Something every one of us deserved was clingy Aiden.
We only got a bit of him at the end of NoI and now I'm starved of him.
I need more of Aiden sticking to Aru and refusing to let go, being super affectionate, and adoring her to death. Desperately trying to sweep her off her feet by doing a hilarious amount of PDA with her while she only needs to smirk at him to sweep him off of his.
He is the clingier one in their relationship. Canon. Period. Goodbye.

Aru's lucky that Aiden heard that prophecy because we all know that it would have taken years for him to confess his feelings for her otherwise. The boy is an expert at suppressing his emotions.

Imagine....
....an AU where Aru never lit the lamp, and subsequently never learned about the Otherworld and who she really is
I had to write down the idea and it somehow evolved into.... this
In this AU our lovely heroine is around 14-15, and living life as a loner, because after she refused to light the lamp that fateful day, she got labeled a liar and no one wanted to hang out with her
Her mom is also away on business trips, more so than ever because she’s getting more and more desperate to find the artifact that will help her keep both her daughter and her husband
So now she’s kind of like a jaded, cynical version of herself- she avoids attention like it’s one of those rats-with-wings (pigeons) and has loads of trust and family issues because hero(in)es with angst are close to my heart it’s only expected with her childhood and upbringing
Another thing worth mentioning: because her mother didn’t tell her anything about the Otherworld, she becomes the only Pandava unaware of who they really are (meaning all the rest have been claimed and instated as one of the heroes)
So because the Sleeper was never released, he can’t be the villain, and this leaves the role open for someone I wish we’d seen more of- Takshaka (I kinda hate him, but I feel like his arc, especially his hate of Arjuna and Indra in particular, is really interesting and something that could’ve been expanded on more in the books)
Istg y'all I have so many thoughts about this-
Should I write this out? I kinda wanna write this out

Hanhaki AU BUT, AND HEAR ME OUT, Aru is the one who gets it, and chooses to get surgery and forgets all about Aiden. Aiden is extremely confused and miserable, and then HE gets hanahaki as well. He comes to the realization that Aru had it.
One of the potatoes gives Aiden the letter Aru wrote, explaining everything before the surgery occurred. Aiden actually sobs, but decides not to get surgery and in the end confesses his feelings to her.
But once you get surgery, you can never love that person again.
Aiden knows this, but smiles as he closes his eyes for the last time.
But whoever said that was wrong. Aru regains her memories and realizes she still loves him.

One shot Idea: Aiden and Aru accidentally leave their daughter in the washing machine
I had a lot of fun writing this one! I tried to add in as much humour as possible, so here you go! Sorry if it's not what you wanted, lol. Thank you for the ask!
●●●●
Babies are tiny. That is a well-known fact that most people (especially parents) know. Aru and Aiden knew that too, but they hadn’t really accounted for the fact that they could do something this stupid.
But, in their defense, they had been really sleep-deprived.
Aiden cradled a crying Aabha in his arms, looking close to tears himself.
“Why won’t she stop?” Aru asked, her arm thrown over her eyes. “We fed her, changed her, but she just won’t sleep,”
“Reminds me of you,” Aiden snarked.
“I’m too tired to respond,” she groaned, curling up on the couch. Aiden sighed, and tried to sway his daughter, but the crying did not reduce.
Finally, she got up, and scooped up their daughter from his hands, before gently putting her in the cradle, bundling her in her blankets, till only the single strand of thin, wispy hair poked through them.
“What, do we let her cry herself to sleep?”
“She’s bound to get exhausted at some point,” Aru yawned. As it turned out, Aabha got tired of crying pretty quickly, and fell asleep. In this rare, blessed silence, Aru and Aiden collapsed on the couch too, after three consecutive sleepless nights, their exhausted bodies giving up.
They probably would’ve slept the entire day (or until Aabha’s next bout of crying started), but were rudely awakened by a phone call.
The first one to answer, Aru snatched her phone from the coffee table, glared at Mini’s contact, before hitting ‘Accept’.
“Mini.” Aru slurred. “What do you want?”
“While I appreciate you thinking I’m as pretty as Mini, no, actually, it’s Rudy,”
“Ugh, you. Why are you on my sister’s phone?”
“I lost mine.”
“What do you want?”
“Mini wanted to ask you if you’re up for game night, given how little you and Aiden are sleeping nowadays.”
Aru nudged Aiden, who awoke with a start. “What happened? Is it Aabha?”
“No, Mini and Rudy want to know if we’re up for game night.”
Aiden sighed, and shut his eyes again. “I think I’m going to sleep. Tell Mini I said hi. Tell Rudy that I’ve disowned him until he gives me my memory file from Shadowfax back,”
“You heard him,” Aru said, putting the phone to her ear. “Don’t think we’ll be coming. We’re just too tired. Plus, there’s the matter of finding a babysitter for Aabha— it’s just too stressful,”
“Oh. Okay, then. I’ll tell Mini. And, if you can tell Aiden that I’ve disowned him too, I’ll be very grateful. Bye!”
With a click, the call line disconnected, and while she was tempted to go back to sleep, the annoying feeling that she had left something unattended kept on bothering her, so she got up, cracking her knuckles, and checking the time.
5:20. Ah, she’d gotten a blissful ten minutes of sleep.
She glanced around the room, and groaned at the dirty clothes thrown around on random pieces of furniture. Laundry. Why?
She decided to not wake Aiden up, as he’d gotten no sleep last night, trying to coax Aabha into falling asleep.
She gathered all the dirty clothes, and dumped them next to Aabha’s cradle, till she felt something warm inside them. Panicked, she messed up the pile, and realized that Vajra had been buried under the stinky clothes. Putting the weapon on her wrist, it buzzed with indignation, but she ignored the tiny shock she received.
Sighing, she gathered up the pile again, and tiptoed into the kitchen, carefully placing it in the washing machine so that neither Aiden nor Aabha woke up (they both were exceptionally light sleepers).
She felt so tired, she could have readily collapsed on the kitchen floor, but then their doorbell rang.
Her nerves were already frayed, so she stumbled to the door, and yanked it open, to see… Mini and Rudy.
Confusion came at first, when she asked, “Mini, Rudy…? What are you doing here?”
Mini smirked, and spread her hands, “We came to save you! I was pretty sure you two weren’t getting enough sleep, what with the crying and whatnot, so Rudy and I decided to chip in!”
Relief came crashing down, as she pulled them into a grateful hug.
Mini shrieked, “Have you had a bath?!” While Rudy hissed, “You stink of baby food,”
“I don’t care— thank you both so much!”
Mini patted her on the back. “Go wake Aiden up.”
With all the noise, Aiden had woken up anyway, and scowled at the noise.
“Hi, Mini. Rudy, why are you here?”
“We’re here to babysit our niece, but most importantly, I’m going to teach her her first words: ‘Uncle Rudy’.”
Aiden scowled. “Absolutely not.”
“What a weird way to say ‘Thank you’.”
“I know you two are exhausted, but… you look like you could use a night to yourselves. Go out! Have a date! Relax! And don’t worry about Aabha, she’ll be fine!” Mini said, reassuringly.
“We’re professionals,” Rudy added.
“What about game night?”
“Brynne and Hira canceled, and we needed entertainment. That’s literally why we came here.” Rudy said, his arm slung around Mini’s shoulders.
————
Half an hour later, Aru and Aiden were ready. “I’ve put all the dirty clothes in the washing machine,” she told the other two, “you just have to put it on.”
That was all they’d managed to say before they were pushed out of the house.
“Kicked out of our own home,” Aiden mused.
“At least they’re helping us,”
“Rudy better not teach Aabha swear words,”
“He’s most likely to teach her his own name, and then have her say, ‘Uncle Rudy is awesome!’ or something along those lines,”
“Oh, no, that’s worse,”
————
Back in Aru’s and Aiden’s home, Mini grimaced at the messy state of the living room. “How do they live like this?”
Rudy who had been fiddling with his jewels, said, “I don’t know,”
Abruptly, he dropped one, and it let out a piercing shriek, one that resonated off the walls.
“Switch it off! It’ll wake the baby!”
He switched it off, but then frowned. “How did it not wake the baby?” He stared at the bundle of blankets in the cradle.
Mini walked up, and frowned at it, before poking it. The blankets fell open, revealing… no baby.
“Rudy,” she whispered, “Aabha’s missing,”
“Oh, no, no, no,” Rudy whispered, beginning to pace.
“Search the apartment. Now,”
Rudy had already begun tearing through the throw pillows. “It’s not even been half an hour! How did we lose their child this quickly?!”
“I DON’T KNOW!” she wailed, throwing the pillows and blankets from the cradle on the floor.
“Shouldn’t we call Aru and Aiden?”
“They’ll panic, and kill us, and—”
Rudy paused, stiffening. “Do you hear that?”
“What?”
“It sounds like crying.”
————
Aru and Aiden Shah-Acharya were enjoying a few seconds of silence and peace on their own, and what did they do?
They had hot-dogs from the stand which stood a few blocks away from their home.
They’d sat down on a bench, and Aiden rested his head on Aru’s shoulder. “I’m so tired,”
“Same,” she said, staring at the mustard-squiggles on the hotdog.
“It’s so nice and peaceful,” she continued, “I love Aabha with all my heart, but my head was going to explode in the house, with all the screaming,”
Their conversation was interrupted by a phone call from Mini.
“Oh, boy,” Aiden said, looking at the Caller ID. “What did they do?” Aru picked up the call, and before either of them had the chance to ask, they heard Mini shriek: “WHY THE FUCK WAS YOUR DAUGHTER IN THE WASHING MACHINE?!”

inspired by some tags @namesarehard123 added on a previous post of mine, I present to you:
How Aru Shah Rizzed Up Aiden Acharya
She made a playlist to serenade him to on the regular, with calendar reminders on different days telling her to sing certain songs at certain times. (this is the only way she uses her calendar)
Puns. All the time. It's the only way.
As much as it is Aiden's job to get her flowers and take her on dates, it's her's too!
Instead of flowers, it's an annotated LOTR book one time, or a journal where each page is filled with a love message, or a 'candy salad', complete with swedish fish, skittles, m&m's, gummy worms and Hershey's kisses.
she flirted with him for four books straight
Aru's very perceptive- she picks up when he gets into a mood, and can leave him alone, or talk him through his feelings too- Whatever he needs.
She showed up at his house one day after finals on 8 non-consecutive minutes of sleep and told him she loved him, then proceeded to chug a monster and pass out. It was wonderful.
She leaves sticky notes around the house and when he puts them all together, it creates a poem of whatever's on her mind
feel free to add more in the tags and thank you once again to @namesarehard123 for the idea!

No Control | Aiden Acharya
Aiden was now one hundred percent sure he had absolutely no control over his life.
First of all, he had to hang out with Rudy all the time. Which he wasn't mad about, per se, just annoyed. But, in all honesty, anyone would be annoyed if they had to hang out with their cousin all the time. And they'd be even more annoyed if that cousin had a crush on your best friend's sister.
Secondly, there was Aru. Aru also kind of tied in with the third thing that Aiden hated.
The prophecy.
It was probably the bane of his existence right now.
The prophecy stated, "Beware Aiden Acharya, the girl you love will be the death of you." Which was just wonderful because:
          1) He was going to die. He couldn't even convince himself that the prophecy wasn't about him because it mentioned him by name. There wasn't any false meaning to it. He couldn't read in between the lines. It was simple. He was going to die.
          2) It implied that he loved someone. Probably romantically. And there was only one person Aiden was avoiding for this reason.
Aru.
If Aiden was being completely honest with himself, he wasn't sure how he felt about Aru. It was just different from his other friends. There was something there that set her apart and made her shine.
But he couldn't be in love with her. Because he swore he was never going to fell in love. It didn't matter if she was Arjuna the Triumphant and he was Princess Draupadi. It didn't matter that his stomach turned every time their eyes met. He couldn't fall in love. If there was anything Aiden learned from his parents, it's that love always ended up in flames.
He remembered everything before the divorce. He remembered the arguments his parents had. He remembered the way his dad made him pick sides. He remembered leaving his house and going to Brynne's instead. He remembered taking long walks because he couldn't stay there any longer. He remembered worshiping those seven hours of school where he could be away from it all. He remembered how he'd turn up Taylor Swift to full volume to drown out the screams.
He still hated screams.
The fact that Aiden's mom had given up everything, literally everything, for his dad and it still wasn't enough? That was all the proof Aiden needed to know that love wasn't real.
So Aiden couldn't love Aru. It was as simple as that.
And if Aiden was being completely honest with himself (something he rarely did, it was easier to hide from your emotions), he was scared. He was so terrified that nausea was constantly rolling in his stomach and his heart had permanently pressed itself against his ribcage.
He was scared of his own emotions. He was scared to be alone with Aru because then everything just might spill out of him and he wouldn't be able to stop until everything was out in the open.
But his heart betrayed him. On her birthday, Aru had caught him alone. She had asked why he was avoiding her. What his problem was. She was angry. She asked if he hated her.
I could never hate you. Aiden had thought. That's the problem. Hate would be so much easier than love.
"Of course not." That was what he said instead.
Aru had gone into a whole rant about how Aiden was ignoring her. And it hurt. It hurt because Aiden knew it was all true, no matter how much he wanted to deny it. It hurt because he felt so guilty to see how much his fear had hurt her. Hurting Aru was the last thing he wanted to do.
And then, the worst yet best part, Aru had said she liked Aiden.
That was when Aiden betrayed himself. His heart was stronger than his head.
He kissed her.
But what about the prophecy? whispered a tiny voice in his mind.
Aiden didn’t care in that moment. But when he pulled away, he forgot about the prophecy. Because Aru's smile was so genuine and dorky and huge that Aiden fell in love with her all over again at that moment.
And then it all shattered.
But that was a different story.
But the thing was that he was caring now.
The point was, all of this is what had been going through Aiden's head the entire morning (and their wedding mission, of course). It had been going through his head since the second his mom woke him up and he brushed his teeth and rushed breakfast. It was the only thing on his mind when he got ready for the wedding his fellow Potatoes were going to crash and when his mom said she was coming with him. And he was agonizing over it right now, lying on his bed, about to walk across the street to Aru's house.
And then it finally hit him what he was supposed to do. He had to let go of Aru. He was going to have to backtrack, and say that kiss was a mistake. And doing that was going to kill him.
But it didn't really matter. He was going to die anyway because of the Girl He Loved.
He was going to die. Because of Aru.
Not because of Aru. Because he didn't love Aru.
Yes he did.
He just couldn't.

with people going back to school as holiday breaks end… u got any headcanons on the potatoes including Kara reaction as they prepared for the new semester?
It's been five years since I started higher education and those back to school ads still bringing the flashbacks. Lemme see what I can do:
House 1: Mindy
Mini: Ok, checklist. New pack of fully sharpened #2 pencils and pens?
Rudy: Check!
Mini: Six composition notebooks and folders color coded for our subjects?
Rudy: Check!
Mini: Emergency Aru Kit?
Rudy: Check!
Mini: Ok, we've got everything we need for school! Go get the backpacks.
*Rudy brings the backpacks*
Mini: Uh, Rudy...
Rudy: Yeah?
Mini: Did you label these backpacks yourself?
Rudy: Yeah, why?
*Backpacks labeled "Her King" in neon letters and "His Queen" in heavy metal*
Mini *blushing quietly*: No reason...
House 2: Hirynne
Brynne: Ok, that's my breakfast, my first in-between, my lunch, my second in-between, my after-school nosh, and my water. Am I missing anything?
Hira: It would help if you actually had something school-related?
Brynne: Oh duh!
Brynne: I forgot the apple for the teacher!
Hira: ...Just make sure you don't forget the Emergency Aru Kit...
House 3: Kara
Kara: Ok, that's my pencil case, my notebooks, my recreational books, and...darn it, where is it?
*Looks under her bed*
Kara: Oh there it is! Mini would be so upset if I lost it!
*Puts in her Emergency Aru Kit*
Kara: I can't wait for school to start again! I don't know if I'll be able to sleep *squeal*
House 4: Twins
Sheela: Nikita, do you really have to do that now? It's late!
Nikita: There is no way I'm starting the year with last year's wardrobe!
*Continues creating an entire new line*
Nikita: Anyway, don't put anymore pillows in your backpack. You got in trouble last time, remember?
Sheela: How is it my fault that the school system doesn't account for the developing adolescent brain's sleep schedule?
Nikita: Whatever, just don't forget the Emergency Aru Kit like last time.
Sheela: How could I? Mini gave each of us two of them!
Nikita: Didn't you lose one?
Sheela: Not important. Just hurry up and get to bed.
House 5: Aruden
Aiden: You've seriously gotta start getting your stuff together.
Aru: Why? I've got plenty of time and I made progress!
Aiden: It's the night before classes start and you've got one old pencil about a quarter its original size, no notebooks, and several candy wrappers in your backpack! What progress???
Aru: Well it got you to come over, didn't it Wifey?
Aiden: You can't seriously be trying to make your incompetence romantic right now...
Aru: Is it working?
Aiden: Why are you like this, Shah?
Aru: Because you love it, Acharya!
*Leans in for a kiss*
*Aiden stops her mouth with a wrapper*
Aiden: We may kiss when we get your backpack ready for school tomorrow.
Aru *pouting*: Aww, you're no fun.
Aiden: Do you wanna use up everyone's Emergency Aru Kit in one week again?
Aru: No...
Aiden: Alright then. Let's get you ready for school...

aru and aiden after nol
no criticism 👹
but like just imagine aru talking nonstop about something she did during the epilogue when aiden pulls aru’s chair so it’s closer to him (ILL NEVER FORGIVE CHOKSHI I NEED I REPEAT NEED MORE ARU AND AIDEN MOMENTS) he does that dimpled smile of his (cheeky mf) and says “why are you like this shah?” and pulls her in closer by the waist and kisses her like the pic above. i can’t imagine the aru brain freeze she would have.
also am i the only one salty about how we never got a aiden pov. I REALLY PLAYED MYSELF THINKING THERE WOULD BE ONE IN NOL.

Fanfic plot ig?
Had a weird epiphany where the Potatoes are like. masked heroes for their cities. (Atlanta, New York, and Houston).
Like, basically Miraculous, or Spiderman except their backstories are canon compliant; but the superhero thing is a gimmick for whichever monsters escape to the mortal world.
it was supposed to be a one-time thing at first, but then they were forced to go out in their masked form more, and they ended up with custom drinks in their names, and Aru and Mini are laughing their asses off at Brynne's drink: "WHY IS IT EXTRA VANILLA? I AM THE DARKEST, MOST RAGE FILLED PERSON THIS- STOP LAUGHING THE BOTH OF YOU, THIS ISN'T FUNNY"
nikita makes them fashionable costumes and masks to hide their identities
aiden is a highly-paid photojournalist as he can get close-up shots of the superheroine of Atlanta
rudy is managing the soundtrack of the upcoming documentary revolving around them (and is rumoured to be the secret lover of the superheroine of Houston)

What's In My Bag? With Aiden Acharya.
I promised that I would make this and @burntchickennugget2468 was so ready to draw it, which I love, so
let's get to it.
First, we have stim toys for Aru, for her incessant fidgeting. I know I've mentioned this before but holy CRAP. It is so hard to find supportive and accommodating partners when you have adhd, so hold on to him, Shah.
Tampons, pads. No explanation needed. He's surrounded by menstruators 90% of the time.
Adding onto the point above, he also carries midol and advil around when Aru mentions that she gets incapacitating cramps. @burntchickennugget2468 suggested pamphin for intense cramps, so that too!
cough drops. All the flavours.
Chewy granola bars that he restocks every time he goes out.
Swedish Fish. >:) no explanation needed.
Wire headphones. My boi is a classic man. Sure, he thinks airpods are cool and mighty useful, but something about the physical wire and not having rubber beads falling out of your skull every time you headbang too hard just appeals to him.
A polaroid of his mom and dad, back when they were still happy.
Keys to his mom's house and the museum.
Socks. Idk this is probably just me projecting, but with the amount of shenanigans the potatoes get up to, dry, clean socks seem to be invaluable.
A single purple glitter gel pen.
I don't think Shadowfx counts, since he wears it around his neck, but I think it goes in the bag every once in a while? (someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while since I read tpq)
hairties. So many. Not just for the girls- Rudy went through a shoulder-length hair phase, and Aiden's never recovered.
wet wipes. Do I need to explain? They get into some (a ton of) messes.
Let me know if I missed anything! This was kinda rushed, and I'm SURE there's more he can fit in that bag (stachel (purse)) of his.
