Vibing to The Amazing Devil is tricky because one minute you're wreaking havoc on the high seas or fighting dragons in the fae realm then all of a sudden you're catapulted into a metaphorical therapist's chair where you have no choice but to confront your complicated feelings about your parents.

If you ever get upset that your art is not historically accurate enough, just remember Jan Matejko, who drew Vytautas in the cap of Volodymyr Monomakh, metal силянка on a neck, and with a belt inspired by the design of a lampshade that stood in Matejko's apartment.
Also, I bet he drew the Teutons flag as if Vytautas holds it on purpose. Oh, come on, man, Jagailo killed Vytautas's family and tried to kill him, what else Vytautas could do.

Something I hadn’t thought about before but when it hit me again twenty years later;
As kids, both myself and several girls from my primary school would talk about pregnancy and having babies and each and every one of us came to the same conclusion that if a doctor had to choose to save one, they should choose to save our babies.
In retrospect, I am horrified. Not horrified of my younger self and my playmates, but at the complete and utter lack of adult intervention. Us kids talked about this stuff WELL WITHIN hearing range of adults, be they parents, teachers or others. Not once do I remember any one of them interjecting and telling us not to think like that, or give us alternatives, challenge the mindset, or just, ANYTHING.
Terrifying. At six years old I wanted to die for my baby. And no one asked me to try to live for my baby instead. Oh no, instead the adults would smile or pat my cheek or call me noble.
I sincerely hope things have changed since then. I certainly have. I do want children of my own; but I’d prefer NOT DYING. And I never want to tell my children how noble dying in childbirth is…
