I'm not sure if anyone's done this before, but I haven't seen any so I thought I'd make a tag game. just for funsies.

there's absolutely no pressure to tag or to even play, I just wanted to compile all my favorite parts of the series and I thought it'd be fun to share! so without further ado...

My TLT Favorites

Favorite house(s): 4th and 2nd. (my favorite characters are from these houses, but also something about John creating an army in his resurrected empire and having his soulless "dead kids" be in charge of a house that breeds dead kids)

Favorite book: Gideon the Ninth. my beloved. hands down. every page is fully annotated.

Four favorite characters: Gideon Nav (i love all these characters but no one even comes marginally close to how much i love her), Teacher (he's the funniest mf in here), Jeannemary Chatur (BELOVED), John Gaius (he's literally just some guy, but I'm absolutely obsessed with the verse chapters)

Favorite ship: Jodybeth (griddlehark is endgame ofc but there's just something about these two)

A favorite scene: Nonius vs Wake fight (I'm sneaking in more favorite characters, but I just can never get over how Ortus saves the world with fanfiction. king)

Another favorite scene: Nona's 3rd tantrum (I love to see my women screaming and drenched in blood)

A favorite quote: "Won't you say one real thing to me? Won't you show me one single solitary human thing? Or are you going to die talking to me like it's just another party you wish was over already?" (htn pg. 546)

also "Yes, well, jail for Mother" (htn 498) and "...beneath a blue and foreign sky." (gtn 439). I think about all three of these constantly

Favorite ATN theory: Alecto is a hideous corpse. (not sure what this entails yet, but I love Teacher so much, and I don't think we spent that much time on him for nothing)

Several Great Dokkaebis were incarnating before my eyes. Tsu-chuchuchuchuchut! As if it had turned into stone, my hand reaching out towards the 'sacred texts' froze up in place. This shouldn't be happening. [You cannot acquire that story.] Dokkaebis weren't able to interfere with the main scenarios. No, actually, some did try indirectly to pick fights with us, but there had never been an instance where a Dokkaebi with "Great" as its classification personally distorted a scenario like this. However, these ones had betted away their Probability and did indeed intervene with the scenario. [<Star Stream> is violently convulsing!]

What is going on!

Oh man, both the Wenny people and the Dokkaebis seem to be becoming so important in this later part of the novel but I really don’t know what their end goals are or even how they’re directly affected by the Star Stream, the end, perhaps even ORV itself. Or perhaps not affected.

So the Dokkaebi are definitely part of the Star Stream, at least the Great Dokkaebis are according to Dokja, though who knows about the Dokkaebi King, but at the same time they’re 1) not really all that worried about its possible destruction if their reaction to the Apocalypse Dragon vs Indescribable Distance is any indication, 2) are able to see and possibly travel to other worldlines, and 3) the Dokkaebi King at least seems aware of the fact that there’s no more story beyond the 1863rd round since he’s the one who told Secretive Plotter that he arrived at the end too quickly, i.e. before it’d been written. (Or read…I still have some very, very vague ideas as to how Dokja relates to all of this.) So the Dokkaebi King has perhaps known that they were inside a novel this whole time??

And the Wenny King seems to be just as informed? Perhaps moreso? Just on the complete opposite side?

So the Wenny people want to bring the failed/forgotten stories to the forefront while the Dokkaebi want to keep them squished down into non-stories that the “characters” can’t even recognize as people/memories/story fragments, aside from those few like Dokja or Secretive Plotter, but I don’t really know the why of both sides yet.

Aside from a very general “keeping the status quo” vs “helping the abused underdogs.” Which, knowing ORV, there’s likely more to that even if that’s the general theme.

Also, maybe Dokja isn’t going to be turned into an outer god???
