Kallista hastily blinked away the sweat that dripped down her face into her already blurred vision. Her eyes raked over the man with what vision she had. J. Fell. Officer. Unmanicured hands gripped her face away from her gaze on his uniform and brought her attention back towards his rather unfortunate face.

She could hardly fight against his hold, though his grip was rather pathetic compared to his quiet co-worker. Her lips curled up in disgust, the overwhelming smell of cigarettes and vervain on his lips harshly blew down on her. Nausea threatened to overwhelm her, the longer he loomed, the worse it became. Her weakened body was nothing but an obstacle to overcome and by the Nordic Gods, she would overcome it. If only to get rid of pests like him.

Blue eyes peer down at her, only serving to remind her of the utter child that had gotten her in this utterly embarrassing position. “Deceptive beasts, aren’t they?” His unchapped lips split when he smiled, cheeks reddening underneath the cold whip of wind of the night. “This one almost looks pretty. Human.”

Anger swirled in her belly, growing into something more as strong winds curled her around her, throwing her brown curls into her sweat soaked face. She could only laugh in his face, dry mouth causing her to sound deranged, the sound was not sweet nor kind, and it made her prey pause.

Blood would be split tonight and it would taste sweet on her tongue.

There was once a time Marie Kline had called Chrissy Cunningham a friend. Of course, that was the time before Chrissy began dating Marie's ex-boyfriend a mere twenty-three hours and forty-nine minutes after they'd broken up. Couldn't even wait the full twenty-four, she'd muttered bitterly under her breath. Marie and Jason never much liked each other towards the end – she'd been so distracted by the disappearance of her friend, Barb, and he, his... Whatever boys like Jason Carver cared about – but she'd at least expected him to extend the bare minimum of respect for what once was. She was gravely wrong.

And although she didn't much like Chrissy Cunningham anymore, either, she'd never wished death upon her. But death came as it so often did; unexpected, and ruinous. And the debris of Marie Kline's once happy and peaceful life – undone by her own hand when she'd handed her father, the mayor, over to the authorities – once again got turned upside down.

Marie hadn't expected the call. She thought her days of unravelling Hawkins' mysteries began and ended with the conspiracy and monster fight at Starcourt Mall. But when Steve Harrington called, she would never hesitate to answer. She owed him that.

But now, stuck in the boat house of some convicted pot dealer, Marie wished she hadn't answered. Because maybe then, she wouldn't be stuck babysitting the maybe-murderer and absolute menace that was Eddie fucking Munson. Maybe then, she wouldn't find herself doing anything and everything to keep him out of harm's way. Even if it meant putting herself in it.

“First of all, I want to thank you for meeting with me,” he said, looking between the two of them. “This isn’t typically customary for new students, but I would consider this to be something of a special case since you’re the first student with your… housing accommodations. How is that working out, May?”

“Great! Maggie is absolutely wonderful,” she assured him. “Generous, respectful, I honestly cannot say enough about how lovely it is having her around. I’m so glad you thought of us, Mr. Morita.”

Maggie’s face burned with May’s praise that she definitely didn’t deserve.

Morita smiled. “I’m truly delighted to hear that. And everything is going well with your — er, with the kids?”

Maggie didn’t notice his hesitation, but she did notice May’s, as well as the pause she took to gather her thoughts.

“Well, you know Peter, he’s always been such a sweet boy. He’s really taken up the mantle of being Maggie’s point guy, wouldn’t you say, hon? Helping her navigate the city and explaining things when she has questions, you know. It’s so great to see them together and I know Peter enjoys being able to help.”

“And… Juliette?”

May’s gaze slid over to meet Maggie’s. She pursed her lips. “Daisy is… not taking it as well.”

It was said that Lord Dayne wrote to his sister in the Westerlands, begging her to rein in her daughters and return to Dorne. At this time, Elyana Sand commanded the Lannister armies at the behest of her younger half-brother Tycho, whilst Ceridwen Rivers was known as the Red Rider with a dragon some claimed could turn invisible. Demelza vehemently refused her brother's request. They took my Rhyanon from me, she wrote back, and so I will take from them in return.
