So, in Brazilian reproductive rights news, the prosecutor of the case of the 11 year old raped pregnant girl kept in a shelter for weeks to be stopped from having her lawful abortion has now requested the remains of the fetus in order to investigate cause of death.
Even though the girl's abortion was legal (in Brazil, the procedure is allowed only in cases of rape, anencephaly, and risk to pregnant person health or life), prosecutor Mirela Dutra Alberton demands the verification of whether a procedure was performed to interrupt the heartbeat before the removal of the fetus.
Federal deputy Alexandre Padilha (Workers' Party) added to the representation in the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP) against prosecutor Mirela Dutra Alberton and judge Joana Ribeiro Zimmer, who infamously asked the victim if she could "hold on a little longer", if she had already thought of a name for the baby, and what the "father" thought of giving them up for adoption.
"As if the embarrassment of the raped child and his mother were not enough, now they seek to embarrass the health teams that were guaranteeing a legal right and not a crime. Criminalizing those who seek and who guarantee a right is a step to reduce access to it.", says Padilha.
Alberton has now left the case on June 30th, after two investigations on her conduct were open, One by the Internal Affairs Office of the Santa Catarina State Public Ministry and the other by the CNMP. Zimmer had left the case on June 15th due to a transference for a promotion.

Rimedio, Antinelli, Adani & friends si chiedevano perchè Zaniolo non fosse rimasto in ritiro nonostante l'infortunio alla caviglia/infiltrazioni al ginocchio, come hanno fatto Marcolino o Sirigu che nonostante fossero "'mezzi" infortunati sono rimasti col gruppo. Notavano come molti giocatori che arrivano a Coverciano un po' acciaccati, rimangono comunque a recuperare specialmente se hanno molte partite come in questo caso e più tempo per migliorare infortuni non gravi come quello che sembrava avere Zaniolo. Rimedio diceva che Zaniolo dovrebbe migliorare l'atteggiamento nei confronti della nazionale perchè il fatto che non fosse rimasto un secondo in più del dovuto, non ha dato un buon messaggio di attaccamento alla maglia ed è una cosa che giocatori di altre nazionali non farebbero mai (portava l'esempio delle nazionali sudamericane in cui i giocatori sono attaccatissimi alla maglia e anche se sono tutti rotti rimangono sempre ai ritiri) - diceva insomma che è la mentalità che deve cambiare, non solo per lui ma per tutti i giovani che non danno abbastanza importanza alla nazionale quando invece dev'essere un punto importante per ogni giocatore perchè i club vanno e vengono, ma la chiamata in nazionale è fondamentale per professionisti di livello come può essere Zaniolo. Antinelli diceva invece che probabilmente Zaniolo ha ancora paura di rompersi dopo i gravi infortuni e quindi non se l'è sentita di rimanere (oltre che per via del polverone mediatico degli ultimi giorni) ma che era un peccato perchè la nazionale poteva puntare su uno come lui che quando sta bene è validissimo. Hanno anche mandato un pezzo di intervista di Mancini che ha detto di aver parlato con Zaniolo appena arrivato a Coverciano e lui stesso gli aveva detto di non stare bene e che non se la sentiva di rimanere, Mancini non voleva forzarlo quindi l'ha lasciato andare.
