Oh my fucking god. Ok so we all know that Eda's curse is a metaphor for disability. And in the end Belos tried to use his "disability" as an excuse to his actions and EVEN COMPARES HIMSELF TO EDA. This perfectly shows explanation vs excuse. Eda never uses her curse as a excuse for her actions, holds herself accountable and tries to do good things, while Belos uses his curse as a scapegoat for his terrible actions even thought NONE OF HIS ACTIONS EVEN HAS TO DO WITH HIS CURSE!!!

Slightly off topic, but I am SO GLAD that the 'Luz is possessed by the Collector' theory turned out to be wrong

I may be wrong of course, but I've heard that the crew truly wanted to make the show darker after true colours, but that they weren't allowed. In retrospect, was it the right choice?
That depends on what was planned. I could easily see a version of S3 where the Plantars are taken more seriously, especially on Earth. If that's what was meant by that, I could see that improving the season. However, it would also mean that there wasn't as much balance against the shit Anne, Amphibia and her parents were going through so even that would require tweaking.
It's hard to speculate without more details, much like how people going "Dana wanted to make it darker" for TOH means absolutely nothing. Dark storytelling is too nebulous to convey anything by saying 'darker'. Like I talked about before, it's a description that inherently needs something to contrast against in order to actually mean anything. So this could mean that it would have been exactly like fans wanted where Anne is crying and mentioning Marcy every other line and that would have been AWFUL! But it could also mean they just wanted to do a little more about Anne having gone missing for months, how people react to that, and that was put on the cutting room floor which I am more mixed about. It's complicated like that, like most creative endeavors are.
I don't like to dwell on what ifs though for a story. The only perfect work is the one that is never made. It's part of why I actually feel really awkward about my concept pitch blogs. Those stories probably sound great to people but of course they do. It only has to tell you its themes and the highlights to sound really cool. It doesn't have to do the other 99% of the work to actually exist.
So sure, a darker S3 of Amphibia, or darker TOH, could have maybe been amazing but I don't care. We have to evaluate what exists because excusing it with what was intended is just a backhanded way to say they were bad at getting their point across with the story they did go with. Or, in the case of potential meddling, that they're bad at adaptation and need ideal circumstances to create which most creatives will tell you NEVER HAPPENS.
Almost no one gets the sort of blank checks Hideo Kojima gets given and despite those checks, his works are a still a complete mixed bag because, you know, they're still creative works. And again, just to drive this home: The only creative work that is perfect is the one that is never made.

Before I reblog more post about the TOH i just want to make clear I REALLY LIKED THE ENDING OF THE OWL HOUSE! IT WAS SUPER GOOD!
Like I'm usually super picky with endings but this felt very good and satisfying
To all those people saying it felt rushed and there were many plot threads loos Ei say WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING?
For a rushed/cancelled show i was really surprised it manges to solve most plot threads in just 44 minutes! Besides more lore ragarding the owl beast i don't think there was anything left unsolved! Each character arc was properly finished!
Like besides the owl beast my only gripe was we didn't get more content about Caleb Wittebane and everything that went down but I already expected that!
Like what I wanted was for Caleb to have his own voice and tell his story instead of it being told by others(and therefore warped) because I wanted people to truly knew him, and his legacy to not be tainted by below anymore (so hunter could see Caleb was more than just another witch hunter or for the clawthores to know his origin) but i always knew for that an episode a la A tale of two Stans would have need and that was possible with the cancellation/time constraints.
We already got a general idea of what happened with both the Hollow mind pictures and Masha's retelling of the story. It's not like we werent given info about we were just missing details.
But that's it! Details!
But that's something that wasn't as necessary for the plot.
As as much as it hurts me Caleb and his story also worked perfectly left as an open history (thus giving them more a sense of a folklore story that haunts the narrative)
It worked perfectly with the story and it's themes
Also something that can easily be inferred as something that was slowly recovered with Hunter and Luz and the Clawthornes researching more about the past) which they are shown to be doing! (Since Thanks to them Hunter was shown to be researching about Caleb and we know that Gus got Belos memories >
I didn't need an official confirmation of Evelyn being Clawthornes to know it, Danna left all the pieces there for us the viewers to pick it.
The same with what went down with Caleb in general.
The same to know Odalia and Alador got divorced and she was cut from her kids lives.
Raeda are together even if there wasn't a onscreen wedding.
The bat queen and it's palismen found a home.
Or how the fight between the archivist and the titans went.
Or the lore behind the archivists.
Even hootys Lore wasn't really needed for the show ending.
For such a short time they had Dana and the crew did an amazing work of closing on screen stuff that need to be closed that way and for less important things they left enough hints for us to viewers to pick up
LIKE THEY DIDNT HAVE TO BUT THE MADMEN MANAGED TO DO IT SQUEEZING EVERY SINGLE SECOND AND PIXEL THEY COULD!
That's an amazing feat!
For a rushed work the end product feels surprisingly complete and satisfying. very carefully crafted with all the love and care in the world

Managed to watch TOH live, now I'm back to sleep. It's 4am and uni makes you respect those rare times you get to do that XD I'd love to ramble about the story, animation, new designs, but I have just enough strength to simply say: Thank You.
That finale was... amazing, like the whole series. I wasn't there from the start, but I think I finally understand what a comfort show is. The crew did such an incredible job with what they were given and I'm so grateful for that. For the show, the love and respect they have for their audience and so much more.
I feel like those words don't express what I'm feeling right now. I don't think they can, but I'm sure You feel the same way. Even though TOH is over, I'm not sad. I'm happy we have it. There's a weird feeling of ease and comfort, which tells me the show had a good run.
Thank You For Watching 💜✨️

it's actually so messed up how disney treated toh they cut it short so they barely got to show any of their time in the human realm and while the crew did an amazing job they still should have gotten to tell their story and then when they release it they just stick it on youtube? that doesn't seem fair to the crew and all the hard work they did even with everything against them

I don't know if many of you know, but I'm also an Owl House fan as well. So you can imagine that this weekend has been an emotional beatdown essentially with RWBY and then The Owl House finale.
The Owl House is a show that absolutely deserved more time and space to tell its story and I'll forever be sad that it was cancelled before it had the chance to do that. This show means so much to me and I can't believe it's over, and I can't believe this chapter of these characters' lives is done.
But this finale served as a wonderful way to end it all off, and I'm also completely satisfied with everything. Maybe there are some loose ends, some things left unexplored, but with the time and space they were given, I could tell the team/crew put their hearts into this finale and capped off the whole show with a banger of an episode. It feels like a proper goodbye for a beautiful, amazing, important show that I'll remember forever in my heart. I was a sobbing mess once those credits were rolling and all the characters turned to say bye to US, the viewers, after sticking it out through this whole journey.
I'm going to miss TOH so much, and maybe there could be sequels or spinoffs or additional content in the future, but for now, this is goodbye The Owl House ❤️ it has been a pleasure watching.
Thank you for everything ❤️

Padmaavat Movie Review
Before reading the review there are few things i want to mention
I hardly watch bollywood movies and i especially don’t watch them in theaters (unless someone is paying for tickets)
This was the first time i was watching a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film in theater
Don’t be a grammer Nazi kyuki humko achaa angreji nahi aata hai
& This is the first time i’m writing a film review
Now
I’ve seen some of SLB sir’s movies before and i find them just ok, some of his movies are great though like Black and Devdas & also his movies have great production design, good music & cinematography but one thing i couldn’t bear in his movies are those hyper passionate cringy, cheezy lovers dialogues like
“Dushman se pyar nibhana har kisi ke bas ki baat nahi hai”
“Pyar ka karobaar toh bahut baar kiya hai ... magar pyar sirf ek baar”
“Ek baat hoti thi tab tum bahut yaad aati thi ... (kab) ... jab jab main saans leta tha tab tab”
They might be appealing to some people but they are a turn off for me.
Also i find SLB sir’s movies kind of unnecessarily lengthy with long song sequences & long slow motion shots
So for me a good SLB movie should have less cringy dialogue and it shouldn’t feel lengthy and here are the things that i found good and bad about Padmaavat
+VEs
1. Performances - Mashahallah!
SLB movies mostly have amazing performances and this one was no different. Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji stole the show, this must’ve been quite challenging role for him and he was amazing, in fact one of the best thing about the movie. Shahid as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Deepika as Padmaavati were good but, i hope they won’t get lost in others limelight, Jim Sarbh as Malik Kafur (good supporting actor) and one actor  (couldn’t find his real name) who played Guru Raghav Chetan were really good.
2. Dialogues - Kaafi Less Cringy
This doesn’t mean that there weren’t any cheesy dialogues but as compared to the quotes i shared above i felt this time the tone was turned down a notch instead some dialogues were even meaningful and added some weight to the situations
3. Not that Lengthy
Except for the song ‘Ghoomar’ and the starting credits i hardly felt any scene unnecessarily lengthy, maybe it was my curiosity to find something questionable (hope you guys are aware of the news) i don’t know but i was really invested into the movie. Although there are some issues with the story telling which i’ve discussed later below
4. Last Action Sequence -
There a finale fight sequence in the end (not huge), about which i won’t reveal much, was really well shot and probably one of the best fight scene i’ve seen in a bollywood movie in a long time
-VEs
1. Storytelling - Haryana Roadways
Movie starts with no intro and directly into scenes after scenes. Characters are given hardly anytime & Padmaatvati and Ratan Singh’s love story is given quite less time instead the run time is more focused on Khilji’s character. Movie is Padmaavat and in the second and third act for sometime we hardly see much of Deepika. Also the tone of movie is little uneven, in second and third act songs just come unnecessarily and comic scenes comes all of a sudden
2. CGI & 3D work - Ouch!
Maybe it was because i watched it in IMAX 3D but i noticed a lot of poor CGI and 3D work. In some scenes it felt like there’s a just pixelated picture in background and there was this one scene in the very end where 3D just failed. I know they announced the IMAX 3D and 3D release very few weeks before the release also with all the fuzz going around but why release in 3D at all a 2D release would’ve been fine.
Also i don’t know why for some reason every female character’s face in movie got a CGI fix which really looked noticable and felt like a snapchat face filter
3. Maybe a Lost Potential
I’ve heard some of the snippets of the original Padmaavati story and there were some really interesting bits in it. They could have added so much interesting stuff from it in movie but movie mostly focused on rivalry between Ratan Singh & Alauddin Khilji but its still redeeming cause SLB sir and his crew were attacked by sena people during the making so maybe to not draw too much attention they must’ve taken this decision who knows
CONCLUSION
Well if you are a
Ranveer Fan - You’re Going to Love It
Deepika, Shahid Fan - You’re Going To Like It
Bhansali Fan - Maybe Not
For those who are not anyone’s fan, It’s somewhere between an OK and a Good movie. Its an improvement from some perspective but not a big improvement and not a loss of hope for quality Indian Cinema
In the end how should i put this.....
Well i actually used one of my expiring voucher to book ticket and i had option to either book for “The Darkest Hour” or “Padmaavat” and after watching there was this teeny little part of me that was saying i should’ve used it to watch “The Darkest Hour” 😜
