Regarding posts disbelieving Eddie not being liked by at least someone...

I don’t think most of y’all understand how ostracized Eddie would have been in small-town Indiana in the 80s... my mom’s, who grew up in small-town Illinois that wasn’t as highly religious as Hawkins is portrayed to be, saving grace was also being on the dance team, otherwise, she (who could make an Eddie costume out of clothes from her teens) would have been completely alone in high school. 

Add in the satanic panic (that involved satanic ritual abuse), and you have the poster child for who most of the nation, adults and children alike, believed were causing the doom of America and sexually abusing children and teens for satan worship. Please read these Wikipedia entries on Michelle Remembers (the book that really started it all) and on the daycare workers who went to jail for sexual abuse crimes they did not commit (in LA county, mind you, not somewhere in the Bible Belt) and the overview of the Satanic Panic to start if you do not understand just how severe it got and how scared people were. I have a post with more sources that I’ll link to later

Like all these “don’t tell me girls didn’t want Eddie” posts are nuts to me. He would have gotten accused of sexually assaulting someone for satan if he even tried with someone who was genuinely interested, not that many were. Boy was not about to have someone alone with him in a potentially sexual context, and lbr, Chrissy definitely weighed the pros and cons of meeting with Eddie for drugs for days because meeting a dealer who is potentially satanic in the 80s (and 90s!) was much different than meeting a dealer who is potentially satanic today. 80′s context meant potential abuse and sexual assault; today’s context means some stoner bro who is pro-human rights and has the devil tattooed on his ass.

These posts just drive me up a wall.

obsessed just a little bit with sam and paulie actually. i wish we could see them a little more before tommy came into the picture, because their chemistry really is so sweet, they're so candid. sam seems like such an asshole, such a prick when you first meet him, with his resting bitch face, his ruthless behaviour, his whole vibe really. but then you play through the game more and you see that behind all that he actually has this intense soft side, and even though he is so fearful of how things are going to turn out for him. he doesn't let it get in the way of him being physically and emotionally comfortable with his friends at all.

i feel like sam and paulie are similar in so many ways but where they differ is how open they can be with the people they love. i feel like sam is very real and proper, does what he thinks is best at the time, whereas paulie feels a little guilty whenever he does it, at least when he's sober. i think because everyone almost shuns paulie in a way, and/or he's dealt with it his whole childhood and while he's been in the family growing up. so when tom comes along and doesn't shun him at all really, he's this amazing, kind person who he relates to a bit more than sam. he finds himself getting attached to him, and that's why sam and paulie split up just a little bit because paulie relates to tom more and finds him more comforting. with how sam is salieri's unwilling golden child, i feel like tom doesn't divide them at all, but rather salieri's psychological manipulation to sam and paulie individually. it's causing them to want very specific things that they both see in tom but not necessarily each other. they used to but they're so caught up in everything, they don't hate each or view tom as someone better than them. they're just excited to have a new friend, a little overwhelmed.
