Yami is literally so underrated, but she literally deserves the limelight. I mean, I don't really think someone could've done this role better than her (maybe Rani Mukherjee can), and Arun Govil, sir, as prime minister was seriously the role we all needed! As a proud Indian, I got tears in my eyes after watching this movie, and all the scenes in this movie gave me f-king goosebumps. I mean, this is a must-watch. Every Indian (no matter the caste, the religion, the post they are on, or the representative they vote for) should watch this movie if they want to know everything about Article 370. (And we all should know about Article 370 and all its clauses and subclauses and all the circumstances there were because of that.) At the end, this movie is the truth!

This is the challenge before us. How do you deal with a ruling dispensation that chooses to ignore the Constitution of India. Remember that the Constitution has not been amended since 2014 except in the case of abrogation of Article 370. All other changes we have seen by way of an attack have come through legislation and through ordinary practice. We know that the Constitution was the outcome of a struggle of the freedom movement. What that brought in was a Rule of Law. Today the rule of law is being ignored, and we have to confront the question are we a country of rule of law? In my view we are not. As lawyers, we have to play a very big role in defending the Constitution. We need to bond together and realise that we are at the cusp of history, where if we fail the nation, we only have ourselves to blame. All the challenges that have happened in the last 10 years have happened in the court and they will continue to happen in the court so long as the Constitution is attacked. Therefore, as lawyers we need to recognise the horrendous nature of our duty that is cast on our soldiers.

ARTICLE 370 ( 2024 )
Tumblr media
This is one of the great movies from Bollywood in recent times & one of the great political dramas too. For me, the depth in explaining everything about Article 370 & Yami Gautam's performance would be its main highlights.
All the actors have also portrayed their role well. Although the story gets predictable at many moments but they have done well in going to depths about how the whole process happened.
Also the music at some scenes were also really good. And another good thing is that it does not force any patriotism but delivers a good, intense & serious storyline.

In Defence Of Ladakh’s Movement For Constitutional Safeguards: A Balance Sheet Of Apprehensions And The Logic Of Demand
“Extinction of cultural identities through different means like displacement, and no safeguards in their preservation, particularly language, are not merely distant future realities. Such unfortunate realities have always found their place in the history of India. According to Ganesh Narayan Devy, a literary critic, India may have lost 220 languages since 1961 – a staggering and unfortunate state…

The silence of Kashmir, and the dangerous falsehoods of democracy, development, peace
As elections loom in India, eminent journalist Anuradha Bhasin, Editor Kashmir Times and a Knight Fellow at Stanford, questions whether hearts have really 'been won’ and ‘an era of progress established’ in her state?
The Indian state has papered over the silence of the media to push through a false narrative of development, democracy, and progress in Kashmir, making it a façade to hide the bigger picture. By Anuradha Bhasin  For Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kashmir continues to be an election prop. His chest-thumping about his ‘enthusiastic’ Kashmiri audience, which comprises forcibly corralled government…

The real story of prosecution of minorities by Hitler & the resemblance
Credit: quora The prosecution of minorities under Hitler’s regime, particularly targeting Jews, is a dark chapter in history. Government-friendly films are on the rise ahead of the 2024 Indian general elections
A few days before the release of Swatantra Veer Savarkar on March 22, actor-director Randeep Hooda courted controversy, stating, “If [activist and politician Vinayak Damodar] Savarkar had his way, our country would have become independent 35 years earlier. It was because of Mahatma Gandhi that we got freedom later.” A still from Swatantra Veer Savarkar  The statement didn’t go uncontested.…

“Kashmiris are free today….” Amit Shah talks about abrogating Article 370
On Tuesday, Union Minister Amit Shah gave a strong statement reiterating that Pakistan Occupied Kashmir is an Indian territory and all Hindus and Muslims living there are also Indians.
While answering a media query during a press conference Mr. Shah said, “The BJP and the entire Parliament believe that POK believes the POK is an integral part of India. The Muslims and the Hindus living in POK are also Indians and the land also belongs to India which has been illegally occupied by Pakistan. It is the goal of every Indian, every Kashmiri to get it back.”
He also said that the people of Kashmir Valley hold the wrong interpretation of Article 370 which now stands nullified after its abrogation.
“It was always said that once Article 370 is abrogated, the culture, language, and existence of Kashmiriyat will be threatened. It is now five years after the abrogation but nothing such has happened. Kashmiris are free today, the importance of the Kashmiri language, and food culture have enhanced and tourists are flocking to the tourist spots of Kashmir,” the minister said.
Mr. Shah also talked about different myths that revolve around Article 370. He said, “It was also said that lakhs of people would move to Kashmir threatening the very existence of Kashmiriyat that myth too stands busted today.”
“Under the shadows of Article 370, a separatist ideology was shaped and the youths of Jammu and Kashmir were dragged into terrorism. Pakistan misused this situation and in the last 4 decades, more than 40,000 youths lost their lives,” Shah said.
“But today Jammu and Kashmir is heading on the path of progress. Terrorism is seeing its fag end, stone-pelting has completely stopped. An anti-corruption bureau has been formed to stop corruption and people’s money is reaching the people,” the Union minister added.

EXCLUSIVE: Article 370 is still not cleared for release in Gulf countries; producer Lokesh Dhar says, “We don’t know the reason”
Yami Gautam Dhar starrer Article 370 has become a box office success in India.
Yami Gautam Dhar starrer Article 370 released in theatres on February 23. The film received a positive response and it has become a success at the box office. However, the movie has still not released in Gulf countries, contrary to some reports.
Tumblr media
The news is confirmed by the producer of Article 370 Lokesh Dhar of B62 Studios. Talking exclusively with Bollywood Hungama, he said, “There is a censor certification which happens in Gulf. The first time when we showed them the film, they said that the film is ineligible to be screened. Multiple countries said the same thing. Then a week later, they watched it again for a reconsideration. But again the result was the same.”
Lokesh Dhar added that they haven’t been given the reason for the same. “We don’t have a reason why they have said no,” he said. “But now we are in the fourth week of the release of the film. The film is not played there, so it is effectively banned (there). What is the reason, why they have done it (we don’t know). They have watched it twice. It’s very unfortunate. But there is not much we can do about it.”
Elaborating on the whole situation in the Gulf countries, he added, “As to my knowledge, the UAE censor board has screened it twice already. There are other Gulf states, which have screened it. They also said no to it. Then all the Gulf countries rely on each other boards and their opinions sometimes. Effectively what has happened is that our audience has been denied the viewing experience in these countries, which is very unfortunate.”
Lokesh Dhar added, “For us, we didn’t find anything in this film to be offensive. And if they found something offensive, we don’t know what the reason is.” Produced by B62 Studios and Jio Studios, Article 370 also stars Priyamani, Kiran Karmarkar, Arun Govil, Raj Arjun, among others.
