Erin:

Sexuality headcanon: Canonically bi, but also that boy is so fucking aro it hurts

Gender headcanon: I think trans man Erin is something we as a fandom should consider. The more I think about it the crazier I will become

OTP: See above (aro) but if I had to pick I would probably say Theia bc their dynamic is so juicy I love it

BROTP: Tess, but that’s obvious. I also think he would get along really well with Palamedes Sextus

NOTP: IDK, I don’t really have NOTPs :p

Random headcanon: I think he has a nice singing voice, and I think he would be in an a capella group. I have no reason for this other than it makes me happy to imagine

General opinion: I have a lot of characters I’d like to study under a microscope, but Erin is one of only a few where I think the feeling would be mutual

Alinua:

Sexuality headcanon: I don’t really think she cares gender-wise but she’s definitely ace and polyamorous

Gender headcanon: Agender!!! She uses she/her in the same way you use she/her for Life. Thought she was cis but connected with her powers and unlocked Girl Plus

OTP: Tesslinua 5ever of course, but also she’s in a QPR with Kendal and you can’t convince me otherwise

BROTP: Falst and Alinua friendship makes me want to chew glass

NOTP: Again, don’t really have those!

Random headcanon: Modern AU Alinua is constantly surrounded by animals, whether that be bugs or birds or bunnies. Falst thinks she’s a Disney princess

General opinion: SHE’S ME SHE’S LITERALLY ME. If I’d known what Aurora was when I was seven I would’ve pretended she was my long-lost twin

i wanted to ask the hellsite genetics person to assign a creecher to the haunted majora's mask cartridge.

their pinned post says to put stuff over 1500 characters in a pastebin or somefin, not directly in askbox.

so i took a very small piece of that story. and started shaving off stuff to try and get it below 1500 characters, careful to not mess up the genetic information.

eventually i gave up. below the cut is the stuff i ended up with

I recently moved into my dorm room starting as a soph in clg and a friend gave me his old Nintendo 64 to play. I was stoked, to say the least, I could finally play all those old games of my youth that I hadn’t touched in at least a decade. His Nintendo 64 came with 1 yellow controller and a rather shoddy copy of Super Smash Brothers, and while beggars can’t be choosers, needless to say it didn’t take long until I became bored of beating up CPUs.

That weekend I decided to drive around a few neighborhoods abt twenty minutes off campus, hitting up the local garage sales, hoping to score on some good deals from ignorant parents. I ended up picking up a copy of pkmn Stadium, Goldeneye (fuck yeah), and two other controllers for two dollars. Satisfied, I began to drive out of the neighborhood when one last house caught my attention. I still have no idea why it did, there were no cars there and only one table was set up with random junk on it, but something sort of drew me there. I usually trust my gut on these things so I got out of the car and I was greeted by an old man. His outward appearance was, for lack of a better word, displeasing. It was odd, if you asked me to tell you why I thought he was displeasing, I couldn’t really pinpoint anything –there was just something about him that put me on edge, I can’t explain it. All I can tell you is that if it wasn’t in the middle of the afternoon and there were other people within shouting distance, I wouldn't have thought of approaching this man.

Orpheus vs 1 little mouse

Depends on which production:

Chibueze’s Orpheus: Would never fight a little mouse. Would befriend the little mouse. Would take the little mouse home to Eurydice and make him dinner.

Damon’s Orpheus: Would win, but would feel bad about it afterwards. Might write a song about it later.

Concept album Orpheus: Would lose because he wouldn’t even notice the mouse was there.

Reeve’s Orpheus: Would lose for real.

Let's try this again: Persephone vs Morticia Addams

Goddess of the dead whose name means “to destroy” vs high society lady with unexplained and vaguely witchy/vampiric power whose name also means death. I think nothing Persephone could do to Morticia could hurt her in the long term, which would really piss her off, but Persephone would drink Gomez’s wine, which would piss Tish off. In the end, pretty even match.

That being said, the Addamses would be fucking THRILLED to have a cthonic deity in their home. Seph would be treated with all the highest honors, even if her table manners aren’t impeccable.

Matthew mcfayden darcy vs colin firth darcy

Mr. Looked-His-Crush-In-The-Eye-While-Soaking-Wet-After-Jumping-In-A-Lake vs. 2005 sadboy? Colin’s Darcy is just a little bit feral and could easily take Matthew’s Darcy, who (I might add) we also never see swordfighting. The only advantage Matthew’s Darcy has might be his height/build, but he’s too sad/emotionally repressed to use his power. Again, easy.

(I like to imagine their respective Lizzies are cheering them on from the sidelines. That’s the other advantage Matthew’s Darcy might have- Kiera’s Lizzie would be screaming, while Jennifer’s Lizzie has her face in her hands the whole time.)

Rose red and anatole kuragin

Rose: Got scammed by an actual bear and took like six lifetimes to kill one (1) person. That being said, she does kill that person in many ways, and has experience in all forms of killing from guns to hiring subway assassins to drowning someone in a river.

Anatole: Is in the army later, though admittedly he’s not very good, I believe he loses a leg in the only battle he fights. The only way he could possibly win is if he had Dolokhov on his side. That being said, he did fool Natasha as well as his wife, and I’m fairly sure he’s slightly more intelligent than a bear.

I think Rose could probably beat Anatole in a physical brawl, and she could definitely kill him if she had a gun or something. But she might be a little less well-equipped in a battle of wits.

Per the notes of your last post, I’d love to hear more of your Thoughts™️ about why Pride & Prejudice works because the two main characters are neurodivergent!! I’ve thought a lot about Darcy being neurodivergent, but not so much Lizzie…

Oh my dear friend you have no idea what you’ve gotten into

So most of the characters in Pride and Prejudice are pretty much stock caricatures, right? Mrs. Bennet is the archetype of the meddling, embarrassing mother, Mr. Wickham embodies the idea of a wicked, seductive rogue, Caroline Bingley is the trope of the bitchy romantic rival. Even Jane (while arguably quite complex) is a classic kind-and-forgiving ingenue, or at least extremely similar to one.

The only exceptions to this rule are Elizabeth and Darcy.

Let’s start out with Elizabeth. You can clearly see she’s a complicated character right out the gate. She’s witty and intelligent but not very wise about people, she’s extroverted and kind to her sisters but can also be rude to people who don’t necessarily deserve it, she doesn’t take many things seriously other than her own opinions. She idolizes her father and ignores his many, many flaws because they’re also HER flaws- they share a bemused high-and-mightiness about their intelligence.

Elizabeth is the protagonist, so readers might expect her to be more complex than side characters. But there’s also something so isolating about being the only fully-fleshed person in a house or a ballroom full of stereotypes and caricatures. So sometimes Elizabeth lets her true colors show, but other times, she plays the game to be able to do the same things her sisters do easily (although she can’t help letting her personality shine through, like at Rosings).

In contrast, there’s Darcy, who doesn’t appear particularly complex at the beginning of the novel. At the ball, he’s proud and unsociable, and he appears not to think much of Elizabeth: “she is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt me.” He’s a stereotype here, like all the other characters- specifically, the stereotype of the proud and haughty rich man with little regard for others.

But over the course of the book, Darcy changes dramatically, and so does Elizabeth’s (and the reader’s) perception of him. He’s still proud and he’s still rich, but those aren’t his only qualities. He’s a generous master and a loving brother, he’s an introvert who freezes in public but flourishes around those he cares about, he’s a devoted friend who doesn’t ask repayment for the most extravagant favors.

And, crucially, they share these complexities with each other. Darcy is at his haughtiest and his humblest when he’s with Elizabeth, and Elizabeth laughs and rages at Darcy in turn. They share with each other their flaws at the end, and they realize they’ve found kindred spirits in each other. It’s worth noting that, apart from in her own thoughts, the only person who refers to Elizabeth by her full name is Darcy. Their minds work in very different ways, but they’re both even more different from those around them.

Elizabeth and Darcy are drawn to each other in a way that only two “different” people can be. In a world where their defining qualities are ignored and ridiculed, they each celebrate and love what makes the other who they are. That’s neurodivergent love in its most beautiful form.
