i fucking love abstract art that when you first look at it you go "what?" and then you learn the meaning behind it and it tears your heart to absolute shreds. i don't know much about art, but if it can bring me to tears, i don't see how it could be considered "not art". i don't care if "[you] could do that" would you? and if you did would it mean anything? you could physically do it sure, but will you? is your heart in it? could you even grasp the depth of feeling the artist is expressing?

I had this little idea/suggestion for the AU that I thought of after seeing the "Can't help myself" robot in a museum, made by Sun Yuan and Peng Yu.
The whole thing comes down to being a large mechanical claw with a brush on its end. There's a pool of very dark-red liquid around it which its made to push into a hole or container just around itself. Unfortunately, whenever it nearly has everything in, more red liquid seeps back out, and thus begins the endless cycle of its miserable existence, whilst people gaze upon it in its glass cage.
What if the toilets made museums where they showed off their history and belittled hardwares like this? For example, they strip the legs off of a large unit, give it a claw with a brush on its end, and force it to clean up whatevers on the floor. It could be trash the toilets throw at them, broken down shards of their fellow Alliance members who spoke out or a liquid similar to this.
anyway, just a little idea I thought I'd say :3
You, my good friend, scare me! Where did you even get this from??
Some more underground areas of the Skibiditopolis display such scenes, however, let's think of the children and not put such a barbaric show for all to see. Think of it like the forbidden part of Medival Times torture dungeon which (at least near me) has an age restriction to make sure little Timmy doesn't see the Iron Maiden.
So yes, sights like this are completely possible and do exist. The Skibidi were former humans so I would be surprised if such things DIDN'T exist.

How (Not) to Make Scrambled Eggs
* This is not about making eggs. *
How do you like your eggs in the morning? Hmm. Sounds delicious. Me? I don’t really have a preference. I don’t get the egg ick either. So, I think I will scramble some eggs this morning.
All right. Where’s the pan? Oh, right. There it is.
Get 2 eggs.
Crack the eggs into a bowl. Add a pinch of salt. Whisk the eggs. Set them aside for now.
You can add a dash of milk. I sometimes do. I won’t today. One day one of my best friends told me I could add half a tablespoon of yogurt into the eggs and then whisk it. I tried it. I remember liking it. I couldn’t really tell the difference but I think it was the extra mile I took for the eggs to taste nicer.
Add some butter to the pan. Bring it to a low heat. Let the butter melt.
I woke up really late this morning. I think my sleep schedule is going downhill again. And what was that last night? I tossed and turned. Couldn’t sleep for the life of me. I should stop drinking coffee past 6 p.m. That’s what my aunt says.
Right, the eggs! Have I already added salt? I don’t remember. I definitely didn’t. I can handle a bit too much salt anyway. It should be fine.
Add a pinch of salt to the egg mixture.
Is that the sound of butter burning?  &U$#!
Pour the eggs into the pan (quickly). Don’t stir them for a couple of seconds.
I really should start working out soon. I promised myself to lose weight last summer. I think I’ve gained a couple of pounds since then. Maybe I should add less butter when making my eggs in the morning. Oh! Let me chug a huge glass of water before breakfast, I heard that helps too! Yeah, that feels better. I should drink more water. That’s what my mom says.
Stir the eg--- So, Uhm, yeah. I let them be for too long. This is going to be an omelet now.
Stir the eggs anyway.
I guess I do have a preference for my eggs. Did I add salt by the way? Doesn’t matter. It’s too late for salt now. I’ll still eat it though.
Take the pan off the heat.
Serve your eggs on a plate.
Did I turn off the stove? Yes, I did. I sometimes forget to turn off the stove. I should get back into journaling. Why did I stop, again? I think at some point it felt like I was writing for an audience. I remember the phrase ‘’To live is to perform.’’ Who said that? * lemme google it real quick. *
Yes. Right. John Berger. Well, the quote isn’t actually his. He stated that a woman’s presence is intrinsic, a presence in which appearance becomes vital. But I think the quotes overlap in some way. Kinda. Idontknow. Should I write about this some time?
This just reminded me of Sun Yuan and Peng Yu’s ‘’Can't Help Myself,’’ I remember the first time I found out about the artwork and how much I wanted to crawl into myself and become an obscure mass where no one would be able to perceive me anymore. Not even myself.
Oh! Right, The eggs! Here goes nothing…
Well, they are too salty. And almost cold.

Hey! I wanted to know what you think is a good example of a design that also has a function (so not just a work of art that exists only for aesthetics). So random lol but doing a poll for a paper im writing & love your posts/eye for things
Hi/thank you! first of all sorry, your paper was probably due weeks ago.. i started answering this and got carried away and then forgot about it sitting in my drafts. Anyways I'm really sorry for this incredibly annoying opinion I'm about to give you: art that discovers or informs or evokes empathy is functional, just not in the same way that a plate or bowl is functional. off the top of my head "Girl I'd Drink Your Bathwater" by Ayana Evans, "I Can't Help Myself" by Sun Yuan and Peng Yu, Mire Lee's moving sculptures, Ben Laposky's Oscillations, or Kehind Wiley's paintings. photography is a great example too, so many projects are comprehensive documentations and inventories of information that might otherwise be lost forever if not for an artist deciding it had value.
Anyways to give you an actual answer i like that so many cultures are like. Let’s make dessert… shaped like a fish.

^ vintage kashigata (japanese cake mold), gelatin mold, french chocolate molds… there are also these vintage silver articulated fish which had various uses like a snuffbox, sewing kit, dry perfume container

also gyotaku (fish prints, literally) is a cool example bc it started as a way of documenting them but now is both art and also useful for science (link)
