agree with you, espec because some of the "mature" things people get flack for is like.. making out. or even god forbid implying sexual attraction.. which is so bananas

genuinely has to be younger people who haven't been in fandoms before, bc i don't think there's a single show centered around highschoolers that doesn't have fics exploring sexuality/attraction and letting them make out sloppy. and normally that's not a problem, even nsfw fics that usually exist in any regular ao3 tag climate are filterable in sub 10 seconds. that's why tags on ao3 exist. and i've never in my life accidentally stumbled into an untagged explicit fic on ao3. and the fact that the "too mature" blanket is so broad that i've never even seen a byler fic that doesn't feel the need to tag "making out" to warn ppl is crazy. it's just making out. why are people getting attacked for this? and then you have the same people loosing it over some kissing complaining that there's not enough people writing fics. i wonder why
