One thing I’ve noticed is the Battle Subway is unique among battle facilities in being accessible early in the game - the second you reach Nimbasa you can challenge it. Other facilities are all post game - so in-universe, I feel like there’s a higher standard for challenging them. So, here’s an idea:
Ingo and Emmet have one long-standing serious argument that has never been resolved, and it’s the one of the very few times Ingo has pulled the elder brother card to ‘win’ : the debate over minimum requirements for challenging the Battle Subway. Ingo believes (and used his older twin status to implement) that there should be no restrictions on who challenges the Subway: all trainers are welcome, no matter their skill level, to come test their mettle! Pursue ever greater heights no matter where you start!
Emmet would like there to be a minimum badge requirement. He doesn’t want to bore the Subway’s pokemon and depot agents with unfulfilling battles from trainers who aren’t serious - it means the front end agents get overwhelmed while the later teams don’t see as much work. Also, it can be pretty crushing for young trainers to be absolutely curbstomped by competitive teams. They may not wish to come back if they can’t even get past the first agent! So for that, Emmet would like trainers to have at least some experience with the gym circuit before taking on their Subway - that way he knows there’s at least some level of seriousness to their intentions.
It’s the whole Ideals vs Truth thing the twins have going on: Ideally, every trainer has the potential to reach great heights! But the truth is, not everyone is that strong - or wants to get that strong.
(This isn’t Emmet looking down on weak trainers, btw. He’s just as supportive as Ingo to people who are *serious* about getting stronger and reaching greater heights! He’s just not really interested in trainers who are only challenging them for the novelty or as a fun thing or so on. He’s way more enthusiastic about the kid with the Watchog ace who keeps coming back with new item combinations and team attempts than he is about the person who has beaten all eight gyms in Unova with their Hydreigon and has straight up shrugged off losing to the Bosses because ‘I got all the BP I needed for x item’.)

Hi! @touya-san might recognize me as:
ıllıllı The Math Time Anon ıllıllı
– but my purpose today is to expose him!
After Touya repeatedly dodged questions about his height, I wondered how tall he actually was. I skimmed Rotomblr, found some numbers, and did some quick math.
The results? He's 4'9" at most. I sent him my calcs in an ask, and his silence was an admission.
Do with this what you will~ (*ゝω・*)
….
ohohoh. oh I am going to use this. I am going to make that bastard piece of shit pay for daring to insult. thank you math time anon, you have been incredibly helpful.
… oh no. (why would you tell him this?)

ive been playing a lot of pokemon-like games lately to search for something new to fill the void of the desire to collect creatures... so many games show so much promise but there's always something holding them back. it's usually just like one thing and i cant get too mad bc a lot of them are either extremely inexpensive or outright free. but it sucks to be playing a game thats otherwise solid only for it to suck bc like, the writing is abysmal or the gameplay loop is miserable. the most egregious thing ive encountered in a lot of these games is the lack of a robust bestiary. like thats the main reason i played pokemon and stuck with it, when prof rowan asked me to research for him i took that seriously 😭 i want to know abt the animals please for the love of god give me a description, a habitat range some fun facts. please

Future Paradox Decidueye
Iron Hunter - Ghost/Fighting
(Violet Book entry & shiny version under the cut!)
Enigmas of Paldea, File #11
Iron Hunter: An AI Went Rogue?!
This peculiar creature’s name comes from an invention in the enigmatic Violet Book.
Theorised to be the results of a research project attempting to revive the extinct Hisuian Decidueye, using what information remains and Alolan Decidueye as a base, something went horribly wrong when it began attacking everything in sight.
In addition to its heartless nature, the cannons on its wings and its powerful legs make it a dangerous foe. Eyewitnesses report that it will not give up on its prey until it has succeeded in eliminating them.

If your characters were in the ABO universe, what would they each be? (Leon, Guzma, Plumeria, Kukui, Molayne, Kalani, any of the grunts?)
So... *sweats* um full disclosure, I'm not the biggest fan of ABO. I don't hate it or anything (I've read a few entertaining ones in my time), but I don't think I'd ever find myself writing one. That being said, this is all hypothetical for fun, so I don't actually have an issue with answering this question. However, when I look at my story, I can't help but think about how fundamentally conflicting the ABO system is with the concept of māhū, something that is mentioned and explored multiple times.
I'll talk more about all that below the cut, but I'll go ahead and leave the TLDR here with the answer to your question:
Alphas- Kukui, Plumeria, B.
Betas- Molayne, Kalani, Leon
Omegas- Guzma, A.
For those that are not familiar, māhū is an identity in indigenous Hawaiian culture that translates roughly to a gender that is "somewhere in between." Thus, the entire notion of gender and what makes a man a man and a woman a woman is far more fluid than, say, a traditional western interpretation. I say that this is fundamentally conflicting with ABO because the ABO system is, by design, rigid- all people are broken up into very specific categories based on both gender and sex. Also, although it is not depicted this way in every ABO au, an individual's free will can often be overtaken by instinctual/biologically driven impulse. Needless to say, this is extremely counter to many aspects of the story, but most importantly, one of its underlying themes about how people grow and change over time (for better OR worse) and that the world and relationships (whether they be romantic, platonic, familial, or whatever) are NOT black and white.
