The Grant Legacy - Generation 2 - The Second Act - Part 1

It has been four months since Este was born. It is now October and there have been some happenings in the lives of Vera, her family, friends and enemies.

The Grant-Vatore Household- Hendford-on-Bagley

Este is now four months old. Caleb has quit his job at the graveyard to be a full-time stay at home Dad. He doesn't want to miss a precious second of his little girl growing up. Vera has started back, part-time, at the Vet Clinic with Zoe Frenz handling a lot of the day to day operations. It's been a bit rough for Vera to be away from her daughter but Caleb makes sure to take Este to visit Mommy on a regular basis when Vera is at the clinic.

Josie did indeed get to meet Este. This is Josie hanging out with Este shortly before Josie crossed the rainbow bridge in her sleep at the very end of September. The whole family misses her terribly, especially Vera. She and Josie had been together for many years.

Lucky also misses her furry pal and has been feeling a bit down with no one to play with. She's grown close to Este, rarely leaving the infants side when she is home. Vera is having a hard time with the idea of finding another cat to take into their family. Caleb has suggested maybe a puppy for Lucky to play with instead. Vera is torn because she's always had a feline around since the moment she entered the world.

Otherwise, things are going well for Vera and her family. They haven't heard a peep out of James since before Este was born, which they find odd but maybe he's gotten bored and moved on?

The Grant Household - Sulani

AJ has grown into a child and it's turning out to be quite the responsible young man. Mew Mew is still his constant companion when AJ is at home, despite turning into an elder kitty. Apollo enjoys helping his son with his homework when he's not at his job as a Cog in the Machine in the Engineer career.

Naya does her best to try to help AJ with his school work as well, but she's become very busy with her career. She's made it to Ensemble Author in the Style Influencer Career. Being a bit older than Apollo, Naya feels like she only has so much time left to make her mark in the fashion industry before she's considered "washed up". It's led to a few issues between the high school sweethearts as Apollo feels Naya's career is taking up time she should be spending with her family. Naya feels Apollo don't understand her viewpoint because he's fine if he never advances in his career. He's just happy being able use his love of science at work and help provide for his family.

The Zhu/Volkov Household - Moonwood Mill

Once AJ became older, Lily decided that although she loves AJ it was time for her to return to Moonwood Mill and to her pack. She still visits AJ when she gets the chance to. She also keeps in touch with Caleb and his family, along with Lilith. They have all made progress in their relationships with one another though they may never be as close as they once all were.

Another development in Lily's life is love. She never thought it would happen at her age but Kristopher declared his love for her once she returned. She has always had feelings for him since she met him all those years ago and he helped her find who she's really meant to be. Kristopher's adopted son Jacob is thrilled that his Dad has finally found someone, especially since it's Lily, who has always been a mother figure to him. Rory, Kristopher's adopted daughter, acts like she could care less.

The Vatore Household - Forgotten Hollow

Despite Lilith's infidelity with Vladislaus Straud, Jackson has chosen to forgive his maker when he saw that she had nothing to do with the Count once Lilith came clean to him. She even went as far as to have Dakota Laws place a spell on the Vatore estate grounds so Count Straud can't step foot on the property, let alone slither into Lilith's bed. The vampire duo have reunited and are trying to make things work between them. Jackson has even started working again as a writer's assistant. He's made great strides in controlling his blood lust thanks to Lilith and his friendship with Lurch.

Lilith is glad that Jackson has forgiven her and thrilled to have not only a new niece in her life but contact with a cousin she thought was lost to her forever, Lily. Yet still there's a ache in her non beating heart that thinks of a certain pipe organ playing vampire that lives across town.

Nacho is living in the lap of luxury for him, considering he came from the streets. Lilith spoils him rotten, buying him whatever his furry little heart desires whether it's tuna fish or crab. Jackson has also started warming up more to him and Nacho enjoys the scratches the male vampire gives him when Jackson returns home from a day of work.

The Lewis Household - Brindleton Bay

August and Aubree got quite the surprise when Aubree when into labor in September.

Twins! Little Edgar Allan and Emily, named after two of Aubree's favorite poets. The couple was obviously shocked. Little Emily had hidden behind her brother everytime Aubree went to have an ultrasound done. To say the couple wasn't prepared would be a accurate statement. Caleb helped them out by rushing to buy an extra set of everything in the nursery.

August has cut down some of his hours of work as a Mailroom Technician at Landgraab Industries, while Aubree is about to return from maternity leave to her Editor in Chief job. Given they have not only the twins but their dog Thor and their cat Bette Davis to feed, they can't afford not to work. They are considering hiring a Nanny to help take care of the twins.

The Laws/Ambrose/Gates Household - Brindleton Bay

Jillian is five months along with her and Dakota's first child. Jillian still has her job at the local bookstore while Dakota has just been promoted to a Private Fourt Class in the Army. In an attempt to save some money, they approached Joey with the idea of moving into a smaller home. He agreed and so they moved across town. Joey still has his own room, which Annabel Lee has also claimed as hers while Jillian and Dakota now share a room. The third bedroom in the house has been turned into a nursery. While Jillian was scared at first to be pregnant so early in her relationship with Dakota, now she's excited. Dakota is as well, he never misses a Doctor's appointment and hopes he can make it to all of them as work allows. Their relationship is doing well and they feel it's growing stronger each day.

Dakota hasn't give up his quest to find out where in the world Thaddeus Laws is, especially now that he's going to be a father, but the trail has run cold. Dakota knows his so called Father is alive but Thaddeus certainly doesn't want to be found it seems.

Joey is now an Medical Assistant and is happy that he gets to work with Doctor Annalise Blake. Despite her being a vampire, she has a lot of medical knowledge and is a pleasant being to be around. He's grown very close to the families' cat, Annabel Lee. He swears she understands everything he's saying to her. He's always heard most cats do whatever they want but if he tells her to go eat her food or don't jump on the stove, it's hot. The cat actually listens to him.

Sadly Joey hasn't had much luck in his love life. He's gone on a few random dates here and there but none of it has turned into anything more. He's starting to wonder if he just isn't meant to be with someone.

MY THOUGHTS ON “THIS CAN GO ONE OF TWO WAYS”

• I love Nova’s braids

• Nova wanting Devoin to be excited about the vacation is a little sad but so cute

• This episode is making the timeline of the show seem really off

• I don’t think Jenelle has much room to talk about Andrew not being sober enough

• Does Jace have ADHD, or does Jace just have a fucked up upbringing and shit parents/step parents? 🙄

• I wonder how Kail’s friends feel hearing about all the Chris drama lol

• I love all of Kail’s reusable cups

• I personally think it’s sort of strange when people call their kids by their middle names. Why not just use that name as their first name then?

• Addie has got so much personality lol

• “Tough crowd” hahah Aubree

• Honestly, Donna, Adam’s mom, is very irritating to me

• I’m glad they were allowed to film Lincoln’s birthday party because they did a of job with the editing of it and it’s so cute

• I’m not always a huge fan of Briana and her family but I appreciate how they try to make Devoin a part of their family too

• The “when they ask you what are you what do you say?” was sort of a weird way to phrase that but I’m glad they’re speaking openly with Nova about cultural and ethnic differences and how there’s a variety and it’s all good and culture is important

• “20 of 12” I’m not sure I’ve ever heard time expressed that way

• Does Leah’s voice sound weird in this segment talking about Jeremy taking Addie or is it just me?

• Oh I wish we saw Phil, I love that dog lol

• Adam’s parents are enabling, manipulative shits and I love Cole

• I feel so bad for so many people in all of these situations. Chelsea and Aubree because of Adam. Jace, Kaiser, and Ensley, because of Jenelle, David, and Andrew. Kail because of her failed relationship with 3 baby daddies and no family. Leah because of Ali’s health issues and Jeremy’s indifference. Briana because of Luis being almost entirely out of the picture. Ugh.

After getting their twins fed, changed and laid down for their naps, August and Aubree Lewis are set to interview the last two candidates to be Edgar Allan and Emily’s nanny. The first interview is with Meredith Roswell, widow of Ted Roswell – former mayor of Strangerville.

Aubree asks Mrs. Roswell why she’s interested in being a Nanny and in BrindleBay, when she’s been living in Strangerville for years.

“Well, after my dear Teddy died, I just need a change, you know? That town is so strange sometimes, I worry about our son. People walk around, twitching and saying something about some Mother and I just don’t want him to fall in with those weird people or the aliens there.” Meredith rambles on.

Aubree and August share a look and August politely tells her that they will be in touch.

The next and last applicant is Paris Hale. A young lady that has just moved to Brindleton Bay.

“We have two babies’, they can be a handful when both are crying and demanding to be fed at the same time.” August explains to Miss Hale, stress and lack of sleep evident in his tone.

“He didn’t sleep much last night.” Aubree supplies to the young lady. Miss Hale might be their last hope and she doesn’t want to the girl off.

“That’s why routine for babies’ is so important. I grew up in a orphanage and helped take care of the younger kids once I got older. Miss Penny always had us all set on routines. If you get one twin used to eating just a bit before the other one, it usually helps. It’s not full proof but it usually helps.” Miss Hale responds.

“What brought you to BrindleBay?” Aubree asks her, filing away the young woman’s suggestion – even if they don’t hire her. It wouldn’t hurt to try after all.

“Miss Penny passed away about six months ago. All the remaining kids at the orphanage were adopted and since I’m of age, I no longer had a home there.” Paris explains, looking down sadly. Miss Penny or as she had called her, Mama Penny, had been the only mother she had ever known until she recently connected with her birth Mother. “My birth Mother and I recently met up and we’re trying to get to know one another. She lives here.”

August feels sad for the young woman, family is the most important thing in the world to him. He can’t imagine growing up like she did. He isn’t sure what to say, thankfully his wife is way better with words than he is.

“So you plan to stay close to your birth Mother?” Aubree questions, not that she don’t feel for the girl but she wants to make sure she doesn’t possibly hire someone who is just going to flake out and leave.

“I do.” Pais confirms, gathering herself and looking back up at her potential employers. “I know I don’t have years of being a nanny under my belt like some of the people who have applied for this position, no doubt, but I am good with kids and this is what I plan to be my career for years to come.”

The Lewis’ tell Miss Hale they’ll be in touch, just like they did with Mrs. Roswell. They have a decision to make.

Playlist Description:

If my guestimation is correct, about nine people took time out of their lives to contribute to this playlist. I greatly appreciate all your efforts. Music and making playlists is something I spend a lot of time doing.

This Love Waves project involves more time than I would like to admit between deciding on a theme, telling a story, finding songs, and making the flow. Flow is the most important part of any customized playlist. That’s why I get hooked on the way certain songs stick together. It’s actually quite annoying how fixated my brain can get.

In all honesty, I have no clue how many people actually listen to any of the playlists I create, but please know much of my heart goes into them. If you’ve ever listened to a Love Waves playlist, or any of my playlists, or read any of my babble that I release to the world, I seriously, from the bottom of my heart, thank you kindly. I wish I could hug you. I mean like really hug you. One of those eyes closed, full embrace, like bih get off me, kind of hugs. :)

Some people struggle to find a way to express themselves. In my case, I struggle to make sense of my expressions and feel understood by others. That’s crazy to think about too. Like, some people sit in silence and never feel understood, and I walk around in a sunlight of noise, and I still feel most people don’t get what I’m saying. Orrrr maybe they get it and just don’t care. Damn, now that’s a realization.

Barbara Ann Church, age 78, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 at SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville. She was born November 23, 1940 in Wilkes County to Monroe and Grace Brewer Johnson. Mrs. Church was a member of Miller Cross Baptist Church. Barbara retired from Wilkes County Board of Education after 27 years as cafeteria manager at Mtn. View Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Harold Johnson.

Mrs. Church is survived by her husband, David Carl Church; her children, son, James Shannon Church of North Wilkesboro; daughter, Sharon Royal and spouse David of North Wilkesboro, son, David Hayden Church and spouse Ashley of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Joshua Shawn Church and spouse Loretta of Stanley, North Dakota, David Shannon Church and spouse Jammie of Glen St. Mary, Florida, Beth McNeill and spouse Brandon of North Wilkesboro, Zachary Adam Church and spouse Hailey of Franklin, Tennessee, Madison Grayum, River Hayden Church both of North Wilkesboro, great grandchildren, Aubree Church, Luke Church, Titus Church, Darci Church, Zoe McNeill, brothers, Edward Johnson, Mack Johnson and spouse Mary all of North Wilkesboro, Steve Johnson of Moravian Falls; sister, Cathy Wagoner and spouse Jim of North Wilkesboro; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mary Ruth Call Foster, age 89 of North Wilkesboro, died Saturday, April 6, 2019 at her home.

Funeral services were April 9, at Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church with Rev. David Wellborn officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Foster was born June 28, 1929 in Wilkes County to Barney and Minnie Eller Benton Call. She worked at Ithaca and was a great mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by per parents; a son-in-law, Butch Williams; one sister, Nora "Jypies" Benton Shew; two brothers, Harden Benton and Sylvester "Pate" Benton; and two grandsons, Danny Alan Williams and Coach Barry Lee Williams.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Ann Porter and husband, Albert, and Patsy Call Williams, both of North Wilkesboro; one grandson, Terry Porter; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Lynn Porter and Dillan Theodore Porter; one sister, Sallie Benton Shew of North Wilkesboro.

Bertha Triplett, 84

Bertha Blevins Triplett, age 84, of Hays, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Rose Glen Manor. She was born November 12, 1934 in Wilkes County to Elmore and Epsie Wood Blevins. Ms. Triplett was a member of Rachel Baptist Church. She was retired from Tyson Foods. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Wayne Triplett; daughter, April Dawn Hensley; grandchild, Little Joe Spears; brothers, A.C. Blevins, Aldean Blevins; sisters, Beulah Perry and Mildred Jean Burchette.

Surviving are her children, James "Moonpie" Viles of Sanford, Ricky Viles and spouse Carolyn of McGrady, Mary Triplett, Jana Lee Triplett, Alton Ray "Dinker" Hensley all of Hays; sister, Rosa Lee Rhoades of North Wilkesboro; brothers, James Blevins and spouse Diane of Rex, Georgia, Ralph Blevins and spouse Mary, Marcus Blevins and spouse Emma all of Hays; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.

Edmond Welborn, 79

Mr. Edmond Ray "Wendy" Welborn, age 79 of Wilkesboro, died Friday, April 5, 2019 at SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin.

Funeral services were April 9, at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Tharpe and Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. .

Mr. Welborn was born January 23, 1940 in Wilkes County to Ed and Nell Church Welborn. He was a member of Lewis Fork Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Christine Cooper; and one brother, Glenn Welborn.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Anderson Welborn, of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Hayes and husband, Ken, of Wilkesboro; four sons, Josh Welborn of Wilkesboro, Junior Welborn and wife, Annette, of Purlear, Mickey Welborn and wife, Sharon, of McGrady, and Mike Welborn and wife, Delores, of Moravian Falls; nine grandchildren; and one brother, Bryant Welborn and wife, JoAnn, of Purlear; and a special nephew, Thad Anderson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials made to SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin, 243 North Lee Street, Yadkinville NC 27055.

Monty Burke, 36

Mr. Monty Reginald Burke, 36, of Millers Creek, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

Monty was born on June 1, 1982 in Wilkes County to Clinton Esaue Burke and Yvonne Dunavant Burke

Monty is survived by his parents; son, Jason Burke of Millers Creek; brother, Bradley Burke and wife, Joanna; and nephews, Dakota and Sean Burke, all of Millers Creek.

The family will conduct a graveside memorial service on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the Burke Family Cemetery on Mertie Road in Millers Creek.

Norma Moore, 62

Norma Jean Anderson Moore, age 62, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. She was born June 23, 1956 in Wilkes County to Arthur and Della Mae Brown Anderson. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Phyllis Diane Bowers.

Surviving are her husband, Tommy Ray Moore; daughter, Angela "Squeaky" Cockerham and husband Jamie of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Zachery Minton, Cody Minton; brothers, Wayne "Lard" Anderson and wife Nancy, Carl Anderson and wife Barbara all of Wilkesboro; two nephews; and one niece.

Funeral service was April 6, at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Younce officiating. Burial followed in Scenic Memorial Gardens. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Maggie Edith Jennings Church, age 82 of North Wilkesboro, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Wilkes Senior Village.

Funeral services were April 7, at Cricket Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Hall and Rev. James Wingler officiating. Burial was in Hilltop Baptist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Church was born July 14, 1936 in Wilkes County to Ernest Jennings and wife Maggie Ann Hutchinson Jennings. She was retired from Holly Farms/Tyson Foods. Mrs. Church was a member of Cricket Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters; Carol Poteat, Doris Lavitich, Dorothy Fitzgerald and Evelyn Jennings and four brothers; Roy Jennings, Claude Jennings, Tommy Hutchinson, Lee Hutchinson and Jim Hutchinson.

She is survived by her husband, Billy George Church of North Wilkesboro; a daughter, Tammy Bowlin and husband, Randy, of Millers Creek; three sons, Ricky Eller and wife, Teresa, of North Wilkesboro, Steve Eller and wife, Junie, of North Wilkesboro and Billy Church of North Wilkesboro; eight grandchildren, Casey Minton, Nevin Johnson, Kati Petrey, Lathan Church, Colton Church, Sherri Cothren, Shana Johnson, Clayton Mathis; eight great grandchildren, Beckam Minton, Barrett Minton, Erin Cothren, Paulina Johnson, Michael Johnson, Adam Mathis, Ansleigh Mathis and Jacey Cothren; one great- great grandchild, Braylen Bell; and a brother, Jay Jennings of Palm Beach, FL.

Ron "Buster" Russell, age 68, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019. He was born July 26, 1950 in Wilkes County to Jack and Beatrice Broyhill Russell. Mr. Russell was a 30 year self-employed auto mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Clyde Russell and Phillip Russell.

Surviving are his wife, Delta Sheets Russell; brother, Barry Russell and wife Ellen of Boomer; sisters, Mary Johnson and husband Bill of North Wilkesboro, Teresa Russell of Moravian Falls; several nieces and nephews; and his cat Misty.

A private family service will be held at a later date. The family request no flowers and no food, please. Mr. Wade Jones Miller, age 79 of Millers Creek, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Funeral services were April 6th, at Millers Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Shannon Critcher officiating. Burial was in Piney Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Miller was born August 6, 1939 in Ashe County to Lee Miller and wife Mira Elizabeth Miller. He retired from Miller Engineering. Mr. Miller was a member of Millers Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister; Nadine Craven and three brothers; Earl Miller, Vaughn Miller and Dale Miller.

He is survived by his wife; Iva Deane Bowlin Miller of the home, a daughter; Kim Gambill and husband Tommy of Millers Creek, a son; Neil Miller and wife Nina of Ferguson, three grandchildren; Kyle Gambill, Jenna Miller and Myra Gambill, a sister; Ruth Seagraves of Greensboro and two brothers; Ford Miller of Marion and Ralph Miller of Glendale Springs.

Sandra Gilreath, 62

Mrs. Sandra (Sandy) Gentry Gilreath, age 62 of Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center.

Funeral services were April 7, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Pastor Brent Bailey and Bishop George Morgan officiating. Burial was in Scenic Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Gilreath was born March 7, 1957 in Wilkes County to Junior Huey and Betty Evelyn Redmon Hague. She was a member of Grace Kingdom Life Ministries and a 1975 graduate of Wilkes Central High School.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a grandson; William Kenneth Gilreath, Jr.

She is survived by her husband; William Gilreath of the home, two daughters; Sonya and Tia Gilreath both of Wilkesboro, one son; Kenneth Gilreath of Purlear, father; Junior Huey Hague, three grandchildren; Jayveon Ross, Logan Sharpe, Alena Gilreath, one sister; Deborah Nelson of Moravian Falls, three brothers; Michael Gentry and wife Gail of Mebane, Junior Hague of North Wilkesboro and Thomas Hague of Columbus, OH. and two goats; Zibi and Zoey.

Linda Gray, 74

Linda Sue Gray, age 74, of Ronda, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Wilkes Regional. She was born April 8, 1944 in Wilkes County to Denver Woodrow Johnson, Sr. and Ola Blanche Hamby Johnson. Mrs. Gray was a member of Wilkes Faith Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Glenn "Joe" Gray; sister, Viola Watson; and brothers, Denver Woodrow Johnson, Jr. and Danny Lee Johnson.

Surviving are her daughter, Sheila Stanley of Ronda; son, Jody Gray of Peoria, Arizona; and grandson, Denver Seth Gray of Peoria, Arizona.

Funeral service was April 6, at Wilkes Faith Church in Ronda with Pastor Bobby Jenkins, Jr. and Rev. Johnny Arnold officiating. Burial followed in Wilkes Faith Church Cemetery. Paul Shore, Jr, 77

Mr. Paul Nathan Shore, Jr., better known as "Junior", age 77 of Hamptonville, went home to be with the Lord Monday, April 1, 2019 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were Saturday at Union Baptist Church in Hamptonville with Rev. Kenny Pardue officiating.

Mr. Shore was born October 24, 1941 in Wilkes County to Paul Nathan Shore, Sr. and wife Louise Gregory Shore. He was retired from the textile industry and farming. Mr. Shore was a member of Union Baptist Church in Hamptonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Shore is survived by his wife of almost fifty six years; Brenda Chambers Shore, three children; Kamela Shore Greene and husband Chris of Ronda, Derrick Shore and wife Karen of North Wilkesboro and Chad Shore and wife Liz of Hamptonville, eight grandchildren; Kaleb Hemric and wife Carrie, Logan Hemric and wife Brittany, Lariat Hemric and wife Celyna, Danielle Shore, Kandis Shore, Bryson Shore, Brady Shore and Brylee Shore, two great grandchildren; Weston Hemric and Mila Hemric, a brother; Larry Shore and wife Debbie of Hamptonville, two nephews; Brandon Shore and wife Erica and Justin Shore and wife Lindsey, great nephew; Mason Shore and great niece; Aubree Shore.

Bonnie Jones, 84

Mrs. Bonnie Rae Jones, 84, of North Wilkesboro, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019.

Bonnie was born on October 20, 1934 in Sullivan Tennessee to Oscar Kenneth Jones and Cora Jones.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; son, Douglas Pratt, one brother, and four sisters.

Bonnie is survived by daughters, Donna Pratt of North Wilkesboro, Joyce Shew ( Jimmy) of Wilkesboro; son, Jerry Pratt of Wilkesboro; sister, Mavis Forbes (Jack) of Kingsport TN; brothers, Larry Jones (Rosa) of Michigan, Johnny Jones (Karen); 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

The family will conduct a private memorial service at a later date.

Mrs. Pansy Rhoades Wagoner, age 78 of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at Rose Glen Manor.

Funeral services were April 6, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Mark Wood officiating. Burial was in Mountlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Wagoner was born April 13, 1940 in Wilkes County to Fred Hoy and Lillie Shumate Rhoades. She attended Dehart Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Clyde Ransom Wagoner, grandchild; Christopher Laws and sister: Kathleen Rash.

She is survived by two daughters; Sharon Lytton and husband David of Wilkesboro and Linda Laws of Hays and one son; Michael Wagoner and wife Sandra of North Wilkesboro, grandchildren; John Adams and wife Kristin, DeShea Jones and husband Matthew, Jamie Wagoner, Kara Cahill and husband Justin, Amanda Brock and husband Nick, Dustie Blankenship and husband Jerry, great grandchildren; Joleigh Jones, Henry Jones, Liam Adams, Madeline Adams, Rosie Blankenship, Dominic Blankenship, Jasmine Blankenship, Montoya Laws, Chris Laws, Zachary Absher, Benjamin Absher, Jaxson Cahill, Paisleigh Cahill, Calvin Brock and one great great grandchild; Liam Blankenship and a sister; Louise Byrd of North Wilkesboro.

Alice Lambert 73

Alice Sue Lambert, age 73, of Roaring River, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at her home. Alice was born October 31, 1945 in Ashe County to Oscar and Frances Royal Bare. She loved to garden and care for others. Mrs. Lambert worked for Ithaca for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy Eugene Lambert; and five siblings.

Surviving are her children, Billy Farmer of North Wilkesboro, Sandra Phillips and spouse Rodney of McGrady, Debra Blackburn and husband Keith, Joey Farmer, April Roten and spouse Scott all of Roaring River; siblings, Bronc Bare of Laurel Springs, Fannie Blanton of Ferguson, Wilma Caldwell of Lenoir, Alonzo Bare of North Wilkesboro, Carolyn Medley of Sparta, Jerry Bare of Wilkesboro; thirteen grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren.

Funeral service was April 4, 2019 at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Hall officiating. Burial followed in Scenic Memorial Gardens. Johnny Wiles, 75

Johnny Roger Wiles, age 75, of Hays, passed away March 30, 2019 at Woltz Hospice Home. He was born August 30, 1943 in Wilkes County to Elbert and Ruby Pruitt Wiles.

Mr. Wiles was the successful owner and operator of Quality Fence Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Margaret Wiles.

Surviving his children, daughter, Cortney Wiles of Maiden, N.C., son, Preston Wiles of Hays, daughter, Tommie Wiles of North Wilkesboro, daughter, Tish Baker and spouse Lonnie of Tyler, Texas, daughter, Dana Wiles of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Carson Gambill, Laken Baker, Aiden Baker; sisters, Helen Blackburn, Pauline Caudill, Tathel Faircloth and spouse Stanley, Carolyn Osborne, Shirley Wiles; and brothers, Jack Wiles, Danny Wiles and spouse Vanessa.

Funeral service was April 3, at New Covenant Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

Sherman Clonch, 79

Mr. Sherman Clifton Clonch, 79, of North Wilkesboro, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

Sherman was born on June 25, 1939 in Wilkes County to the Late Henry Edgar Clonch and Mollie Varina Gryder Clonch.

Sherman is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy Reinhardt Clonch; daughter, Shirlene Goforth; brother, John Clonch; two grandchildren, Kayla Sheree Clonch and Brian Shawn Clonch.

Sherman is survived by his daughter, Leslie Utt and husband, Steve, of Mt. Airy; sons, David Clonch, Dennis Clonch, both of North Wilkesboro, Eric Clonch and wife, Melissa, of Mills River; step-son, Scott Shore of Ocean Isle Beach; 10 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service was April 7, at Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes Chapel, 2109 Moravian Falls Road, Moravian Falls.

Rev. Ronnie McMillan officiated.

Rev. Jay Johnson, 72

Rev. Jay Johnson, age 72 of Millers Creek, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.

Funeral services were April 2, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Millers Creek with Rev. Keith Lyon and Rev. Lawson Horton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Rev. Johnson was born July 13, 1946 in Wilkes County to Albert and Lula Gaynell Staley Johnson. He was retired from Key City Furniture. Rev. Johnson was a Baptist Minister.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister; Jo Ann Harris and a brother; Grady Johnson.

Rev. Johnson is survived by his wife; Joyce McGee Johnson of the home, a daughter; Lisa Johnson Wagoner and husband Stacey of Purlear, a grandson; Travis Dale, two sisters; Betty Jane Burgess and Carolyn Moore and husband R.L. both of Millers Creek, a brother; William Pinkney Johnson "Sonny" and wife Gaynell of Hays and several nieces and nephews.

Marie Anglin, 93

Marie Coffer Anglin, age 93 of North Wilkesboro passed into the loving arms of our Lord on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at her home. She was the last surviving child of Gaston and Martha Holt Coffer.

She is survived by daughters Deeda Pearson of Moravian Falls, Debbie Burchette (husband Sherrill) of Elkin; sons Ronnie Anglin (wife Glenda), Steve Anglin, and Alan Anglin (wife Sherry) all of North Wilkesboro. Her grandchildren Marlene Kilby, Wayne Pearson, Jenny Hiatt, Ronald Anglin, Jr, Scott Anglin, Richard Teague, Timmy Teague, Kim McGuire, and Ashley Anglin. She is also survived by great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Marie retired from the textile industry at age 77 after having last worked at Buster Brown until the plant closed.

She was a faithful member of Hinshaw Street Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School in the children's department at Liberty Grove Baptist Church for many years.

Funeral services wereApril 3, at Hinshaw Street Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Collins officiating. Entombment followed at Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Justin Johnson officiating.
