spoilers for mazey day from black mirror season 6... (and long post, sorry!)

so y'all want bo and mazey to be girlfriends instead of what actually happened in the ep? did we watch the same thing?

ok, no hate to anyone here, but we're talking about bo, a person who exploits and ruins people's lives for a living, and mazey, a person who has been exploited and ruined by people like bo. you want mazey to be with someone like that? someone who stalked her, who staked out her house, who followed her to a remote location, who broke into a freaking rehab facility - all to hurt mazey - to catch her in a vulnerable position, to violate her privacy. all for money. someone like that?

i think bo's ending was perfect for her. it was exactly what she deserves. i think bo deserves to be there alone, surrounded by the destruction that her choices caused. with the knowledge that her selfishness, her desire for more money, has not only led to the deaths of two celebrities, but also her friend hector, that nice man from the diner, those innocent people having their dinner. she might make money from the pictures she got that night, but that won't be as permanent as the memories and the guilt.

yes, it sucks (it sucks So Bad) that mazey didn't get a happy ending. but she's there to represent the people who are exploited and beaten down by people like bo, like hector, like freaking whitty. to show that paparazzi don't even need to lay a hand on someone to cause their destruction. everyone wanted to see her at her lowest (the public is who drives demand for pictures, who ultimately decides how much a picture is worth) and so at her lowest, she lashed out at everyone and even at herself. how would dating one of the perpetrators of her condition possibly make it a happy ending for mazey?

so... that's my view of it all, at least. i just think some people are missing out on the core themes of this episode. I'm always open to discussion and respectful disagreement, tho !
