Highlights of our latest HotDQ session

Context : we just finished wiping out a cultist castle with the help of their former allies lizardfolk (who are now our allies), but there was still a couple of rooms to explore, during which I (Ancestral Barbarian Minotaur) triggered an acid trap ; we ended last session in an observatory with a magic telescope right as we were ambushed by gargoyles

I started the fight with 7 hp and was sure I was gonna die. I ended with ONE hp. Good I love rage resistance.

Fighter : “Don’t worry, if you end up unconscious, I’ll swing you around and hit the enemy with your horns” Me IC : *offended gasp* “Pardon ?? They’re MY horns!! And I didn’t give you my consent!! Get your own horns!!” [Cue five minutes of racial discourse]

Warlock at the beginning of the fight: “we should take the fight elsewhere to avoid breaking the telescope” Ranger immediately after : *climbs on the telescope to get in melee range with the flying gargoyles* Fighter : *casts Booming Blade all over the place until a gargoyle explodes right above fragile parts* Warlock : “...a good thing I asked to not break the telescope.”

Warlock explains that she’s a Shadar-Kai from the Shadowfell and that she has a “““sponsor”““ granting her powers. Me IC : “Wait, is that why cultists keep calling you nasty names?” Warlock: “well, they’re also assholes.” Me : “But I thought they were assholes in general, not specist assholes!”

DM : “Your ancestor’spirit parries the gargoyle’s attack completely, preventing it from harming Ranger” Me : “Good ol’ grandpa Asterius!!”

“For the last time, do you or do you have not proficiency in Thieves’ Tools?” “I have a set of Thieves’ Tools.” “That’s not what I asked!!!!”

Me: “I’m asking the lizardfolk if they want to celebrate our victory over a good meal” DM : “They tell you they already feasted right after the battle while you were taking your short rest, and they ate most of the meat in stock” Our party : “aw...” DM : “...but after searching the kitchen, you find wine, beer  and a large cheese wheel” Our french asses : “IT’S FONDUE TIME BITCHES!!” DM: “it’s red wine, not white wine!!” Me : “doesn’t matter, it’s DnD, we’ll do”

We bonded over the fondue...and ended up having a bunch of insight checks at each other as secrets were finally spilled and some still kept hidden. Great bonding moment !

Warlock’s sprite familiar wanted to ride Fighter’s pseudodragon for a while but it always refused. During the fondue, she asked if she could perch on the head of Ranger’s wolf...and he allowed it, and it was fucking precious.

POLRES MAJALENGKA – Seorang Tenaga Kerja Wanita (TKW) asal Kabupaten Majalengka, Rasmina atau Minah (37) yang bekerja di Negara Singapura, terancam hukuman mati. Karena diduga telah mebunuh majikannya sendiri.

Atas musibah yang menimpa warga Majalengka itu, tampaknya mendapat perhatian serius oleh beberapa pihak, tak kecuali aparat Kepolisian Polsek Jatitujuh.

Mengetahui kabar tersebut Kapolres Majalengka AKBP Mada Roostanto,SE.MH, melalui Kapolsek Jatitujuh AKP Asep Supriyadi mendatangi rumah Acep Nurdin, selaku Suami dari Minah.

Ia pun akan berupaya menselusuri baik ke pihak seponsor yang membawa minah maupun juga ke pihak perusahaan yang telah menerbangkan minah ke Singapura.

“Kami akan membatu pihak keluarga minah dengan menelusuri pihak yang memberangkatkan Minah ke luar negeri tersebut,” Jelasnya.

Pihak keluarga TKW yang berada di Desa Randegan Wetan Kecamatan Jatitujuh Kabupaten Majalengka tersebut, merasa cemas dan khawatir mengetahui anaknya yang terancam hukuman mati dan ia pun berharap pihak Pemerintah bisa membantu untuk meyelesaikan permasalahan yang menimpa anaknya tersebut.

Menurut kedua orangtua minah, yaitu Kasman (58) dan Carniti (52), pihaknya baru mendapatkan kabar anaknya itu sebulan yang lalu, bahwa anaknya Minah yang sedang bekerja diluar negeri tersebut, terancam hukuman mati, atas tuduhan diduga telah membunuh majikanya di Singapura.

“Kami mendapat kabar tersebut dari temen temennya minah di Singapura, melalui telepon. kami pun langsung mengalami kecemasan dan khawatir, karena tak percaya anak kami bisa nekat berbuat sampai sejauh itu,” kata Kasman, Rabu (15/03).

Dikatakan dia, anaknya Minah, saat berangkat bekerja menjadi TKW di Negara Singapura tersebut, melalui perusahaan jasa penempatan tenaga kerja di Singapura melalui PT Asrama Bunda yang berkedudukan di Kampung Rambutan Jakarta Timur, pada Pebruari 2017 lalu.

Namun, ia langsung kaget bahwa anaknya yang baru saja bekerja sekitar Satu bulan lebih tersebut, mendapatkan kabar bahwa Minah terancam hukuman mati, karena telah mebunuh majikanya sendiri.

“Anak saya berangkat menjadi TKW, meninggalkan seorang suami dan Dua orang anak laki laki,”terangnya.

Sementara itu, menurut Suami minah, Acep Nurdin (40), mengaku tidak mengetahui saat istrinya berangkat bekerja menjadi TKW ke Singapura. Lantaran disaat istriya berangkat, dirinya sedang bekerja di luar kota, bahkan setelah istrinya bekerja pun, Acep tidak pernah berkomunikasi langsung dengan istrinya itu.

“Meski tidak pernah berkomunikasi, tapi kami yakin bahwa istri saya tidak akan berani senekat itu, seperti yang dipemberitaan bahwa istri saya telah membunuh majikannya dan kami sekeluarga berharap Pemerintah bisa membantu proses hukum yang menimpa istri saya dan bisa dibebaskan dari hukuman matinya. Sehingga bisa kembali ke Indonesia dan bertemu dengan keluarganya,” tutur Acep.

Sementara itu, Kepala Dinas Tenaga Kerja Majalengka, Ahmad Suswanto mengaku pihaknya telah mendapat laporan dan pengaduan dari suami minah. Dan ia menyatakan dari data yang ada di Dinas Tenaga Kerja Majalengka, bahwa Minah tidak terdaftar menjadi tenaga kerja wanita alias illegal.

“Apalagi keberangkatan minah tanpa ada izin dari suaminya, namun pihaknya telah berupaya melakukan kordinasi baik dengan Kementrian luar negeri maupun dengan pihak BNP2TKI untuk membantu minah,”tutupnya.

Highlights of last D&D session:

Expectations: a brave group of competent adventurers cleverly outwitting the cult of the Scaled Tyrant despite the odds and trials set on their paths. Reality: 35 minutes of debate in a swamp ending up on “The matter is settled, we are NOT eating any bullywugs legs!” “Just because you don’t have any culinary curiosity doesn’t mean it’s necessarily cannibalism !”

DM: “You’ll need some rp and a good roll to convince your patron” Warlcok: “Nat 20!” Barbarian OOC : “Holy shit you sugar daddied his ass !”

Once again, the patron’s Warlock breaks the 4th wall and reaches into our reality, this time by giving shitty rolls to all of our Fighter’s attacks to compensate for the Warlock’s excellent rolls.

Fighter: “I’m going upstairs” Barbarian: “I’m sure this won’t end well for her again so I’m following her (spoilers: I was right)

“Anyway he’s racist so we’re punching him”

(while planning how to kill in a spectacular fashion the bullywug shaman to win over lizardfolk while scaring the rest of the bullywugs into submission) : “I can put him on the tower’s windowsill,  sigh “the things I do for loyalty” and then push him.

Fighter : “Barbarian, Ranger’s Wolf, I choose you!!”

“My pseudodragon is upset we had to use his food as giant lizard bait” “Your pseudodragon is a pet, he doesn’t get to voice his complaints so he shuts the fuck up” “He’s a sentient and sensible creature with rights!” “He may be sentient and sensible but he still ain’t got no rights”

Who would win: Two high-ranked cultists casters with several spells to protect them while hindering and damaging their enemies Or 1 angry barb

The plan : sneak into the castle, kill a bullywug shaman to win the lizardfolk to our cause, try to keep a couple of cultist lieutenants alive for questioning but not Rezmir,  the half-dragon leading the cell, because she would be too fanatic to answer, all of this as sneakily as possible.

The results: Two dead lieutenants, the entire castle alerted, ending the session with half of the cultists surrounding us, haven’t even found the shaman, “guess we’ll have to try our luck capturing Rezmir alive”

A summary of our last D&D session, featuring our party of murder ladies vs the cult of Tiamat

Highlights of our last HotDQ session :

We ended up the previous session on a cliffhanger as we were surrounded by cultists in the middle of their castle courtyard. Us : shit we’re dead. First part of combat : we actually ended up with more hp then we started with between the cultists missing their attacks, my resistance to damage and Ranger healing herself

Once again, Wolf the ranger's wolf proves to be MVP, with several one-hit kills and the first kill of the session

The last enemy tried to escape by flying away. Fighter then shoots Fire Bolt and snipes him mid-flight. Me OOC : “PULL!!”

My barbarian killed someone by grabbing him by the throat and breaking his skull on her horn and I felt very badass

The cultists had guard drakes with them. Last time we faced cultists with guard drakes, it was a very tense battle where half of us almost died and we owed our life mostly to a convenient put we kept pushing the drakes into...Now 2 levels later, it barely took us a couple of rounds to kill 2 drakes. Fuck yeah!

We find a huge gold and gems loot. Fighter (who's very greedy) rushes in and tries to fill her bag as much as she can. Warlock calmly walks to the table of the loot, opens her bag of holding and slides the table's contents in the bag while holding eye contact with Fighter.

“I’m the mom dropping you at the toy aisle of the supermarket during grocery shopping”

The DM is slowly starting to hate my ability to reduce damage on teammates on my reaction. Especially as it saved the warlock’s life twice.

DM : describes a giant lizard being grabbed by huge and mysterious tentacles and dragged while screaming in pain into a dark, dirty tower we didnt dare exploring Ranger's player 2 min later, back at her computer: “sorry, for some reason there was a dead gecko eaten by ants in my room, had to take care of it” Conclusion: the mysterious tower is  either a portal through the 4th wall or a hentai studio.

My minotaur (barbarian, 2m30, fucking scary) tries to order Warlock's Sprite familiar (30 cm at most, fight with a teeny tiny stick and bow) to scout.It doesn't work; had to have Warlock give her the order.

Ranger: I search the red wizard, what do I find ? DM: among other things, some scrolls cases with arcanic scrolls inside. Pact of the Tome Warlock’s player : *muffled nerd screaming*

Fighter’s player was affected by a strange curse and almost only rolled 8 for damage during the whole session.

Cultists leader : “Kill the mage first, we’ll take care of the beast!” Me OOC: “Another racist? That cult is full of them!!” My Minotaur at Ranger’s wolf: “That’s not nice, what he said about you, but don’t worry I have your back”
