Marvin Gaye murdered by his father, 1984 The soul singer of the 80s, known as the Prince of Motown, was shot and killed by his father, Rev. Marvin Gay Sr. after an altercation. (Note: The "e" was added to the singer's stage name.) Gaye's brother Frankie, reportedly held him in his final moments. In his memoir, Frankie wrote that his brother's last words were, "I got what I wanted…I couldn’t do it myself, so I made him do it."

Winter adventure

19th December 1971

With a breathless giggle and a tiny bit of determination Camilla pushed Charles a few inches away from her mouth. “You’re choking me, darling,” she panted, but had a slaphappy smile on her face.

Charles had arrived at her flat some 10 minutes ago, and none of them was aware how they had landed on the sofa kissing love-crazed like there was no tomorrow. Charles, however, did wonder how he had managed not taking Camilla’s clothes off. There simply wasn’t anything better than feeling her soft skin on his, than her curves under his –

“You’re naughty,” Camilla chuckled as she felt something hardening against her crutch.

“Wanting to worship you is naughty?” Charles asked, mischief glittering in his eyes, and kissed a soft spot on her collar.

Camilla made a languorous sound and winded beneath him. She knew she could easily get lost under his attempts to seduce her. “You know we’re going on an adventure today, darling,” Camilla stated, “and Mummy won’t be happy if we’re late,” she added and kissed his nose.

“Your mother will forgive me almost everything, darling,” Charles chuckled and pushed Camilla closer to him again. Her wonderful breasts pressed against his chest, and Charles would rather have an adventurous day with them, he thought.

Camilla laughed, pushed Charles away from her and managed to get up. He looked at her with puppy eyes, so she grabbed his hands and pulled him up to her. “A little adventure with me, tea with Mama and Papa in the afternoon, and then back home into my flat,” she smiled encouraging, “it’s going to be fun, trust me!”

Charles sighed, “I’m going to be terrible at ice skating…”

Camilla wrapped her arms around her boyfriend’s neck. “You’re underestimating yourself, darling. You’ll do great. And I’ll be by your side and catch you if needed, not only while ice skating, more like… always,” she almost whispered her last word, “promised!”

Charles’ breath tickled Camilla’s face and his heart overflew with emotions. Camilla was a miracle he couldn’t grasp and he was sure that he didn’t deserve her, the most wonderful human being on this planet… And he decided then that he would love her forever, no matter what came to pass. It was not so much a matter of deciding as accepting the inevitability of it. He was meant to be by her side, he just knew, no matter what Uncle Dickie or his grandmother said…

Camilla was well aware of the flood of emotions that flooded Charles’ eyes, but she just kissed his nose one more time before she kissed over his right cheek to his ear. “And when we’re back here you can do with me whatever you want,” she breathed, “I’m all yours,” she added with a purring voice and bit into his earlobe in the most arousing way.

Exhaling sharply, Charles pushed her as close as possible against his body. He couldn’t find words to tell her how he felt. “I adore you,” he brought out and kissed her hair.

Smiling, Camilla stroked his cheek and placed a simple kiss on his lips. “Let’s go then,” she declared.

Plumpton looked even cosier than usual on that cold winter day. It had snowed the past days and the pond was thoroughly frozen. Unlike in London, the snow looked white and wonderful, and the Shand’s garden looked like a winter wonderland. Rosalind had put stars in the windows and a mistletoe hung next to the front door.

Charles and Camilla had greeted the Shands shortly, but now they were off to the pond behind the Shand’s garden. Usually, there were children playing, but on that Tuesday noon children were still at school and the young lovers had the pond all for themselves.

They were both wearing thick coats, gloves, scarves and woollen hats to keep warm. Camilla was already wearing her skates, and was trying her best to help Charles getting into his. Finally, it was done, and with a bit of fear in his eyes Charles teetered behind Camilla who was already machining pirouettes on the ice. Charles couldn’t help but thinking how wonderful she was, how graceful, how lovely her body even with those thick clothes… “You’re wonderful, darling,” he called and smiled enchanted.

“So are you,” she called back and skated nearer to him. “Give me your hand, I’ll help you,” she offered, but Charles shook his head. “I can do it,” he declared, and with wobbly legs got onto the ice, his legs drifting apart immediately.

Within a millisecond, Camilla caught him and helped him to stand tall again. He just looked so cute, she thought, and couldn’t resist to kiss him. After a few kisses, she pulled away, and took his hand into hers. Her petite hand drowned in his huge hand, but she couldn’t imagine something better. It was perfect – they were perfect, she thought and gave him an adoring glance from beneath her woollen hat. With Charles, almost everything was perfect – if only he wasn’t a prince…

Charles showered her with love, every single day… If the couldn’t see each other, they talked on the phone, and if they couldn’t talk on the phone, he sent her letters, and if he couldn’t send her letters, he sent someone from the palace to bring her a bunch of red roses. Yes, he showered her with his love, even when he was tired after a stressful day. He made her smile, laugh, and she fell in love with him deeper every day. She knew he loved her heart, her mind, her being. And her body, too, she though with a cheeky smile. They were obsessed with each other, but not in a creepy way, in a cute and fulfilling way. And they couldn’t get enough of each other. Camilla knew that, just like herself, Charles couldn’t wait to come home to her flat later today, and she knew, too, that they wouldn’t find much sleep tonight. Charles had much stamina and could keep her on the go literally all night. She blushed a little, but grinned happily.

“Wouldn’t it be perfect if we had some music?” Charles asked and stirred Camilla from her thoughts. She looked at him with her stunning blue eyes so full of love for him, that Charles shivered. “What have you been thinking about, my ice princess?” Charles asked and squeezed her hand tightly.

Camilla stopped skating, which almost brought Charles down, but she gave him hold. “How much I love you,” she admitted almost shyly, and brought her arms around his neck.

Charles’ face lit up, as always when she told him that she loved him. He grabbed her hips and lifted her up. Actually, he wanted to swirl her around, but he had forgotten they were on ice… Charles tumbled, Camilla squealed and with a loud bump they landed on the thick, cold ice.

For a few seconds everything was deadly silent. Then Camilla, who had landed on Charles, woke up from her shock. “Darling!!!” she called with a voice that was much higher than her usual voice, “darling, are you okay?” She carefully shook Charles.

Charles was quiet for another second, and then started to laugh. “Yes,” he rubbed his knee, “yes, I’m fine. Don’t worry, sweetie,” he added, “I’m good!” He tried to get up, but it was difficult with the skates on.

“Thank god,” Camilla exhaled relieved, got up and helped Charles up as well. “Are you sure you’re alright?” she asked. Charles looked at least a little shaken.

“Don’t worry, Fred was just being clumsy again,” Charles pulled a face. “But can we go back to the house?”

“Yes, yes… of course,” Camilla pushed him from the ice. “I need something warm inside me anyway.” She wanted to bend down to get rid of her skates when Charles next to her chuckled full of mischief.

“You’ll have something warm inside you later tonight, darling, I’ll make sure you will…” Charles grinned.

“Oh God,” Camilla shook her head, but laughed as well, “you’re outrageous…” She stalked to his side and kissed his ice-cold cheek. “I was rather talking about tea… but…”

“… my offer sounds irresistible?”

“Exactly,” Camilla agreed and blushed.

“Did Milla beat you at speed skating?” Bruce’s chuckled sounded through the living room. He would never leave anyone in doubt just how much he loved his eldest daughter and how proud he was of her. “She beats everyone, even Mark.”

The fire in the living room sent a wonderful light and a wonderful warmth. Rosalind’s dark blonde hair got a unique colour from it, especially as she slightly shook her head as she looked at her husband.

“I think I need to train Charles a little more before he can compete with me,” Camilla laughed and sipped at her tea.

Charles looked at Camilla, then at Bruce, and then at Camilla again. “I’m hopeless, darling, you know that.” He grabbed her left hand and stroked it tenderly with his thumb.

Camilla’s face flushed a little. Probably, she’d never get used to how natural Charles was with showing affection in front of her parents – or people in general. “You’re lucky,” she smiled, “I love you anyway,” she whispered, and Charles smile got wider than wide.

“Are you looking forward to Christmas?” Rosalind asked.

Charles loved Rosalind, if only his mother could be a little more like her… “Not really, no,” Charles shook his head and watched Rosalind’s eyes growing wide.

“Oh…,” she stuttered and blinked.

“I would be if I’d be able to spend it with Milla… you… your family,” Charles admitted, “with my family it’s… well, it’s difficult,” Charles said almost boyish.

Rosalind’s mouth escaped a gasp. “Oh,” she uttered again, “well, you…,” she bit her tongue.

“With you I feel welcomed and warm and…,” Charles stopped and looked at Camilla, who had kissed his hand holding hers. “I’ll miss Milla so much,” he sighed.

Bruce tried to ease the situation and laughed roguish, “well, my lad, if you ever can escape your family, you’re more than welcome to have a good Christmas party with us. Christmas with the Shands is never dull!”

Charles laughed, “I imagine…! I hope that one day, I can,” he added almost silently.

Charles and Camilla waved at Rosalind and Bruce as Charles sped off the yard. He couldn’t wait to be back to London. “Do you remember what you said this morning?” Charles asked innocently.

“Hm?” Camilla asked.

“About you being all mine…?”

Camilla bit her lip and looked out of the window. The snow didn’t look very picturesque her at the sides of the streets.

“Milla?” he asked.

Turning her head, Camilla grabbed his thigh. “You can do with me whatever you want,” she repeated her words from the morning with her sexiest voice. “Just anything you want…”

Her hand wandered up and down his thigh, and Charles accelerated the car once again…

That year was a rough year for Spears, and it started the famous meme: “If Britney Spears can make it through 2007, then I can make it through today.”

Before she was married to Kanye West, Kim Kardashian was in a serious relationship with another singer: Willie “Ray J” Norwood. The couple reportedly filmed a sex tape back in 2002 during a trip to Cabo, Mexico, and it was released to the public five years later when Kim began getting more media attention for being friends with Paris Hilton (who also has a sex tape). Kim sued in an attempt to prevent the 41-minute film from being accessible, but it still found its way to the internet.

The NYC Medical Examiner’s Office later determined that the cause of death was an accidental overdose of prescription painkillers, including anti-anxiety meds and sleeping pills. The Dark Knight, starring Ledger as the Joker, was released that summer in theaters, and his performance won him a posthumous Oscar.

Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna, 2009

Back in 2009, Chris Brown beat up then-girlfriend Rihanna after she discovered a text message from one of Brown’s former flames. The “Forever” singer reportedly punched her in the face, repeatedly bit her, and choked her, but not to the point of unconsciousness.

Michael Jackson was found dead on June 25, 2009. The cause? Surgical anesthetic Propofol, which was given to him by his personal doctor, Conrad Murray. Murray claimed to be injecting the King of Pop with the drug as a treatment for his insomnia. Jackson’s death was ruled a homicide, and Murray blamed for negligent monitoring. He spent two years in jail for involuntary manslaughter.

The world was shocked when Whitney Houston was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in 2012. An autopsy revealed that the singer died from accidental drowning. Her body was found with numerous drugs in it, including cocaine, marijuana, Xanax, and Benadryl. Houston had heart disease, so it is thought that the disease mixed with cocaine contributed to her death.

Following the 2014 Met Gala, leaked surveillance video captured Solange Knowles physically fighting her brother-in-law Jay Z in an elevator at the Standard Hotel in New York City. Although there was no shortage of speculation on the internet, the Carter-Knowles family gave little information as to what actually went down. “They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family,” they said in a statement given to the Associated Press.

Although the family has remained incredibly mum’s the word on the situation, Jay Z broke his silence in 2017 to share that he and Solange truly have moved on. “We had one disagreement ever. Before and after, we’ve been cool. She’s like my sister. I will protect her. That’s my sister, not my sister-in-law. My sister. Period,” he said during an appearance on Rap Radar.

30 Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift feud over “Famous” lyrics, 2016

Kanye’s infamous “I’mma let you finish” at the 2008 Video Music Awards turned out to only be the beginning of his beef with Taylor Swift. In 2016, Kanye released the song “Famous” on his The Life of Pablo album, which explicitly mentions Swift in the opening: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? Smoke that cigarette

12th October 1982

Camilla giggled and covered her mouth with her hands. “I can’t believe she really did that…,” she pressed out before she giggled again.

“Fingers crossed that Laura won’t have that idea,” Eve grinned.

It was one of those big parties in one of those big houses with the who is who of the British upper class in attendance. Of course Camilla and Andrew had received their invitation as well. But after a few drinks and two dances with his wife Andrew had disappeared. Camilla, dressed in a chic black strapless gown with a rather daring cleavage, was still torn between caring and not caring anymore at all. Deep down her she cared because she loved Andrew, because she loved her family, their children… But she wouldn’t think about that now, she would enjoy the party, she would laugh and dance and flirt with friends.

“Would you mind terribly if I’d snatch Milla for a dance?” Peter asked, stumbling next to the friends chatting at the bar.

“You can have her for one of the funky disco songs,” Eve stated graciously, “but just because I want to learn from her sexy dance moves…”

Camilla rolled her eyes with a grin. “I guess you both have had a bit too much…”

“That’s what parties are for!” Peter declared and pulled Camilla on the dance floor.

Camilla chuckled, but moved to the rhythm in the most perfect way immediately. She’d always been an amazing dancer. She felt comfortable in her body and it showed in her every move.

Peter tried to swirl her and with a giggle she landed in his arms. Laughing she patted his shoulders, but suddenly was quiet. Her body tensed as she looked straight into an only too well-known face and found that face staring back at her with wide eyes.

“Everything okay?” Peter was worried.

“Sure.” Camilla found herself again.

Charles still stared at her how she swirled over the dance floor. She looked to die for, she always did, but in that dress especially. Shyly Charles waved when the song ended.

Trying to keep her cool Camilla walked slowly over to Charles. He looked terrible, there was nothing left from the young, vital man he had once been. It pained Camilla, it pained her immensely- even more since she knew the reason for his state from the few letters they exchanged every now and then. “Hello… Charles,” she breathed and shook his hand- she didn’t dare to kiss his cheeks though everything inside her longed for it.

“Hello,” Charles paused for a moment, “Camilla,” he uttered her name as if it were holy- and to Charles it was in a way.

A small smile played around Camilla’s face when he uttered her name. “Haven’t seen you in a while,” she brought out.

“Yeah,” Charles looked at his feet, not sure how long he’d be able to withstand the urge to fling his arms around her and kiss her. He felt what he had always felt in her presence: love and aching awe and gratitude for her.

Camilla cleared her throat. “So… how’s the baby?”

“Oh… he’s… he’s very jolly.”

“I think I need a bit of fresh air- and a cigarette.” Nervously she fumbled in her clutch, trying to find some.

“If you go outside I’ll go with you.” Unconscious Charles placed his left hand on her small of the back. Ignoring the many people who tried to talk to him he made his way to the cloak room and asked the servant for both their coats. It didn’t matter to Charles that the poor servant tried to explain that the garden actually shouldn’t be used tonight.

“So, you still can’t leave your hands off them, can you?” Charles asked when Camilla finally lightened her cigarette.

“Ahhh, you know me…,” she shrugged her shoulders, “I can’t survive a day without one,” Camilla chuckled somewhat desperate.

“That’s not true. You didn’t touch one the second you knew you were going to have Laura. Or Tom. And that one time we were on that small island-”

Camilla gulped and chocked Charles mid-sentenced. “That was a long time ago,” she stated and tried not to think about her happiest holiday ever, not even two years ago. Looking away she tossed her cigarette on the ground.

“Milla,” carefully Charles touched her cold hand, “Milla, I…”

“Don’t,” she whispered and loosened from his grip, trying to turn.

“Darling,” Charles held her hand tighter now. “I love you.” He tried to touch her face, but she turned even more.

“Please,” Camilla sobbed, “don’t say that.”

“I’ve tried to let you go and I cannot,” Charles felt like sobbing, too. “But I can’t stop thinking of you, I can’t stop dreaming about you.” He still held her wrist tightly. For nothing in the world would he loose her touch now. Gently his thumb caressed her trembling hand and carefully his left hand neared her face. Charles felt the hot tears that silently run down her face, ruining her make up. “Darling, it’s always been you even when I didn’t want it to be, even when it broke my heart over and over again. I can’t and won’t stop loving you, I tried and tried and I can’t. It’s just always been you and it will always be you. You and me, Milla, we belong together.”

Camilla was about to give in. She knew Charles was right and she knew there hadn’t been a second he hadn’t loved her, just like there hadn’t been a second when she hadn’t loved him. Of course her heart ached for him, of course her lips yearned to kiss him, but it couldn’t be. They were both married to someone else, they both had children with someone else.

Charles, in his desperation, saw her inner fight in her eyes, and he hated to see her cry, he hated that he was the reason for it. Without a further thought he pressed his lips on hers and felt like flying.

Camilla just stood there stock-still, she didn’t know for how long, but finally pushed him away with a determination she wasn’t sure where she’d gotten it from. “Don’t ruin your life,” she whispered and gulped her last tears down.

Charles wanted to tell her that his life was only a ruin when she wasn’t there but Camilla choked him.

Tenderly she took his face in her hands. “You know I love you, Charles, I always will with all my heart and every fibre of y body. And I will always care for you and listen to you and help you, just like friends do.” Having said that she kissed him, deeply, and stroked his face before she pulled away. “Goodbye Charles,” she breathed and with quick steps she almost run back into the house while Charles stood on the terrace motionless and tried to understand what had just happened.

Still wearing her coat Camilla almost stumbled over her husband who greeted her with a “Milla, you look terrible.” Camilla wasn’t sure why but she just let fall into Andrew’s arms and felt him wrapping his arms around her while aspirating a kiss on her hair. “Do you want to go home, dear?” he asked and she just nodded against his chest. “Alright,” he nodded. He didn’t ask her what was up with her, he could imagine who was the reason for her unusual behaviour, and he wouldn’t be the one to blame her. “It will be alright, Milla,” he said, kissing her forehead, hoping he was right.
