This poor Frankenstein’s monster of a paragraph was constructed from three separate parts and only assembled into its final form at the 11th hour. I really struggled with the ending of this story; the emotional arc wasn’t quite working, which I finally figured out was because the emotional climax and the sex climax (har har) were coming at different times, but before that I wrote a whole bunch of different endings trying to make things work. (The uhh climactic tentacle scene originally happened right after they watched porn together, and then the pacing felt very off to me. Relocating that scene finally made things click. I don’t usually do too much structural editing once I’m done with a story, because I try to take care of any major issues along the way; this was by far the most revision I’ve ever done, and I do indeed regret everything.) 

Anyway the whole thematic parallel of Geno and the naiad (two wild and easily startled creatures!) was not something I intended when I started the story, but the subconscious is a blessing to every writer, and once I realized what was going on I felt morally obligated to milk it dry. How will Sid commemorate the fortunate presence of Geno in his home and life? Probably he hangs a picture of the two of them in his bedroom, so he can look at it every night before he goes to sleep. Geno is both embarrassed and thrilled.

I honestly do not understand. Not at all. I swear some people are only in the fandom because it's "big", but if you look around you'll see that a lot of people say things about Geno that are just "WTF" worthy. I don't get how people can read or write sex when they don't think that Geno is attractive.

dj: I sat in with Robert and we read a few other actors that were choices for Richie, some really super talented guys whose names you would definitely recognize and you would know their work.

zh: They ended up not being available so they had to give the job to me.

dj: No, not true at all. The second Zane came in, it just clicked. We had a really good time. Robert was just smiling the whole time and laughing while we were playing. After Zane left the room, I could just see him. He's got this smirk he does and this little laugh. The second I saw that I was like, “All right, that's the guy.” There was nobody else for the part. Zane's crushing it.

I would like to weigh in on this because I still write my FDTD Fanfics and I pay attention to what people post (weather it be twitter Or tumblr) for any little details I could’ve missed. And this is because each chapter in my fanfics (I have two plots) is around 5K to 26K words. Needless to say I pay attention to what others post.

It’s safe to say that yes, some people on twitter tend to hate on Kisa, and sometimes on tumblr too. She was a villain in the series that eventually became an ally to our main characters (the Gecko brother’s and Kate).

Everyone can have their own opinions and sometimes we forget the reason why the series was the way it was. Kisa was played by a woman who I grew up watching in telenovelas and have seen her flourish into a strong actress by taking on roles someone like her wouldn’t usually take. Not to meantion that Eiza Gonzalez has been an actress from a very young age.

I don’t understand the hate she gets or the hate Kate’s character gets because of the way the series ended, was cast, was written, etc.

It was almost a given that when they picked up this series they were going to choose a Mexican actress to fill in the shoes that the amazing Selma Hayek left behind. Or the shoes Madison Davenport had to fill by Juliette Lewis.

Madison Davenport also started acting a very young age and has become better with time. Now she’s in HBO’s “Sharp Objects” and I believe she is doing remarkably well as she gets more experience.

I think the point I’m trying to make is that we have two great actresses that gave this series everything they could despite how it ended. We can’t get rid of hate but blind hate? That will take time. In the mean time, and this is for all those blind haters, please do your research.

If you’re going to take the time to judge or criticize someone (lifelong professionals no less) for their performance or lack thereof, do your research. Eiza Gonzalez was chosen for the role because she fit it perfectly as was Madison Davenport for Kate Fuller. And as for the casting and the way the series went, well, we can thank the writers and producers who worked together to bring this series to us in the first place.

Just sayin.
