Something I keep thinking about that irks me
The whole "rice is bad for you" thing is just remanufactured "MSG is bad for you" rhetoric and I think it needs to stop. Rice is a food staple for billions of people for thousands of years…like…shut the fuck up.

tall shadows line of "she was only a kittypet" kinda reminds me of the line "they were only slaves" from the prince of egypt.
What kills me about it is that like, at that point in the movie, the Pharoah Is Bad. Him saying that a billion babies where fed to crocodiles is A Bad Thing. It's the point where Moses realizes he can't be part of the royal family without being complicit.
But Tall Shadow says "calm down, Bumble was less than human anyway" and Gray Wing nods along (complete with the jiggly clicking noise that comes with shaking a can of spraypaint) and this is an example of them being reasonable. Level-headed, even, not getting swept away by the passion of the angry mob.
There are so many levels to how fucked up the Bumble Debacle is that you can't explore every floor all at once. It is an onion. It has layers.

To be completelyyy fair to Graystripe (I mean he still sucks there, I think that last comic is easily the worst of the trilogy for that reason) there is actually a narrative reason for him to be a cunt in that last comic. In the previous two comics, he was hanging out with a kittypet and getting along with her and helping out other kittypets, while being super close to twolegs along the way, and suddenly that got upended when he saw that the twolegs had completely destroyed the entire forest. His shitty attitude and dismissiveness towards Millie and being around twolegs at all stems from him feeling distant from his heritage and hurt that the twolegs he was getting close to would destroy his life, and that hes losing himself by entertaining it so much, and he’s taking that out on Millie, which throws a wrench into their dynamic where he’s been perfectly understanding and respectful of her up to this point, and is suddenly being so resentful of her past as a kittypet who doesn’t entirely drop her past without a second thought. It serves to drive the two apart and bring conflict to the relationship for them to overcome.
…… Of course though the book fails to actually have a decent conclusion to this plot cause it just keeps moving til they get to the clans. Graystripe begrudgingly gets on the truck because “well I guess I HAVE to.” And doesn’t realize that Millie’s closeness to twolegs and loner cats was what helped them there. He never actually realizes that he’s not a fake warrior for Millie’s help or anything. The closest we get is his proposal where he just says “Well I know I’ve been kinda difficult”.
It’s an interesting conflict that makes sense but fails to reach any decent or satisfactory conclusion and just makes this last book a slog to get through.

beating a dead horse but people can be soooo weird about wc deaths. i know we are kinda desensitized to it but like.... some of the things people say are just strange like “russetfur actually deserved to die and lionblaze was right to kill her even if it wasn’t an accident because she was old and brittle at the time anyways. also she mocked a baby stuck in a trap in one book so she deserves death and much more. her clanmates are actually so stuck up and entitled and stupid for being upset lionblaze killed her. they should have expected her to die next time a clan raided their camp and attacked them because she was old. what a bunch of brats. its so stupid when a character who isnt the protagonist is upset their clanmate died and that manifests as anger towards their murderer, idiot should know better.”

Re: OTW Tiffany racism.
For real, I saw a comment to the original post reading, "some y’all are really going off with the xenophobia. / i bet you wouldn’t be reacting this way if tiffany was just a white anti/from a predominantly white country."
As someone who read all of the chat transcripts, all of the comments (as of 12 hours ago) on the transcripts, all the comments, AND all of the comments and replies on the original post, that person is full of shit.
It's like saying, "Tiffany's from China therefor voting against Tiffany is racist". Sorry hun, but no.
This has just highlighted how very grateful I am to be in a (non majority white, lol) country that does not have such profound censorship laws that are violently enforced as China.
People are just crawling out of the wood work to unabashedly look like idiots on this one.
Yes! I saw that same post, and then I saw the other one that tried to sprinkle the xenophobia accusation into an agreement by saying they agreed and then put the "but" followed by their accusations.
It's possible those people might have gotten the mistaken idea that so much as talking about someone being from another country is "xenophobic", but they would be absolutely wrong about it.
Likewise to you having read the comments and replies and such, the only comments I've seen regarding her country were at worst "We shouldn't have Ao3 censoring itself according to other countries’ policies" and at best "English probably isn't her first language, so maybe she's not an anti but rather doesn't understand the questions being asked or how her answers are coming across with the same nuance as a native or near-native English speaker would". I’m glad also that you mentioned being from a non majority white country, because antis love trying to say inflammatory things like the comment in the post you mentioned.
And then you had at least one reply saying OP was “encouraging a pile-on”(which may have been in the one you referred to actually). Telling people to vote in an upcoming election if they’re able to and expressing actually reasonable concerns which do not involve misinformation about a candidate is NOT encouraging a pile-on.
I’d like to think this was an honest (though major) misunderstanding, and it’s still possible that it is. However, considering the inflammatory language being used in general, it makes me more inclined to believe that those are antis.
TL;DR: I absolutely agree with you. People are trying to reasonably inform others that one of the candidates running for a position on Ao3′s board at best sounds too inexperienced to qualify and too evasive to trust, and at worst sounds like an anti and that regardless, you shouldn’t vote for her. Some (probable) antis are mad about it (as they are wont to be), and pulling the usual fallacious crocodile tear act by claiming everyone explaining why NOT to vote for Tiffany are just Racist And Xenophobic White People From Predominantly White Countries.

How will you handle the breakup of ShadowClan? While the rebellious apprentices made sense always felt that Darktail should have done more to actively help the rest of ShadowClan and appeal to them as a better leader choice, because in canon it seems they completely arbitrarily decide that they like him as a leader better without explaining why the older cats are going against their xenophobic culture.
@halogenwarrior
I don’t have a STRONG direction for ShadowClan breaks yet besides knowing that every problem ShadowClan faces, should be related in some way to WindClan refusing to help them. I have strong ideas for how it ends, but the rising action is a bunch of puzzle pieces I haven’t put together yet.
But I DO know that there is a specific problem I want to fix with the rise of the kin; that the ShadowClan apprentices were completely inconsistent.
Darktail first courts them with ANTI-xenophobia, then, a book later, those same apprentices were totally on board with the usual Evil Atheist messaging that WC keeps doing; not feeding elders, training kits, killing indiscriminately, blah blah blah.
One could argue that’s because he started them off on something good, then lead them to bad ideological positions... but I think that’s a stretch. It was weak writing. It’s more of the narrative propping up the Warrior Code as this bizarrely infallible guideline that, without which, cats descend into total lawlessness.
So... what AM I thinking?
WELL, I think I actually want to start the apprentices out as being completely right. Their grievances are probably rash, DEFINITELY not well-spoken, but they ARE born out of compassion. A hard bend towards the Fire Alone ideology. They’re sick of not helping other clans, and of not being helped in turn. When Darktail shows up, he exploits this compassion to get the power he wants.
And by EXPLOIT I mean that he never believed this in the first place. He tells them he named The Kin for being an antithesis to Clans and their emphasis on bloodlines, when he only did that for his own daddy issues. He doesn’t want to take care of the weak and vulnerable. He just needs more cats for his army.
A bunch of cats with similar grievances from other clans join him. Ex-DF trainees, half clan cats, even outsiders who previously would have been excluded from Clan society... and, of course, find themselves unable to leave.
So, many of his ex-followers, like Berryheart, end up taking away the WRONG message here. That outsiders are dangerous. That their institutions will fail them unless they re-commit to their old traditions, reviving the popularity of Thistle Law and setting the stage for The Broken Code.
(and on that note several ex-kin members will probably end up joining the various clans, I do want to try to be clear the problem in this case WAS Darktail and his enforcers, NOT a systemic issue... barring that Onestar’s utter failure created him of course)

i am just so fucking bewildered someone sent YOU an ask accusing you of pretending to be Mexican. Like. HUH???????????? HUUUUUUHHH????
I can only guess it has something to do with the ever ongoing debate surrounding Latine people and what experiences dictate how Latine you are as if you can/have to prove to people that sort of thing… like I acknowledge my Mexican American experience but that doesn’t make me any less Mexican 😭 if anything it’s simply a different experience than what my parents lived in rural mexico lmfaooo

my mom really didn't want isa to be the leader this time because she was worried isa would get into the radar of the other participants and that the ones she would pre indicate to the elimination zone/paredão would want revenge, so mom was siding with davi when he said isa shouldn't be leader because nobody in the house had it out for her, and she's really happy cause she feels isa is protected now, i wanted her to be the leader for the parintins themed party she would choose cause it would be so beautiful but i do think that if fernanda, for example, comes back from elimination (which i think she will if she is against rodriguinho) she will now focus on bia instead of 100% on isa. but also.... #isa leader.... :'(
