4x03 Jeller Thoughts
I think in the scene when Kurt is hugging Remi, hallucination!Roman is Remi's self doubt.
She was never been allowed to love before and therefore Remi's perception of what love is, is skewed. Love, affection, empathy were all discouraged at Xander. Then when she meets children outside of Xander's setting, she latches onto any affection she's given but at the same time is "confused" about what love is. This leads to at some point, Remi having a relationship with Avery's biological dad. She gives birth to Avery and immediately has her taken off her. Joins the SEALS, Orion etc etc. (Discussing how Shepherd and Oscar is involved deserves it own post.)
This is the first time she is feeling genuine love and affection (bar Roman who, poor man, was as messed up as she is). I think Remi wants to be loved but is unsure of how to act/what to do. Remi is just broken. Kurt had walls, Jane broke them down. Remi has walls, Kurt will break them down.

Sometimes when I type really loudly and angrily Martin Gero hears me and gives me what I want. “The Quantico Affair” is 42 minutes of Patterson and Rich Dotcom. SPECTACULAR (Clink link to read on)

Blindspot Fandom “Meet and Greet” #4
Name/Nickname: Jamie
Where are you from*: US
When did you jump aboard the Blindspot madness: A few months before the first episode. I saw the promo and fell in love with it.
Other fandoms you’re in/TV shows you watch: I’m not really in any other fandoms, but I watch Good Girls, Manifest, Arrow, Monk, AP Bio, Reba, The Middle, and a bunch of others that I can’t think of right now. Currently, I’m binge watching Psych.
Favorite Blindspot characters (main): Patterson, Roman, and Rich
Favorite Blindspot characters (guest or recurring): Allie and Avery
Favorite ship(s): Patterson/Roman will always be my favorite, but I also like Jeller, Repata, and Rich/Boston.
Favorite episode(s): 1x10, 1x17, 1x18, 1x20, 1x21, 2x10, 2x14, 2x16, 2x19, 2x21, 2x22, 3x03, 3x06, 3x08, 3x14, 3x16, 3x19, 3x22, 4x03, 4x04, 4x09, 4x10, 4x11, 4x12, 4x18, 4x22
Favorite season(s): Season 2
Favorite tattoo(s)/case(s): My favorite tattoos are the bird, the burning rose, the honeycomb pattern, and the oil derricks. Favorite case would probably be the Leakhub one with the Garen sisters.
Favorite whatever you want: Patterson and Kurt’s friendship. Their dynamic is easily one of my favorite things about the show and I’m not nearly loud enough about how much I love it.
If you were a Blindspot character, who would you be: Probably a mix of Patterson and Tasha.
One scene that left you with your jaw on the floor: I don't think anything will ever shock me as much as the 2x22 and 4x22 cliffhangers did. Oh, and Jane not being Taylor... Borden shooting Patterson… Roman's death… Jane finding out she had a daughter… Jane reverting back to Remi... honestly, my jaw has just stayed on the floor since the pilot episode.
One dead character you would bring back: Roman. 💔
Tumblr media
One guest star (who has appeared in less than three to five episodes) you want to bring back: Ana Montes, Sofia Varma, or Bill Nye
One recurring character you’d love to have promoted to regular: Allie or Boston
One forgotten storyline you wish they’d bring back or answer: I would love to know more about the  Daylight/Orion stuff, what happened to Sofia Varma, and who the third kid in the flashbacks was.
One country you want the show to visit next season: Canada, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, or Australia
What’s your craziest/favorite theory about the upcoming season: I don’t know if this really counts as a theory, but I do love how we’re all collectively insisting that no one died in that drone strike. (Why am I even mentioning this? They’re all obviously gonna be okay... right? Right?!)
Share a little bit about yourself (don’t be shy)*: ummm, I like to write fanfic… and I’m shy :p

Narval Thoughts Blindspot Season 4
This is a recap of the first three episodes of Blindspot Season 4 because I've fallen behind on the rewatch.
It will contain spoilers (just in case).
Madeline's character introduction is marvelous. Since the first minute is telling us: You are watching the next main villain, the one that will make everyone who came before her and after Shepard look like amateurs. Her starting point is strong, she begins killing all her associates without any regret. When she tells Tasha to put her gun down, she does it calmly and totally unconcerned, showing us how sure of herself she is and how she knows she's in charge. And her quote while toasting: "a woman who knows exactly what she wants". Perfect. I loved it. As if this hasn't been enough, in the second episode she tells us with a wide smile, how she poisoned her husband the same way and how she enjoyed it. Like, this woman doesn't bluff, she's all in. But she does manipulate her image to the rest of the world.
I like how well Remi learned to act like Jane, but I love even more how every now and then she fails to act like her.
I can't explain how much I love that Rich keeps calling Zapata "What's her name?". I mean, they worked together long enough for him to know her name, and he does but arbitrarily decides to continue "pretending" not to know her name.
There are three things I can not be objective about in this show, and Boston is one of those. Patterson and Rich are the other two things, to no one's surprise. My point here is that every time those three meet, it is a great episode. I love Boston's passive-aggressive comments and Patterson's comebacks. I love his humor and the constant "egos fight" with Patty when we all know that deep down they love each other. I mean, she called him to work on Wizarville. And I love that he calls her Pat-Pat.
I complained before about how bad the camera movements and focus were, and at least in these three episodes, I can see an improvement. The movements are smoother, and there are almost no out-of-focus. I don't know if they practiced more before shooting or if they changed the cameraman, but it works better. I mean, look at the scene with Remi and Boris in the second episode. The camera circled around them and the focus never went out. It seems a little dumb to be happy about it, but compared to the other seasons, it makes a difference.
About the whole situation of Reade and Tasha, here's when I dissociate the most. I mean, I like how everyone is looking out for Reade because they know what it means for him that Tasha left the way she did and I like the way they try to support him too. But my mind is Zapatterson 100%, so every time Patty talks about Tasha in these episodes, my mind works in the background imagining the same situation but with Zapatterson being canon. I can't help it or even control it, it just happens.
But I do like Patty trying to have some dates or casual encounters, but like always, she is never lucky enough. Not even when she's trying to have a one-night encounter. And she's so clumsy about it, almost adorable, and a little embarrassing, how badly she lies to try to hide it from Rich and Weitz.
About Weitz... I previously said I liked the one from seasons 1 and 2, but being honest and rewatching these episodes, I think it was just because of the green power ranger syndrome, that I already talked about. But honestly, he's a great character. He is now here to hinder the investigations, making sure nothing makes him look bad, politically speaking, even if it messed up the cases. But at some point, it became hilarious and likable. Like his enthusiasm in the third episode with the Quantico recruits and his proposal to bring the field to them, it's almost adorable.
And I love how Patty finally confronts him, the whole conversation between them at that tense moment was perfect. Like, she told him what needed to be said.
But the whole third episode is a great one, and I could be talking about it for hours, so I'd better finish this post here 😅

Apparently I didn't do this the first time round (what was wrong with me?), so here are my 4x02 thoughts:
Really cool puzzles in this episode - both the magnetite map and the ATM have such great solutions. I wonder who came up with the creepy facial recognition gas-ATM.
I get why Patterson was so pissed at Boston to begin with this time around (the whole 'I coded a backdoor into Wizardville so I could snoop on people's phones' thing was a massive betrayal of trust, even if he then apologised and helped the team arrest his terrorist boyfriend), but why was Boston so mean to Kurt? 'You got one, Limpy!' I'd love to see you survive a gut shot, Boston (and let's be realistic, if they hadn't stopped the show at season 4.5, he probably would have gotten one, because gut shots are Blindspot's favourite injury - Mayfair, Jane, Roman, Patterson, Kurt, Keaton, Weitz...).
I've said it before and I'll say it again - as much as I love both Rich and Boston, the comedy gay couple/sassy gay friend trope makes me facepalm. I just don't get the sense in this episode that these men are attracted to each other, despite Rich's cooing. They have sibling chemistry, not ex-lovers who are still pining for each other, and they remind me of children squabbling over who gets the first cookie. 🙄 At least 4x08 goes a little way towards fixing that (until Rich ruins it by being a total asshole).
Remi's face when Sokolov describes the FBI as hamstrung by bureaucracy and ego is just awesome. She's like, 'Yep, this guy gets it.'
And again, the FBI's 'shoot first, ask questions later' policy comes back to bite them, because if Sokolov had lived, no 4x08... 🤷‍♀️ But also, I have no idea how they would have written it into the show, so...
The Remi and Roman scenes just made me so sad, because Remi is completely alone, talking to her brother who isn't there, trying to justify herself and her convictions (which we see at the start of 4x03, she isn't that sure of. 'Of course I can kill my husband...but not right now, that wouldn't be the right time.'
They really could have used the 'Zapata was on the plane, but not really' plot thread to make everyone cry, but they didn't bother. I wonder if they filmed a scene or two that were cut for length. I'll forever be sad that we never got any deleted scenes for seasons 4 or 5. 😭
Sometimes Blindspot is as subtle as a brick to the face with its cases and subplot parallels, but they did a great job with this episode. Sokolov being able to convince agents from multiple agencies to hand over documents, because there's no inter-agency cooperation, goes nicely with Keaton's complete lack of inter-agency cooperation re: Zapata (and why does it need to be kept so super secret that even a team working to take HCI Global down can't be read in, Keaton?). And Madeline's gleeful confession that she killed her husband pairs really well with Remi mixing up a little gift for Kurt at the end of the episode.
Audrey did so well with her 'I hate this undercover assignment' scene. Poor Tasha. Even though I don't see why Reade couldn't know, I do feel awful for her.
Madeline has such potential to be a great villain, but they just didn't bother to go anywhere meaningful with her. Helios was pretty masterful as a plan, but her underlying motives with her father are tissue-paper thin. :/ It makes all of the Helios arc feel kind of pointless, in retrospect. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio does a great job, but after Shepherd and Roman, Madeline is just meh. Plus Remi just steals the show with her plotting and scheming.
Remi turning an argument around on Kurt again is so much fun to watch, and especially the way she course-corrects with the giant eyes and 'I just want to help people, just like you' stuff. Makes me think of the Jane-as-Goth!Remi episode, where she's just overly bitchy. 😁
Brb, squeeing over every moment of Remi now! Especially her knowing that he'll be first through the door to save her, even though she doesn't remember anything about being in the field with him from being Jane.
