brought in almost $1 billion for the business. Undoubtedly, MediaTek hopes to build on this success when the Dimensity 9400 launches in the second half of 2024. Vivo seems to have begun taking action against its rivals by being the first user of the next SoC.
Sadly, neither the pricing per Dimensity 9400 device nor the number of units that the Chinese phone manufacturer has acquired for its first run are indicated in the story. But, MediaTek could have made a respectable concession to Vivo based on the first volume. The fabless semiconductor firm will get more customers if the Dimensity 9400 is cheaper than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Specs are Leaked !! Snapdragon 8 Gen 4
We already have some information about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 application processor (AP) that Qualcomm plans to announce later this year, most likely in October. It is expected to power the Galaxy S25 Ultra, even though the Galaxy S24 Ultra was just released yesterday. Additionally, the AP will feature Qualcomm's own CPU cores, replacing Arm Holding's Cortex cores.
According to sources, the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (codenamed Tongzi) will not have any low-power efficiency cores. Instead, the mobile chip will have two big high-performance "Phoenix" CPU cores and six medium-performance "Phoenix" CPU cores. chip is expected to achieve 4GHz speeds. Although it is not clear which core will be running at this speed, it is likely to be the two big high-performance Phoenix cores.
It is rumored that the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC will feature a clock speed of 4GHz, which is faster than the peak clock speed of 3.3GHz of the Cortex-X4 Prime CPU core. Following its launch for buyers in China a few months ago, OnePlus has finally brought its latest flagship smartphone - the OnePlus 12 - to international markets, marking the arrival of its new premium handset for more people worldwide. With that being said, the OnePlus 12 packs some rather impressive hardware in addition to Android 14, which should give fans (as well as new adopters) a lot to like. A larger sensor size should provide better low-light performance, and also comes with an ALC Coating IR filter that helps reduce red glare and artifacts in images.
