I think the timeskip at the end of Buddy Daddies was necessary. it was necessary to show that this family’s safety and happiness wasn’t short-lived, that they lived 10 years full of joy and love

if they had just ended the series without showing what the future holds, there would probably always be the lingering questions of “are they really free? are they safe?” and they preemptively answered with “yes. for ten years and many more in the future, these three are safe and happy”
