Does Belvina have any descendants? I wanted to ask do you headcanon middle names for the members of the House of Black?
Belvina does have descendants, comprised of a secondary Burke branch (soon to be main branch as well due to Burke's granddaughter marrying the heir, her third cousin lol)—currently headed by Belgravius Burke, her eldest son, as well as Arcturus's cousin/lawyer. I don't really headcanon middle names unless it's necessary for me to do so in the story when making up some family history tbh.

For weeks, this question has been plaguing me. I can't find an answer for it. Every night, I wonder about it. I think to myself, why? What does it mean? How did such a thing come to pass? Now, you may be wondering, what is this question that perplexes me so, that has consumed my life. Well, the answer is simple: why is Belgravius Burke called Belgravius? What is its origin? Never have I heard of a person named Belgravius. I know of Belgrave, the village, and Belgravia, but Belgravius?
I really hope this question didn't actually keep you up at night.
The truth is...I made it up. I thought it sounded cool.

I was watching The Crown today and can’t stop thinking about how much Tommy Lascelles reminds me of Burke in your story.
He’s one of the major inspirations for that character, and he certainly serves a similar role in the family as Tommy does for the Royals.

Does this make Sirius Princess Margaret?

BURKE IS SCROOGE FROM A CHRISTMAS CAROL I REPEAT BURKE IS SCROOGE
Lmao he definitely has that exact look and um...basically his backstory as far as career goes? Petition for someone to write a story about three Black Family ghosts (and his dead business partner) teaching him the true meaning of Christmas

I feel like Burke and Arcturus get along, do they?
“If you think Burke will be the one to help you find a way out of your current legal predicament, you are in for a hard lesson, my boy.” Sirius’s lip twitched, but he said nothing—only glared up at his father. “He is your grandfather’s man, through and through—a fact you should well know.”
“Arcturus doesn’t want me in the family,” Sirius interrupted, quietly. There didn’t seem much point in pretending he hadn’t done it, at this point. “And Burke’s not going to tell him about it, anyway.”
“You do not know that,” Orion hissed—raising his voice, but Regulus was the one who flinched, not Sirius. “Why do you think my father pays him so well? It isn’t for his sparkling personality.”
- Black Mask, Chapter 10
Oh, yeah. They are both men of the old school who understand one another. There’s a very chummy relationship there prefaced on mutual respect and sketchiness.

So like what about belgravius, does he has a fam, spill the tea sis i fuckign love Burke
Um....can we file this under a character I never expected anyone to give a crap about?
I DON’T HAVE A BACKSTORY FOR HIM BEYOND THE SHORT HISTORY OF THE LEGAL FIRM I STUCK IN THERE IN THE CHAPTER HE WAS INTRODUCED.
Okay but seriously, all I can say about that character is that I picture him looking like the Insane Asylum keeper dude from Beauty and the Beast.

If you wanted to know what he looks like.....just picture that guy in like....robes...

Prompt, as requested: AU where Sirius was actually able to exercise a little bit of patience and wait three weeks till his trial (or convinced Grandpa, or revealed he was an animagus, or whatever)? Actual narrative or just a summary-style glossing-over-of-events works for me, I'm just interested in how you would have handled that.
Hmmm. I’ve funnily enough never thought about that before lol. But if he had waited he would have been released from jail since his grandfather had been working behind the scenes to make it so, along with having a killer legal team with the one and only Belgravius Burke as head. After that, he would have most likely gone to Pettigrew directly, though perhaps he would have spoken with Dumbles about it instead of just straight up trying to kill him lol. After Pettigrew was dealt with (legally or otherwise) his Grandfather would’ve set up a decent marriage for him (which Sirius would’ve been vehemently opposed to but eventually accepted begrudgingly) and then he’d have some kiddos and live happily ever after because that’s what Sirius deserves! His grandfather will be setting up a match for him (and the other one) in this story but it’ll be in a much more underhanded way lol.
So much could’ve been avoided and resolved if the whelp had just bided his time! But that would make for a pretty boring story haha.

18 and 20!
20.) What’s your favorite minor character you’ve written?
Martin Bletchley, the hapless legal clerk of Belgravius Burke of Burke and Selwyn (M.L.S.) I love how the guy just wanted to file some paperwork to fill prerecs for taking the wizard bar, and his boss got him spying on multiple members of his biggest client’s family.
His reactions to things crack me up.

3.) Fav scene?
I know I already answered this but I’m just going to give a runner up—the scene where Orion catches Sirius and then sneaks him out of the house was SO FUN to write. It’s just like—a serious situation made incredibly absurd, and I love when Walburga comes in the room and just—starts petting Padfoot while her husband silently fumes. AND THE LEASH/MUZZLE. That whole idea had actually originally been something I came up with in an entirely different context—just, the dramatic potential with Sirius’s parents learning about the Animagi thing has been great the mine.
4.) How many words did you write this year?
Uhhhhhhh I mean, I can’t totally trust my numbers because I include epigrams in front of each chapter of the Black Sheep Dog, but…basically about 300,000.
I didn’t have much a social life this spring/summer/fall, clearly.
12) Fav character?
Runner up: developing all my OCs for Black Sheep Dog has been fun from a world-building perspective. I honestly really love Belgravius Burke, the Black family lawyer. He’s just a great Dickensian amoral asshole (just trying to teach his apprentice the best way to handle purebloods, okay)
15) Something you learned this year?
That I can write novel-length fiction, and forcing myself to write every day really develops the discipline required to do it.
30) Fav fandom?
I actually haven’t read that much because all I do is write for you urchins! Feel free to drop not terrible HP recs in my inbox.
