“*Enough*, Markus” The man hissed “I am... I am unfit to be a father”

Markus stopped, frowning “What? Brother -Lukas- what on earth makes you think that?”

The elder twin’s fist clenched onto his sleeve “You didn’t see what I saw, when.. “ He shut his eyes, as if the memories flashed before him “I did nothing. She dragged her by her hair, she was... screaming and-”

“Luke” Markus grabbed his brother’s hand “That wasn’t your fault. Vanessa gave up her heart. She gave up all of her kindness and love. That is not your fault”

Lukas didn’t respond.

Markus sighed, and suddenly left.

Lukas wasn’t sure how long he’d been alone before he heard the familiar sound of small clicking shoes on hard wood floors

He looked up as the girls entered, their hands full of wildflowers

“Mister Markus said that somethin’ made you upset” Beatriz started, “And said that the only thing that’d help was flowers?”

“I thought he was lying” Hattie pointed out “but he insisted so uh..”

The man couldn’t hide a smile, seeming to finally exhale. “Well, he’s very smart” he finally stood up “Let’s find vases for those, hm? We’ll put them in my study”

“Wha- really?” Harriet seemed surprised “But they’re not anything special”

Lukas shook his head, reaching to take one of the flowers “They most definitely are” he assured with a soft smile “let’s go”

and uhhhh Kiwis are adorable! But all I can think about when I look at them is how they are pretty solidly the product of evolution and not intelligent design, and really only have made it this long due to no natural predators!

They carry eggs for at least two months, that grow to take up the whole of their thoracic cavity how do these birds even survive-

I'm curious; why so many avacado pits??? do you grow them???

...I may or may not have noticed that they look a heck-of-a-lot like deku seeds from Legend of Zelda and be planning to polish them, add some glitter, and hand out a few next time I cosplay Link at a convention. Everyone else in my family really enjoys avacados, so I got them by just stealing the pits and letting them dry in my room. They also look and feel neat, and make good bolder/rock props for action figure photography.

Aw, thanks for the concern! Fortunately(?) our basement has flooded so many times over the years that there’s literally nothing that can get water damage left in contact with the floor anymore! The issue is more that it’s ten to one AM at the moment, and Mom was understandably not happy to have me come downstairs to find her on the sofa unable to sleep and for me to then go into the basement and report back that there was a lot of water in it. This was not how she had envisioned her night going. On the plus side, I’m primarily nocturnal at the moment, so I had a clear head and plenty of energy to help her!
