Well, these are two very different shows.

In Backpackers, Noah plays Ryan, who embarks on an pre-wedding backpacking trip across Europe with his party friend Brandon. Both shenanigans and hijinks ensue as Ryan changes his mind about the trip and tries to reunite with his fiancee. In the US, Backpackers is available for free on the CW. Watch the trailer here:

In Titanic (not that Titanic), Noah plays Harry Widener, a charming young man (based on a real life character) who has an ill-fated romance before things happen (I don't want to ruin it for anyone). I know Noah isn't technically a lead in this, but I had to do some adjustments to make the categories work. Watch the first episode here:

Hola. Pues estoy contento porque ha llegado mi libro número… no sé, ya perdí la cuenta, sólo sé que he publicado de manera independiente más de 15 libros y no hemos dejado de hacer ruido desde entonces.

Pero bueno, finalmente escribí un libro que hace tiempo tenía pendiente. Yo me fui de mi casa bien morro, tenía como 22 años y recién había terminado la universidad, había estado trabajando como esclavo en el estresante ambiente bancario como cajero y la neta estaba frustrado y triste con mi vida. Yo sabía que no podía desperdiciar mi juventud atrapando en cuatro paredes con la promesa de un futuro al que no quería arrugado, panzón, triste e infeliz.

Y recuerdo bien las palabras de mi jefe y varios amigos y familiares ¿Qué vas a hacer? Como que esperaban que emprendiera un negocio o algo. Yo tenía unos ahorros, no me compré un coche, un iPhone o me lo gasté en cheves y morritas. Mejor me fui a conocer mi país. Tenía miedo y casi no conocía a nadie que se hubiera ido. Los que hacían lo mismo que yo no estaban dando consejos en el internet sobre viajes como ahora; esos los conocí en la calle, mochileando, haciendo malabares, tocando en taquerías, bailando en las esquinas o vendiendo pulseras.

Toda esta experiencia me animó el espíritu y nunca volví a ser el mismo. Con el tiempo me convertí en un hippie, me desprendí de mis prejuicios conociendo mucha gente, me hice amigos de ancianos, señoras, artesanos, músicos y mucha gente interesante que me escuchaban sin juzgarme. Por eso me fui soltando, abracé quién era y me volví fiel a mi mismo. Eso con el el tiempo hizo que me volviera muy seguro de lo que soy y por ende me valía y me sigue valiendo dos kilos de 🍆 lo que la gente piensa de mí.

Muchas historias de esos viajes vienen en varios de mis libros. Pero este es diferente, este libro es el ánimo que yo alguna vez necesité para irme. Es la invitación a moverte y disfrutar el vértigo que implica tener la vida por delante. Y que siempre habrá algo de lo que duela desprendernos y a la vez algo mejor esperando a encontrarnos.

Y como dije en el libro: muchas cosas tienen solución y esa solución muchas veces es irse.

Round 2A: The 100 vs Backpackers

The 100: When nuclear Armageddon destroys civilization on Earth, the only survivors are those on the 12 international space stations in orbit at the time. Three generations later, the 4,000 survivors living on a space ark of linked stations see their resources dwindle and face draconian measures established to ensure humanity's future. Desperately looking for a solution, the ark's leaders send 100 juvenile prisoners back to the planet to test its habitability. Having always lived in space, the exiles find the planet fascinating and terrifying, but with the fate of the human race in their hands, they must forge a path into the unknown.

Backpackers: Getting cold feet just before their nuptials, Ryan and his fiancee embark on separate trips to Europe with their friends. Ryan realizes he wants to reunite with his betrothed, but the search is complicated by the fact that they never exchanged itineraries. To top it off, Ryan's journal disappears, then is posted online by the person who took it. Ryan, who dreams of becoming a published author, travels from Thailand to Canada with his friends in search of the culprit and his journal.
