I made a second flavor swapped Cookie thing, this time with seamoon

I again just needed something to draw. I was originally planning to draw berry flavored Dark Cacao, possibly with Dark Choco, but I couldn’t figure out what to draw them doing. I mean I could have just done head drawings, but the first one had an actual pose/scene going on, and so I wanted there to be an actual pose. Then I started thinking about maybe drawing a swap seamoon kiss

I was trying to figure out what other Legendaries I could swap them out with, and I thought of Fire Spirit and Wind Archer (or more accurately, their elements), and I was wondering if that might have some Icarus elements to it, and I got excited with that and other potential ideas and went for it

I was thinking of fire for Moonlight with the idea that the Wizards was using fire as their basis of research rather than the night sky. I haven’t entirely figured out whether Moonlight would be representative of the sun (would work for the Icarus idea), or if she was born out of the core of a volcano. I’m leaning more towards the latter though. As for Sea Fairy, I thought that the sky would be a suitable substitute for the sea, as they’re both large parts of the world and have various creatures associated with them. And again, possible association with fire/the sun. And possibly also because firewind

I definitely took more liberties with their designs than I did last time. It was likely in part because I was more focused on the elements than the specific characters these swaps were based on. Sea Fairy was more a mix of Wind Archer and Sugar Swan, with the design being more Sugar Swan and the colors more Wind Archer. I may be a known griper of Sugar Swan Cookie’s design, but she does have a deity look to her

The first thing I thought to do with Moonlight was to have her hair floating upwards, since she’s made of fire, and also it’d look good for the drawing. I didn’t draw her hat because I originally had forgotten about it, and then I thought that the hat would interfere with the hair. I did keep the bottom part though, and I guess it’s like some sort of tiara now. I think it looks good. I also added a cape because Fire Spirit has one, with it taking the place of her bottom half frills

I’ll be honest, some of these changes were just because I didn’t want to draw certain parts of the character, like Sea Fairy’s coral and such. I don’t think it looks too bad though

Yeah I guess I might make this a series then? I just make flavor swapped Cookies doing stuff? It’s not that bad a concept, and maybe it frees up my creative space from the perpetual fankid struggles. Also it could be better practice for posing and drawing characters together. I just have to be careful when swapping some Cookies though

(By the way I still want to draw berry Dark Cacao, but I still don’t know what to draw him doing, so you know. If you have ideas. Dark Choco can be in there too)

The elder cutscenes have something new in them. It shows the eden door and their 'line of light' appearing. Now, once you get to Eden, everything is already done except for the circle in the middle (I think), which I'd guess represents Eden. What's fun about this is that the Isle Elder has his own 'line of light', but instead of it emerging from a mask, it comes from the ground, he's the standing ground for the other elders to give their light basically. I like that detail.

So! Matpat has finally rejoined us!

Welcome back to the theorist crew, Matty. We've been busy in your absence.

Now the council will decide whether your theories are truly what we've been waiting for. ('The council' being, well, uh, just me, I guess.)

(At the time of writing this, Ranboo has not reacted to this video. If at any point he does, I will follow up on this post.)

Anyways.

(long post you know the drill)

The first section the video is Matt just recapping his past theory, about the two factions which he has now labelled as being Showfall and Generation Loss. These two factions have been fighting over who gets to say what in the media we're shown, with the Gen Loss crew overwriting Showfall's content with cutaways, red writing (origin of my Red Writing tag), and other such edits.

Note: I can understand Matpat's reasoning for calling that group Showfall. I wouldn't, I'd probably associate these guys with who I've been calling GIC's, but for the sake of clarity and consistency, I will be using Matpat's naming conventions. If I need to make a distinction between Matpat's names and Showfall the company or Generation Loss the show, the latter two will be highlighted in red and/or otherwise clarified.

Matpat states that he's done exactly what we've been tasked to do, and found The Founder. I will admit that I was very interested and dubious in this, given we have barely touched on that here. The most we have is that the Video taper showcased at the end could potentially be our guy, but that hasn't been set in stone as The Theory.

Matpat goes back to discussing the videos, specifically going back to T_2: The Inauguration, which he clarifies is about inaugurating us, the viewer, into the Generation Loss group.

OP of that post had interpreted it as a way for picking out the cast members for Showfall, whereas Matt has taken it as being a sort of recruitment for Generation Loss. I find this difference of opinion so entertaining, because in that case, both parties what you willing to kill another human being for the cause. Sounds about right! As for which one I think is true, well.... I kinda side more with Mat Pat on this one. The video, for one, is a Gen Zero video and Showfall (the company, not the GIC's) isn't part of this generation according to Ranboo (last I checked).

Still, it could apply to either group, and I really like that ambiguity.

The next thing Matpat discusses is The Social Experiments, giving a quick recap on what it was, that Hetch was supposedly helping him only to turn out to be Showfall, that we killed Ranboo live, (live). Only he thinks Ranboo didn't die, and that Ranboo is actually The Founder.

His reasoning and evidence for this is the following:

Ranboo, whilst trusting Hetch, didn't take Hetch's advice to do as the audience says, rather picking the wrong code so the alarm would be activated and the show could continue how Showfall planned it.

Ranboo purposely doesn't take the first exit sign post button push, rather he heads for Hetch door.

We were asked to kill the Founder, and who did we vote to kill in the end? RANBOO!

Ranboo purposely picked the wrong exit in the Closet, leading to Ethan's death.

Ranboo knows that Sneeg has been there for Six years, and accidentally slips this when they free him.

The Puzzler is scared of Ranboo and was scared that he killed Ranboo too early, which wasn't what was meant to happen, and he apologized for that. Also, the line "Well that's for you to know and me to find out".

Ranboo wants the audience to kill him, in a mix of " hey look at me I'm so christ-like!" and dying for your sins/getting us to do what we need to do to survive.

The Cutaways require Ranboo to be alive post-production in order for them to happen.

Ranboo is reorganising the footage for release as the founder's cut, making it sadder (MANIPULATION), and to change and add certain details to make it better (REWRITING THE TRUTH/CANON). also Ranboo may quietly delete the original VODs so they no longer can speak their truth (GASLIGHTING)

Now. Here's why I disagree with Matpat on this.

The reason Ranboo didn't take Hetch's advice was not because they wanted the show to go on and knew that "theorists" would hinder that by choosing the correct option. Rather, he didn't want to take advice from a faceless audience who have been the one's controlling his life for a long as he remembers. He isn't even aware that the audience is actively trying to save him the best they can, he just thinks they want him for entertainment. Hence, he makes the decision for himself with a 75% chance of failure and ends up setting off the alarm.

As for why Ranboo ignored the first exit sign, my own mask theory gives the reason for this: Ranboo was almost always being controlled or at the very least, having their perception altered so that the story would go as it was supposed to.

We've killed and/or seen the deaths of seven people over the course of this series (some even twice, or three times over!), and sure, Ranboo's death was a very big focal point, I don't think that meant they were the FOUNDER. if he was, I'm pretty sure that would of meant Gen Loss was over, done, we did the thing we were supposed to do and now can go on with our lives. But no, the show goes on. Ranboo was just the focal point of this particular story. (it's been mentioned by Hetch that this cast selection normally happens off-camera, but because of the novelty of this version, their gets to be live)

Ranboo picking the wrong door. Simple, he was being mind controlled then, which we know because of the lights and also the NPC voice going on then. I find it really interesting that Matt hasn't once mentioned the mind control aspects of the show, in any form it came up as. During those moments, yes they were continuing the story in a story way, but not because they were the one in control.

The Sneeg thing- I'm like 90% sure this was just Ranboo improv-ing, plus he said it in a questioning tone and followed it up with "I don't- I don't know..?" Idk, it sounds just a little to me that he doesn't know.

Now for the Puzzler. Dude's just incompetent at being a Saw guy, man. He did actually kill Ranboo in that moment, according to Ranboo (source: Going through my favourite bits!), so the "nearly killed his boss" is a bit of a iffy thing (even if the filter doesn't let him realise that he did actually kill Ranboo). he's just genuinely sorry about it as is. (again, he's just a goofy guy, who is heavily filtered like everyone else). Although I will admit that the "that's for you to know" line is definitely something. Personally, I'd like to think it was Showfall speaking through the Puzzler to the audience, without the puzzler realising the deeper meanings.

The reasoning for Ranboo dying. Matpat calls it as Ranboo making himself out to be Jesus like (and while, yeah CC Ranboo is basically doing that cause hell yeah), I think of it as Showfall showing off how in control they are, mimicking religious imagery (almost mockingly) and their apparent control over life and death. How God-like they are. So, we have similar ideas around this particular one, only we just differ on the one sending the message.

Matpat then compare's The Social Experiments to those of Stanley Milgram (who, coincidentally, A friend told me about the day this video was uploaded). And I agree! There are definitely a lot of similarities. The subjects are forced into a situation by an authority figure (the experimenter) of deciding the fate of another subject, to the point of inflicting pain that could cause death (only for the pain to be fake, and the whole situation fabricated).

Matpat and I agree, that Ranboo's death was faked. Well, sorta. But for veryyyy different reasons. Matt says it's because he's the Founder and needs to stay alive, while I say it's because Showfall like to reuse everything, so why waste a perfectly good body? (Clarification: Ranboo the person is dead. But their body is reused, either like Frank or as one of the Employees.)

With the cutaways? I think they were filmed before. Ranboo is completely under their control, so it's easy enough to make pre-prepared cutaways and then make their actors do certain things that make the cutaway make sense/relate to the show. especially with how meticulously planned this particular show is. Especially since this show is completely Live apart from the obviously cinematic stuff, but again, pre-recorded (either in-universe or because of IRL health and safety laws requiring that actors don't actually get smashed by anvils).

His whole founder's Cut idea is certainly something. However, the main reason for the founder's cut is to remove a lot of the livestream-y stuff, add in some of the things that got missed out the first time around because it just got skipped over in the live performance, and just tweaking a few things here and there so that we get the experience of Gen Loss we were always supposed to get. (yeah yeah it's rewriting the current Canon but not in THAT WAY). I actually have a couple of friends waiting on the founder's cut release purely because I suggested they do due to just how long and sometimes a little stuck in places the og is (as much as the first episode was great, they were in the kitchen for a LONG time, hell even the YouTube VOD skips out the Create a Creature bit). Also i would like to see Ranboo even TRY gaslighting us. Have you SEEN the amount of edits, scene packs, small detail discussions (my own Masterpost of small details for one.)

Final Notes

Now I don't know why Matpat didn't mention the whole mind control aspect, or why he wasn't apparently aware of certain details that Ranboo himself has confirmed, but honestly, even I'm not caught up on everything going on. I've got a private playlist on YouTube called "gen loss to watch" and wow I have not watched half of those. I also have the benefit of being focused on Gen loss, and not managing four channels each with a wide range of things to cover. That and the fact I'm constantly in the loop with all of you, and seeing what you all think.

AHFG anyways. No theory is a bad theory, and it was really nice to hear Matpat's thoughts on this, no matter how differing. Don't spread hate to him, and don't interpret this post as me hating on him. We're all just trying to solve this thing, and by god are we going to do it.

But hey. It's just a theory. A GAM- wait.

this may come off as just a little bit harsh but i would like to slam a brick against the head of whoever decided soundcloud should not ONLY have 30sec-long ads between songs for non-premium users, but ALSO make them as sonically unpleasant as humanly imaginable.

like yeah you're right i DON'T want to have loud toothbrushing and gargling ASMR blasted directly into my ears at 150% the volume of the song i was just listening to. you may think "great! now pay us for premium and we'll remove the worst audio ads you've ever heard :)" but literally all that makes me want to do is immediately close your app and find whatever alternative methods i can to never give you my money again

balcony talk

Thinking about how Tachibana’s 1 billion for Kiryu's life, and all the dinners, and showers are another nuclear hit on Majima's stubborn belief that Kiryu is straight.

But, you know… Talking about that time with Majima can lead Kiryu to realise that Tachibana might have had something for him. And that's all fun and games that open a whole new can of worms, oh boy.

And Kiryu didn't think about it all properly (didn’t think about it at all, really), of course he didn't. No processing of grief and trauma in this house yet. He just sits in a room, and has nightmares about it, our boy.

Maybe they were casually chatting, Majima was teasing Kiryu about the hot guy kinda courting him, but this, and just- the fact of talking about this part of his past overwhelmed Kiryu with the new thoughts, and he ran to the balcony to cool off and breathe. Majima followed, and brought the cigarettes.

He didn't expect his light teasing to turn into something so serious, and so he nuked both Kiryu and himself with the topic. Cheers.

But at least this can make Kiryu talk about those events, probably for the first time since it all happened. It was easy to brush away, since he passed all the stages of grief like a champ, really manly.

But the new perspective on how Tachibana might've felt makes thinking back inevitable and harder at the same time. It's so layered, complex. And Kiryu having this epiphany and talking about it tugs at Mama's insecurities and fears, but also… these are the Tachibana siblings.

This is that whole period of time, that story that Majima also never discussed with anyone. Because he, rightfully, knew nobody could understand it. But here Kiryu is. Here they both are. Starting the second shared pack of cigarettes, and not looking at the Millennium Tower.

And Kiryu casually says that he probably can still find the empty lot spot in the building, because to this day he sometimes dreams of running through the alleyways towards it. He can find it blindfolded, by this point (he's late every time in his dreams, too).

Kiryu can't really go there anymore, the place is gone. And it's weird, because it's not like he ever came back to that spot before, when it was there. Before prison, before everything.

But back then he always knew that he, at least, could. You know?

And Kiryu didn't even say goodbye? Or said much of anything? He just held dying Tachibana in the middle of the empty lot, while Makoto talked to him, and cried over him, because she had more rights to do all that than Kiryu did.

Because it was unfair, because they both did so much to get to this moment, and now it was slipping away, and Kiryu was too late, he couldn't stop the world grinding down on this, on something good that might've been.

At least Makoto is out there. Majima kept her safe, didn't he, Kiryu says (oh, g-d). He did. She can be out there, and find something good to have in her life again (Majima kept his Tachibana safe).

I bet it’s weird for Majima to think about Kiryu sitting there with Tachibanas dead body in his arms, while Makoto cried.

He was there for her, when Majima couldn’t be. She was not alone.

Majima is drowning in new context. After hearing that, after swallowing against the vertigo of the new perspective, he can even tell Kiryu about how Makoto is doing now, because. All of this is unpresidential. Reality shifting. The two of them aligned on this experience so long ago… And also, well. Kiryu deserves to know more.

He deserves to know that Makoto is safe, and that… even with that, it's still not the same. Everything.

I doubt that before this moment Majima really considered that Kiryu got hurt in that story as well. He knew it was very messy, and Dojima hunted Kiryu for sport, but he got out of it like a champ because of Kazama's help, didn't he?

This whole Tachibana connection is Kiryu's only, only Kiryu himself knows the extent of it. Like the whole Makoto connection is Majima's only. Only Nishiki and some real estate guys saw bits and pieces of their story. And Nishiki had his own arc, he barely even met Tachibana. Kiryu and Majima are both alone in knowing their own stories (Nishiki was really important to Kiryu in a different way, and for keeping his humanity in the end).

After that whole incident Kiryu went and dived head first in the yakuza life. He abandoned his hobbies and lots of his casual friends. All to become a strong and powerful yakuza. To not fail in protecting people he cares about anymore.

- It's very sad in retrospect, when in kiwami we learn what Kiryu did in the next 7 years after 0. He went into compensation even harder than it seemed. And then went to prison to do nothing but staring at the wall for 10 years.

And all that after he learned to live a civilian life! We saw that he grew up watching lieutenants, but then told Avano and Kuzoa he's not like them. It was such a contrast from the boy who screamed at dad that he wants to be respected, to be a part of dad's world.

He explicitly said it disgusts him now. And after that watching him rejoin was like the kick in the gut. "You can never escape this world".

Did Kiryu think being in the family will help him be on time next time something terrible happens? Because the thing is, he still didn't make it. He was late. Again. Yumi got hurt. Nishiki had to take the killing shot. But, see, Kiryu can still make it right, he can take penance. Because of course it's All His Fault.

– It all comes back to that fucking empty lot, to Tachibana. Who, as it turns out, maybe even loved him.

And Kiryu feels guilty and not guilty both, because despite everything he's still glad that throughout it all he met Majima.

Kiryu doesn't know what could've happened if he was there on time, if Tachibana survived, if everything was different and hurt less. But he does know that he likes that they are standing on the balcony now, smoking gazillion cigarettes in a row. Kiryu still likes being there with Majima.

(Yes, Majima. Kiryu is forreals. Majima's denial horse is getting obliterated, nearly complete defeat.)

Majima will need a solid moment to himself after this. Maybe a couple of days off, away. They both will need them, actually. It was a trip of a talk for both of them. Also they both smoked too much, and probably secretly cried, too, while looking pointedly away into the dark night (they leaned on the balcony railing facing in different directions, because of course).

– Honestly, I get watery eyes, thinking about Kiryu's Tachibana realisation, too. After Kiryu dived head first in queer culture, and started to realise how much he missed out on, didn't get to experience in life? It hits as hard as the news that Kazama killed his parents.

Tachibana taking him to dinners, counfinding his worries to Kiryu, trusting him with the most treasured parts of his life…

"So… did you care for him back?" – asks Majima, because he can't bring himself to say what he means directly. And Kiryu makes an incomprehensible noise, and asks "Did you care for her, too? Makoto." Majima inhales the smoke and holds it in until his lungs start to hurt before answering: “More than anything in the world.”

And it is true. She became the centre of his universe for some time.

“Never again,” he probably told himself, while continuing to wholeheartedly live for others only, neglecting himself.

– And Majima will spill his side of the story too. Right in the moment, after he heard everything. He understands now that Kiryu deserves to know it. It’s hard to get the words out, but Mfjima got to see this whole story clearer, got to know it in full with Kiryu’s perspective. Kiryu has the right to it too.

Kiryu put so much heart and effort into trying to bring Makoto to Tachibana, he deserves to know more about her.

Also with whom Majima will ever talk about all this? Again, there’s literally no one else who can get this, besides the two of them.

So Majima talks. Leaving out most of the details and awkwardly laughing when his own pov sounds a bit too pitiful. It is not about him, after all (it is). But the story itself makes things quite obvious.

Majima’s actions, what he actually did at any given moment is way more telling than what he was saying in the moment, or how he describes what happens years later.

– And yes, this is where Majima's "he's straight" horse in a hard hat got a major hit, and was taken down a notch. And Kiryu's stubborn attempts of going out on a limb and flirt suddenly became harder to ignore.

– Imagine, after the couple days Kiryu and Majima spent resting and re-evaluating things in the aftermath of the balcony talk, Kiryu is back again at Majima Construction. He's on a smoke break, still a bit distracted and absent minded, and he's patting himself looking for a lighter, a cigarette in his lips.

And Majima comes up to him and lights it. And they proceed to not talk at all, just stand there smoking together.

And Nishida, who was weary all these days, because boss was uncharacteristically quiet, and Kiryu was gone, is all "!!!!!!!"

Finally Nishida sees some progress. He needs a smoke too, now. Even though he doesn't smoke. Before this he saw them only standing near each other at a polite distance at best. There was at least 1 meter of suffering and consideration between them at all times. So Nishida is observing like a hawk. They're on 30 sm allowed distance now! That's a big step.

Musketeer: 30 sm isn't a very big step, isn't it? Nishida: 😑

I know he isn't, but Geprge looks like he's being tkled here and I cannot get over it.

okay like I said I've had this ss saved for so long bc I wanted to rant about it and then got distracted by a million other things but YOU ARE THE BEST FOR BRINGING IT UP <33333

like.....this is literally just them fighting and hitting each other with the stuffed spider man bUt LIKE?!!?!?!?

in the clip the spider man was stuck under george's arm. like, what if that in itself tkled??? and when dream tries to pull it out, it tks more, which is why his arm is immediately just pressed to his body??? he wants it out of there RIGHT NOW but he can't bring himself to lift his arm!!!

dream would catch on right away too - he'd see how george's arm slammed down the minute the plushie went under his arm and he'd know. and like......if ur a lil unhinged like me, you'll notice dream's left hand on george's back.....almost as if his fingers were digging into his back ribs.....

and...his right hand isn't visible but it's somewhere in the vicinity of where the plushie is under george's arm..... it's almost like....his hand could potentially be stuck under there as well.....oh no....... (:

queue extreme gogy cackles and intense squirms. and it's so quick too! he just does it for a second bc they're live and he doesn't want to actually embarrass george (yet). so he lingers for a second too long, but only long enough for george to realize that dream knows exactly what just happened and it wasn't just coincidental hand placements

my favorite part of this thing too is sap behind the two. his lil knowing smile, bc sap was the first to actually tk the hell out of george and knew how sensitive the poor lil kitten was!!!!! so his lil smirk just takes me the heck out, he is just so happy to watch dream find george's weakness

and you can bet after stream sap showed dream some things he learned from being alone with george in london (annnnnnnd he shows george some things he's learned from living with dream as well 😇)
