Today's problematic ships are Minsk and Rostov na Donu (B-237)

Minsk and Rostov na Donu (B-237) were a Ropucha-class landing ship and an Improved Kilo-class diesel-electric attack submarine, respectively, of the Russian Navy. Both were used in the Russian war in Ukraine (2022--present). The Rostov-na-Donu was capable of launching Kalibr cruise missiles, which Russia has used on numerous occasions to strike civilian targets in Ukraine.

In early September 2023 both the Minsk and the Rostov na Donu were in dry docks at a naval facility near Sevastopol, Crimea. Around 2 am local time on September 13, the armed forces of Ukraine helped both Russian warships go fuck themselves. A strike was carried out with underwater drones and UK-supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles.

Satellite and ground photos taken later show catastrophic damage to both the Minsk and the Rostov na Donu. The latter has likely had its pressure hull breached in multiple places. They are the most significant losses taken by the Black Sea Fleet since the April 2022 sinking of its flagship, the Moskva.

In addition, having to repair any damage to the dry docks and remove the wrecks from them will impair the support and maintenance capabilities of the Black Sea Fleet.

Russia's Baltic Fleet no longer has the ability to launch large-scale amphibious operations, according to a new report.

The findings are based on analysis of recent drills—dubbed Ocean Shield 2023—conducted by the Russian Navy in the Baltic Sea, according to a report from Rochan Consulting. The firm specializes in open source intelligence, conflict reporting and analysis, the global defense market, and national security, and currently focuses on monitoring military operations in Ukraine.

Russia's Baltic Fleet began its Ocean Shield 2023 naval exercises in August under the command of Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Nikolay Yevmenov.

The Russian Defense Ministry said it involved more than 30 military vessels and boats, 20 support vessels, 30 aircraft, and some 6,000 military personnel.

The exercise took place at the same time as NATO was holding its own Baltic Sea drills.

Rochan Consulting noted that the exercise came at a time when the relationship between Russia and NATO member states was at its lowest. At the same time, Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has negatively impacted its armed forces, including the Russian Navy.

"The Baltic Fleet, in particular, has had its capacities degraded," the report said, noting that three of its large landing ships had been deployed to the Black Sea prior to the war, and because of the closure of the Bosphorus Strait to military traffic, they have not been able to return to their home port of Baltiysk.

"Likewise, the Baltic Fleet's 336th Naval Infantry Brigade suffered significant losses in the war, significantly degrading the fleet's capacity for power projection," it said.

The consulting firm assessed that the Ocean Shield 2023 military drills "attempted to showcase to NATO that Russia could still project its power across the Baltic Fleet and damage NATO's potential in the region."

Russia's Defense Ministry said in August that the drills were designed to test "the navy's readiness to protect the national interests of the Russian Federation in an operationally important area" and would involve forces practicing how to "protect sea lanes, transport troops and military cargo, as well as defend the coastline."

But the exercises only confirmed that the Baltic Fleet has lost its ability to conduct a large-scale offensive amphibious operation "due to the involvement of its Ropucha-class landing ships and the 336th Naval Infantry Brigade in the war in Ukraine," the report said.

Razvozhaev, issued a Statement that 5 out of 6 marine ferries were Damaged (broken windows) in the AFU Attack Last Night and that only one is Operational.

He also Mentioned Multiple Buses and Trolleys were Damaged.

I mention this because the Southern Ferry Terminal is next to where archival satellite imagery shows the RuZZians liked to More their Ropuchas (see below images).

It is also very close to where the the Museum of the Black Sea Fleet and the Russian Navy training ship, the three-masted tall ship "Frigate Khersones (Chersones)", is Moored so I am assuming the latter was damaged as well.

out of six Boats, five had their windows Broken. One Boat is now operating on the main line “Grafskaya Pier - North Side”.

During the day, the windows of the damaged Boats will be replaced,

and as they are restored they will be brought Back online.

Ground transport:

3 passenger Buses,

13 school Buses and

1 trolleyBus and

a social taxi car were damaged -

the windows were also mostly Broken, one Bus had a Broken Bumper and radiator.

Thanks to the fact that we Recently Received new buses, we have a reserve of Passenger Transport, so the Damage did not affect Transportation;

there are no changes for Passengers. Damaged Vehicles will be Restored by specialists.»

Russian Submarine Destroyed

The significant damage sustained by a Russian Navy Kilo class diesel-electric attack submarine after a Ukrainian cruise missile strike last week. The Kilo class boat, together with a Ropucha class landing ship, had been in dry dock in the Black Sea port of Sevastopol, in Russian-occupied Crimea, when it came under attack in the early hour of September 13.

The submarine in question is the Rostov-on-Don (B-237), an Improved Kilo boat, from the Project 636.3 class, which is capable of launching Kalibr land attack cruise missiles, of the type widely used against targets in Ukraine. This submarine entered service in 2014 and is one of four of its type with the Black Sea Fleet.
