Unofficial Bluey Timeline: Part I
This post will be covering the beginning of season 1 of Bluey, starting from Magic Xylophone to Shadowlands. As a reminder, as we are at the beginning of the show, we start at Period 1, where Bluey and Bingo are 6 and 4 respectively. Period 1 won't take until season 2 to end, so there's not much to worry about.
The Magic Xylophone - Episode 1
Bluey and Bingo make use of a supernatural xylophone to control their dad. It's here where they learn to take turns.
Debuts & Details:
Aside from debuting the main Heeler family, Chloe's mum and her newborn baby appear for a scene (before Chloe which is odd).
Chilli describes Bandit picking his nose when they first met.
We get a first look at the Selfie portrait in the kids' bedroom. It stays the same throughout the series, but this episode uses the first iteration of the image, which lasts until about season 2.
In terms of the timeline, this automatically gets the first position, being that this is the first episode. There's nothing else to it, pretty much.
Favorite Part: When Bingo freezes Bluey to discuss her feelings is a great moment
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hospital - Episode 2
Bluey and Bingo operate on their dad using their doctor knowledge.
Debuts & Details:
No character debuts, but we do see that cat plush in later episodes; We also see 'Polly Puppy' appear, and has prickles that need to be removed
We get a first look at the kitchen fridge, which is one of the frequent locations we'll look for throughout the timeline. However, the view in this episode is blocked by Bandit
We learn that cats can sneak inside a dog's belly button while asleep.
Bandit uses the alias 'Telemachus', making it the first play name used in the series; meanwhile Bluey and Bingo are referred to as 'Doctor' and 'Nurse' respectively.
Nothing much to say about this episode, as there's little detail about its placement in the timeline. Therefore, it gets placed after Magic Xylophone.
Favorite Part: That part where Bluey says "STING!" That's gotta be my favorite part. You'll never guess which instance I'm referring to. ever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keepy Uppy - Episode 3
Bluey and Bingo engage in a game of "Keepy Uppy", where they prevent the premature death of a poor, red balloon.
Debuts and Details:
We see the debut of Lucky and Pat (aka Lucky's Dad, he's done his hammy)
We get a clear look at the fridge, which contains three papers held by a blue, red, and yellow magnet, as well as letter magnets of 'B' and 'C'
Again, another episode that's pretty timeless and fun with it's idea. A certified Bluey classic, if you will.
Favorite Part: "She saying Good Morniiiing!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Daddy Robot - Episode 4
Bluey and Bingo employ a so-called "Daddy Robot" to tidy their room. It goes exactly as expected.
Debuts & Details:
Debut of 'Daddy Robot' as well as 'Mummy Robot', who suspiciously look just like Bandit and Chilli 🤔
This marks the first instance of a 'fluffy' by Bandit
Bandit is seen eating a bowl of leftover fried rice, possibly from the 'Takeaway' place.
Just noticed the fridge handles are flipped in this episode compared to the previous episode. I believe this is the only instance of this, making it an error, though I think it's so the audience could see Bandit eating. Don't quote me on that tho.
Pretty goofy episode, I enjoy the character of 'Daddy Robot'. Such a shame we never see him ever again. Depending on the interpretation, this could take place either before or after 'Takeaway'.
Favorite Part: The first smoochy kiss
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shadowlands - Episode 5
Bluey, Coco, and Snickers learn to play by the rules of Shadowlands, or risk being eaten by crocodiles.
Debuts & Details:
Coco, Snickers, and their respective mums make their debut
First episode to take place outside of the house
Chilli will eat your cupcakes
Very highly important episode, as it establishes the importance the rules have within an imaginary game. Quite literally the backbone of the show.
Favorite Part: The problem solving during Shadowlands is neat to witness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With that, thus completes part 1 of the Unofficial Bluey Timeline. This is generally how every post will be structured. Leave any comments about any episode discussed, or about the structure of these posts. Being as I'm new to blogging, any feedback would be helpful.

Unofficial Bluey Timeline: Part IX
Mums and Dads - Episode 41
Indy and Rusty have some time away from each other.
Debuts and Details:
This is a sequel to the previous episode, "Early Baby," making it this series' first two-parter.
Polly is now in a green cloak
Apparently, "Terrier" is how to call out one singular Terrier from the 3 Terriers.
We spot Gruber among the classmates in Calypso's, being his only appearance there; This is his last appearance overall as of "Cricket".
Speaking of which, Zara, Missy, and Juniper are seen in Calypso's school despite being in Mrs. Retriever's class.
This is the only episode so far where every one of Calypso's students [up to that point] shows up in some capacity.
Favorite Part: When Bluey makes Rusty her child.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hide and Seek - Episode 42
Bluey forgets her game of hide and seek
Debuts and Details:
Bluey is known for being easily distracted, especially during hide and seek [this episode's conflict].
We are properly introduced to "Chattermax", including its main functions, behavior, and OH MY GOD IS IT ANNOYING. also, who doesn't program an ON/OFF function?
The lizard-thing has a name, "Gerald" (Probably for the game)
Bingo can currently count up to 14
Favorite Part: When Chilli becomes more concerned about cleaning the shower while waiting for Bluey.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Camping - Episode 43
Bluey befriends a tourist.
Debuts and Details:
We have the debut of Jean Luc, a French Canadian Labrador whose family went camping in the area. [Labradors are Canadian breeds]
Stripe is seen with two spots on his head, rather than one. Technically, the same thing occurred during "Bob Bilby", where he had that, and was also colored red.
Bingo has another bush wee.
This episode features the first flash-forward scene, where Bluey and Jean Luc reunite after (as the wiki claims) 10 years.
Favorite Part: I like Chilli's whole talk with Bluey about special people and the memories that come from interactions; and while all that is happening, Bingo is casually doing her bush wee.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mount Mumandad - Episode 44
Bluey and Bingo climb on their parents
Debuts and Details:
The family went to a theme park called "Crazy World," which could be a thin reference to "Dreamworld" in Brisbane (mostly by name), which the network, ABC Kids, had partnered with.
The game of "London Snap" is introduced.
Favorite Part: I appreciate the bonding between Bluey and Bingo under the tent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kids - Episode 45
Bluey learns to not choose favorites.
Debuts and Details:
There is one additional background character that debuts, and it's a character that looks very identical to the "Poffertje man" from "Markets", but is credited simply as "Customer" (could be a twin brother).
For recurring background characters, there's the greenish-white curly dog (from Markets) that shows up walking towards the store when we first arrive; the brown dog w/ brown spots is named "Docket Boy" in the credits, and is the same one from "Markets", and not "Postie" as originally listed in Part IV; There's the basenji produce vendor from "Markets" who picks up toilet paper. Finally, there's the dark purple Poodle (also from Markets), named "Checkout Lady". (I'm noticing a trend here🤔)
We see that there are no stickers in the back of the car, despite previous episodes showing otherwise.
Bingo plays as Snowdrop for the second time; and adding to the 'Snowdrop' lore, Bandit plays as Snowdrop's older brother, Diddums.
Bluey argues that she can run the fastest, and we see that during the episode when she outpaces Diddums during the basket chase.
Rocko is revealed to have a mother, that is doing well.
Favorite Part: When Diddums takes control of the shopping cart, and Bluey has to chase him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chickenrat - Episode 46
Bingo recalls the day's events to find Floppy
Debuts and Details:
Bandit is revealed to have difficulty with Sauerkraut. Depending on the version of the episode (darn Disney Corporation), he is either allergic to it and uncontrollably sneezes, or he gets problems and uncontrollably burps.
"Floppy" is a male, according to Chilli in the start of the episode; but Bluey (and Chilli afterwards) later says 'she' when referring to "Floppy". This could mean the first line by Chilli was a script error.
Favorite Part: This episode was kind of a bore to watch, but I guess I liked the Chickenrat lullaby.

Unofficial Bluey Timeline: Part VIII
Backpackers - Episode 36
Bluey and the gang pretend to be bags.
Debuts and Details:
Bandit and Chilli are revealed to be occasional backpackers for trips, including one for India, as noted by their photo next to the Taj Mahal.
For this episode, a new upright model for Socks was created for the Backpacker game. The main difference is found in the size difference of Socks' head between models. This looks similar to the current model of Socks post-season 2 but with slight design differences.
Bananas are equivalent to 6k in Dollarbucks.
The backyard porch from "Horsey Ride" is seen once again, after several episodes of not being present.
Jeremy the Gnome (the Blue and Yellow one) has a casualty, and gets repaired by the end.
Despite the fact that Socks has the passports before they empty the backpacks, Muffin is the one who drops them.
Favorite Part: When they become hiking boots
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Adventure - Episode 37
Bluey and Chloe play Princesses.
Debuts and Details:
Both Bluey and Chloe exchange practically all the roles, except Bluey exclusively plays the Kindly Queen, and Chloe exclusively plays the Grandma Fairy.
Bluey breaks Universal Rule #1 when she says "Hurray" while playing as the horse.
King Kong is canon in Bluey.
Both Bentley and Zara are seen with Calypso, despite being in Mrs. Retriever's. This isn't the last time this will happen, and I don't get why.
Favorite Part: When Chloe catches the tennis ball with her mouth. So real-life dog.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Copycat - Episode 38
Bluey copies Bandit
Debuts and Details:
It is briefly mentioned that the Olympics exist in the Bluey verse
We see some new background characters in the vet (including the vet), with one recurring character being the Surfer lady from "The Beach"
This is the first confirmed death of the show, coming from a budgie
tbh, I don't get why we haven't seen cats in this show yet.
Favorite Part: When Bluey inadvertently copies her dad while re-enacting the budgie event.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Sleepover - Episode 39
Muffin skipped a sleep.
Debuts and Details:
Muffin had recently found out that Coconuts have water in them.
Bluey and Bingo play as wife and husband respectively (for the first time), while Muffin tags on as "Sheila".
The chip shop Bandit runs has a star on its sign, likely being a reference to a Michelin Star, an award reserved for the highest quality food and restaurants.
Chilli briefly shows her job as Airport security when she plays as the police.
The selfie photo in the kids' room briefly changes to a new version of the photo, but only partially cut off-screen. (It doesn't become a permanent change until season 3).
Favorite Part: Destructive Muffin
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Early Baby - Episode 40
Rusty steals a baby.
Debuts and Details:
The BBC-distributed versions recolor the hospital crosses to purple instead of red, likely to avoid confusion with the real-life Red Cross.
Indy is revealed to have a sister, the only mention of this sibling so far. It's also good to note that just like in "Calypso", her baby's name is "Polly" (It's the same name in the next ep, although all 3 episodes have different doll representations of "Polly", which only begs the question on the name's significance to Indy).
Rusty misspells "Hospital" as "Hostible", a flub by the voice actor that was kept in.
Favorite Part: Snickers moving past the screen the first time. "Rawh"

Unofficial Bluey Timeline: Part IV
Welcome back to another installment in the Unofficial Bluey Timeline; this week, we'll be covering episodes 16-20 (Yoga Ball thru Markets).
Yoga Ball - Episode 16
Bandit plays too rough
Debuts and Details:
The yoga ball is what Bandit sits on due to changing Bluey's diapers in the past. We do see him with a normal, green chair when the yoga ball is elsewhere.
While the stairway room has minimal changes, it IS missing a drawing of a dog near the glass doors on the left side (pic #1)
We get the first glimpse of the "Please" face running gag
(What constitutes as a "Please" face, is ears drooped, hands crossed, sparkled eyes, and sometimes a verbal "Please")
Bingo plays as "Lan" for a short bit, and Bluey reads a green book with a koala face on the cover.
This episode is when Bingo learns how to do her "Big Girl Bark", which brings up an interesting situation, considering she was able to do this in "Takeaway", meaning this would take place before that episode.
According to the Bluey Wiki, this was the first episode to be produced for season 1, which could explain the last bullet point (Takeaway was #4).
This episode is also the first time the girls' ages were revealed to be 6 for Bluey, and 4 for Bingo (Which we already assumed for this timeline)
In the end of the episode, the yoga ball ('Bally') sports two rainbow and one unicorn sticker, a callback to an earlier scene.
This episode, like some other season 1 episodes, was a tad slow, but still enjoyable
Favorite Part: The please face that gets me every time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Calypso - Episode 17
Bluey and schoolmates create a society
Debuts and Details:
Calypso, as well as Rusty, Indy, The Terriers, and Pretzel make their debuts.
Coco, Indy and Chloe play as mothers, and their kids' names are [UNKNOWN], Polly, and Rodrick.
The Terriers play as "Romans", which means romans existed in the Bluey-verse.
Rusty and Indy are set up as the caretakers for Polly.
Episodes with Bluey's classmates are cool to see, especially if its for the whole episode; its nice to step away from the main family and see the other kids spend time on screen.
Favorite Part: Pretzel being a bum; he's unironically my favorite character despite getting little screentime after this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Doctor - Episode 18
Bingo runs a clinic
Debuts and Details:
Bingo's plush rabbit "Floppy", makes a very brief appearance when Bingo is operating on Lucky.
Bluey plays as "Edna", while Bingo plays as the doctor (a swap from "Hospital")
Just your average playdate episode. cute.
Favorite Part: When Bingo starts operating on Lucky (like why does she charge towards him like that?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Claw - Episode 19
Bluey and Bingo learn the claw machine
Debuts and Details:
"Grey Dancer", Bingo's plush dolphin appears.
Bingo does bark, but it isn't the signature "Big Girl Bark"
Chilli is eating a salad, her favorite
Bluey and Bingo sit in opposite seats than usual, although given the fact both are harnessed similarly, it doesn't entirely matter.
This is the second time they are shown in the car, so I guess I'll describe what the back looks like;
There's a green bag, loose almonds, and some pens/pencils thrown around. The booster seats also look very identical to each other (it looks like they copy-pasted, the flipped it), and importantly nothing in the middle seat (although the driver angle shows the middle with two cushions).
The front door room now has a red seat instead of a yellow seat (which went missing in "Horsey Ride")
Both Chilli and Bandit use their left hands to portray the claw, which many suspect them as being left-hand dominant users. (Das cool)
Bandit misspells the word "Holder" despite having a PhD in Archaeology (Possible answers: "Holdr", "Holdre", "Holber", "Holdeer", "Holderr", "Holeder", "Holda", "Holdar")
The first instance of the girls admitting they didn't learn anything
I like how this episode shows the method of play by both the parents, as Chilli operates the claw to be fair, but not challenging, whereas Bandit operates the claw to be challenging, yet rewarding while also highlighting the negative effects of game addiction. He turns it into a lesson that while unspecified and a bit harsh, is effective in its own right.
Favorite Part: Definitely Bandit's claw machine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Markets - Episode 20
Bluey and Indy attempt to spend money
Debuts and Details:
This is the first of several instances of the "Floss" dance being shown, cuz this series is so hip.
Chilli can't floss, but Bandit can. Das why he's still cool.
Apparently 5 bucks is the new norm for the tooth fairy.
This ep was altered in Disney releases due to a controversial scene of a horse taking a massive dump in front of children.
Indy is revealed to not eat foods with added ingredients, wheat, sugar, gluten, and dairy
"Markets", like "Bob Bilby" before, has many new and returning faces in the background, so I'll make this more of a "Who's there" showcase, than a simple debut (BOLD for debut)
We start off with the background filler characters that surprisingly all show up in the first shot of the market. Via crappy description, this includes from left-to-right, Tan colored dog; light orange dog w/ lighter ear tips; dark purple dog w/ white hands; greenish-white curly dog; dark blue curly dog; Brown top white bottom dog; lavender colored dog; white dog with back spot that only appears for one scene for some reason; orange dog that looks like Rusty, even down to the tail design; and finally brown dog w/ brown spots [He shows up in later episodes, and is named "Postie" by the wiki].
Next shot shows Indy's mum and her shop, as well as Indy.
A zoomed out shot shows a brown-orange-white dog in another stall, but covered up by a teddy bear display and newspaper. [The wiki claims this to be the "Surfer" dog in "The Beach"]
After Indy joins Bluey, we see Rocko releasing bubbles in the air, as well as Mrs. Retriever in another stall; zoom out again and we see Pat (Lucky's Dad) shopping.
We see our first recognizable debut of the "Pony Lady", a brown gradient dog, and her two ponies, "Biscuits" who's decorated as a blue Pegasus, and "Buttermilk" who's dressed as a pink Unicorn.
The German Sausage stand is operated by Gruber and his dad.
The Poffertjes stand is operated by the "Poffertjes Dog", a light brown husky of Dutch descent.
Cornelius, Winton's dad, shows up offering toffee apples; Winton does later show up in the ep to get his dad a German Sausage.
Busker, an orange dog musician and definite fursona of series composer Joff Bush, makes his debut.
Buddy donates 5 dollarbucks.
Gruber gets carrot juice from the juice stall operated by Juniper's mum and Juniper.
Juniper gets carrots from a basenji in a produce stand.
Honey's mum, Daisy purchases mushrooms from the same place.
At the end of the episode, Bluey looses another tooth which is never discussed about or even shown in any episode afterwards. In the development of the timeline, this could lead to two scenarios:
Forget the fact she lost another tooth, and proceed with the later episodes. (Preferred method, b/c its simpler to forget the tooth as it doesn't serve any purpose afterwards; also cost-effective cuz why would they have to alter Bluey's model to remove a single tooth?).
Let the tooth grow back, and assume the next ep doesn't happen for another month or so (Could set back the episode in terms of the timeline for no exact reason, or if left alone, makes no sense why we have to wait for that long for a single tooth to grow).
Favorite Part: "5 Bucks", I like how the interaction serves as short argument between the parents, while at the same time maintaining the allusion of the Tooth Fairy for Bluey. (I mean the tooth fairy is real, right?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This concludes the 4th part of the Unofficial Bluey Timeline. Pretty interesting findings for this week with the bark and markets. If you have any questions about these findings or any that I missed, as always leave a comment in the post. With that, see you next week for another installment of the UBT.

Unofficial Bluey Timeline: Part III
Welcome back to another installment in the UBT! In this week's post, we'll be discussing Episodes 11-15 of Bluey season 1. Can we get 10 notes?!?!?
Bike - Episode 11
Bluey learns to ride a bike.
Debuts and Details:
Episode introduces Bentley, one of Bingo's classmates, as well as Chloe briefly.
This episode focuses on Bluey's journey of riding a bike, to which she is still learning.
Episode takes place in a park, but not the same space as "Shadowlands". Could be a different park or different area in park.
Enjoyable episode that teaches us to not easily give up on ourselves, even when it feels hopeless. I like how the ending is open-ended, cuz it doesn't really matter that Bluey can ride her bike, but that she could.
Favorite Part: Muffin's meltdown
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bob Bilby - Episode 12
Bingo invites Bob Bilby for the weekend (🤯OMG A REFERENCE!!!).
Debuts and Details:
Obviously the titular "Bob Bilby" makes its debut, as well as.......... (in list of appearance)
Four unnamed parents that are assumed to be parents of Harley, Jasper G, Juniper, and Bentley (left to right).
Mrs. Retriever and her whole class (Buddy, Jasper W., Jasper J., Missy, Sadie, Harley, Juniper, Bingo, and Bentley).
Mrs. Terrier is mentioned to have taken Bob Bilby to Scotland. (This may be the same character as the Terriers' mum, but she won't be seen until season 3).
Frank, Chloe's dad, shows up near the shop (at least his head).
There is a mention of a Steve-O, one of Bandit's friends.
Bingo is seen incorrectly fastened onto her booster seat; this wouldn't change until season 2 after complaints.
Bluey is revealed to be a former student of Mrs. Retriever's, as evident by the fact she knew Bob Bilby from a previous visit.
Trixie is first seen alongside a red-tinted Stripe at the mall; this is later corrected during the firework scene.
Bluey is seen riding her bike a considerable distance, meaning she has learned successfully to bike, and the episode "Bike" has to happen before this episode. This may seem like a no-brainer, but in terms of the timeline, we must consider that certain eps HAVE to take place before others.
This episode spans the most amount of in-universe days so far, with a length of at minimum 4 days (accounting for a 2-day weekend)
One of the first episodes to contain plenty of information for the timeline. And what a fun episode it is. I love the bilby that is named "Bob", easily top 1 characters of all time.
Favorite Part: "Are you ready, Bob?" - Chilli (Why was she rizzing Bob like that?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spy Game - Episode 13
Bluey and friends struggle to maintain the game during a BBQ (OMG ANOTHER REFERENCE!!!🤯🤯🤯).
Debuts and Details:
Debut of Honey, her parents (Daisy & Marcus), and Mackenzie's mum.
There's an error during the "Honey's mum dancing" scene, where Bandit is at the grill when he's supposed to be at the restroom with Bingo. What's also interesting is that Frank is supposed to take his place from a previous shot, only to be replaced by Bandit in the aforementioned shot.
Bingo plays as "Sparkle Shot", yet Bluey doesn't use that name for her until the end (unusual🤔).
The first instance of Bingo busting (or bursting, I think it's the former)
I like how the episode attempts to teach the lesson the more traditional way with Bandit's demonstration, but even with it not working, the problem with Bluey and Bingo get resolved in its own way that still works.
Favorite Part: Anything with the guards, specifically when they block Frank from the sausage tray.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Takeaway - Episode 14
Bandit orders Chinese food.
Debuts and Details:
Debut of the "Takeaway Lady", the only other side character that shows up in this ep.
It's also the first mention of "Chutney Chimp", although there's an argument that the first sighting of the chimp was with Muffin's backpack in "Bike"
Bluey somewhat knows how to turn the water knob on, but doesn't know how to turn it off.
Bingo plays as "Tap Girl" when Bluey serves her food.
The second consecutive instance of Bingo busting; AND the first instance of a "Bush wee"
Bandit really likes his spring rolls
There's a possible scenario between this episode and "Daddy Robot" in terms of the timeline.
The takeaway they get in this episode is the same that Bandit is seen eating in the begginning of "Daddy Robot"
Or the takeaway that Bandit eats in "Daddy Robot" leads to them buying more in this ep.
Personally, I'd like to go with the former scenario, since there's not much that changes in terms of the timeline, and it helps keep things interesting in terms of placement. Theoretically, this ep could happen at any time, but its these connections that make the timeline interesting. Other than that, this is the "Trying to break Bandit's limits" episode, and I'm all for it.
Favorite Part: "If grown-ups grow from babies, and only grown-ups have babies, who had the first baby?" - Bingo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Butterflies - Episode 15
Bluey plays butterflies with other next door neighbor.
Debuts and Details:
This marks the debut of everyone's absolute favorite, Judo
Judo mentions a "Casper" during her phone call with Bluey, though no idea if this is pretend or real
Judo apparently has a thing against small children, which included Bingo until the episode's conclusion. This is strange given that Judo is seemingly an only child (although with the later season's tendency of introducing new siblings, it might not be the case).(It's probably from experience)
Bluey's school has a swing.
The backyard sandpit is missing throughout the episode [should be near the tree]
Great episode, but never understood the hate for Judo. Yeah she's rude here, but remember most of these characters are like 5-6-7 y/olds. And it's not like she doesn't like Bingo by the end. Honestly, this is why D+ needs to release "Dirt".
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And with that ends another installment on the Unofficial Bluey Timeline. This batch has certainly brought up many details and scenarios for the season 1 timeline. Hopefully we get as much progress on next week's batch, as we cover more of Bluey's friends, a claw and a ball. As always, leave any comments about things I may have missed, and I'll see you next week.

Unofficial Bluey Timeline: Part II
Welcome to another post of my Unofficial Bluey Timeline. This part will be focusing on "The Weekend" through "Hotels". I will also be highlighting the recently found 2017 pilot of the show, since it pretty much is plot-for-plot a remake of one of these episodes (P.S. if you haven't done so, always read the alt text).
**But first, an update regarding my last post. While making the videos for this week, I stumbled upon a program called HandBrake, an open-source video transcoder. This was because the episode backups I mentioned were MKV files and couldn't properly work on my editing app. There, I found that it could do way more than simply convert file types, but also change resolution, apply video filters, and much more; so I found myself experimenting with how to enhance my copies, especially for the season 1 episodes. To keep it short, the program made the episodes better presentable (no distracting interlacing!), and I'll likely use them for any future video uses.**
So, without further ado, lets get in.
The Weekend - Episode 6 (and the pilot)
Bluey scams Bandit into buying magical statues.
Debuts and Details:
The walking leaf (which as of last week's recent ep "Slide", is apparently named "Leaficus") makes its grand debut.
Being as this was built off the pilot of the same name, the animation moves similar despite changes in the characters' models. This is why the episode feels janky and off-model compared to the rest of the season, b/c it is.
In the pilot, Bingo sleeps on a separate room opposite to Bluey's. While this would switch to both sharing the room in the final show, that exact room wouldn't show up in another episode until "Bedrooms" 3 years later. It's there where we learn that both girls used to occupy the room as babies before moving into their current room, which somehow lines up with the pilot (Bingo, the youngest one, occupying the leftmost room).
It would take ages dissecting every single change here, so I made a quick comparison vid of some key moments.
(Pilot video came from original Streamable upload [Just learned it was taken down :(]; Final video came from Internet Archive, as I hadn't set up HandBrake to clean my copy atm)
Differences in Character pilot design: Bluey: minimal differences aside from different orientation of back spots (They're not Disney-shaped, as I call it) Bingo: Snout shape and size bigger; Dark orange top is now two round spots on each side; back has many spots instead of just one. Bandit: Only left side of head is dark (reminiscent of a spot); no tan belly. Has the more drastic design differences of all. Chilli: Her dark brown spot is often not present, or swapping around sides. In the final episode, her brown spot overlaps her snout, other than the other way around.
What a weird way to make an episode about the weekend. This episode doesn't really rely on plot, and just shows us a glimpse of the Heeler family, which is still neat. As for the placement of this episode on the timeline, by rule the final version of the episode is considered canon as opposed to the pilot. Despite both version's plots being very similar, and the separate room pointed out earlier, it doesn't seem fair that an older version of an episode would be in the timeline, as it doesn't fit with the rest of the series.
Favorite part: The walking leaf scene, I quote it everyday w/ an exaggerated accent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BBQ - Episode 7
Bingo prepares a pepper capsicum salad.
Debuts and Details:
This serves as the introduction of Uncle Stripe (Bandit's brother), and his side of the family, featuring Aunt Trixie, and cousins Muffin and Socks.
There is a mention of a "Auntie Mary" and her salad dressing recipe, but she is never mentioned in another episode again.
This is the first of many episodes that have been altered in international releases. For this, every mention of 'capsicum' is replaced with 'pepper'; no significant cut of scenes occurs, as mouth flaps were the only aspect changed between versions.
Streamable link, cuz I just learned there's a one video limit
The intro scene with Bluey and Bandit prepping the grill serves as the first of a recurring element of the two copying each other, either through movement or verbal.
5 cans and a water bottle were destroyed during the episode.
Bingo learns how to turn on the hose
Chill episode, you get to feel the struggles of Bingo wanting to relax, while also tasked with creating the best pepper capsicum salad imaginable.
Favorite part: When Bingo is getting the salad dressing. The scream, in particular, gets me everytime.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fruitbat - Episode 8
Bluey learns to dream in order to become a fruit bat.
Debuts and Details:
This marks the debut of Mackenzie, his dad, as well as Rocko
This is the first episode to span multiple days, going from night to next morning (2 days)
The stairway wall has no changes from its last appearance, however the fridge is reoriented to how it was in "Keepy Uppy"
Bluey is revealed to like fruit salad.
Fun episode. However, the main plot doesn't exactly start until 4 minutes in. Wish there was more to the dream than just flying and eating fruit, though; perhaps something more imaginative.
Favorite part: Bingo's iconic shot of her sleeping.

Horsey Ride - Episode 9
Bluey and the gang ride their dad's as horses.
Debuts and Details:
Polly Puppy, Bluey's special toy makes its debut
Bandit and Stripe play as Gallahop, and Sparkles, and they are technically married at the end.
There's what seems to be a porch in the backyard, that I swear never shows up ever again (unless it does, in which I've haven't seen it)
Universal Rule #1 of imaginary play - Animals can't talk; there is a clear violation by both horses during the wedding scene
Fun episode, nothing to say other than flirty Bandit is my favorite screencap.

Hotel - Episode 10
Bandit books a room at the Heeler Hotel.
Debuts and Details:
Bingo is Slobber-Dobber, I guess? Aside from that, there's really nothing else to bring up
The episode, while being fun, doesn't really have much to talk about, timeline wise and in general. It's not bad per se, but it's very minimalistic.
Favorite part: Bluey smacking Bingo's head on the bed.

With that, part II is complete. While there were some interesting details with this batch of eps, they haven't caused too much of a dent in terms of the timeline. Surely, next week, we get some nifty details for our timeline. As always, leave any comments about details I may have missed, and I'll see you next week.

Unofficial Bluey Timeline: An Introduction
For the past few weeks, I’ve been working on a super top-secret project with the thought of, “What if Bluey could be sorted onto a linear timeline? This would definitely solve all the world’s biggest questions”.  What benefits does sorting all 150+ episodes of Bluey do? Absolutely nothing, but it makes me feel better so I’m doing it.
But first, a word...
This timeline is completely based from my observations of each episode, and while I am open to any outside opinions, most of what makes this timeline will be up to me. Because of this, the timeline isn’t meant to be taken by literal value. This timeline is simply made for fun and appreciation of the show. It’s up to you the viewer on whether or not you want to believe in my interpretation.
With that out the way, let’s discuss how this works.
I watch an episode, note any details from either the setting or script, and use those details to determine where this episode would occur in the timeline. Posts will be made weekly every Friday at 12 pm. Each post will contain details for 4 or 5 episodes. At the end of every season, there will be a compiling post that firmly sets where every episode gets placed within the main timeline. And as extra fun, I’ll attempt to define what real-life timeframe these episodes would occur.
If there are any updates to the timeline, I will use indents like this to mark any new findings.
Within the main timeline, there are three separating periods. These periods are based on the ages of both Bluey and Bingo, with Period 1 being the start of the series where Bluey was established as 6, and Bingo as 4. As of the recent episode of this posting, "TV Shop”, both Bluey and Bingo have aged up by one year in the main show (7 and 5). That makes up Period 3, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves.
**The Rules:**
The episode order we’ll be following will be that of the original Australian airing order. Because of this, each episode reviewed will be that of the original Australian versions, meaning those lousy edits those darn people at Walt Disney Company tm©®, don’t count.
Episodes will by default be lined up on the timeline adjacent to one another (Ep 1 -> Ep 2 -> Ep 3). Unless there is substantial evidence within an episode that seems to suggest a different or locked position, episodes will be set as such. Given the generalized time setting for most episodes, they could technically happen at anytime, so to keep things simple we have this rule. If a scenario were to occur where an episode _could _take place after a future episode, I’ll likely place them after said episode. Why? Cuz unless specified, it doesn’t do much change; also it makes the timeline a tad more interesting.
Episodes will be placed based on their plots in the present. That means no flash backs/forwards will influence the timeline in any way.
The Bluey Timeline will strictly follow the events of the main show, which rules out content from other media, like books, music, and even shorts. The ONLY exception to this rule is the “Bluey’s Big Play”.
Every post for the Unofficial Bluey Timeline will be tagged with #Bluey_UTime to differentiate with any common posts/reblogs made here. Comments can be left either on posts or through the Ask on my homepage. See you Friday.

Unofficial Bluey Timeline: Part V
Welcome to another installment of the Unofficial Bluey Timeline. For this week, we'll be covering episodes 21-25 from "Blue Mountains" to "Taxi". As always, if there are any questions regarding the current state of the timeline, leave a comment below. I encourage the reblogging of this and previous posts, as it helps with spreading the project.
Blue Mountains - Episode 21
Debuts and Details:
Bluey plays as the Little Sister, Chilli plays as the Big Sister, Bingo plays as the fairy, and Bandit plays as the sneaky fox/mountains.
Given how the episode is focused directly on the game being played, it could be argued this would take place when Bluey's tooth (or teeth) are being regrown, but as spoken in Part IV, we won't take that into consideration.
Bluey's teeth are shown to be grown back, so that last point doesn't really matter too much. Just imagine that in Bluey's world, the teeth grow back magically in a day.
How they even move their fingers like that?
This is probably my least favorite episode of the series. I feel this episode tells a more basic story but doesn't really make it its own, like other story-based episodes. I did like the exaggerated hand movement, but that's it.
Favorite thing: I oddly smile when Chilli gets her hand stuck in Bandit's mouth, and the scene zooms out to show the reactions. The act is pretty disgusting, but I can't help but see this as a cheerful moment between the couple. Honestly, it reminds me of "Smoochy Kiss", but we're getting too ahead of ourselves.

The Pool - Episode 22
Debuts and Details:
This episode takes place in Stripe's house, well his pool actually.
Chilli is fanning herself with what appears to be the "Takeaway" menu brochure.
During the same scene, Bingo is reading from the green book from "Yoga Ball"
Both Bluey and Bandit talk through the fan in a similar robotic tone, sort of copying each other. (Granted, Chilli sort of teases this)
Stripe and family are currently on vacation to Bali, which is likely the providence of Indonesia. (He's got the money).
Bluey can swim, but Bingo still needs floaties
Bluey also doesn't know how to shake properly.
Dogs need sunscreen
The episode is clearly happening during a hot day, likely during summer. And given that previous episodes also suggested hot temperatures ("Keepy Uppy"), It suggests that season 1 could be taking place during summer. It sort of adds up, since the season ends on a Christmas episode, when Australia has its summer solstice.
Ngl, I giggled at the dad jokes. But to be serious, how do you forget pretty much everything you need to swim? Pretty irresponsible for our daddy role model. Anyways, we now know for sure this season takes place in the summer.
Favorite thing: The scene where Bingo and Bluey grab for Bandit's attention near the end. The way that Bluey says the same thing as her sister, but with a different word that brings more emphasis, while also emphasizing those words in the line delivery, just feels so accurate to actual children. It's those niche details I also enjoy about the show.

Shops - Episode 23
Debuts and Details:
Lilly Pillies are common fruits in Australia and are grown year-round, generally in summer.
Universal Rule #1: Animals can't talk; this is once again violated when Honey says 'Hello" on the 7th attempt of Shops.
They say 'Doot' like 40+ times, I couldn't count them all (i've failed you all)
Rusty ex-machina saves the day.
This episode teaches about the setting up of imaginative games and how overdoing it could lead to confusion. I appreciate how these sorts of conflicts get resolved by way of compromise, as both Bluey and Mackenzie have done their own damage. What I didn't like was how this particular conflict was resolved. Pretty much everything gets resolved the moment Rusty joins in.
Favorite thing: Photo #3

Wagon Ride - Episode 24
Debuts and Details:
There are 3 additional extra characters added at the bus stop: a white granny dog; a tan dog with hat and earphones; and a tan reskin of Bandit lol.
The fridge appears to have changed, with magnet lettering presenting the phrase "TRU E BLU", which could mean "True Blue", which means extremely loyal. "True Blue" is also the name of an Australian folk song in 1982 (the 80s) that was sung by Pat in season 2.
Bluey learns the "Bandit attention" method (couldn't think of a better name)
This episode once again has Bingo do her "Big Girl Bark"
Rocko appears to be listening to the same album as Chilli from "The Weekend"
Bluey mentions hanging upside-down "and be a fruitbat", a reference to the ep "Fruitbat"
Bandit says his iconic "Gotta be done!" line, which Bluey copies at the end of the ep
Beautiful backgrounds throughout, all that there is to say. Top tier Bandit episode without the fluff.
Favorite Part: Bandit's lesson with Bluey

Taxi - Episode 25
Debuts and Details:
Millicent, a dog doll with a crown and blue gown, makes its debut. The concept of SatNav is also introduced, being portrayed by Chilli.
Bluey sits in a red office chair and later a black office chair, so what happened to the green office chair from "Yoga Ball"?
Bandit says like, too many food slurs here (no dignity)
This episode also introduces our first pretend grannies. Granted it's not THOSE grannies yet, but Bingo and Chilli act out as unnamed grannies in the latter half of the ep.
The fridge goes back to what it looked it like previously, with the 3 papers and B-C magnets.
I'd say this is the weaker of what I like to call, "The public transportation trio": episodes focused on a particular transit vehicle ("Taxi", "Trains", "Bus"). Still a fun episode, but they definitely do better in the later season.
Favorite Part: The doodad scene
