Okay, so BASICALLY; This Oc was based on the idea of "yeah the concept of hat kid being a little, feral space orphan doing a job is sad…. But what if they were actually separated from their colony (mom) after an space station accident involving a wormhole and needed to get back home instead?"

And what if their worried mother came to the planet they were on, looking for them after they'd JUST LEFT like a month or five ago? And now this poor mother, who's just looking for her child, has to deal with her child's friends(?) and/or enemies who are still processing the kid being gone.

… She also may or may not have to deal with some stupid AI that's been collecting any missing time pieces from Hat Kid's previous mishap.

When i was working on my AHIT OC kranch's profile, i edited together some pfps for some of the canon characters so that they don't just have transparent JPEGs as their picture in kranch's relationship tab and i thought i'd share them in case wants to see them by themselves (or hell...if you want a crappy edit of hat kid and bow kid that i made in 6 minutes as your pfp for whatever reason than be my guest)

Hi! You can call me Estee or Estee Barnes (my alias). I've been on Tumblr for a little while, but on a different account that I'm not sharing the URL of. This is my new blog for actually being myself and posting what I want!

This is my personal blog, so expect a big stew of everything I like. I do have sideblogs for some of my stories, but I'm not making those public. (Those are for if I ever get popular and need to separate them, anyway.)

I'm really hoping to make some mutuals or just have friendly people to interact with. I know there's a lot of cool people on this website from when I was on my other account.

I'm still very new to digital art, so I'm still getting used to all the functions. I'm also new-ish to shading stuff, so my light sources may seem a bit wonky. All part of the process! I'm mainly a traditional artist, but I'll be posting only digital art for the foreseeable future.

The little guy in my profile picture is my blog mascot. He's an old drawing of mine that I really liked, and his name is Smuffin. A general description of him is that he's a yellow-y Kirby looking thing (minus the hands/arms/whatever) with a long nose and a beanie with a white pom-pom.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy your time on this blog. My basic DNI is TERFs and whatnot. General bigots are not welcome here.

A Hat in Time OC timeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

AHiT OC profile: Fenton Solaraven, A.K.A. the Remnant Fenton was the personal knight of the Prince Luka of Subcon whom, he had been friends with for his entire life. Throughout the years, he had slowly began to fall in love with him, even though Luka was always interested in other people, so he had accepted that fact, and resolved to be the best friend he could be for Luka. The most important example of this is him requesting that the Princess Vanessa and Luka should meet up, and this resulted in Luka and Vanessa becoming mutually interested in each other. Even though Vanessa and Luka's relationship had started out as healthy, when Vanessa started to become more controlling, Fenton began to push against Vanessa's actions. Now deeply regretting his decision to introduce Vanessa to Luka, he began to try to convince Luka to break it off with Vanessa, to no avail. As Fenton kept insisting, and Luka kept dismissing, their friendship began to break down, and by the end of it, Luka ends up blowing up on Fenton, and has his knighthood revoked. Shaken to his core, but still determined to help his old friend, he effectively disappears from the public eye to collect dirt on Vanessa. The more unhinged Vanessa becomes, and the more dirt Fenton gets, the more paranoid he becomes. In complete belief that Vanessa knows of his goals and that she wants him dead, he lives in almost complete isolation, and when ever he's in a public space, he tries to be as anonymous as he can be. While he had seen a few of Vanessa's damaging deeds, he did not see any truly evil acts, nor did he have any advanced recording techniques or devices to capture convincing, incriminating evidence. He had to play the long game, where he had to have an abundance detailed records to put suspicion on Vanessa. However, Fenton had been right to be paranoid; Vanessa had heard of Fenton's attempts to convince Luka to break up with her, and when she heard he had been stripped of his knighthood from Luka, she hired an assassin to kill him. Because he had vanished from the public eye, he managed to evade death, but it only delayed the inevitable. He was ambushed, stabbed, and had his documented evidence destroyed. Left in his ransacked cave, he slowly died from blood loss.

Though, because this is Subcon, the subsequent corruption of Subcon's environment would end up reviving him eventually. Several hundred years after Subcon Kingdom's collapse, he had slowly been revived into a new undead form; a humanoid, ghostly body of charcoal coloring. Despite the high amount of confusion he was going through, the shock of Subcon's change stirred him into desperate investigation. Discovering the existence of Snatcher, his minions, the dwellers, and Vanessa's monstrous new form prompts him to investigate further.

Slowly, he pieces together what he can of the past, about what happened to make Subcon into the horrific landscape it is now. It was transformed because of Vanessa, and further perpetuated by the Snatcher. He snuck into the mansion to do so, through the basement, and when he found out that Luka had been chained up in there, he knew nothing was there anymore. Hope bloomed, as Luka could be some undead creature like him, and at least the two of them could reconcile and make the most out of the terrible situation of Subcon. A hope that slowly died the more he thought about what could've happened after Luka's escape. After everything that happened, Luka wouldn't abandon the souls of the villagers. Fenton knew that, but the only undead person that would fit that role would be Snatcher. It's a terrible yet completely reasonable possibility, and a flurry of emotions begin to boil within Fenton. No more would he reflect on the past, as nothing of the past remained in the present. Fenton, with a grim resolve, hides himself away, and began to train and reassemble his old equipment. To make Subcon better, Snatcher and Vanessa had to be stopped. So he continued to prepare for a hundred years, until a hatted girl descended from the sky and changed Subcon, along with the rest of the world. Believing it the right moment to make his presence known. To make things right.

Hello my friends, as of today I am opening 3 slots for writing commissions for 10 dollars each! Only for AHIT content. One slot has already been filled!

Finnegan Snowshoe

Finnegan Snowshoe is a silly little ice mouse guy (with He/They swag). He can come off as nonchalant or uncaring sometimes, often not taking anything seriously, but he means no harm.. mysterious fella. ever so slightly whimsical. a jokester, even.

They originated from a dream I had once in which he and Snatcher (but as a bird for some reason) met on the arctic cruise and had a bit of Unresolved Romantic Tension. and so I drew them when I woke up and things kinda spiraled from there. I like them… they're silly…:]

He is also Wanted by the Nyakuza and is basically on the run from them because he yoinked a few jewels from The Empress a while ago and. well. y'know. she did not like that. I feel like Finn has a habit of narrowly escaping death through cartoonish means like a Looney Tunes character. In situations where he's in danger he's calm and quick thinking, usually managing to trick his way out trouble (sometimes they also get out of trouble on Complete Accident. why do they keep almost dying,)

He hangs out in subcon forest after the cruise because 1. that is the last place ppl will go looking for him and 2. Snatcher unintentionally came across like he was inviting him to his forest and Finn likes bothering him because it's funny.

there is probably more Finnegan Snowshoe lore i am forgetting tbh but… here is my silly guy. You should vote for Finnegan as president of the United states 👍 mouseboy numero uno!!!!

Jasper the Painter Fox!

By all known laws of aviation, Jasper should not be able to fly. But his little wings hold him up anyway, because earth physics do not apply to creatures of the Horizon.

Jasper is a being that lives in the Horizon, painting pictures that will suck people into them. He's a mischievous spirit, always wanting to cause problems and mess with people. He's responsible for the brother of another oc of mine, Agent Buttons, going missing. Although technically he wouldn't say it's his fault, all he did was paint the painting!

Mateo!

Mateo is a fire spirit who was raised with others of his kind. He found himself sticking out from the rest, and instead of seeking death, he sought for exploration. He found a Subcon minion’s cloak, claimed it as his own and left Subcon Forest. After a while of struggling with Mafia grunts, getting caught up in a murder or crows, hanging out with a few mountain people, and somehow ending up on a ship sinking like the Titanic, he found himself in the Nyakuza Metro. 

Mateo found it to be a lot more appealing than the other places he’d been. It wasn’t daytime at all, there were colorful lights, and cats! During his wandering, he ends up getting jumped by a few masked cats with baseball bats and a taller one who went by the name ‘Empress’. He managed to flee from them after they realized they didn’t have anything valuable on them, but not without warning. He was to stay out of their fancy jewel business. Like they had plans to mess with gems.

Beta!

Beta is the protagonist of Haunted Hats; an AU with a few characters swapping roles, the most significant being that Hat, Bow, Timmy, and Mu are now the Subcon ghosts. Despite their age, they are what's known as a Time Guardian. She tends to any rips and tears in the time and frequently travels between timelines and universes to solve problems or do little maintenance checks. With this job comes the duty to protect special Time Pieces that are not only sacred artifacts, but the fuel to she and her friend's spaceship. Beta is quite the introverted hermit, not often leaving their spaceship to do anything else but time related tasks... They're quite nervous when it comes to talking to people who aren't their roommate, and prefer to avoid interaction and certain locations. However, when she loses her Time Pieces on accident, she doesn't have a choice! They're pretty awkward and shy at times, but she shows a sillier personality when around friends. They only speak through sign language. While anxious, Beta can be pretty direct and blunt in the way she speaks to others. She's lacking in the social skills department. But when they need to be, they can be an efficient and intelligent opponent.

Gruff and standoffish, Asmin is a nomad working in the Windmill. He doesn't spend much time with other nomads. He prefers working diligently and alone. Make no mistake however, he cares deeply and fully when you get to know him. He takes pride in his work at the Windmill. You can find him checking up on gears and moving hay to make sure it runs smoothly. If not working, you can find him weaving crowns for the goats out of hay and flowers. He loves cloudgazing and botany.

Her boss, Pavo is the legendary phoenix who has faded away over time who owns a magic pawn shop called "The Rising Phoenix". Together they're probably the worst treasure hunter duo. But hey they're catchphrase "We're professionals, we're not dead yet" still rings true for now.

Welcome Gallow! A charismatic yet malicious spirit that haunts the nooses hanging all around The Subcon Forest. Once locked away inside these cursed ropes, now he's free and out to cause trouble. He may be an evil spirit, but he looks a lot more scary than he really is, which he is completely aware of. His only magical power is to control his ropes and fast-travel between them. He's not above messing with someone weaker than him, but he wouldn't dare to pick a fight with anyone else.
