Another headcanon I have is that Kitty was able to see the ghosts as a kid until she was about seven years old, and Robin was her ‘imaginary’ best friend. They would talk for hours at night, and run around the house playing hide and seek. Her sister would tease her about it, and so a combination of that and her ability to see Robin fading convinced her that it wasn’t real. But the day after she died she found Robin standing outside in the rain. They recognised each other immediately, and started giggling and jumping around, holding each other’s hands. They didn’t stop until the rain ceased that evening.

Thomas Thorne Going On About How Amazing He Finds You Would Include
Tumblr media
Thomas isn’t one to not use his words. He’ll spend copious amounts of time trying to find the best words to describe you and how he feels about you.
This is objectively horrible for the other ghosts after a time, though Robin does appreciate learning some new vocabulary and Kitty and Fanny do occasionally have a fun time participating and throwing out suggestions.
But mainly, right words or not, Thomas finds many ways to say how wonderful he finds you. Magnificent, glorious, radiant. Those three he tends to throw around a lot.
No matter how fanciful he might say it, even the plainest words can show you how much you mean to him.
His favorite line that he’s managed to come up with is this: “For you to know your worth to me, and to the world, is akin to knowing all the secrets this universe has to offer.”

Pat and Julian have made a secret “Dad Club” where they talk about being dads. After the events of “It’s Behind You” and a long, intense discussion (a quick, knowing glance at each other) the two decide to invite the Captain into Dad Club. The Captain happily accepts their invitation

BBC Ghosts Headcanons Pt. 1!
This is the first installment of my BBC Ghosts headcanons! I will still be taking requests for both shows so don't worry :) Now, onto the post!
*Pat*
Loves to indulge in Sci-Fi content. Has attended conventions for Star Trek and Doctor Who.
Almost blind in his left eye from getting hit in the eye as a kid with a rock. Him and his friends were having a snowball fight and one of the friends thought it would be funny to hide a rock in one.
He treats his scout troop as a second family! Those kids are getting gifts from him before they have Christmas with their own respective families.
Allergic to shellfish. He can't have shellfish like shrimp without having a mild reaction.
Definitely got his own boys an Atari for a birthday or another holiday. He's the one that plays it with him (mainly on the controller with the boys watching).
Very good writing skills but not a talented artist. Best he could do would be stick figure variations.
*Captain*
Despite not even being the oldest ghost, gets called "old man" frequently.
Has rheumatoid arthritis (mainly in his knee joints). The main reason why he wasn't allowed on the front lines and has joint problems.
Mostly raised by his mother. His father fought in World War 1 and was killed in battle.
Tried to stay as active as he could. Would have routines before and after school as a child that would mainly consist of minor exercise and jogging.
Has definitely spent his teen years researching every weapon used in WW1 by all countries involved.
His hair started graying due to a combination of the stress of his rank as a Captain and due to an iron deficiency from his arthritis.

if the Captain was born in 1898, he would be 47 at the end of WW2 and (according to my theories) his death. This means, that in 1914, at the beginning of World War One, he was 16 years old. In this essay I will explain how The Captain fought in both wars and was a child solider in WW1—

Have some Thomas (and Thomas adjacent) headcanons, since it's the anniversary of That Fateful Day:
- Thomas' father was in the military, and often away from home. He didn't support Thomas' interests, and wanted him to follow a more sensible path in life. He was also disappointed that his only son didn't meet his standards of masculinity. Thomas didn't see his father often, and when he did, they almost always fought. He was much closer to his mother growing up.
- Isabelle knew Thomas and Francis since childhood because of a friendship between their families. Francis had an unrequited crush on Isabelle since they were kids.
- Thomas never had a fling with Byron. He did, however, have a massive crush on the poet as a teenager. This led him to write a fan letter to Byron that included some of Thomas' own poetry. Thomas is convinced that some of the lines from the poem he sent were plagiarised in She Walks in Beauty.
- Thomas did have an actual opium addiction in his late teens and early 20s. It started when he tried it out of boredom with some artsy types on his gap year grand tour. He kept it secret from his mother for three years while living in London 'trying to get his poems published', but was eventually discovered and brought home by Francis after he stopped replying to letters. Isabelle and Francis visited him fairly often when he was recovering at home, and this part of the reason that Thomas began to fall for Isabelle. It also caused Francis to lose even more respect for his cousin.
- As well as being musically talented, Isabelle was a skilled watercolour artist. She once painted a miniature of Thomas, which she had intended to give to him but was never able to. She secretly wore the picture in a locket after his death. Francis only knew of the locket as 'a favourite necklace'. According to her own wishes, Isabelle was buried with it.
- When Thomas first died, he wasn't able to speak for months. The other ghosts mostly gave up on him and left him alone. Only Kitty was persistent enough to eventually get him to talk.
- Thomas is a huge fan of Florence and the Machine, but remains thoroughly confused about what 'the Machine' actually is.

Thomas x Kitty Headcanons #1
They're both Musical fans. Kitty likes stuff like Hairspray, Legally Blonde and Cinderella; Thomas likes stuff like Phantom of the Opera, Dracula, The Count of Monte Cristo (especially CoMC, it's basically his life story). They both love Wicked and Mamma Mia though; Kitty wouldn't stop singing 'Popular' for a week after hearing it. Kitty also love Disney films obviously; Princess and the Frog, Tangled, The Little Mermaid, Enchanted and Cinderella especially.
Unfortunately, due to Alison also being a musical fan in school, they also end up getting really into Glee and set off Alison's interest in it again. Kitty, Thomas, Alison and Pat start Musical Club - the others aren't as into it but they like some musicals (Mamma Mia is a fan favourite)
They also love cheesy pop songs and Kitty makes Thomas sing and dance to them with her (Mike's fault that they get really into Britney Spears). Thomas serenades her with 'What Makes You Beautiful' by One Direction or something; everyone else is cringing while Kitty absolutely loves it.
Once they get together, they're that insufferable couple that everyone hates because they're so in love (this was actually what Mike and Alison were like to their friends when they first started going out, which they refuse to acknowledge). They're always holding hands or cuddling, going on "picnics", having movie days (movie nights are for the group) and generally being cute. It does die down after a  while but they're still affectionate and smitten with each other for the rest of their deaths
Thomas uses loads of nicknames for Kitty (not always good ones) but Kitty usually just calls Thomas by his name “because I like your name :)”
Kitty speaks fluent French (I just think it would be funny – no one knows until Pat says some mediocre French phrase and she bursts out with a full sentence, excited that he speaks it too. No one else knows how to react and Pat just says "oui" to whatever she says). She'll say some random sentence in French and Thomas will start blushing and twirling his hair.

I really do think that Robin and Humphrey are very good friends. In my head, Robin sees that Humphrey isn’t included as much as the others, so he makes time for him. These are some headcanons I have for them:
They sometimes stargaze while Robin talks about the moon and all the stars he’s chosen to represent the ghosts that have moved on, and what those friends were like.
Humphrey always wants Robin to tell him about his wife. The first time he brought it up, the caveman asked what he wanted to know. Humphrey simply replied with: ‘Anything. Anything and everything’. And so every night, he learns a little more about the person he married. What she was like, what she would do, how she would talk about him. It’s painful to hear at the best of times, but it always brings a smile to Humphrey’s face nonetheless.
Robin is the only ghost who doesn’t frighten Humphrey’s body. Whenever he sees Humphrey’s head lying around, he always tries to find the body to make him whole again.
Robin continues to teach Humphrey French. He’s got quite good at it, and sometimes they can have full conversations in French.
When Humphrey is whole, they play chess together (even though Robin ends up winning all the time, it’s still fun). They also compete against each other when game shows are on the TV.

Jealous Thomas Thorne Would Include
Tumblr media
Thomas is easily jealous of anyone you talk to. It’s his romantic nature that causes such easy sway to his emotions.
His jealousy doesn’t tend to last far beyond whatever interaction you were having with the person he was jealous of.
But there are times where his jealousy doesn’t so easily leave him.
During such occasions, Thomas will brood more than usual, taking to the nearest window and gazing out longingly. You try not to question it.
His poetry, at times quite good, at least for a man who can only commit to memory, gets very dark and not as good as his usual standards for himself.
All he wants is for you to ask him why his mood has changed, but you’re not a mind reader, so it takes you a while to actually ask him, but when you do, he’s right back to normal.

I like to think they had a messenger pigeon at Button House during WWII and that it was very fond of the Captain. Cap would try to act all in charge during drills or whatever but he just has this little pigeon sitting on his shoulder cooing happily.
Whenever it was sent out to give a message he’d give a little salute before sending it off, and he definitely visited the makeshift aviary every once in a while to say hi.
I also like to think that he tried to tame the Ghigeon (ghost pigeon) but he was very unsuccessful
I am not projecting my want for a pet pigeon that’s ridiculous why would you suggest that

Mary, in the style of Leyendecker
Specifically inspired by this painting:
Tumblr media
Also partly inspired by that post pointing out that most of the fandom only creates stuff about the captain (sorry I can't remember who made that post and can't find it right now) so I thought I'd try drawing my favourite ghost, Mary

If Ghosts had a more mature rating and was able to do more creepy ghost powers/death side effects:
Pat, Humphrey, and Thomas are eternally bleeding. Their clothes are wet, their hand gets wet from touching it, they'll leave trails of blood down the hall, etc. The blood on their hand or the floor disappears pretty quickly as their ghost powers make them reset but their clothes are always soaked
Thomas's whole stomach and the top of his pants are bloodstained. Pat's is all located on his shoulders/necktie and has the most obvious stains due to the color difference of his clothes. There are a few drops here and there down his sleeves and chest. It's pretty heavy because of the major arteries the neck that would've been punctured. Humphrey's is by fair the heaviest and is all over the front of his torso. Like the whole thing. When he died he fell face down into the growing puddle of blood that would've been pooling from his stump
Fanny can turn her head frighteningly far. There's a sick crunching sound that happens when she does this and it always sends shivers down Alison's spine even after years of hearing it. The other ghosts have joked and compared Fanny to an owl because of this and she chews them out every time
Pat coughs a lot because he's got blood stuck in his throat. He'll randomly have a huge coughing fit, cough a bunch of blood into his hand and then go "Oh no. Anyways..." He also has trouble breathing and has to take breaks to sit down during physical activities like dancing or running. It annoying but not too much of a hindrance to his daily life; it's like having asthma or allergies. The blood can make his voice sound a little weird sometimes too, like he's gurgling smth while he talks. He just clears his throat and keeps going
The plague ghosts vomit up bile every once in a while. It's black, steaming, and putrid but disappears almost instantly
Kitty also throws up when she's excited... which is a lot. She also gets chills, lightheadedness, fevers, and uncontrollable shaking. There's not much the other ghosts or Alison can do to help her besides sitting with her/trying to distract her. She'll lay down and try to breathe through it while Alison reads her a story or the Captain infodumps abt smth or Robin holds her hand. Sometimes she falls asleep, sometimes she doesn't. She's always better after a few hours tho
Fanny gets really bad migraines. Alison's theory is that they're caused by her broken vertebra. Fanny doesn't particularly care why they happen. When they happen, she's in an even worse mood than usual so it's best to steer clear of her. She doesn't have the energy to yell at ppl but will remember the slightest fault and wait until she's better to go on a lecture. Again, there's not much Alison or the other ghosts can do to help besides let her lay down and try to be quiet
Mary and Robin's skin peels off. It's white and flaky and leaves raw red spots underneath. The dead skin disappears once it leaves them but the skin underneath is never healthy and flakes off too
Both Robin and Mary smell like burning flesh but only Mary is detectable by living people. Robin only smells when he uses his powers. It really puts a lot of the ghosts off, especially newer ones
Robin's body also gets affected by his powers in other ways. If it's something small like flickering a light, his hair will stand on end. Something bigger like turning a light on/off or flickering a more powerful light will cause him to spasm. It's usually just his arms and wears off after a minute. Smth really big like redirecting that lightning bolt for Mike will be the equivalent of him actually getting hit w the lightning. His body seizes up, falls over unresponsive and twitching for several minutes, but he's always ok in the end. Alison and the other ghosts get very worried but he walks it off
Julian and the Captain both feel remnants of their heart attacks. Shortness of breath, tingling/numbness in the arms, dizziness, heart palpitations, etc. They both choose to keep it a secret from the others and cover it up but if they're particularly stressed abt smth, they'll start getting chest pains which is harder to cover up. The Captain has excused himself from many social situations to go sit on the floor and try to breathe through the pain and calm his heart. Robin's the only one who knows about Julian's because it happened once while they were hanging out. Logically, they both know they can't die again but it's still scary
Mary likes to sit in the lake because even tho she can't feel it like she would if she was alive, the cold water is soothing on her burns
All the ghosts have days where they just lay abt bc the pain is too much to move. From who does it the most to who does it the least it goes Mary, Humphrey, Pat, Fanny, Thomas, Kitty, Robin, the Captain, Julian

Do you have any BBC Ghosts hcs to share with us?
Of course! I am making a series of those like I did with the CBS Ghosts! I will start posting them this week as a matter of fact! Like I did with the CBS Ghosts, I will be doing 2 characters per post.
At the end of doing them, I will compile a masterlist of the headcanons and post them! I am currently working on compiling all of my CBS Ghosts HCs on a masterlist!

There was once a time, young Ghosts fans, where any one of us could say William or Teddy and know exactly who we meant. That is an experience you young ones may never fully understand
