Summary: When Sasha Banks (Mercedes) and Naomi (Trinity) walk out of WWE, where does that leave Y/N?

“What?”

“We would like you to drop the title to Ronda.”

….

“No.”

….

“What?”

Now…normally you would be the one to agree with others (to avoid conflict) or at least make compromises. But something started to bubble in you a little bit. Ronda, as big as a draw she may be, did not deserve to have your title, especially by just taking it from you. After the emotions, she provoked out of you and the opportunities she stole from you (just by existing), you didn’t understand why you had to be the one who had to take another hit just to make her look good.

“No offense, I normally agree with your visions. But this is not a good idea.” You started with a nervous chuckle. “I literally just won the title and I would like a reign that could really help the division, not only myself but others.”

John started, “Y/N, don’t take this personally-“

“Oh, but I am.” You said, cutting him off. “Every since she’s arrived, she has been given everything; furthermore, at the expense of myself, others, and my career. It’s infuriating that there are other women on both rosters, who actually can wrestle, but have not had many opportunities. She has no interest in getting better or helping others improve.” You paused, looking at the three men who all had guilty expressions on their faces. You sighed before continuing to speak, “Look, I already allowed you and her to make a fool of myself before, and that hindered my growth. I’m not allowing that again.”

Vince cleared his throat, “Y/N, we understand your grievances. But it’s just that Ronda is a big draw-“

“And I’m not?” You asked, raising your eyebrows. Vince quickly shook his head.

“You are! You are one of our biggest draws on the roster, especially for the past years. We don’t have anyone else with enough star power to enter a feud with you besides Ronda.” Vince said. “Becky is on Raw, Charlotte is on hiatus, Bianca is Raw women’s champion, Sasha is tag champ, and Bayley is out due to injury. There is not much star power left to really draw besides Ronda.”

Leaning forward, you said, “Then allow me to give other women a chance. The chances that I never got or that were taken from me. Again, there have been many women who have worked their asses off and have not gotten the recognition yet. Liv is a perfect example, she just needs a good feud to really get her going.” You leaned back in your chair, looking at your title. “I’ll drop the championship, in all due time. But I will not drop it to Ronda.”

There was a tense and awkward silence that filled the atmosphere as you looked Vince McMahon straight in the eye, defying him and what he wants. In hindsight, who the hell was you to be reeling against Vince K. McMahon? But you have always been the reliable worker, the one they can always depend on to give a great show/match, the one the fans fought for to be the face of the division. But for some reason that all went out the door when Ronda entered the picture.

Paul cleared his throat and clapped his hands together, “Okay. Tensions are high and we are not going to make a decision when we are all like this. So, Y/N, thank you for meeting with us. When we can think of an alternative, we will let you know.” You nodded before leaving the room without another word. You wanna trust them to take your words under consideration and try to find something else, for your sake and theirs.

Although you always believed that the women’s division doesn’t get the respect, attention, or hype it deserves, you didn’t always feel this way toward Ronda or Vince. When Ronda first came to the WWE, you welcomed her with open arms and a warm smile, (even though your storyline was booted off Wrestlemania 34 for her).

That’s fine.

As time continued, you offered to help train her and practice with her, but she refused. But she still praised your skills and accomplishments.

That’s fine.

After a while, you had to be put on the back burner because they wanna build her up as a champion and threat. And she was getting paid more than you despite your tenure, draws, and skills.

It took time to get used to it, but that’s fine.

Soon, Ronda went on an Instagram live bashing WWE and professional wrestling, co-workers, dissed you and your cousin, Mercedes (for reasons unknown), and complained about how hard the industry is while working part-time.

That’s not fine.

—Time Skip: 3 Hours—

You found Mercedes and Trinity getting ready for their match. Knowing they’re also going through creative and booking differences, you decided to confine them. Mercedes, who has always been protective of you, instantly was on your side and proud that you stuck up for yourself, especially against Vince. Trinity was also proud of you and happy that you decided to say something before it’s too late.

“Y/N, we understand how you feel, God knows we do. Under-appreciated, overlooked, and all. Honestly, it feels like these championships are just here to hush us.” Trinity said.

“It does.” Mercedes said before turning to you, “We literally had the same meeting with Vince and John earlier about plans for the tag team championships.”

You squinted, “What’s the plan for you?”

“Nothing. They don’t know what they want to do. It’s very limited because they don’t have many actual tag teams left. We tried giving them ideas but they don’t agree with them.”

“So what are you guys thinking about doing?” You asked looking between your two friends.

There was a quick moment of silence before Mercedes spoke up. “We are thinking about leaving WWE.” Immediately, your heart dropped. You didn’t want the two closest people in your life to leave, especially leave you here. At this moment, you were conflicted about how you felt about it. On one hand, it made sense to leave a place that feels like it doesn’t need you. On the other, you are upset that all this drama and conflict lead to this. “Come on, Y/N. At this point, what else do we have? I’m tired of the constant disrespect, not only to me but to you and Trin. And the rest of the locker room.”

Trinity spoke up, “And we’ve been talking this over for almost this entire week. And we also think it might be a suggestion if you leave with us too.”

Your eyes widened in disbelief as Mercedes scoffed, “Y/n! We were just on the same page like two minutes ago.”

“Yeah! But I still have plans that I wanna accomplish here. Every person goes through a rough patch.”

“Sure, but for how long? How long do these rough patches last? When will they stop? Or when will they just give the plans to Ronda, like they always do?” Trinity asked, sitting down next to you.

“Let’s go Y/N. We started this together, so let’s leave together.” Mercedes said, looking straight into your eyes

“But I just can’t up leave, at least now. There is so much I wanna do and have to do.”

“But the question is will they allow you to do that?” You stayed quiet as you evaluated your options. Even if you did, where would you go for your career? You worked pretty much everywhere you wanted to, WWE was the endgame for you. How would your co-workers see you? What about your relationship? Mercedes’ words pulled you out of your thoughts, “Look, even if you don’t leave with us, just know we will support you no matter what. And we just want that same support too.”

“Of course.”

“And promise me you won’t tell anyone about this conversation.”

“Of course.”

—Time Skip: May 20, 2022 (Smackdown)—

It took everything in you not to cringe or allow your anger to show as the announcement was made on national television.

“Sasha and Naomi took the tag team championships into the office of our head of talent relations, they left them there, and then promptly walked out of the arena. Their actions disappointed millions of WWE fans and their fellow superstars. So because of what Sasha and Naomi did this past Monday night, they have been suspended indefinitely.”

Mercedes and Trinity walked out of WWE, to the surprise of everyone, except for you.

Immediately afterward, a huge meeting was called that included the entire locker room, Vince, and John. Essentially, degrading Mercedes and Trinity and their actions (while simultaneously ignoring their emotions). If looks could kill, during that meeting, both you and Vince would have been killed by each other. Social media outlets and that meeting heavily implied you were next for the walkout and that it was you who encouraged them to walk out. Afterward, it’s like you had the bubonic plague with the way everyone was avoiding you. No one interacted with you besides Zelina Vega (who was out on injury), Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez.

You being Mercedes and Trinity’s friend and the only one of the trio who didn’t walk out, it kind of makes it seems like you’re being punished. On top of the isolation backstage, you’ve been rarely mentioned on broadcasts (even though you are starting a feud with Raquel), and you were pulled from tonight’s and tomorrow’s card. After filming a quick (less than a minute) promo, you decided to leave the arena with the permission of Triple H.

While packing your things, you got a phone call. Without looking at the phone, you answered while sighing, “Hello?”

“Hey sweetheart, I just wanted to check on you with all the news going on.”

“Ugh, it’s getting stressful around here. I wish I could just disappear real quick and come back to everything fixed.”

“I know what you mean.”

“Danny, I genuinely don’t know how to feel or what to do.” You were happy to hear Daniel’s sweet and smooth voice over the phone. For the past month, you and Daniel have been getting closer than how you were for the past four years. You would call and text nearly every day, including when it felt like no one was on your side.

“I don’t know what to tell you. All I can tell you to do is to follow your heart and think about your actions while doing so.”

“Look at you, sounding like a cliche therapist from a Hallmark movie.” You chuckled, making him laugh.

“Shut up, I’m trying to make you feel better, you prick.”

“Well, I greatly appreciate it.”

“No problem! Um, where’s Carmelo? I know he’s there, comforting you.” You could just hear his eyes roll.

“Uh, no. He’s down in Florida right now for NXT. He hasn’t acknowledged me publicly.” That’s right; despite him being your boyfriend, not even Christian interacted with you backstage or out in public. He would text you and call you to check on you; but he did not want to be in public with you, for fear that his career would be messed up. And you honestly couldn’t blame him right now, seeing how the way things are playing out for your life. You don’t want him to be affected by something that has nothing to do with him.

Daniel sighed, “Why do you deal with him?”

“Danny, it’s complicated. But contrary to popular belief, I’m happy with him.” You said.

“But can you picture yourself happier somewhere else? With someone else?” He asked, making your heart leap to your throat.

Sighing, you answered. “Respectfully, that’s a loaded question that I can’t answer right now. Sorry,” Truthfully, it was. You couldn’t answer that question, especially when you can’t even see what your future holds for you in the next couple of weeks. Sure, you’re happy now. But have you always been happy with Christian? Short answer, no. But no relationship is perfect and just like you said with your relationship with WWE, everything has rough patches.

“Understandable, don’t apologize, it was my fault.” He said, making the line go silent; not an awkward silence, but more so a comfortable silence. “Did you still wanna hang out Sunday?”

“Yeah, now that I’m fully off of the card for this weekend, I have free time.” You two confirmed your plans before getting off the phone, even though Daniel wanted to stay on the phone until you got home. Even though you travel the world, you decided to live in New York (to cross off your bucket list and it was just convenient for you). So driving from Smackdown’s arena to your apartment wasn’t far. On your drive home, you were trying to decompress, before your phone decided to ring again. You almost screamed before answering the phone to a vaguely familiar voice.

“Yes, is this Miss. Y/N?”

“Depending on who’s asking.”

“Y/N, this is William Regal.” Your eyes widened as your memory started to flash. Even though he mainly worked with NXT, William Regal always kept an eye out for you. He believed that you are truly one of the best of the bests and tried everything to make sure you were considered for various opportunities. “Miss Y/N, I hope I’m not disturbing you.” His accent rang in your ear.

“Not at all. What do I owe you?”

“I’ll get right to the chase Miss Y/N. I need help training this young fellow. He’s very good in the ring, he just needs a push in certain areas. He’s a rookie, but a damn good one at that. I’m asking you for your expertise.”

“I’m shocked that you would trust me with a big task, Regal.”

“Please, I assume that this is just another little duty of yours. Besides, I don’t trust many people when it comes down to training and practicing, I hope you know that.”

“Regal, it’s an honor that you choose to call me for this. I’ll help you. When and where do you need me?”

You swore, you could hear a smile in his voice. “Great! That’s the thing though, I know this is short notice. But I was hoping you can help tomorrow, the gym is in New York. It shouldn’t be too far from your house, assuming you still live in New York.”

“Yes, I do. Just send me the address and I’ll be over there first thing tomorrow morning.”

Thank you so much Miss Y/N. I’ll send everything right over and tomorrow you will meet the young lad.”

Afterward, you two hung up as you were pulling into your parking spot. After an exhausting day, you just needed to go to sleep.

And that’s exactly what you did.

—Time Skip: Next Day—

It’s around 9 AM, and you immediately got up to put on workout clothes. You grabbed a quick breakfast and left your apartment. As you started to walk to the address Regal gave you, you couldn’t help but feel excited. It feels like another chance is being given to you. But in what way? You don’t know yet. You’re just happy that there is someone who believes in your abilities to help others. After walking for ten minutes, you arrived at the gym and entered to see 3 rings filled with people practicing drills, wrestling moves, and even promo cutting.

In the middle of all the chaos, you saw William with a smile, opening his arms towards you. “Y/N! Wonderful to see you again!” He hugged you before briefly showing you around the gym. While talking to William, you were constantly stopped by other wrestlers or aspiring wrestlers, telling you how much they enjoyed your craft. You could only smile as your heart grew with pride. William soon brought you into the middle ring, explaining the goals and agenda today. “Thank you so much for doing this Miss Y/N. Again, this lad is very gifted but he just needs a push. I’m thinking more variety in his arsenal.”

“I understand.” You chuckled, “So who is he?”

“Oh! He’s a well-oiled machine he is, just like his father. He should be here any moment.” William said looking around. And as if you’re on a sitcom, the door opened seemingly right on time. “Ah! There he is!” You looked over at the door to see a tall man with brown fluffy hair as if he was just woken up. He had a black hoodie on with matching pants and white shoes. He put down his bookbag before entering with you and William. As he got closer, you got a better look at his face. William spoke up with a smile, “Y/N, meet your mentee, Taz’s son...

after personally suffering with accepting this for a long time, i am genuinely so happy sasha isn’t with wwe anymore.

this woman gave her entire life to this company, she had more passion and talent than anybody in the world and it’s INSANE that wwe have done nothing but treat her like shit.

they wouldn’t pay her anything close to what they pay charlotte and becky and their reasoning is so laughable i choked…they don’t think she’ll be “over enough” …sasha banks will always be one of the most over wrestlers, even when she’s absent. absolutely nobody else could garner the constant attention she does if they’re awol. people have been making tons of noise year after year about her and how she deserves better and demanding change. it almost makes me think wwe personally do not like her and she doesn’t fit their “image” so they make every excuse under the sun to not push her to the stars. and what an absolutely tragic way to run a company. congrats on losing a once in a lifetime talent wwe, you’ll never recover from losing her and you’ll never find another like her.

I'm so mad about the Flash movie because it's so fucking unfair for Sasha Calle's superhero debut to be tarnished like this like WB refused to listen to fans- first shelving Batgirl for no reason, then booting Henry Cavill as he left Witcher for them and they said he could announce his return, to not doing anything in regards to all the arrests/accusations/legal trouble against the main actor

It just genuinely is not fair to the other people involved in these projects that they might not be able to feel proud of their work or show off what they've done because of the bad rep the main actor is currently bringing their studio

Batgirl and Leslie Grace and Brendan Frasier deserve better than this Henry Cavill and Superman deserve better than this . Supergirl deserves better than this, Sasha Calle deserves better than this I am absolutely livid

I personally don't like that they're banking on the Flash movie as hard as they are even if they're using it as a reset for the DCEU. There's too much bad press due to the main actor and them simply acting as if nothing happened is so disheartening- if they're insistent on wiping the slate so clean at this point, then clean it completely, don't pick and choose because not all apples are gonna be good to put in your basket

Sasha Banks and Naomi did not let me down.

WWE literally throws random teams together for title matches and have not bothered to create ANY established tag teams.

Then they have the fucking audacity to suspend, pull all merchandise and outright disrespect ON AIR the two women standing up and defending their division??

Both these women deserve so much better, the womens tag division deserves better.

WWE need to do fucking better.

Thats right its The Golden Blog with a brand new look,brand new graphics and brand new way of doing things. I also have a co-writer who will be joining me from now on. This will now simply be good and bad points.

So starting with the women's Royal Rumble match.

👍Good points:

The lasers give it that big time feel and the info on screen graphics are a nice touch.

Its great to see Naomi back.

Bayley got a huge ovation.

Great to see Jordynne Grace in WWE they also acknowledged the fact she beat Naomi in TNA.

Im guessing Tegan Nox eliminating Natalya leads to a match between the 2 so if this means a push for Tegan then im all for it.

A good pop for Zelina Vega.

I liked how they made Nia Jax look like a threat.

Alba Fyre got a good reaction.

R-Truth as funny as always thinking he was in this.

Jade Cargill has made her debut and got a huge pop.

Tiffany Stratton certainly impressed here.

Good to see Liv Morgan back.

Bayley winning. She more than deserves it.

👎Bad points:

Candice Lerae hardly got any reaction,neither did Indi Hartwell same goes for Ivy Nile and Kitanna Chance.

Bianca Bel Air almost slipping on the top rope as she jumped over it.

Kari Sane,Tegan Nox,Kayden Carter,Chelsea Green,Piper Niven,Xia Li,Maxxine Dupri,Shotzi,Shayna Baszler,Valhalla,Michin,Zoey Stark,Roxanne Perez also with zero reaction.

Undisputed WWE universal championship fatal four way match.

👍Good points:

Roman Reigns entrance looked awesome.

I love they addressed fans complaining online that Roman only defends the title every few months.

This certainly went the distance.

All 4 men looked good here.

A great sequence of events that lead to the finish.

👎Bad points:

This shouldn't have gone on 2nd.

The Slim Jim commercial during the entrances.

Solo Sikoas interference wasn't needed i feel.

👍Good points:

Logan Paul targeting Kevin Owens broken hand.

Logan Paul just seems to get better and better.

A great finish,a most certainly stacks heat onto Logan.

Logans freind Jeff really didn't need to get involved here.

Mens Royal Rumble match.

👍Good points:

Having Jey and Jimmy Uso start this was very smart.

Grayson Waller came out to no reaction but quickly got heat on the mic.

Great to see Andrade back.

Carmelo Hayes got a good pop.

Many boos for Dominick Mysterio,what a heel.

Good pop for Bobby Lashley,also Kofi Kingston.

Good to see Bron Breakker in the match and damn was he impressive.

A great surprise Pat McAfee entering the rumble.

A big pop for R-Truth,he wanted a hot tag to enter the match,so funny.

Huge pop for Cm Punk.

Good ovations for Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn.

👎Bad points:

Little reaction for Shinsuke Nakamura,Santos Escobar,Karrion Kross,Austin Theory,Finn Balor,Bronson Reed,Gunther,Ivar,Omos,Jd McDonough,The Miz,Damien Preist and Ricochet.

They popped for Ludwig Kaiser but booed him when they saw who it was.

Cody Rhodes had to do his full entrance like a goof ball.

The Worst Contracts Ever Signed in Sports

Contracts are not easy to navigate, especially as you get to a higher profile, and the contracts deal with not-so-insignificant sums of money, stipulations, and other legal minutiae. Many athletes must explore and overcome this world of complicated contracts as they rise in the ranks of popularity and status. These contracts have become increasingly complex, and many sports organizations have relied on some athletes' naivety to persuade them into signing less-than-ideal contracts. Read on to learn about some of the worst contracts ever signed in sports.

Odell Beckham Jr.

One of the star athletes of the NFL today is Odell Beckham Jr. He’s played for the New York Giants and now plays for the Los Angeles Rams, but this transfer didn’t come with the best deal. Beckham signed a contract with the Rams in 2021, a big year for crypto, and to ride this wave of crypto interest, Beckham wanted to get paid his $750,000 in Bitcoin. After the plummet of Bitcoin’s value this year, Beckham's $750,000 of crypto now comes to about $35,000, less than 10 percent of what he would have if he didn’t get paid in cryptocurrency.

Owen Hart

Professional wrestling and the WWE aren’t strangers to making shady contracts that hurt their athletes. One athlete who got a raw deal was Owen Hart. Owen and his brother Bret were both a part of the WWE, which at the time was the WWF, and Bret was a champion. Bret was set to retire and join the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) organization, and the WWE organizers didn’t like that. Traditionally, wrestling scripts their events, but the organizers went off script and had Bret lose his last title match. Bret went to the WCW, but Owen was still on contract with the WWE. However, Bret was barely used by the WWE, and he eventually passed away, falling to his death after an accident during a wrestling entrance. Part of his contract with the WWE stipulated that they were not responsible for any deaths caused by negligence, but Hart’s family would sue and eventually get awarded $18 million. In the years since the lawsuit, the Hart family continues to sue, contending that the WWE continues to use Hart’s likeness for financial gain when they were responsible for his death.

WWE’s Female Wrestlers

Some other athletes in wrestling whose contracts have hurt them are the female talent in the WWE. It’s no secret that women athletes typically get paid less than their male counterparts, but these usually are from different organizations. The WWE has both male and female wrestlers, and a lot of screen time in recent years gets dedicated to showing these female wrestlers. Despite this, even some of the most popular female wrestlers, like Sasha Banks, are getting paid less than male wrestlers that are nowhere near the top of the fight card. Likely, some of these players didn’t know the difference between sports lawyers and sports agents, a helpful distinction that would help them avoid the worst contracts in sports history. Without the right representative to help them navigate these complex deals, athletes can end up in unfair situations that are even more difficult to escape. Wow. Wow, wow, wow. Actually wait, before I go on this rant, let me go lock my doors.

I really don’t get the WWE fandom at times. The Sasha Banks/Naomi situation continues to escalate and the takes I’ve seen from people are just...confusing?

I saw a comment on a YT video about how Gail Kim did something very similar a while ago and how she was better off after she left. People, of course responded to that, and some of the takes were just mind-boggling. There seemed to be a back and forth between one individual and others. This particular person just kept saying how she left and faded into obscurity and how she did nothing and whatnot. People were quick to say that she left and went to TNA/Impact (I think it was TNA at the time?) and how she got married. This person was quick to just crap all over TNA/Impact and how it was a nothing company, etc. Which, like, I don’t watch Impact (though I might check it out now), but I’m familiar enough to know it had its issues. But like.....maybe Gail Kim was happier there and just wanted to wrestle? I get the idea that WWE is the biggest platform and wrestlers are going to get the exposure on there, but maybe the sentiment from individuals who leave unhappy is that it’s not worth them being miserable and they’d rather go somewhere “smaller” and actually get to wrestle.

I mean, maybe I’m wrong on this, but I’m pretty sure that WWE has the most intense traveling schedule of all the companies. Alllll the live shows they do. I think wrestlers have said they’re home for 2 days out of the week? That’s a lot when you’re doing that year round. Additionally, it’s not uncommon for wrestlers at those other promotions to have the flexibility to work at other companies. Some seem to stick to one place, but others kind of float around. From what I’ve heard other wrestlers say, they have a bit more control on what they do and where they go. Which, might be appealing to some people. You might be able to finagle more time off during certain times of the year and be busier at others. I get the idea of stability, but I feel like with all the releases that’s not true with WWE. You might be out of a job randomly one day.

So, as much as I get the argument, “WWE is the biggest!” maybe for some people it’s not worth their happiness.

i say this every time she talks about it but listening to sasha talk about wanting to be the best since she was a kid and coming into wwe at a time where the women were still divas getting 2 minute matches and not being taken seriously and wanting to prove that they can be just as good as the men and BETTER than the men and seeing where she is now i—

January 2022- Royal Rumble

“She did it! Y/R/N did it! She’s going to Wrestlemania!” Michael Cole’s voice boomed from commentary as you pointed to Wrestlemania, making fireworks go off in the background. The crowd was on their feet, cheering. Happy tears were flying down your face, clouding up your vision. You got down from the turnbuckle and started walking to the stage, with the audience chanting “You deserve it!” in the background. You high-fived kids and thanked your supporters.

As soon as you got backstage you were tackled in a hug by Naomi (Trinity) and your cousin, Sasha Banks (Mercedes). You grinned as other people congratulated you, both friends and foes, including Charlotte Flair (who you eliminated last in the rumble). After completing an interview, you sat backstage with Trinity and Mercedes, discussing the plans for tonight and tomorrow.

“I’m so happy you won lil cousin.” Mercedes with a big grin. “I told Trin that if it wasn’t one of us, it had better been you.”

“Yeah girl, you truly deserve it,” Trinity said giving you a huge hug.

You debuted in WWE at 20, after being in the independent scene since you were 15 years old. You spent the latter part of your teenage years wrestling all over the world (specifically in Japan and the United States), so much so that you had to get your GED. But it was all worth it just to be able to stand in the ring. You won multiple championships and accomplishments in companies such as Stardom, Revolution Pro Wrestling, Shimmer, DDT, and Ice Ribbon; you quickly became popular in the wrestling community. But you always had a dream to wrestle in the WWE, especially alongside your cousin.

After being opted out of NXT, you debuted on Raw in 2016; before going on to win the Raw Women’s Championship 3 times and the Smackdown Women’s Championship twice. You’ve been toe-to-toe and head-to-head with the best, including Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Mickie James, and Mercedes. But like how it is to everyone on the roster, Wrestlemania is a very important event to you, and being able to have a guaranteed ticket to it; is the best thing in the world at the moment.

“Thanks, y’all! Do you know who was supposed to win this year?” You ask

Both Mercedes and Trinity made a face. Mercedes rolled her eyes while asking, “Who do you think?”

You exclaimed. “Ah, Miss Part-Time.”

“Exactly. At times, I wonder why she’s here.”

“No, because it’s the fact people who have been working here for almost a decade and they don’t get half of the opportunities that Ronda gets. It makes no sense.” You said to pack up some of your things. You had respect for Ronda, in terms of her UFC career. But as a wrestler (and sometimes as a person), you had little to no respect for her. As a person who has given up multiple aspects of her life just to have the opportunity to get in the ring, you were beyond disgusted and angry at her perspective of the wrestling industry and towards your friends (including Mercedes).

However, that is a story for a little bit later….Now, you have to focus on an actual champ.

“But enough about her. What championship are you going win at the grandest stage of them all?” Trinity asked nudging you.

You gave a small smile, filled with determination and mischief, and said, “I’m going to win that Smackdown Women’s Championship from Charlotte Flair.”

And in 3 months, you did exactly that…

April 2022 - Wrestlemania 38

Imagine how you felt winning the Royal Rumble….okay…now times those emotions by 10,000.

That’s how it felt as the confetti came down, fireworks sounded off, fans chanted your name, tears overwhelmed your face, and your newly won championship was wrapped around your waist by Charlotte.

“Y/R/N has truly become the Real Deal in the WWE! After beating Charlotte Flair in a legendary match, Y/R/N stands before you, on the glorious stage of Wrestlemania, as your new Smackdown Women’s Champion!”

 “Y/R/N! Congrats!”

“Great performance Y/R/N!”

All these sayings and more just filled your ears as you hugged your parents, who were there at ringside. As you walked up the ramp of Wrestlemania, you took in the last couple of moments of the crowd before being met with even more cheers from your coworkers; being pulled into hugs left and right. Then Mercedes, Trinity, and Bianca Belair hugged you while bringing you to the photoshoot area. You took multiple pictures with your friends before going to your locker room.

“Girl, we’re gonna celebrate tonight!” Trinity exclaimed.

“No, we’re gonna celebrate after you and Sasha win those tag titles,” Bianca said making you laugh. You smiled before looking at your phone, looking through all your notifications. But your smile soon became a frown as you didn’t see the one you were looking for the one you wanted. “He didn’t text yet?”

Sighing, you said, “Nope. He said he was gonna be here. I haven’t seen him yet.”

“All you need to do is turn around.” A voice said behind you. You turned around and immediately started to squeal, running towards the voice. As you jumped their arms, their body rumbled with a chuckle. It was your boyfriend of six months, Carmelo Hayes. “My baby is so cute.” He gave you a bouquet of roses, filled with your favorite colors.

“Awe, look at the happy couple.” Bianca cooed.

“Thanks, baby.” You smiled, kissing him on the cheek. You lead him over to a private corner real quick as your friends kept making kissing faces.

“I’m so proud of you. My little champ.” You could honestly say that Carmelo is the best boyfriend you’ve ever had. He was so sweet: buying you gifts, showering you with love, and ensuring that you get the best of the best. “So what are we doing tonight? I was thinking candlelight dinner in that nice restaurant downtown-“

“Um, actually, I wanted to either go out to drinks with the girls or just go to sleep honestly. But you are more than welcome to come out with u-“

His smile dropped. “Are you serious?” Carmelo said, raising his voice. “You rather hang with your friends than me?”

On other days, you could honestly say that Carmelo is an arrogant and envious man on a bad day. But you told him (and yourself) that you would love him no matter what. “No, it’s just I haven’t hung out with them in a hot minute.”

“Y/N, You never have time for me now.”

“What are you talking about? We hung out after Stand & Deliver, literally two days ago.” You rolled your eyes before briefly glancing towards your friends, who were standing with concerned faces.

“Yeah, that was after I lost-“ He paused before squinting at you. “So what you think you’re too good for me now?”

“What? No-“

“Just cause you have a championship now? You think you’re better than me?” He said getting closer to your face. Started to feel angry yet sad, and you just looked up at him. “Fine, go out. I don’t care. But I better not get a call tonight.” He said before stomping away from you, slamming your locker room door shut. Immediately, Bianca, Trinity, and Mercedes looked at you, with Bianca walking towards you.

“Are you okay?” Bianca said, rubbing your back.

“Yeah. He’s just having a bad day” You quietly stated. Were you? Yeah, only because it’s now a regular occurrence. It happens almost every time something good happens. You liked Carmelo, hell you like him more than the other people you were involved with. He always had this charm that convinced you to stay or to get over it after anything bad; it wasn’t your fault, and it wasn’t his (it never was). After a while, you decided not to let this little thing get in the way of a quote-on-quote good relationship. And now, you decided to not let him ruin your good night.

“I never liked him for you,” Mercedes said throwing her heels in her bag. Mercedes, being your cousin, was always protective of you. She tried her best to ensure that no harm could reach you, including men who she thought weren’t good enough for you. Seeing how you are now, it’s safe to say you never listen. Always drowning her out to go after anything heart first. “I always thought that he was a douche to a certain extent.”

“Talented,” Trinity started. “But a talented douche.” She finished as Mercedes nodded.

“Anyways!” Bianca started, rolling her eyes at your friends. “Get ready, 'cause we’re about to go out!”

Nodding, you walked away to take a shower. Around 30 minutes later, you got dressed in another outfit before leaving the locker with your friends in tow. You made it to the parking garage; and as you were about to turn the corner, you were face to face with a person who: one- you didn’t like, and two- who was going to be gunning for your new title soon. “Rousey.” You said with a monotone voice.

“Congratulations, champ,” Ronda said with emphasis on the last word. “You won the title on the grandest stage of them all. But you also won the opportunity to be the person I’m gonna beat for it. I say by Money in the Bank, I’ll be the new champion.” She smirked as you lifted a brow.

You slightly chuckled, “We’ll see about that. Don’t get it twisted, I’ve beaten you before and I can beat you again. And this-“ You motioned to your championship. “Will be just the icing on the cake” Ronda looked around at Trinity, Bianca, and Mercedes before deciding to walk away.

“I really don’t like her,” Mercedes said before putting her bags in the car. You followed before getting in the passenger seat. You whipped out your phone, which had more notifications than the last time you checked it. However, only two stuck out to you. Each of them makes your heart skip a beat and gives you butterflies in your stomach for different reasons.

“Y/N?” Trinity said pulling you out of your thoughts. You looked at her. “Are you ready for the trip?”

“Oh, yeah. I am.” You said looking back at the phone.

But truth be told, you weren’t ready. You weren’t ready for the trip of your career or life.

Not at all.
