Piapro Characters - Dollfie Dream Kaito

This 2ft tall doll was manufactured by Volks and was put up for preorder on the 1st of October, 2022 for ¥72,000. He was shipped out on the 27th of May, 2023 and is part of their "Dollfie Dream" series of dolls. He was designed by iXima and sculpted by Zoukei-mura and he comes with a magnetic headset, removable clothes/underwear, a removable wig, normal hands and peace sign hands. [Kaito's 24inch height is him when he isn't wearing his high-healed boots and therefore he might actually be slightly taller if he has them on.]

My customized Dollfie Dream doll. I used dollfie dream pretty base body (DD-F3), DDH-01 head, dollfie animetic eyes (V Type 22mm akane color), dollfie eyelashes (WT-18), dollfie dream wig (W-155D), I drew the eyelid and eyebrow using zoukei-mura acrylic paints and used zoukei-mura make-up pastels for the blush. The DD Outfit is the Classical Marine set.

(Not sure anyone is gonna be able to answer my question since it seems the BJD community on here is dead, but...) Does anyone know of a good (tried and tested) sealant for BJD faceups??? I used to use Games Workshop/Citadel Purity Seal, but they no longer make it. Instead they have another product to supposedly replace it, but from what I’ve heard it’s no good for faceups (leaves a shiny surface)??? I’m in the UK, so: 1) Please don’t recommend Mr Super Clear or other Mr Hobby products. They aren’t available here, and importing them is expensive and they will take 10 weeks to get here because they need to be shipped by boat.

2) Please don’t recommend Zoukei-Mura spray either, pretty much for the same reasons as Mr Super Clear. 2) Please don’t recommend airbrush sealants. I don’t have an airbrush. I don’t have the funds (nor the need) to buy all the equipment needed to use one.

People often say Testor’s Dullcote is good, or even Army Painter Matt/Anti-Shine Varnish. But equally I’ve seen people say they’re bad as well. So I honestly don’t know what to buy anymore. Thanks, Games Workshop...

Materiais para usar:

Tinta acrílica (Liquitex “soft body”)*;

Pastel seco (Schmincke ou Prismacolor Nupastel)*;

Lápis de cor aquarelável (Fabercastel ou Derwent)*;

Caneta borracha para apagar os erros (porque pode ser afiada);

Luvas (branca de algodão ou cirúrgica descartável branca/sem cor);

Estilete tipo bisturi (para tirar cuidadosamente sujeira presa entre camadas de selante ou para picar o giz pastel);

Cola PVA (Tacky Glue da Aleene ou Elmers com secagem transparente)* - para aplicar os cílios;

Papel/cartolina (palheta pro giz pastel ou tinta);

Pinceis, caneta pincel extra fino, e pincel fofo;

Apontador de lápis (metálico de qualidade);

Álcool isopropílico 70% ou limpador e restaurador de pincel (Winsor & Newton)* .

Selantes para usar:

MSC Flat (Mr Super Clear);

Testors Dullcote;

Spray de finalização (Finishing Powder Spray) Zoukei-mura (ZM) 

OBS: Sempre usar do tipo “matte” ou “flat” para não ficar com aparência oleosa/brilhante.

Materiais para NUNCA usar:

Nada que contenha acetona, cera ou óleo;

Selante da Krylon ou Suvinil;

Lápis de cor normal;

Marcadores e hidrocores de nenhum tipo;

Tinta a base de óleo ou pastel óleo;

Maquiagem humana;

Removedor de esmalte;

Super cola/super bonde.
