All I'm saying is that when Scooby Doo becomes public domain, I don't wanna see any low budget slashers. I wanna see the gang as immoral people who only hunt monsters for pay. I wanna see Scooby Doo in the style of Supernatural. Or Until Dawn. We already have series like Scoob and Shag and Mystery Inc (the fan series, not the official one) to show how to properly adapt a franchise in a cool new way. Now we must merely wait until you can do that, like, legally or whtv.

Happy Birthday Dean!
In honor of Dean’s 42nd birthday, I’ve written a little something. In this world, Dean never died and Cas was saved from the empty.

Dean rolled over with a yawn, arms reaching for the warmth of the body that should be beside him, but an empty bed greeted his efforts. He opened his eyes slowly and glanced toward the bottom of the bed, where Miracle still lay curled up, he raised his head when Dean shifted and Dean leaned forward to scratch him behind the ears.
“Come on, boy. You hungry for some breakfast?”
Miracle leaped from the bed at that, and Dean chuckled as he moved over to the dog food. With Miracle fed, Dean wrapped himself up in his robe and headed out of the room, wandering towards the kitchen.
The smell of bacon drew him in and he could hear muffled voices carrying down the hall. He shuffled into the kitchen, only to stop in the doorway.
“Good morning, Dean,” Cas said as he came up to give Dean a quick kiss.
“Morning,” Dean replied, his eyes were still fixed on the assortment of food that lay on the counter. There were pancakes, waffles, eggs, muffins, two plates of bacon, and something that was possibly a quiche. “What’s all this for?” he asked.
“Dude,” Sam chuckled as he moved out from behind the counter. “Did you seriously forget your own birthday?”
Birthday?
“Is it really?” He glanced at his watch to see that the date was indeed, the 24th of January. “Huh.”
Sam rolled his eyes. “Well, birthday boy, come and eat.”
Dean looked over the food, not sure where to start. He decided to have a little bit of everything and Sam and Cas joined him at the table, Cas placing a mug of coffee down in front of Dean with a soft smile.
“Thanks, Cas,” Dean grinned.
Breakfast was delicious, the pancakes were fluffy, the bacon was perfectly crispy, and he was comfortably full by the time they moved to clean up.
“Come with me,” Cas said softly in his ear as Sam turned on the sink to start washing dishes.
Dean followed Cas out of the kitchen and back into their room. The door shut with a click and then Cas pulled Dean in for a kiss. Dean hummed against his lips and when Cas pulled away, Dean chased after him, but Cas put a hand on his shoulder to stop him.
“I just wanted to give you your present, away from Sam’s prying eyes,” Cas said.
Dean raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
Cas chuckled and shook his head. “There’ll be time for that later, but what I got you, is a dinner date for two at a restaurant of your choosing.” Cas pulled a gift card from his coat pocket and handed it to Dean.
“Thanks, Cas,” he said, his heart filled with love for the man in front of him and he couldn’t resist pulling Cas back in for another kiss.
“We’ve got other presents in the library,” Cas murmured against Dean’s lips.
“Those can wait. You’re the best present I could ask for, Cas. Having you back, it’s all I could want.”
Dean buried himself in Cas’s arms, nosing at his neck and leaving soft kisses there. Cas let Dean kiss him anywhere and everywhere, and when they finally managed to get off each other, Sam had definitely had enough time to clear the dishes.
Dean headed towards the library, his fingers linked with Cas’s, and when they arrived, Dean’s jaw nearly dropped. The room was filled with people.
Eileen, Jody, Donna, the girls. Garth, Bess, and their kids. Bobby, Charlie, everyone from apocalypse world; it was overwhelming.
“Happy birthday!” they shouted as Dean entered.
Dean glanced at Cas, tears in his eyes. “You and Sam did all this?”
Cas nodded, tears of his own falling from the pools of his eyes. “Yes.”
“Thank you.” He pulled Cas into a hug and then allowed himself to be guided into a seat and handed a beer.
The day went by filled with games and laughter. Everyone brought something for Dean. Cas gave him Scooby Doo socks, which Dean laughed at but was secretly pleased with. “Thanks, babe,” he said as he kissed him.
Sam got him a new record player while Eileen supplied the Zeppelin vinyl to go on it. Donna got him a new shotgun. Claire, Alex, and Patience had all pitched in to buy him a fancy silver knife that had protective symbols carved into the handle. Jody got him multiple new flannels and a new FBI badge that looked far more official than the ones they’d been running around with for over a decade. Bobby got him a pair of boots and Charlie got him DVD’s for Game of Thrones as well as all the Lord of the Rings movies. Garth got Dean spark plugs, which caused Dean to burst out laughing.
“Just in case your car fails on you again,” he said.
“Thanks, Garth.” With gifts done, Dean leaned back in his chair and reached for Cas’s hand. “Thank you guys for all the gifts, they’re all really wonderful.”
“The day isn’t over yet,” Sam said as he entered the room carrying a pie with two candles sticking out of it, reading the number 42.
When everyone started to sing Happy Birthday to you, Dean sank into his seat in embarrassment. What the hell were you supposed to do when you were sung at anyway? When the singing stopped, Dean blew out the candles and everyone cheered.
Sam cut him a big slice of pie and Dean saw that it was cherry, his favorite. “Thanks, Sam,” he said as his brother set the plate in front of him. “I hope you guys don’t expect me to share!” he shouted out to the room.
“We wouldn’t dream of it,” Jody replied.
“I’ve got a big cake in the kitchen for everyone else,” Sam said as he clapped Dean on the back.
Dean grinned over his pie and glanced over at Cas, who was watching him fondly. Dean couldn’t believe how lucky he was, to be surrounded by so many people who cared about him, and loved him. He never thought it possible.
“Have you thought about where you want to go for dinner?” Cas asked.
“Somewhere with burgers,” Dean replied over a mouthful of pie.
“Of course,” Cas chuckled softly.
Dean swallowed his pie and then gave Cas his full attention. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Cas replied.
Dean kissed him slowly, letting their tongues dance around each other and when they pulled apart, and Dean returned to his pie, he held up his fork and offered it to Cas.
“I thought you didn’t share your pie,” Cas said with an amused smile.
“You’re the only exception,” Dean replied.
Cas beamed at him and opened his mouth, allowing Dean to feed him. Dean didn’t care that they were being disgustingly cute, he was too happy to care, he had everything he could possibly want. It was the best birthday he’d had in well… ever, and he hoped the day would never end.

The Kids Are Making Memories - Pt. 1
In honor of my babes @insomniasix, this is a little two part story I conjured up about the Ulric’s. It’s been a while so I hope you enjoy. ^^ Happy Birthday, Six.
Warnings: None | OC’s: Six Ulric & Muerlinian Zephyr | Word Count: 1,452
Tumblr media
May 2nd.
To the everyday inhabitants of Insomnia, this was just a regular day.
But to the Ulric household, it was a very special occasion.
Today was Six’s birthday.
...but to Nyx, it was the most stressful day of the year.
Six was never one for extravagant parties and gifts, which should’ve made this day easier for the young glaive in training.
But because she was so chill about it...he could never figure out what to get her and every year, it would end up being the same thing.
A 12 pack of beer and a box of cigarettes.
It even got to the point where she would even say “lookin’ forward to a cold one tonight” if she had to work that day.
Talk about lack luster.
But no more. This time, Nyx was determined to get her something special.
And with the help of Libertus and Crowe, he was sure he would find it. Even if it took him all day.
“I’ll see you later, baby”, Six gave her son a kiss on his forehead as she headed out for the day.
“Bye, mom”.
Once the door shut, Nyx immediately conference called his friends to head over before he leaped up to get dressed.
“Hey, did she leave?”, Libertus asked over the speaker.
“Just walked out the door”.
“Alright, Operation: Present Hunt is officially go”.
“Right”, Crowe chimed in, “so, where to first? Any ideas?”
“I can probably think of a few places by the time you guys show up”.
“Well, anything beats another year of beer and cigarettes. I mean, c’mon dude, it’s your mom for Gods’ sake”.
“I know, but hey, this time it’s gonna be real present”, Nyx smirked as he pulled his shirt over his head, before glancing back at his phone.
It was ringing?
Peering closer, he recognized the caller ID.
“Oh, hey guys, she’s calling me. Gimme a sec”, the young glaive-in-training put his friends on hold before answering.
“You’re really getting old. What’d you forget this time?”, Nyx jokingly greeted his mother.
“Oh, ha-ha. Talk to me when you actually beat me in training, ya little ass”, Six playfully retorted. “You didn’t make any plans today, did you?”
“Uhhh...nope”, Nyx hesitantly replied not wanting to give anything away. “Why?”
“I just wanted to make sure you remembered that you promised to babysit your sister today”.
...you...have got...to be kidding me...
“.....of course I didn’t forget”.
He totally did and Six could tell he wasn’t happy about it.
“I know she’s the BIGGEST inconvenience for you. Feeding her, putting her down for a nap, and watching Scooby Doo. She’s the WOOOORST”, Six sarcastically teased only receiving a light scoff and eye roll from her son.
“Yeah sounds like too much for me, maybe you should take her then”.
Although mostly joking, deep down he hoped Six would take the bait...
“I’m sure you’ll be fine”, Six chuckled. “Gotta go, kiddo. See ya tonight”.
“Right. Yeah...bye, mom”, he replied before hanging up.
Returning to the conference with his friends, “hey guys...?”
Nyx sighed in frustration as he glanced toward the little teal eyed girl standing at his doorway, hands clasped behind her back with the most innocent smile.
“...we may have a problem”.
Not even an hour later...
“Ugh! What is your problem?!”, Nyx groaned in irritation toward the little girl. “Why can’t you just go to sleep?!”
“I’m not tired! I wanna play!”, baby Muerlin stomped at her older brother, her chubby cheeks puffed out like some sort of cartoon character.
“Well, you can’t!! It’s nap time!!”
“You’re not the boss of me!!! YOU’RE JUST A BIG STUPID!!!”
“Listen, you little shit, I’m gonna count to 5 and your ass better be in that bed because I need to go and I can’t have you running rampant and tearing up the house!!!”
“NO!!!”, Muerlin shouted with a firm stomp of her tiny foot. “I WANNA PLAY AND IF YOU LEAVE, I’M TELLING MOM!!!”
“No, no, no!!”, Nyx demanded, “you say anything to mom, and everything is fucked so you keep your mouth shut!!”
“PLAY WITH ME!!!”
“I can’t, Muerlin!!!”
“WHY NOT?!”
“BECAUSE I GOTTA GO FIND MOM A BIRTHDAY PRES....ent...”, Nyx’s eyes widened at the little girl.
When he saw those giant lagoon eyes lit up with a huge gasp, he realized he had said way too much.
“Shit...”, Nyx swore under his breath.
“I WANNA GO, I WANNA GO, I WANNA GO, I WANNA GO!!!!”
Muerlin hopped in a circle around her brother. Her short messy silver hair bouncing as she bobbed in excitement around his legs.
“Hell, no!”
An harsh thud echoed down the hall with Muerlin standing completely still in front of her brother.
Her adorable gaze darkened into a deathly glare.
“I will already be killed you die in HERE. If anything happens to you out there, I won’t be able to come home”.
At that moment, it appeared that some of the lights had started flickering.
And although he couldn’t understand it, Nyx could’ve sworn he suddenly heard a low whirring followed by the light sparking of electricity...
Returning his gaze toward his sister standing in front of him, his heart began to sink in light fear once he noticed her eyes.
They glowed with a dark rage like some sort of daemon puppy.
“Oh, no. Not that. Don’t you start with that!”
The air around her became dense. Her fists clenched as the current flowing from her body started the rock the house.
“No no no....no no!!”, Nyx muttered as he tried to soothe her, while also backing up, bracing himself for what she was about to do.
He still had nightmares from last time.
The lights flickered on and off, the TV started to wig out. Nothing, but white noise and static coming from the speakers.
“Alright, I’ll play with you for a little bit. Whatever you want, huh? How’s that sound?”
Nyx tried to bargain, but he knew what she wanted.
But Six would kill him. She couldn’t come with him.
He lightly jumped when he saw the sparks crackle from her fists and float about her eyes.
It sounded as if the house was like the house was caving in on itself.
All the creaking, the crackling, the zipping and zapping.
It was like an earthquake within their walls and he actually found himself fearing the house would collapse.
“Hey, I know!! You can have my ice cream!! I ate yours yesterday so we’ll be even!!”
Muerlin started to shake.
Her silver locks beginning to rise from the static indicating he probably should’ve kept that one to himself.
The gravity fluctuation sent small objects and papers flying about the house. Everything was rattling. He could even hear car alarms from outside!
Nyx’s mind raced, he was running out of time. He had to come up with something to give her. Their neighborhood-no, their ENTIRE CITY was at stake.
“I GOT IT!!!”, he shouted proudly.
A brief pause with Muerlin’s slightly lifted gaze.
“I’LL STOP CALLING YOU A BOY!!!”
Muerlin’s glare had darkened more than it was before.
He had done it now.
The small child’s chest lifted with a slow, deep inhale.
“Muerlin, no...”.
Her chest rose higher.
“No no no”.
Higher.
“Nooo”.
Higher.
“NOOOO”.
After a brief pause, the most deafening scream erupted from the tiny girl’s lungs like a raging banshee roaring throughout the entire house sending the young man to his knees, clutching his head in agonizing pain.
It rattled his brain. He swore he could feel it melting.
Every time this happened, he wished for nothing more than Bahamut to put him out of his misery.
He couldn’t take it.
He knew there was only one thing to do.
30 minutes later...
“You have any idea that so called problem was before he hung up?”, Crowe asked Libertus as they stood beside the Ulric’s front door.
“Nah, but I guess we’re about to find out”, Libertus replies before ringing the doorbell.
After a couple minutes, a defeated Nyx emerged with a little silver haired girl on his broad shoulders.
“HI, CROWE!! HI, LIPOOTUS!!!”, Muerlin gleefully waves to Nyx’s friends.
“Can you hold still before I drop you?”, Nyx gripped.
“HEY!! Horses don’t talk!! Now, giddy up!!”, Muerlin demanded with a double heel kick to Nyx’s chest.
Crowe and Libertus winced upon the impact before a winded Nyx grunted, “let’s get this over with...”, before starting off toward the street.
“YEE-HAW!!! Get along lil’ dough-gie!!!”, Muerlin shouted in glee waving her arm over her head like she was spinning a lasso.
“We’re gonna get Momma the most rootin’ tootin’est present in all of Lucis!!! YEE-HAW!!!”
