Balloon Collection No. 7 - 1 Yard Fabric Have you ever stood close and next to a hot air balloon right before its lift off? I was on a road trip and discovered by happenstance that there was a balloon festival taking place in the very town that I was passing through in Arizona. I had never been to a hot air balloon festival before. So, I decided to stay a while. I rose early the next morning, before sunrise, to arrive at the field where the balloons were preparing for their flights that gave me the opportunity of a lifetime to get up close in the midst of all the action to take hundreds of photographs that I have used to create the Balloon Collection of fabrics. This is a great fabric of choice to coordinate with Nos. 8, 9, and 12 in this collection. INTENTION: GROUNDED

Exercising stillness and a slower existence as we spend this time at home is providing a window of opportunity to become more in-tune with our spaces. While we are digesting how we are currently living in them as a collective we are also imagining how we could live better within them too. Instead of our spaces feeling like an elaborate prison cell we can help tune them to be a true reflection of our lifestyle, an intimate and sacred space that provides us comfort and security. To nurture us and all whom enter.

To bring us and our homes to these vibrations we encourage practicing grounding rituals. These can be acts that are simply to pass the time, or that expand your mind or body, maybe they stretch your creative depths. Anything that keeps you to be present and tuned into your space and how you interact with it. You don’t have to be a professional, no ones looking and remember you are in a safe space, your home and you are working to nurture yourself and those within it and all whom may enter in the future.

We’ve provided a few definitions of the word grounded below to help you start off on the right foot.

Our hope is that through this mindful exercise you will see where you can improve your experience in your homes. Maybe it’s by decluttering, rearranging furniture, slapping on a fresh coat of paint, nesting, fiddling with decor, working on projects you haven’t had time for, Marie Kondoing every square inch of your home. Maybe it requires some renovations to make your space function appropriately.

Whatever it is, now is the time to become acquainted with these areas that may need tuning. To take notes as you are practicing these grounding rituals and how you are interacting within your home; asking yourself if your space is serving you and providing you with a nurturing environment to carrying out these rituals that help you find stillness and to remain present as we all collectively reunite with nature and humans in the coming months.
