I feel like doing some liveblogging for today's entry because I love it a lot and I have Things To Say! Under a cut because this got longgggg

I'm sorry, those who have lived in Valinor do what now???? I don't remember this ever being mentioned anywhere else
'Frodo was now safe in the Last Homely House east of the Sea. That house was, as Bilbo had long ago reported, 'a perfect house, whether you like food or sleep or story-telling or singing, or just sitting and thinking best, or a pleasant mixture of them all'. Merely to be there was a cure for weariness, fear, and sadness.'
This makes me tear up and I'm not sure why.
This is one of my favorite chapters in the whole trilogy. I just love how warm it feels. It's like curling up with a cozy blanket and a warm drink on a winter evening, but it's also like sitting in the sun on a bright summer day with a cool breeze in your hair at the same time.
'In the middle of the table, against the woven cloths upon the wall, there was a chair under a canopy, and there sat a lady fair to look upon, and so like was she in form of womanhood to Elrond that Frodo guessed that she was one of his close kindred. Young she was and yet not so. The mention of Beorn's son and Bard's grandson being leaders of their respective folk really puts into perspective how the lifespans of Men compare to Dwarves and even Hobbits.

Actually obsessed with the Vibes of the Hall of Fire. It's one of the places in Middle Earth I would most like to visit. Also if it ever shows up in an adaptation I may perish of happiness.

Bilbo and Elrond's friendship means a great deal to me and I feel it is tragically underrated.
'Don't adventures ever have an end? I suppose not. Someone else always has to carry on the story.'
Oh no here come the tears again.
'Strider!' said Frodo. 'You seem to have a lot of names.'
Oh Frodo you haven't heard the half of it yet... Also this has been pointed out many times before but I love that Aragorn remains Strider to the hobbits long after they learn his true name. It's really cute <333
He turned to Strider. 'Where have you been, my friend? Why weren't you at the feast? The Lady Arwen was there.'
Strider looked down at Bilbo gravely. 'I know,' he said. 'But often I must put mirth aside. Elladan and Elrohir have returned out of the Wild unlooked-for, and they had tidings that I wished to hear at once.'
*sigh* can't believe the Plot is making Aragorn miss out on quality time with his wifey :(( Also, twins mention!!! I love the twins dearly (mostly because of One Specific Fanfiction)
Near him sat the Lady Arwen. To his surprise Frodo saw that Aragorn stood beside her; his dark cloak was thrown back, and he seemed to be clad in elven-mail, and a star shone on his breast. They spoke together, and then suddenly it seemed to Frodo that Arwen turned towards him, and the light of her eyes fell on him from afar and pierced his heart.
THEY'RE TOGETHER!!!!! One of these days you will be getting my essay on Arwen's Presence in the narrative and that is a threat. Also she and Frodo have interesting potential as a dynamic. Also also if she looked directly at me my heart would also be very much pierced <333

In which we try to do something with the Patreon
I'm gonna try something tomorrow: the first of the month is when the Patreon billing cycle starts, so on Sunday (October 1st), I'll open a $5 level. (Right now I just have a $1 level with tumbleweed rolling by as a tip jar sort of thing.) There, you'll be able to see Effort Posts, you know, the essay-length things about vampires or perfume or music, or anything else that strikes me, early. At least 24 hours early, in a handy PDF file, and also, I can see if people like the piece before I post it here on Tumblr. Some personal pieces may stay Patreon-only, depending on the topic (do I want Tumblr at large commenting on my genealogical research? Probably not!), so there's also that. Similar things I've already posted are the Varney recaps, Donna Summer and Disco Demolition Night, Sparking Joy (Jean Patou, 1930), or my retelling of Tiny Moist Hand, so that's the kind of thing you'd see early.
That up there, in screenshot preview format, is a two-part (true) story called "I Grew Up in a Haunted House and I Didn't Notice"; it's about 5300 words all told. (Question: would you rather have the pdf in the larger font size, which I found easier to read on mobile, or the standard 12 pt, both shown above?)
After a day or so, I'll put the story here as two normal tumblr posts. So you will be able to see them here, but if you want to know how tf I could have been haunted and not known it and then my sister said I had it all wrong anyway, you can see it tomorrow on Patreon Dot Com Slash Cleolinda.
What I would also like to do is start posting weekend links as free/public posts on Sundays--kind of like a newsletter you can get whether you chip anything in or not. I'm more concerned with people knowing where I am while all these social media platforms crumble into the sea, honestly. I'll also archive some older posts as PDFs as well, although that might take a minute, so there'll be a back catalogue to browse.
As we go along, I'd like to see if I can either record some readings or just do short (under five minutes) voice posts, but I would also want to type up transcripts for those, so I need to get a feel for how much time that takes. I miss doing podcasts, although I deeply need to get a new headset. And some Throat Coat. I'm already looking over the two short Halloween stories from Livejournal that people mentioned, the ones I read aloud years ago; I'll repost those as we get further into October, and I have some posts about scary movies in the works. And you'd get those delivered to your inbox rather than them be solely awash on the waves of Tumblr.
Anyway, I'll reblog this tomorrow once the $5 level goes live, but I thought I'd get some feedback a bit in advance.

I know I am supposed to be on hiatus but I did say I'd come back to post if anything of significance happened and I do think what is going on right now is suspicious enough to be significant. I also think it's a good topic of conversation so let's start one:
Today Jess shared this to her story. These are from the same post by hypebae on Instagram, an account that Jess doesn't even follow (nor does this post mention her directly in a tag) though it does mention Renell. Oddly enough, Jess did not do her usual thing, which would be what?
Stealing a photo, posting it as if she owned it, and tagging a bunch of people as well as including her little "post-production by ice studios" tag.
The last time Jess did this was when she posted a story with a GQ magazine cover and she shamelessly claimed Ice Studios as "post-production" in a tag with a few other people. Even though the actual post did not acknowledge her or Ice Studios for that matter. [Source]
Shortly before this story, however, Jess made a few posts that were literal duds on social media...compared to her other stolen photo posts which tend to do slightly better but not by much. I'm, of course, talking about the series of photos she posted that all got less than 10 comments, some of them only getting 1 or 2. [Source]
In mid-December, it was noted that Jess had lost quite a few followers she was down from 42K to 41K. [Source] That was noticed on the same day that she had posted the GQ story (instead of making it an actual post as she usually would). Which means that her follower count started to drop around the time she posted that series of photos that got barely any likes, comments, or attention from anyone other than bots or her very own stans.
A few days later it was noticed that the Ice Studios shop was locked down. If you try to access it you will only get a page that says to enter a password (that is if you go by following the link on Jess's account) but if you type in the address directly you will be prompted to sign up for their newsletter. There is no possible way to access the store to buy anything.
This is concerning in the way that only days before this happened, they appeared to have sold out of a bunch of their merchandise (the Flintstone beanies they sell for far too much money). What does this shop shutdown mean? Does it mean they intend to send out the merchandise? Who do people contact if they paid $100 for one of these hats but didn't get one? Did they take the money, close shop, and run? Did they sell anything to begin with? All of this happened amidst Jess losing around 700 followers in less than two months.
From December 19th when she was at 41K to this post she has lost around 2000 followers total because she definitely used to have at least 42K and this all happened incredibly quickly. Even Jess's IG story spam of her snowboarding with Jamie holiday and the actual post only seemed to decrease her follower count faster and she's certainly not regaining people either.
This definitely indicates something significant is going on with Jess. Especially considering that Jamie returned to Mt. Bachelor (where he had been before on holiday) without Jess being with him, appearing much happier and having a lot more fun than his holiday with her over the New Year (if it even happened then because we know that Jess is known to recycle old material when she needs to).
This has led me to come up with a few theories on what may be going on to cause this behaviour on her part but keep in mind they are only theories and if anyone else has any insight I'd love to hear it as well.
Somehow, for some reason, Jess got in trouble posting those stolen photos finally. Either it was when she posted the photos that got little to no engagement, or shortly before. She is possibly in hot water over stolen intellectual property and has been warned about posting it and tagging Ice Studios or (worst case scenario) someone has thrown a lawsuit in her direction.
Business with Ice Studios has gone bad or she's parting ways with Renell and/or someone else is taking over control of the website and getting it away from Jess. I know Jess did go on to "promote" Ice merchandise in two of her stories after the site was locked down but Jess also wouldn't want anyone to know that she is a phony or losing her business title so obviously, she'd keep acting like nothing was wrong.
Jess is officially unemployed and losing her connections with everyone. This may have been indicated by her staging a story to get the attention of a company called Lede and kissing up to someone in their marketing department who she very, very recently followed. Whatever the case, something she has done has alienated her even more from what connections she did have and she's blatantly trying to make new ones.
Jamie and Jess are broken up behind the scenes and people in the know are aware of it thus the people who felt obligated to give her a follow unfollowing her in droves. Once again, if this is the case, Jess would most certainly go out of her way to make sure no one publicly found out they split because her entire reputation/fame/income relies on being Jamie's perfect little "witchy girlfriend".
These are the theories I have come up with. It could be one of these things, could be a combination of these things, or I could be completely wrong about all of it. The only thing I can say for certain (as I've said before) is that I'm sure my blog has very little influence over her account or popularity (if it has any at all). This means that her loss of a couple thousand followers in a very short period must have to do with something happening in her personal life and it's obviously not something very good. What does everyone else think? Do you have better theories? More receipts? Do you agree with one of these theories more than the rest? I'd love to hear your thoughts as well.

And it is in this type of fandom that the fair weather blowhards dig their lil heels in deeper for their problematic fave’s microwavable take. And yes I am mostly still talking about the Roisin Murphy subreddit. At least the Of Montreal subreddit has the ongoing mildly amusing gag of people asking “Where is a good park I can visit?” Or “airbnbs closed to the Airport,” inquiries of would be Canadian tourists. Ah to live a life so low stakes that traveling to Canada is something you do just for fun.
It was reported that Roisin Murphy’s former label Ninja Tune was going to donate all proceeds to a trans health organization. No name of an organization was given and it turned out to be yet another bad piece of PR. A screen grab of a Roisin Murphy reply confirming that Ninja Tune is not diverting funds from her album. And unless you have an X account I can’t read this reply. Why oh why be a reply person. Why oh why comment at all.
I stand with no one. Especially not jerks that have any concern about someone’s tran-ness or personal bodily autonomy choices. Yes I will patron an artist I support. And that’s usually just podcast men or newsletter garbage men. But I will stream your album on Apple. And leave it at that. I won’t be assimilated into someone else’s worthless cause. Fandom should not be labor. Fandom is a state of mind. I concede fandom is labor, an exhausting emotional labor taxing upon the very soul. Keep it silly season. Put on anatomical lung shapes sunglasses and walk off into the overly bright dawn.

🎮 Where's My Controller?
Duelyst 2 came out this week. I was disappointed when the original was shut down. Duelyst 2 is a tactical turn-based card game on a grid. I gather that this sequel is a fan-made resurrection, so I will have to see how it is managed going forward. I enjoy this game, and you should check it out on Steam.
I've also been playing Marvel Snap. It is a fun game, but ranking up to get new cards feels like a slog. Actual PVP is set to be released sometime in the future. Right now, you are matched up against persons with similar ranks, and you grind levels to get to max rank. There aren't any ladders, so to speak.

First and foremost, special thank you to @ladymarinenc and @tonksiefea for their help with the summaries for all the YT News vids...I very much appreciate it. There’s a lot to cover there, and I have to break the stories down over a couple of days, as Tumblr will only allow so many video links in one post...and I have some new info revealed in the Editors Notes...let’s get into it!
We have several different topics to get to today...and I’m gonna start with the one that is likely the least concerning. The Book Cancellation. (Which is once again Darth Kennedy the Moronic putting her projects before others). It seems Darth Kennedy the Moronic does not have an understanding of where to go with from here and has lost the plot with Mandalorian.

And now for the big news story of the day. The shareholder’s meeting. Bob Cheapskate was asked point blank about Gina being fired, and the possibility of Darth Kathleen the Hypocritical getting fired. His answers were less than stellar for both, and the Star Wars community is in an utter uproar. They claim there’s no Civil War going on....yet Bob’s answers point to the exact opposite. Our anchors couldn’t wait to weigh in.
Drunk 3P0 had a lot to say on the subject, and he’s been around Disney’s cast members more than most.
Mr. Chapek said Tuesday in the annual shareholder meeting that he “doesn’t see Disney as characterizing itself as left-leaning or right-leaning” when responding to a shareholder who accused Hollywood and the company of a double standard in firing Gina Carano from the Mandalorian because she’s a conservative.
While not speaking about the Gina Carano incident directly, he did say “Disney stands for values that are universal: respect, decency, integrity and inclusion and we seek to have the same content that we make reflective of the rich diversity of the world we live in. And I think that’s a world we should all live in harmony and peace.”
Jay has plenty of videos on his channel that show proof showing employees of Lucasfilm and how they do NOT fit into those Disney values. Behind the scenes can be much worse than we may think or Bob could just be “full of crap”.

I’d mention that I have a strong attachment to my family, especially my extended family (its true). It started when I became closed off and prone to crying, scholar and the 10 will become increasingly concerned, but Ellie was the first to find out. Scholar know that I never reveal too much about myself, but I know too much of others (like Neha’s status). When I finally open up that a close relative of mine passed away, the 10 finally saw how I actually feel for once. My emotions cannot be handled in a healthy way, so I just lash out. Eventually getting in a fight with Karolina. She said that seeing me geniunely angry was one of the scariest things she had ever seen. Scholar will soon confront me, and I’d let it out. On how I can’t go back home to hug my family and properly mourn. The 10 help set up with a virtual funeral, so I can still be there. My arc being resolved. They would like me because I often make jokes that fits any kind of scenario (I actually do that). I would often rant about my stories, so they might find me endearing or cute because I love my characters from it. I’m also emotionally intelligent, so I often comfort Scholar, and know how they feel (I’d do that for my friends).
Why they would not like me, is because I never reveal anything personal. Compared to the others, who casually mention it sometimes (ie: Tadashi saying he is part of the Nakano family). I wouldn’t say about how I’m actually feeling or issues, but after my arc; I’d slowly open up.

Would ending anonymity make social media better? In a word, no

Whenever the subject of disinformation, hate speech, or harassment on social-media platforms comes up, someone inevitably suggests all of these problems could be solved if Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram outlawed anonymity and forced users to sign up using their real names. The past week has seen a revival of this argument from a number of corners: In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, Andy Kessler said that trying to solve these problems by tweaking Section 230 — the clause in the Communications Decency Act that gives digital platforms protection from liability for content they host — would be too difficult, and so ending anonymity is the only solution. The “know your customer” rule for Wall Street is designed to stop money laundering, Kessler suggested, so “maybe it can work for rhetoric laundering.” At the very least, he said, it would make it easier for people to sue random Twitter users for defamation, etc.
How would verifying the identity of social-media users be accomplished exactly? Kessler doesn’t really know. “Require a credit card, like Apple does to use its app store? Maybe,” he writes. “A driver’s license? Passport? A trip to the post office or DMV?” The idea that someone would have to upload their passport or driver’s license in order to tweet seems so absurd as to be laughable, but Kessler has some company in his dislike of anonymity on social networks: Citing the article in a tweet, Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin, chairman of the Senate’s Homeland Security committee, said he was “concerned that Congress’s involvement in Section 230 reform may lead to more harm than good,” and that one solution worth considering was “to end user anonymity on social media platforms. Social media companies need to know who their customers are so bad actors can be held accountable.”
Johnson was soon joined by Senator John Kennedy, who says he is working on legislation he plans to introduce that would require social-media users to verify their identities. Doing this would “cause a lot of people to think about their words” before posting, Kennedy said. According to one news report, the senator is “confident the proposal would be constitutional” and added that “many newspapers require users to identify themselves in comment sections.” Whether Kennedy or Johnson are successful remains to be seen, but there are a number of reasons to be skeptical about the idea that removing anonymity would even be possible, let alone a positive development for social media. For one thing, Jeff Kosseff, a law professor at the US Naval Academy, said the courts have repeatedly upheld a First Amendment right to anonymity, citing the anonymous authors of the Federalist Papers, among others, and this right has also been recognized for internet forums and other digital platforms.
In a 1995 case, for example, the Supreme Court was pretty explicit about the need to protect anonymity, according to Mike Masnick of Techdirt, a long-time free speech advocate. “Anonymity is a shield from the tyranny of the majority,” the court said in its decision, and “thus exemplifies the purpose behind the Bill of Rights, and of the First Amendment in particular: to protect unpopular individuals from retaliation–and their ideas from suppression.” In addition to significant doubts about whether it would be constitutional or not, Masnick and others note that requiring real names wouldn’t stop the problems that Johnson and Kennedy complain about. Anyone who has spent any time on Facebook, where real names are required, is well aware that people are more than happy to say the most terrible things — to engage in abuse, harassment, and the peddling of disinformation — while using their real names.
On top of all those considerations, free-speech advocates like the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the American Civil Liberties Union point out that anonymity protects a wide range of vulnerable people from potential backlash — not just in countries with totalitarian or repressive governments, but in the US. Whistleblowers like Edward Snowden and Daniel Ellsberg, or Watergate’s Deep Throat, have relied on anonymity in order to highlight wrongdoing at the highest levels of government, and newspapers and other media outlets rely (perhaps too much in some cases) on anonymous sources in order to report on corruption and other malfeasance. And in addition to those cases, there are countless survivors of sexual abuse, religious persecution, racism, and other evils who rely on anonymity to prevent reprisals. In short, requiring real names by law would probably be unconstitutional, wouldn’t prevent any of the harms that are usually mentioned, and would put huge numbers of people at risk.

Online aggression: Although many people believe that anonymity fuels abuse and harassment online, because it gives people the freedom to say whatever they wish without fear of reprisals, a recent study of online behavior found the exact opposite. According to the researchers, results from a major social-media platform over a period of three years “show that in the context of online firestorms, non-anonymous individuals are more aggressive compared to anonymous individuals.”
An abuse of power: In an essay written when Google+ (the company’s ill-fated attempt at a social network) started requiring real names the same way that Facebook does, danah boyd — a sociologist and Microsoft researcher who spells her name without capital letters — wrote that such policies are “an abuse of power.” The people who most heavily rely on using pseudonyms in online spaces, boyd says, are typically “those who are most marginalized by systems of power. Real name policies are an authoritarian assertion of power over vulnerable people.”
The real world: Denise Paolucci, a former MySpace staffer, said on Twitter that she has been running enforcement teams for two decades at various social services, and “removing anonymity does nothing to reduce online abuse: in fact, platforms with real name or verification requirements have more frequent and more destructive cases of abuse.” Such policies assume that people will only be abusive anonymously, she says, and “that presumption is 100 percent contrary to fact. People are utterly vile proudly, openly, and publicly under their offline identity.”
Other notable stories:
India has threatened to punish Twitter if it doesn’t comply with a government request to restore a block on accounts connected to tweets about farmers’ protests that the government says are inflammatory. On Monday, Twitter blocked more than 250 accounts from being seen within India following a government request after Indian officials said the tweets could incite violence. The officials singled out the hashtag #ModiPlanningFarmersGenocide, which some Twitter users have been using to bring attention to the government’s crackdown on protesters.
Alex Cranz, the senior consumer tech editor at Gizmodo, said she was fired from the company last Friday for her involvement in a union letter about an “internal tech product” sent to management, according to a report by The Wrap. Cranz also said her termination came after members of management approached her with “false allegations” about her work performance. Kelly Bourdet, former editor in chief of Gizmodo, said in a tweet that she had filed a formal complaint with the company’s HR department about what she called the “bizarre and overt targeting” of Cranz.. G/O Media, which owns Gizmodo, said the accusations were “meritless.”
Fox News host Sean Hannity’s discomfort in the wake of the election “is a window into the current tumult inside Fox News, as the former president’s former favorite network tries to find its place in a post-Trump reality,” the Washington Post argues. “The end of a presidential campaign is often a time for news organizations to take stock and recalibrate their strategies. But never before had a network been so closely affiliated with a commander in chief.” Now, it says, “Fox is seeking to navigate its future without the ear of a sitting president or even his angry voice from exile.”
Andrew Marantz writes for the New Yorker about John Sullivan, who says he was present during the riot at the Capitol on January 6 and filmed the event as a journalist/documentarian, “going out there and just live-streaming the events that are transpiring, so that people can see it on the Internet.” But others have called him an agent provocateur, a con artist, and a thrill-seeking instigator. “There has never been a clean way to delineate professional journalists from everyone else, and the boundary has only grown blurrier in the selfie-stick era,” says Marantz. While the courts have been clear about the First Amendment’s protection for speech, the clause that protects freedom of the press “remains a fuzzy area of the law.”
Lauren Harris, who writes CJR’s Journalism Crisis Project newsletter, describes some of what she has learned after nine months of focusing on what has been happening to newsrooms and publications across the country. “When I began writing this newsletter in June, I imagined the local journalism crisis as a graph with a simple line, rising and falling with each wave of cuts, marking how the world of news was getting worse or getting better. After nine months of reporting, I’ve realized it’s not that simple. It’s not just about what the numbers mean for those who were laid off or furloughed, but sometimes, how the newsroom that is left survives. A graph shows what is lost and gained, but not what it means to undergo such radical fluctuation and change.”

"I'm sure it was Jeon JungKook, not our JungKook." You rolled your eyes, throat burning even before the shot had even arrived. It had been a huge shock seeing the man that was once part of your daily life and disappeared without much trace - well, what the media didn't release at least - back, and as your employer, to top.
"I don't see the difference, he's still your broth-"
You cut him off with a sharp gesture, turning forward to where your drink was being served. "He's not my brother, he has made that very clear, Joon. A long time ago, when he abandoned me after turning twenty-one."
That made NamJoon hesitate before speaking, as he asked the bartender for a beer.
"Y/N, I think you should use that opportunity to talk... I'm sure there are things you two haven't said to each other," he tried and you groaned while kicking your head back, the tequila doing its job by burning your digestive system. You sure had a thing or two to say to him, but it seemed like JungKook was pretty much done with your relationship so maybe it was better to left some things unsaid.
NamJoon sighed at your lack of response. At the same time, you understood why he tried so fiercely to reunite you all since it had been such a violent break for everyone and all he had was you and his little sister, which by the way would be turning eighteen soon.

It wasn't that NamJoon didn't know about Mou, he did but there wasn't much anyone could do besides looking like a jackass - and mayhaps sometimes playing the part too well, was the girl from the hickey anything to go by. Mou had a difficult situation relationship-wise and Joon could like her back all she wanted, but in the end, it wouldn't work out. Besides, she chose to not talk to him to avoid making things worse. As if she wasn't falling for him harder by the day. In all, everyone had some complicated situation on their table.
"Yes, I'm having a drink because I'm stressed, I'll be back soon to my apartment and maybe we can talk better then?" You chanced, eyes glued to the floor to avoid warning NamJoon of something. He was a good guy and would most times leave so you could talk with your friend - most times about him - but at that moment you needed his company. Agreeing to call you in a couple of hours, Mou hung up and you turned to NamJoon, which was displaying a very sympathetic - and rather cute you had to admit - smile to yet another woman walking by, which made you snort.
"Where you got all those moves, Joon? I almost feel uncomfortable," you joked, punching his arm lightly. He turned to you rolling his eyes, nonchalant as if he hadn't turned - basically in the blink of an eye or at least since you two graduated college - a fine man, that could most of the time pass as awkward, but once anyone heard him speak, there was this immediate enchantment to him. "Good, 'cause I'm not trying to woo you," he mocked back and you made a face of disgust, stealing his mug and giving a chug to the already warm beer. It was probably a bad decision to mix drinks like that but you were having a bad day and apparently, you'd be working on your birthday, so why not just take a sick day ahead and get wasted? "You know there's a probability that he doesn't remember," NamJoon hummed beside you, chugging the rest of his beverage after snatching his cup back. You frowned, suddenly not getting what he was talking about. "Your birthday, I mean. JungKook may not even care."
At that you snickered, perching your chin on your hand. "Whoa, how reassuring of you, Joonie. Sure hurts less than to think he's doing that on purpose just to make me suffer on my birthday," you quipped but was also glad that he was saying it, so you would ease up a bit on your paranoia. It wasn't as if JungKook was after you, anyways.
"You know that's not quite how I meant it, Y/N. I just want you to stop worrying about this since it's your job on the line too." NamJoon sighed and you could see his point quite clearly. Wouldn't do you any good to dwell on this for long, since it was job-related. You couldn't let a personal matter into it.

That's why you just let the days go by, till the fateful Tuesday came around.
As you woke up, your phone was already filled with messages and emails - mostly promotional newsletters, and you should unsubscribe from a lot of them - wishing you a happy birthday and all, your closest-ish friends confirming their presence for, later on, the little gathering after work the only redeeming event of that dreadful day.
You tried to not think about it yet but as you showered, it was unavoidable to wonder what would be best to wear for the meeting, very aware that your go-to slightly sensual - but highly professional - attire was off-bounds. Sure, Mr. Park would be there and it worked beautifully in the first meeting you had before his company was bought - at that time you had another team leader too, so you were just there for eye candy, just like you were bringing TaeHyung for - but that was off the table since your, ahem, former brother was there too. It just felt wrong for some reason.
So deciding for another tactic, you chose something more high class to wear - since you'd be going to a building that wouldn't allow you stepping in the lobby if you weren't looking like you co-owned at least two companies - and decided to go by Jin's patisserie and grab his famous doughnut holes as a sweet treat, reminded that NamJoon brought a bag of them the other day and thinking at least JiMin would enjoy them.
"You're looking so grown-up today Y/N," TaeHyung commented as you waited for your car to arrive just outside Jin's, where you asked him to meet you. You scoffed, lowering the coffee cup he had bought you.
"I don't know what you mean, I am a grown-up - at least it's what my little cousins say," you quipped playfully, watching him snicker cutely into his cup of hot chocolate, which you would call him out later on.
"No, what I mean is that you look like a future-you, successful in all aspects of your life and..." He trailed off, looking away as if a little shy, prompting you to tilt your head in wonder.
"And...?" You pressed, finding his nervous expression something unusual on him. Usually, TaeHyung was a cheerful guy, reliable worker and you'd even go as far as calling him cute. Of course, he was the same age as you, but the description fits him well.
"I was going to say well-married to a successful guy, but thought that might offend you since you look very independent all the time, you know."
"It's kinda flattering the way you think of me actually," you smiled at him, getting a shy smile back. "Though yes, I'd like to get married someday but only after achieving all the other stuff." Chuckling, you bumped his shoulder lightly, taking another sip of your coffee.
"Oh, so there's still hope, huh?" You head him say as you turned to look at your phone once more, slightly concerned that the company's car would make you late to the meeting. Not today, please... Wait, what did TaeHyung say?

Before you could ask him what he was on about, an expensive-looking car smoothly came to a stop right beside you, a cheerful man shouting your name across the other side, window rolled down. "You should be Miss Y/L/N, as the boss told me!" He spoke with a smile as you leaned down to the door to talk to him.
"Boss? Mr. Min YoonGi?" You chanced, wondering if YoonGi did own a car like that and if he would be kind enough to dismiss the company's car service - because you were well aware they didn't use those kinds of cars - and 'borrow' his.
"What? No, I mean Mr. Jeon. He asked to pick you at the company, but you weren't there. Good thing a friend of yours knew your location, though." You licked your lips, suddenly nervous. Jeon JungKook sent someone to fetch you? "So, shall we go?" He asked, and you jolted with a startle, glancing at TaeHyung that didn't seem to be much phased about the whole thing. Sure, he had no idea of your past with JungKook. NamJoon, on the other hand, would probably have a stroke. Or maybe you were exaggerating and had to check yourself.
Inside the car was sorta normal, but at the same time all-too-much like JungKook, the way he liked dark colors and cool appliances and his smell. The whole interior smelled like him and your heart was doing somersaults thinking about that.
"Seems like you made a good impression at that pre-meeting, huh?" TaeHyung whispered, bumping your elbow to call your attention. You chanced a smile back at him, shrugging.
"Mr. Park may have asked to do this out of kindness. We've worked with his company for some years, so..."
The driver snickered softly in front of you, drawing your attention to him, eyes meeting through the rear mirror. "Oh, I'm sorry miss, I didn't want to sound rude. It's just that Mr. Jeon asked me personally to fetch you and, sincerely, he doesn't do that to anybody. I'm his most personal driver."
At that information, you could only utter a tiny exclamation, something that the man sitting beside you must had thought amusing if his smile was any indication. It didn't matter at all that JungKook had sent his chauffeur instead of a regular one from the company. And that you were the one he'd ever do that for.
Maybe he was just trying to throw you off your game, intimidate you in some way? It sounded insane even in your head.

If anything, Park JiMin was a very pleasant man, most of all the best client ever and you were very sorry to have to work with anyone but him when it came to that beauty company.

On-time as always!" he chirped, getting up from the secretary's table where he had been probably waiting for your arrival, straightening his well-tailored dark grey suit before extending his hands to take yours in warm greeting. You smiled at him genuinely happy to see him, before introducing TaeHyung, that looked almost shy on the presence of JiMin, which whatever height he might lack - he was taller than you either way -, his charisma made up for it. So much that you even let yourself delusion that he was actually a friend and was currently wondering if it was okay to invite him for the later gathering in your apartment. "I've brought you some treats to, you know, sweeten the deal we'll make," you motioned to the bag of patisserie hanging on your arm, that immediately caught the auburn-haired man, his little chuckling to your bad joke making your face warm.
"Then that probably came in a good time," he started, expression falling just a little as he looked up and sighed. "Today's not a good day for my partner as you will see when we arrive at the meeting room, so maybe those will ease his mood a bit." JiMin ran his fingers through his hair, the soft locks falling back to their place in beautiful waves and parting in the middle, revealing his forehead. At the mention of the other man you'd be meeting, your blood ran cold, heart racing as you glanced at TaeHyung that seemed quite calm, glancing around the floor. "But don't worry, I gather is something personal so I'm sure he won't let that interfere in our appointment."
You smiled tightly in an attempt to show that you weren't so worried about whatever the new owner of JiMin's company could be going through and started walking right beside him when his palm smoothly pulled your arm in guidance. Yet, the only thing in your head was that you were the only personal matter Jeon could be annoyed with. That, given he did recall your birthday too.

As promised, Jeon JungKook was pissy once the three of you arrived at the room, frowning expression barely smoother before getting up to greet everyone. You couldn't help swallowing dryly when he squeezed your hand, trying not to look him in the eyes but failing upon feeling his burning gaze on your face. Truly a threat to your professionalism.
Still, the meeting went as smoothly as it could, with barely any interruptions to your presentation - TaeHyung also managing to respectfully take some points and answer their questions even as a trainee on the team - and minimal changes to the whole project, which would be put to processing the next week. It had been the most you've spoken to Jeon in three years.
His mood, on the other hand, was still a little sour even if he had, by himself, finished all the doughnut holes you've brought, which clearly had made him a little more agreeable. JungKook had always been snackish, that was a fact.
In the end, the deal was made, but when you got up from your seat with a relieved sigh to greet both men in front of you goodbye, never would guess that your hand would be held tighter by no less than Jeon JungKook, hesitant eyes looking back at your utterly surprised and confused expression.
"Uh," he started, licking his lips in what you would understand as nervousness, breathing in quickly. "What about we all go to celebrate?" And then JungKook grinned expectantly, glancing from you to Jimin, which had his eyes trained to Jeon's hands still holding yours before snapping back to reality.

"We should definitely celebrate, it's JungKook's first deal and your great work today! What do you say?" The puppy that was Park JiMin yapped happily and so excitedly that saying no would certainly feel like you had just kicked the pup. Looking at TaeHyung for some sort of support - he'd been so talkative when it came to explaining the digital stuff and now had closed off again you wanted to kill him - but only got a shrug in response. It was up to you to decide, how nice.
"I'll give a call to our boss, see if he doesn't have anything else to work on." You said, knowing quite well the only appointment for the day was that meeting but hoping that YoonGi came up with something last minute.
No such luck.
So as you waited for the partners to organize everything and check their schedule - fingers crossed for unavoidable appointment-, you decided to text NamJoon about the matter, quickly letting him know you'd probably be late for the party but that he could, as always, let himself in with his spare key.
"Hope we didn't interrupt any plans with your boyfriend," JiMin popped in beside you, positively making you jolt in surprise, hand to your chest as you chuckled.
"No, NamJoon isn't- And it's just a small party later on, I was just..." For some reason, you couldn't find a way to explain properly and ease his worries, even more, when Jeon was also walking up to you three, gaze always on you.
And as if you had prompted him to, TaeHyung gasped in surprise, eyes wide as he touched your shoulder. "Right, today's your birthday as well!" He exclaimed loud and clear, prompting your cheeks to burn and the need to punch him felt practically unbearable. Now he decides to speak?!
"Congratulations are due, I see!" Ripping away your glare from TaeHyung that had the nerve to look guilty after practically yelling at the company about anything else that not an emergency, you turned to JiMin and his bright smile to thank him for the good wishes. JungKook was also smiling, looking even pleased for your awkwardness.
"All the more reason to celebrate then, don't you agree, Miss Y/L/N?" He asked with a hum, expression just a tiny bit defiant and smug. What could you say? No? Impossible. So with an inner sigh, you only nodded meekly.
"Great, I'm paying then. Shall we go?" JiMin grinned, extending his arm to you, always the gentleman. Giggling you humored him, linking your arm to his as he guided you to the elevator, taking the front. If there was a good thing on this whole mess, it was Park JiMin.

"I think [Charles] envisaged having Harry as part of that,” Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, said via email.
Seward said that along with William and Kate, Charles saw his sister, Princess Anne, and his brother, Prince Edward, as part of the plan.

Even though Harry is now down to sixth in the line of succession, he would still have been expected to carry out more senior duties for several years because numbers three, four and five in the succession (William and Kate’s young children, George, Charlotte and Louis) are up to two decades away from being active royals.
“So Charles and William have been counting on Harry to be, in effect, third in line to the throne and that’s all out the window, too,” said Bedell Smith.
Harry and Meghan have been staying out of sight for the past couple of weeks and are thought to be on Vancouver Island, where they were over Christmas before making their seismic departure announcement.
In the meantime in the U.K., it’s been royal business as usual for everyone from the Queen on down. Elizabeth was out and about twice this week —
and reminisced about her father and his corgis
— as her regular winter stay at her Sandringham estate, north of London, draws to a close.
Charles and Camilla were at a reception for the British Asian Trust and other engagements. William, who has a new role as Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, and Kate were at the British version of the Oscars and did a day trip to Wales.
Observers have been trying to figure out whether there’s any evidence of Harry and Meghan’s departure affecting what other senior members of the family are doing.
But in many ways, that seems to be a stretch — at least for now.
“As official engagements are usually fixed some months in advance and Harry and Meghan’s official departure is not until the spring, I don’t think we have yet seen much direct evidence,” Seward said.
“The crux will come on family occasions and none are scheduled in the immediate future. The future of Harry’s military appointments is obviously under consideration and will be announced as soon as it is decided.”
Still, it all leaves many open questions about how other members of the family may step up their roles. One person seen by many as likely to gain more prominence is Edward’s wife, Sophie, the Countess of Wessex.
“I think Sophie will take on a lot more royal duties and patronages,” said Seward.
And then there are Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, daughters of Prince Andrew, who has stepped down from public duties in the wake of fallout from his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and a disastrous BBC interview related to that.
“I am not sure about Beatrice and Eugenie,” Seward said. “Before all this happened, I know Andrew was keen for them both to have royal roles, but Charles was not.”
Another spring wedding
One thing that is sure for Beatrice — she has a confirmed wedding date and venue.
Buckingham Palace said this morning she and fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will marry May 29 at the Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace in central London. The Queen will host a reception just up the road, in the gardens behind Buckingham Palace.
After a flurry of royal weddings in Windsor over the past couple of years, this promises to be a lower-profile, smaller and more intimate affair — perhaps not surprising given the controversy surrounding Beatrice’s father, Andrew.
St. James’s Palace does, however, have a rich royal history. Other weddings that have taken place there include that of Queen Victoria in 1840. It’s also been the scene of several christenings, including Beatrice herself in December 1988, and more recently Prince George in 2013 and Prince Louis in 2018.
Andrew and the FBI — what's going on?
Prince Andrew was the focus of more attention recently after the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York told a news conference held outside Epstein’s former mansion that Andrew had given “zero co-operation” to the inquiry into the convicted sex offender.Immediately after that, sources close to Andrew were reported as saying he was angry and “bewildered” by the claims he had been unco-operative, and that he hadn’t received any request to speak to the FBI.A lawyer for a victim of Epstein also urged Andrew to co-operate with the FBI.Seward said until an approach is made by the FBI through official channels, “nothing will happen.”“This doesn’t lessen the potential wrong, but he can’t answer anything until his lawyers are contacted, and then they don’t have to answer straight away,” Seward said. “I think he will help the investigation, but has probably been advised to wait until such time as all the necessary evidence as to where he was and what he was doing has been gathered.”Andrew has said he did not see or suspect any sex crimes during the time he spent with Epstein. He has also denied any inappropriate relations with a woman who has said she was forced to have sex with him three times between 1999 and 2002. Andrew has said he has no recollection of meeting her..

Fans of the Netflix drama The Crown will have to content themselves with just five seasons, rather than the six everyone had been expecting.
Creator Peter Morgan had said he’d planned on six seasons of the show focusing on Queen Elizabeth’s reign, but the other day he nixed that idea and said five seems like the “perfect time and place to stop.”
The way the series is going, that should take viewers up to around the year 2000.
Given some of the higher-profile royal controversies of late, perhaps it’s understandable why Morgan is content to stop at that point.
“I think there’s concerns the closer you get to the present day, in terms of how much dramatic licence can you ethically take about events that are unfolding,” said Toronto-based royal historian and author Carolyn Harris.
“And also, the show would become more controversial if it was speaking about events that are in many ways still unfolding at this time, and imagining conversations behind palace doors.”
Season 5 will see another actor take on the role of Elizabeth. Imelda Staunton, who’d long been rumoured for the part, will follow Claire Foy (seasons 1 and 2) and Olivia Colman (seasons 3 and 4).
