I'm still super shaken up from that car crash last night. Like, I wasn't hurt or even involved in it, just the first responder, but I'm beating myself up so bad over how much I myself freaked out and could barely even do the most basic thing. They teach you all those things about first aid and I especially even did additional emergency aid training for when I was working on a cruise ship but when it actually come down to it and there was a woman walking up to me with a bloody leg I couldn't even think of unwrapping a basic bandage, just offering water and blankets and my car for shelter And everybody keeps telling me now that I did fine and that the most important part was that I did stop to help and call emergency services but I still feel so bad?

hey, just here to vent a little.

tw for medicine, side effects of medicine, death

i know someone who has been through hell because of a medicine they took that gave them so many fucked up side effects. i feel devastated for them. at the same time i feel so scared that i may happen to me or to someone close to me. i don't know this person that well. but it is so horrible. and lately so many people i know have fallen ill or have died or have gotten in accidents. i am starting to feel seriously afraid. i dunno. do you have any advice on how to deal with this? i will surely try to be close to those who are in this situations but i don't really know how to not always be scared and on edge about this.

I am not equipped to help you through the grief of losing several loved ones at once, and I totally understand that you're scared and worried. But the majority of bad side effects are incredibly rare, and it's very, very unlikely that one person having a bad reaction means that you also will. I get the worry, but it is very statistically unlikely. Most people who take medication don't experience severe side effects, and even the ones who do are usually okay once they stop taking the med. And it's like that with most scary things in life! I'm not gonna claim that bad things can't or won't happen to you, but we gotta find a way to take it all as it comes, because most of us do make it pretty far ❤️
