"Happy Birthday Sarahi..."

Today is 11 September 2021, therefore mine, and Sarahi's birthday! I'm always just overly excited on my birthday for no reason whatsoever. I guess while I'm not exactly ready to grow up, I do find it amazing, personally, that I am, in fact, getting older. As of today, I am now 19 years old, but my brain mostly goes towards the fact that I will be 20 next year. It feels weird to me, but it's also rather thrilling.

I always make a birthday drawing for myself in advance, but I was late this year and only finished this soft Saranby piece at 5 PM. I have to say, I think this is the softest Sarnaby drawing I have made to date. I wanted to make this last year, as this is something that happens in Year 6, when Sarahi turns 17, but I forgot then, so I made it this year instead.

In Year 6, Sarahi doesn't spend her birthday with her friends. After putting on the dress Andre had given her as an early present, she goes to Diagon Alley to wait for Jacob, who had promised a week ago that he would show up for her birthday. He did show up, and presented Sarahi with a music box he had finished recently. Sarahi spent as much time as possible with him, but Jacob had to leave quickly. Even then, she only returned to Hogwarts in the evening. By then, her friends had already gotten worried and had been looking for her for hours. Barnaby eventually finds Sarahi in the Astronomy tower as it was getting dark, playing the tune of the music box on repeat. Soon enough, he sits down next to her and asks her where she had been. Sarahi explained where she was all day and her concerns, seemingly uncomfortable. Barnaby is thoughtful as ever, decides not to pry further, and just spends the evening with Sarahi, giving her as much affection as he possibly could. The two spent a while in the Astronomy tower, before Sarahi agreed with him to go have dinner and see her friends. At dinner, everyone is happy to finally see her (especially Andre who is so proud of himself for making the dress), and give presents of their own to Sarahi. She also recieves some gifts from her muggle friends back home.

I was tagged by @lins-hogwarts-mystery and @carewyncromwell for this fluff alphabet like a week ago and I feel REALLY bad that it took me so long to finally write it down. BUT HERE I AM. I FINALLY DID.

I tagging @weasley-adoptee @wandsandrings @heleneplays @kyril-hphm and anyone else who wants to do this!

Fluff alphabet for Sarahi and Barnaby! ❤️

A - Attractive (What do they find attractive about each other?)

For Sarahi, she loves Barnaby’s eyes. They’re a beautiful green and always sparkling and filled to the brim with kindness and love.

For Barnaby, he loves Sarahi’s smile and voice. Something about them brightens up the room and fills him with joy. He loves to hear Sarahi sing, since many of her songs are just for him.

B - Baby (Do they want a family? Why/why not?)

YES they very much want a family. They both love the idea of having their own children, and aim to be better parents than their own. While Barnaby was ready to have kids right away after marriage, Sarahi was able to convince him to wait for a little while more until she felt ready to take up the challenge. And Barnaby, of course respected that decision because he’s perf.

C - Cuddle (How do they cuddle?)

It’s either spooning, half-spoons or honeymoon hugs. They will always hold onto each other as tight as they can because of how much they love touching and hugging each other.

D - Dates (What are dates with them?)

Eating snacks and petting cute animals. The date can be just about anything, but as long as food or creatures are involved, it’s just perfect. Truth be told, it’s not always necessary for those things to be present for a date to be perfect...

E - Everything (“You are my __”)

Sarahi: “You are my prince.”

Barnaby: “You are my heart.”

F - Feelings (When did they know they were in love?)

Sarahi knew she was in love with Barnaby since the day he saved her from Ismela’s ambush, but at the time she refused to admit it because she was still reeling from the rejection from her first muggle crush. As she got to know Barnaby more and more, it became harder for her to deny it, but after being his date to the Celestial ball and dancing with him all night, she didn’t even bother denying that she was head-over-heels in love with him.

Barnaby’s admiration for Sarahi started growing after having the first butterbeer with her, when he found out that everything Merula told him was a lie, and that Sarahi Silvers is actually a very gentle and friendly person. He already loved her enough to become her shield when Ismelda tried to attack her. His love for her grew even more when he started taking care of creatures with her, and after bonding over creatures so much, he knew he had fallen for her.

G - Gentle (Are they gentle? If so, how?)

Everyone knows that Barnaby is the epitome of gentle. Always caressing Sarahi’s arm or palm, bear hugs, soft kisses on Sarahi’s lips or cheeks, neck etc. As for Sarahi she can be a little rough sometimes because of her study of martial arts, but it’s just a tad. She will often sweetly whisper to Barnaby or just wrap her arms around him in gentle hugs.

H - Hands (How do they like to hold hands?)

Palms pressed together and fingers woven and interlocking. And neither of them are ever in any hurry to let go.

I - Impressions (what was their first impression?)

Sarahi: “Just another one of Merula’s friends… But why does he seem so... different?”

Barnaby: “She looks so small… and innocent. What possible reason could Merula have for being intimidated by her?”

J - Jealousy (do they get jealous?)

Sarahi does get jealous. She is well aware of how good-looking Barnaby is, and how many pretty girls want him. Sarahi has a very low opinion of herself when it comes to her looks, and often thinks that she isn’t good enough for Barnaby. She isn’t very good at being territorial either, so whenever someone is trying to make a move on him and she's getting uncomfortable, she will gently tug on Barnaby’s arm and plead for him to leave. But most of the time, Barnaby will sense her discomfort and leave with Sarahi without saying anything. In both these scenarios, Barnaby will give Sarahi a big sweet kiss once they’re out of earshot to reassure her that he belongs to her.

Barnaby doesn’t get jealous at all. He completely trusts Sarahi and is much too happy to even consider not being enough for her. He is constantly improving, and Sarahi is always proud of him.

K - Kiss (how do they kiss? Who initiated the first kiss?)

Barnaby and Sarahi’s kisses are usually long and passionate. They get so lost in the moment that they will often forget where they are, what they were doing, etc. Sarahi always wraps her arms around Barnaby’s neck and Barnaby will often twirl a lock of her hair around his fingers.

When going back to their common rooms after stargazing, Barnaby initiated the first kiss when he caught Sarahi in his arms when she fell on the stairs, thanks to Tonks. Their faces were so close together that he couldn’t resist. Sarahi happily kissed him back when the initial shock had lifted.

L - Love (who says “I love you” first?)

Sarahi surprisingly says “I love you” first, and completely by accident. She and Barnaby were just laughing and playing around with Bowtruckles when she gave him a side hug and just blurted it out. She blushed red and turned away from Barnaby, and when her words finally sunk in, Barnaby said “I love you too” and pulled her into a kiss. From then on, he would say “I love you” to her almost everyday.

M - Memory (what’s their favourite memory together?)

While they love every single memory they made together, Sarahi’s favourite is the time they spent together in the Greenhouse on Valentines Day. Barnaby’s favourite memory is dancing with Sarahi in the Celestial Ball, and he always tries to get Sarahi to dance with him.

N - Nickel (do they spoil one another? Do they buy the person they love everything?)

Barnaby does try to occasionally spoil Sarahi with gifts of flowers, dresses, or even jewelry whenever he can. Sarahi, on her part, spoils him with desserts and new creatures she sometimes finds.

O - Orange (what colour reminds them of their other half?)

Barnaby thinks of Sarahi whenever he sees anything purple because it’s not only her favourite colour, but because it symbolizes royalty, which is how he sees her.

Sarahi associates Barnaby with green and red. Green, not because of his house colour, but because of his eyes. She associates him with red because of all the red roses he has given her over the years.

P - Pet names (what pet names do they use?)

They both often call each other “love” or “darling”, but other than that...

Sarahi will often call Barnaby “Sweetheart” or “My prince”.

Barnaby will often call Sarahi “My sweet” or “My queen”.

Q - Quaint (what is their favourite non-modern thing?)

Barnaby and Sarahi love the old fashioned ice-cream parlours and love going there whenever they are free to try different flavours of ice cream. Does that even count?

R - Rainy day (what do they like to do on a rainy day?)

On a rainy day, Barnaby and Sarahi will just go out and dance in the rain together to have fun. But if they're not in the mood to get wet, they’ll just slow dance together indoors or watch cartoons on TV. Sarahi will even sing to Barnaby sometimes when they cuddle on the couch. The night either ends with cuddling, or with… ahem… far more intimacy.

S - Sad (how do they cheer each other up?)

Whenever Barnaby is sad, Sarahi lays his head in her lap, strokes his hair and sings to him, while peppering his face with kisses. She will wait for Barnaby to talk at his own pace, but she refuses to leave his side until he has cheered up.

Barnaby, likewise, cuddles Sarahi and holds her as close as he can, while repeatedly placing gentle kisses on her cheeks. If and when Sarahi stops crying, she will tell him what’s wrong. However if Barnaby feels that she is too tired, he will ask her to tell him after taking a nap, and promises to hold her the whole time to protect her from bad dreams. At times like this, Sarahi will lay her head on Barnaby’s chest and let his heartbeat lull her to sleep.

T - Talking (what do they like to talk about?)

At least 90% of the time they excitedly talk about either what creatures they have found, what they were doing, or what creatures they want to see next. The remaining 10% are just random conversations that start whenever any one of them has something they want to talk about, which can range from something serious like a war to something absolutely hilarious like an episode of Tom and Jerry.

U - Unencumbered (what helps them relax?)

Their favourite way of relaxing is cuddling on the couch with each other with Sarahi singing any song she feels inspired to sing depending on her mood. There will also be brief make-out sessions while doing so.

V - Vaunt (what do they like to show off? What are they proud of?)

Sarahi loves showing off any new songs she writes or any new dresses she makes without having to ask Andre for help. She would sometimes have to when she screws up the stitching or something else LoL

Barnaby loves showing off Sarahi in public, being all “Look how cute my girlfriend/wife is!”

W - Wedding (when, how, where did they propose?)

February 1992 - Barnaby proposed to Sarahi a year after Hogwarts. They were in Brazil when Barnaby decided to propose. He had the proposal all thought out with a speech and everything. He planned to tie the ring box to one of their favourite Puffskeins, Softy, and have the little one bring the box to him when the time was right, but Softy’s knot came off when she was still in the poffle. They were both roasting marshmallows by the fire in their campsite when Barnaby was about to propose, but when Softy came up to him without the box, he panicked and began looking for it within the poffle. Sarahi decided to help him look, despite not knowing what he was looking for. However Barnaby forgot what he was looking for when the two began laughing and playing with the Puffskeins and that led to a make-out session. During this, Softy, the smart little Puffskein she was, found the box and dragged it to Barnaby. That suddenly reminded him about wanting to propose, and he just blurted out the question to Sarahi without thinking. Once Sarahi figured out what he was trying to say, of course she said yes, leading to a very blissful night.

March 1992 - Barnaby and Sarahi went back to Britain so that they could have their wedding with all their friends. They got married in a small ceremony in the woods near Sarahi's home neighborhood so that her muggle friends could attend, along with all their other friends and family. The only one who came from Barnaby's family was Cecil Lee, being that he was the only one in the family who was actually happy about this union. It was a simple little wedding and it went without a hitch.

Y - Yes (do they think about marrying/proposing?)

Definitely! They just love each other so wholeheartedly, they don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. They love the idea of spending the rest of their lives with each other and starting a family.

Z - Zebra (if they wanted a pet, what would they get?)

They already have like… 50 animal pets being that they're both Magizoolgists. There's literally no point counting. They have creatures ranging from Nifflers to Abraxans.

2. What's something that they really bond over together?

CREATURES!!! Creatures are literally the reason for their relationship. It's their favourite thing ever!

4. What does the rest of the Mystery Crew think about them? Do they even know about it?

Sarahi and Barnaby have zero shame in PDA, so yes, the Mystery crew and literally the entire school knows. The crew finds their relationship extremely cute and sweet, and often jokingly complain about getting cavities from their sweetness.

6. What rumors do you think would float around Hogwarts about their relationship, if any? How would your MC react to them upon learning about them?

Sarahi and Barnaby made it extremely clear, even to an unsuspecting bystander, that they were madly in love. So no rumours could never be spread about them. Even if any did, they died down quickly, because it would always reach the ears of some people who literally just pointed at the two and said "Look at them. Do you seriously believe that? That is so obviously another rumour."

The only rumour that ever reached Sarahi's ears was when someone spread around that another Ravenclaw girl was trying to woo Barnaby, but Sarahi wasn't worried because she trusted Barnaby fully. Long story short, the girl failed.

13. What's the dumbest or most ridiculous thing they've seen each other do?

It isn't uncommon for Sarahi to see Barnaby doing dumb things, like drinking botched potions or spilling paint on himself, but that's a part of his charm. Sarahi finds it amusing, and always helps him out without judging.

The most ridiculous thing Barnaby has ever seen Sarahi doing, is when she was doing silly dances in History of Magic (she thought everyone was asleep). She felt embarassed at first, but then Barnaby decided to join her. And the rest is history. 😂

19. What's their favorite thing about each other?

Sarahi's favourite things about Barnaby are his innocence and his eyes. They are always filled to the brim with kindness and love and can calm her down immediately.

Barnaby's favourite things about Sarahi is her smile and her voice. These things literally light up his day. He loves hearing Sarahi sing and can listen to her for hours.
