Charcherry Weekly - Issue 131
Hello everyone, Mage of Light Nick Card here! There was definitely a lot packed into one day! We got an entire week to cover though.
At the beginning of the week, Rogue of Heart Charles focused upon trying to repair the prospitian warship that he had attempted to use last week. This resulted in them somehow accidentally yeeting off at warp speed 4 into space. Because of this, Charles decided it would be a much better idea to use a speedboat instead.
On the day of the expedition, Charles spent a considerable amount of time getting the boat deployed and ready. Along with him, the available initial expedition team was comprised of Samus Kitten, Mage of Life Blaze, and your dear newsletter writer. We boarded via the newer transportalizer pad set up near the pokemon center in Unity Village and rode the waves for a long while. Eventually however some weird stuff started happening. The first notable thing was that our sylladexes were replaced with a different inventory system, known as the "ZGASCI". It is assumed that it stands for "Zero Grist Alchemy Setup Construction Interface", as that seems to describe how it operates. However, it is plainly clear that its more of an upgrade to the minecraft modus to give it breaking, crafting, and building capabilities, in addition to storage. I'm assuming that the "break" function (which can be activated by punching) converts an effected something into an abstracted cube form, which can be upgraded by equipping specialized tools that it is programmed to be compatible with. These details however were not recognized until later. Soon after the inventory change, a mysterious lazor attempted to slash the speedboat in half! Soon enough, the boat sank and we were left to navigate the waves towards the closest dry land. By sheer luck I managed to be equipped with the LEGG, though it could only activate swim assist mode. Eventually, we made it to dry land and soon found the mostly intact wreckage of the speedboat. All equipment was in place, but it was quite clear that the boat was not in any condition to be driven. Fortunately the healing machine still worked. Beginning to explore the land, it was clear that the pokemon population is quite high and varied, though largely unconfrontational (though there were still encounters from time to time). I used this opportunity to train Pory the porygon, using the old switch-out technique for safety. It was soon after this that the capabilities of the ZGASCI were dscovered. From then on, I let my minecraft instincts take over. It was rather unfortunate that there was only one pokeball I could find and that was one that Charles had found dropped by a voltorb. Predictably, it did not work and was broken after single attempt to use. A sustainable source of pokeballs has yet to be found here. While there, Samus established a base of sorts, though the low ceiling made standing up difficult. Eventually however, the transportalizer pad dried out enough for use and most of the party went back home. I opted to go mining and found a variety of rocks and minerals. I replaced the flooring and crafted a purple chair. Not long after, I retired for the time being and transportalized back home. I do wonder what other wonders that land has in store. Also, what to call it, as Charles keeps calling it "Greenland", despite the confusing nature of a familiar name of a landmass from earth. I propose calling it the Verdant continent, since that's a cooler way to say green without confusion.
Movie night!
Upcoming movie: Dracula (1992) Date of viewing: February 6th, 2023 Location: AC Memorial Robotics Lab, Desertia Town
Please contact powerKitten if you plan on showing up.
This week’s known market stands in Desertia Town:
Katie’s potion stand (*CaFAI filling in for Katie when unavailable)
Brae’s canned goods stand (currently closed for the time being)
shinyjiggly pokesnacks stand (ran by Rufus)
That does it for this week. There were some other things that happened, though most of them were too private to publish. As for what you had gone through lately, Hyacinth, I'm unsure what to make of it, only that I hope you can find peace with it, if not find a way to undo what had been done. Stay strong out there. Because of technical difficulties with mspfa lately, there has been a momentary pause in left beef updates until resolved. https://letssosl.boards.net/thread/359/charcherry-weekly-issue-131

The show’s actually been in the can for a while - a subreddit dedicated to it has a pilot review from a year ago. If this man isn’t playing the villain in a Fast & Furious movie by 2024and then the hero in the next one a year laterI will be stunned. Oscar®-winning Best Actor Ray Milland, stars in The Big Clock, a smart and stylish film noir thriller about an innocent man wrongfully accused of murder. The first 15 minute episodes of the series from creator Henry Bonsu (bka Henry The Worst) and his co-executive producers, Daniel Weidenfeld of China, IL and Trigger Warning with Killer Mike & Carl Jones of The Boondocks, premiere on April 7. The character we can only imagine is called “Cannun Wulf” is described by the man himself thusly, “I voice a wolf with a cannon on his back! And I get to cuss!” E seems to be playing his sidekick in the Superjail-meets- Adventure Time-looking world of Strongburg. Lazor Wulf stars rapper/actor/activist Vince Staples as the title character, a wolf with a laser on his back.

Kurt x reader
Notes: your mutation is the ability to read people's fears and traumatic memories. You can also produce illusions for everyone to see or put an illusion only in one person's head. These illusions can be based on their fears or memories. Also since it's based off of Wanda and more of the mind stone your power will be yellow and your eyes will glow yellow.
Warnings: intense description of fighting and invading people's minds, using past trauma in fighting maybe one curse word I think, a broken arm, passing out. Please tell me if you find any other trigger or content warnings I should include!
*maybe spoilers for first class
*Not proof read
*Also I love Eric and Mystique but I needed someone for them to fight against and this made the most sense to me.
You were very nervous as you sat next to Kurt on the jet. You, Kurt, Scott, Jean, Peter, Storm, Charles, Hank and Logan were all on your way to prevent Eric and Mystique from wreaking havoc on humans in the name of mutants once again.
Kurt was holding your hand while you stroked your thumb up and down it. He was nervously wiggling his tail around by twisting between your legs and sometimes using the tip to stroke your leg. You would cast him small smiles and give him gentel hand squeezes just to help ground him since he always got nervous when it came to this.
You were getting close to the outside of the city were you would land as to not alert Eric that you were there. Charles spoke up telling people what roles they would be playing in order to stop Eric.
Your job would be to distract Eric's followers and him if nesessary, to allow your teachers to gain control over the situation. You knew you probably wouldn't only use your illusions since they took much concentration and could leave you open to attacks so you figured you would also use your hand to hand combat that all mutants were taught in case it was more useful or nesessary.
Kurt was also going to be distracting Eric's followers but with hand to hand combat so that Logan, Charles, Hank and Storm (even Peter I'd it came down to it) could focus on stopping Eric. When Kurt did hand to hand he more teleported around to confuse his opponent and would lash out at their feet with his tail to knock them down and tire them out. It was different but effective.
You were going to be landing soon and you felt Kurt's hand start to lossen around yours and quickly unthreaded your fingers. You knew Kurt was going to want to pray and you were happy that Kurt always had and always will have something to ground him, besides you of course.
Just as you touched down you heard Kurt murmur and Amen and then he turned to you "Please be carefully meine liebe, check in with me if you can just so I can feel better knowing you are safe" he pleaded as his hand game to rest on your face.
You pressed your hand on top of his and gave him a reassuring smile."I love you too miene liebe and I promise to stay safe and check in as long as you do too' you quickly kissed his cheek and started to unbuckled your seat belt as Kurt did too.
Charles gave you directions to go in so you could surround Eric. You, Scott and Logan were going left around the base Eric set up and Kurt, Jean , Peter and Storm went around right. Hank and Charles were going directly through the middle of the town in an attempt to talk things out with Eric.
You made it around Eric's perimiter and got a visual on Eric and a few of his followers. You watched as Charles attempted to stop Eric, and Hank stood next to him as beast to protect him from Eric, Mystique and their followers. Once Eric began to raise metal and the other mutants started to braise for a fight. Logan gave you the signal and off you all went. You started with the girl closest to you who's mutation was elastic like limbs. Your eyes turned yellow as her motors flossed your mind yellow energy surrounded your fingers as you found a memory of her parents berating her for being a mutant. You almost felt bad for her but her parents actions shouldn't be the reason for everyone's punishment. You twisted your hands in front of you using your magic to invade her mind and cast the illusion. Before you got too involved you backed yourself against a wall to give you some protection since you would be to focused on the details of the illusion. You replayed the memory but you made it more intense. You knew that once she snapped out of it she would be confused and upset but other wise fine so you didn't feel to bad. Your goal was to tire her out so she wouldn't be as big of a threat and now that you had done it emotionally you made her believe she snapped out of it and was fighting you. She swung punches and extend her arms and legs to trip you up. However, you were actually fine, close enough to manipulate bit far enough to be safe. You could feel her growing tired and in the illusion landed a blow to her temple. Her brain thinking it was real knocked her out and you fell out of her brain once it gave in to the exhaustion.
Blinking around you looked to see if anyone was in trouble and saw Scott fighting a winged man who wouldn't stay down your eyes turned yellow and the energy flowed around your fingers as you saw his fear of cages. He had been kept in one and forced to fight and as much as you disliked bringing up trauma you also couldn't leave Scott in a position where he didn't have the upper hand. You sent an illusion that everyone could see of the winged boy being stuck in a cage. Scott looked over and saw you as you held your hands up manipulating them around and it's the yellow energy covered your eyes and swirled around your fingers. You focused your gaze and you brought the cage down making him land on the ground. You saw Scott found some wire from a fence and you saw a three walled pile of debris with more debris on top acting like a roof. You moved him back into there by moving the walls and he kept backing up untill he was secured in there. Scott found some wire, removed his glasses and melded it to some metal structural beams in the debris to make the fourth wall. It was enough space for him but not enough to spread his wings so he wouldn't get out. You stopped the illusion and he looked around confused he saw you and tried to break out of the wire, but that wasn't something his fluffy angel wings were good for. Scott gave you a nod of thanks and the two of you headed into the fighting to find other in need of assistance.
You saw Logan doing fine on his own, Beast and Storm as well. Charles was focusing on distracting Eric and Peter was zipping around sending blows to people to knock them down. You saw a women not far from you with finger lazors, no longer down and about to hit Peter as he stopped to take a quick check of the field and you quickly raced over to her. Before she had the chance to fire you slid onto the ground and kicked her feet out from underneath her. You used your momentum to jump back up as she to came back this time her attention on you. You didn't have time for an illusion so hand to hand it was. She prefered to throw punches and kept close enough to you that neither you nor her could give a strong enough kick. You instead blocked and give the occasional elbow until you eventually saw a sloppy punch, grabbed her arm and put her in a wrist lock effectively snapping her arm, this time she we stayed down. Peter of course came by and high fived you.
You finally saw Kurt and the person he was fighting against seemed to be growing more and more irritated with Kurt and how he couldn't hit him. You didn't like how this man (who's mutation seemed to be super strength) was getting more and more irritated with Kurt. Since he couldn't physically hit him he was getting angrier and taking out by emotionally hurting him. He hit Kurt closed to home by calling him a freak and you were ready to unleash hell. You felt like a highlighter with how brightly yellow you were glowing as you snuck into his mind and fed him visions of pain. Visions of him flying through the air and getting hit by debris plagued his mind as you unleashed your anger on him for daring to insult Kurt. You were so overcome by anger you didn't realise how Eric was getting annoyed with you incapacitating his mutant followers and he hurled metal at you. He want hoping to kill you only injur you enough to knock you out of the fight, Eric wasn't one for killing his mutant brothers and sisters. Kurt was watching you in awe feeling so loved at how protective you were of him when he quickly caught on to the shard of metal aimed to imbed in your legs. He quickly grabbed you and you heard the signature *BAMF* and you fell out of the brutes mind since you were on the other side of the chaos and too far away to slip back in. You looked at Kurt and held him tight whispering a thank you in his ear. He held you tightly to him and mumbled out "liebe you made me a promise to not get hurt, I will be very unhappy if zhat promise iz broken"
"You come before anything, even promises I made to you, but I assure you miene liebe I am perfectly fine" you reassured him pulling back from his chest to smile at him. "And as much as I love being here in your arms we have a job to finish" you kissed him on the cheek and gave him a wild grin he smiled back and *BAMFED* you to the other X-men who had regrouped in front of Eric and his group in the classic sign of unity within the two groups before an awesome battle scene breaks out. Eric lifted himself up along with more shards of metal.
"Time after time, Charles have I bent to your rules and wishes, I am tiered of never having change, of being taken advantage of. They underestimate and underappreciated us Charles and the only way for them to learn is to show them, the only way left is that hard way"
"Eric the more you revert back to anger and desperation for revenge the less they trust us and the harder we must work to show we mean no harm and we can all live together peacefully. We need an ear of peace now then ever, and peaceful wishes from you may be just the thing we need to make our coexistent wishes a reality."
"Your aspirations will never be a reality Charles, they will only ever be wishes, and if I have to show you the hard way as well then so be it." As Eric raised more metal to girl at you all, you developed a potentially dumb plan or potentially great plan.
You worked to invade Eric's head, and despite his helmet preventing telepaths from getting in his head, you weren't a telepath and made it in with as expected quite the amount of resistance. You knew of Eric's past and you knew exactly what memories to use, however, you would have to be careful, after using so much energy especially on that brute you were getting a little to tired for the stunt you were trying to pull. You found the memory of Eric at the camp and losing his mother. You could feel his grief and it only made it harder to consentrate. Your breathing was definetly laboured by know as you pushed that memory to the front of his brain and had him relive it. Watching it horrified you and you could feel tears of exhaustion and pity leak down your face as you trembled with both exhaustion and the pain this memory was bringing, both emotional and physically demanding. You could feel his resistance weakening but his helmet only attempted to push you out more. Your legs you were sure were on the verge of giving out. You could hear Charles telling everyone to stand back, with a protest from a familiar German accent, that crowding you and touching you to keep you from collapsing would only distract you. The memory got to the part were his mother was killed and his powers started to surge. You could definetly feel his power surging now, Eric felt as if he was back there and this time he was determined to save his mom. You knew that you only had to keep the memory going a little while longer and let him build his power up so the sudden surge would use enough energy to knock him out. As the memory progressed and Eric's power grew. You all of a sudden felt his power reach the point to knock him unconscious, and it just so happened to take you too.
Kurt kurt kurt kurt kurt kurt kurt kurt
You woke up to three fingers strumming through your hair and the sound of the jet. You looked up and saw Kurt's face light up at the sight of you awake. "Liebe" he grinned pulling you up gently and resting your head on his shoulder as he pulled you close to him and you wrapped your arms around him.
"What happened?" Was the obvious question on your mind.
"Well" Charles began from behind you " you prevented Eric from showering us with metal debris, you invaded his mind and successfully knocked him out. However, you over exerted yourself and past out along with him. With Eric down Mystique and the others tried to flee, however, but with much assistance through Peter, we managed to keep them from leaving fast enough to esacpe custody. We are almost home, where you can all take a well deserved rest and have the next few days off of classes to recouperate. How does that sound!"
Scott and Peter let out whoops of joy while Jean grinned and you and Kurt gave each other gentel smiles. "Get some rest miene liebe, you deserve it" Kurt said smiling down at you. You snuggled into his shoulder and managed to get a quick nap in.
You managed to wake up just in time for landing. You got many praises for the stunt you had pulled when you came back to the academy. Eventually Kurt got tired of people keeping you away from the rest you so clearly needed, so when people weren't looking he *BAMFED* you two to his room. Too exhausted to get your clothes from your room you slipped on one of Kurt's tshirts and snuggled up next to him.
"I'm so proud of you liebe" he cooed quietly in your ear. "I can't thank you enough for loving me so much and protecting me so vell even vhen you do put your selv in unnecessary danger "Kurt said a goofy smile covering his face and love filled in his eyes.
"Well I can't promise never to be in danger, but I can promise to never stop loving or protecting you." That night you got the best sleep ever as you drifted off to the love of your life planting butterfly kisses all over your face knowing the next few days off would be spent in bed with the love of your life!
Hope y'all enjoyed!

Plug and Play for Modern Storage
Today’s Object of the Day celebrates the winners of Cooper Hewitt’s National Design Awards. Honoring lasting achievement in American design, the Awards take place annually during National Design Week, with festivities for all ages celebrating design creativity and innovation.
This inventive prototype for a storage system is at once playful, inventive and multifunctional. Blu Dot, the company that designed it, specializes in furniture that is elegantly designed as well as easy-to-assemble. The storage unit, entitled Plug and Play is an erector set of filing units, shelves and other components which are plugged into a freestanding pegboard spine and held in position with elastic bands. Although this design did not reach the production stage, it demonstrates Blu Dot’s “good design” ethos which strives for usefulness and happiness available to ordinary people, every day.
This one-of-a-kind storage unit reflects elements derived from popular culture in much the same way as furnishings created by American design icons Ray and Charles Eames. Ray and Charles Eames team built a reputation for their innovative designs for architecture, furniture, and textiles. During the second half of the twentieth century, they began experimenting with new materials and technology, and opened the door to the use of molded plywood and plastics, introducing functional, colorful, and affordable furnishings to the middle class. Blu Dot’s Plug and Play  has a resonance with the ESU 400 Storage Unit, a well-known Eames design, also in Cooper Hewitt’s collection.  Made from laminated wood with a metal rod frame, the ESU allowed for flexibility in the placement of components making the storage unit easily customizable. The Plug and Play storage system from Blu Dot, designed a good half century later than the ESU, further develops the ideas of flexible construction and customization, as well as the playfulness derived from the multicolored components.
Blu Dot founders Maurice Blanks and John Christakos met in college and built a friendship around their shared passion for design. Blanks and Christakos, who are both trained architects, collaborated with their friend, sculptor Charlie Lazor, to start Blu Dot in 1997. Working from their Minneapolis studio, the company has set itself apart with designs that marry modern design with style, accessibility, practicality, affordability, and quality. With subtle tips of the hat to design icons that came before them, Blanks and Christakos continue to define what modern design is to popular culture and a contemporary audience.

on one hand: I feel like it’s super cringey to try and get people to just take off a piece of their clothing like a shirt or something because people wanting to party =/= they’ll be willing to do that
on the OTHER hand: 60% of these people might be amped up enough to do it, and the other 40% are probably on enough drugs that they WILL do it

7 things to watch in NFL’s Week 5: Are the Cowboys already in must-win mode?
The Cowboys are looking to avoid a losing record while the Raiders hope that, unlike last year, they can win a game without Derek Carr.
This week’s matchup with the Packers should feel like a revenge game for the Cowboys. The last time these teams met, Dallas lost a 34-31 heartbreaker in the playoffs. Mason Crosby hit a field goal to put the Packers ahead with three seconds left to play in the NFC Divisional round.
This time around, there’s not a lot of buildup to this game. That may be due in part to the fact that Dallas is 2-2 and coming off a home loss to the Los Angeles Rams. There already has to be concern about whether or not the team can get back to the postseason in a competitive NFC East.
January’s matchup between the Packers and Cowboys was one of the most exciting games of a pretty wild postseason. The Cowboys lost, but they were expected to at least come close to replicating last season’s success. Now it looks like teams are starting to figure out how to slow down Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott.
That puts more pressure on the Cowboys to get a signature win in Week 5. But this game is also a huge opportunity for the Cowboys to start to swing things back in their favor. The Packers are giving up an average of 111 rushing yards per game, which puts them 19th in the league. Elliott has looked like a shadow of his rookie self this year, with under 70 yards per game and just two touchdowns. If he can get going against the Packers, it gives the Cowboys a much better chance to win.
The defense is going to have its hands full with Aaron Rodgers, and the offensive line will have to protect Prescott effectively and open up lanes for Elliott. It may be a close game, but Dallas has a shot to get back on the right side of .500.
And the Cowboys could use the win now. In a few weeks, they start a tough four-game stretch with matchups against Washington, Kansas City, Atlanta, and Philadelphia.
2017’s winless teams all get winnable games in Week 5
Through four games, four winless teams remain. Somehow, the Jets are not one of them.
Instead, a pair of old standbys, the Browns and 49ers, are joined by the Chargers and Giants in the race for 2018’s top draft pick. The Browns and 49ers are smack-dab in the middle of a rebuild, replete with young rosters and uneven quarterback situations. The Chargers and Giants have potential Hall of Famers behind center, but each boasts his own unique problems.
For the Giants, it’s a rushing offense in which Eli Manning is the top scorer and a defense that’s given up nearly 24 points per game. In Los Angeles, it’s the looming spectre of 16 straight road games — de facto or otherwise — and an offense that looks great on paper but unable to execute.
Team owners, executives, and coaches on each side are saying all the right things, but it’s fair to begin wondering if these four 0-4 franchises have begun to plan for 2018. Week 5 will be a big indicator of which teams are still trying and which have slid into tanking mode.
All four have winnable games. The Browns host the Jets, who are awful but somehow staring at a potential 3-2 record through five weeks. The 49ers, who have lost three straight games by three points or fewer for the first time in franchise history, travel to Indianapolis. The Chargers and Giants are playing each other, and while a 13-13 tie is what the NFL universe deserves, someone will probably win that contest.
Sunday’s winners will shake up the early line in the draft order — and might provide a glimpse into which teams are still fighting in December and which might be playing assembly line football.
Will Myles Garrett be enough to inspire hope for the Browns in his debut?
Cleveland’s prize for last year’s 1-15 campaign was the right to draft Garrett, an athletic freak who terrorized opposing passers for three seasons at Texas A&M. Unfortunately, a severe ankle sprain kept him out of the team’s first quarter of the season — the aforementioned 0-4 start.
Without Garrett in the lineup, the Browns have fielded an average pass rush, ranking 16th in the league in sack rate. While the rookie’s gaudy numbers at Texas A&M were padded by big performances against non-Power 5 opponents, the man who lit the NFL Combine aflame with his ridiculous performance should be able to use that raw talent to put opposing tackles on roller skates en route to the pocket.
Garrett started practicing for the first time during the regular season last Wednesday and is set to finally make his debut this week. He looks ready to contribute against a Jets offensive line that ranks 26th in the league in sacks allowed — and then celebrate in style:
#Browns Myles Garrett on if he gets a sack Sunday: "Special. I would love it. It's like a fat guy touchdown''

Can Malik Hooker, NFL’s leader in INTs, make it four picks in his last four games?
Out of all NFL rookies, somehow Malik Hooker was flying under the radar until last week when he got his third interception in as many games. The first-round pick showed during his time at Ohio State that he was more than capable of doing this, and the Colts are one of the teams that needed him most.
Last week against the Seahawks, Matthias Farley pulled a Romo and said that Hooker would get an interception during the game. He got it two plays later:
...@mfarley41 is psychic. http://pic.twitter.com/pwiQajSKJ1
— Indianapolis Colts (@Colts) October 3, 2017
Hooker’s past 16 games, dating back to his final season at Ohio State, have been quite impressive:
Colts S Malik Hooker has started 16 games b/w college and the NFL. In those 16 games, he has 10 interceptions.
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) October 2, 2017
Hooker is currently leading the NFL in interceptions, and there’s no reason he can’t get that fourth pick this week — the Colts face Brian Hoyer and the 49ers. It would be quite an accomplishment for Hooker, who was often compared to Ed Reed prior to the 2017 NFL draft.
The Bengals’ resurgent offense gets its biggest test yet
In the first two weeks of the season, it was almost like a protection spell had been cast to ward off the Bengals from stepping foot in the end zone. Even when it looked like they had scored, nope, that’s not a touchdown:
After two weeks of winless, touchdown-free football, the Bengals fired offensive coordinator Ken Zampese and replaced him with quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor. Since then, the offense has looked revived, especially quarterback Andy Dalton:
Andy Dalton: 0 TD, 4 INT, 47.2 passer rating in first 2 games 6 TD, 0 INT, 138.2 passer rating over last 2 games http://pic.twitter.com/TsEKPWgt28
— NFL Research (@NFLResearch) October 1, 2017
We should find out if the offense has truly rebounded on Sunday, when the 1-3 Bengals host the surprising 3-1 Bills. Through the first month of the season, the Buffalo defense ranks No. 1 in DVOA. No team in the league has given up fewer points, either. In their only loss so far this season — a 9-3 field goal fest against the Panthers — the Bills didn’t surrender any touchdowns. They’ve allowed just four all season.
Both teams are coming off their best games of the year. The Bills held the high-powered Falcons offense to just 17 points in last week’s win. The Bengals got their first W of the season, a 31-7 beatdown of the Browns.
But yes, that was against the Browns, who look like they’re regressing each week. The Bengals have a real challenge this week against the Bills — and a chance to prove that their slow offensive start is behind them.
The Bills can’t keep winning without any help from their wide receivers
After the first month of the season, the Bills are the class of the AFC East. To stay on top of the division, they’ll need a depleted receiving corps to step up.
Buffalo’s wideout depth chart took a hit this offseason as Robert Woods left for the Rams in free agency and oft-injured impact player Sammy Watkins was traded to the same destination. The team brought Jordan Matthews in from Philadelphia to help offset the loss, but the young veteran is out with a thumb injury, a common ailment in Buffalo right now:
Ramon Humber (thumb) & Jordan Matthews (thumb) DNP. Kyle Williams (thumb) full practice. Jerel Worthy (thumb) & Mike Tolbert (thumb) removed
— Mike Rodak (@mikerodak) October 5, 2017
That puts pressure on a position group that’s been mostly invisible in 2017. Matthews, the team’s top wideout, ranks third on the roster in receiving yards behind tailback LeSean McCoy and tight end Charles Clay. With four catches and 57 yards, rookie Zay Jones is the team’s next-most effective receiver. That is dire.
Buffalo’s inability to stretch the field with its wideouts has played a major role in Tyrod Taylor’s slow start; the QB has thrown for only 186 yards per game to begin season. Fortunately for the Bills, his accurate passing and the team’s stout defense has kept them afloat.
Can the Raiders survive without Derek Carr?
Almost no one expected the Raiders offense to look this bad. They are just 2-2 and struggling to score points or generate yards. To make matters worse, quarterback Derek Carr will miss two-to-six weeks due to a back fracture he suffered last week against the Denver Broncos.
When Carr broke his fibula in Week 16 of last season, the Raiders looked horrible without him. Carr didn't play in Week 17 or in the AFC Wild Card game. In those two matchups, the Raiders averaged only 10 points per game and backup quarterbacks Matt McGloin and Connor Cook both struggled.
Now, the Raiders will have to depend on EJ Manuel to make plays in the passing game. Last week when Carr got hurt, Manuel came in and looked steady, throwing for 106 yards and a late interception.
Manuel, who signed with the Raiders this offseason, is only 6-11 as a starter in his career. But Oakland’s offensive coordinator thinks the change of scenery has benefited Manuel:
Raiders OC Todd Downing on difference in EJ Manuel today than when he coached him in Buffalo: "I think he fell back in love with the game."

This Sunday, the Raiders host the Ravens, who have a tough defense but are also struggling on offense right now. At the very least, Manuel is a better quarterback than McGloin and Cook. He has a chance to lead the Raiders to victory, especially if the rest of the team steps up.
More than anything, the Raiders need the offensive line to start doing its job. The rushing attack, led by Marshawn Lynch, ranks just 24th in the league. The offensive line isn’t creating holes for Lynch, and it hasn’t done a good job of protecting the quarterback. A strong effort from them could have a snowball effect that would help keep the team survive Carr’s absence.

Charcherry Weekly - Issue 149
Hello, Mage of Light Nick Card here. We got news to get to now.
Got Water?
Lately there has been talk about aquascaping on two different planets: Korous and Grass 3. Korous once had a great ocean, but it has since disappeared, all except for one section that was painstakingly carried through time by Prince of Time Aeons Edgeworth. That being said, it is unknown where the rest of the water went during and after The Reckoning. Meanwhile, Grass 3 is Page of Mind Samm's pet project, once a uniform ball of grass, now host to an ever increasing amount of carefully cultivated biodiversity. It is assumed that this world has an amount of groundwater, considering that the grass had been green the entire time, despite the sheer lack of surface water. It is currently unknown what would be the best way to add significantly more surface water to Grass 3 in a timespan that would not take years. There has been brief talk of potentially calling upon various legendary pokemon to assist, but it is unknown which combinations would be best to use for either situation.
But does it protect?
Rather recently, there have been reports of increased use of an unrecommended performance enhancement armor being equipped to pokemon, particularly ones being used to challenge the unity gym. This armor is largely unfit for most pokemon body types, and has been known to cause unnecessary injury to the user. It appears to be a product offered by Motor Industries, but your dear newsletter writer has yet to get their hands on the product to perform proper testing on it. Further investigation ongoing.
Korosian Presidential Election Results!
After an entire week of waiting, the new president of planet Korous was announced on thursday. However, there were a number of complications to this announcement. Early that day, Korosian archivist AI "The Curator" was attacked by ransomware, and was immobilized for quite a few hours. Foreseeing potential issues beforehand, Rogue of Heart Charles traveled to the Northern Frigid Archives to protect the curator there, but was instead knocked out by an inconvenient rock.
As the one who had collected and counted the votes, The Curator was the only one who knew who won at that point in time. Fortunately, Medical AI Edwin was able to easily counteract the ransomware with a generous amount of antivirus syrup. After being freed from their ransomware prison, The Curator led Edwin and a digimon called Dorimon through a door, leading to the holo-field set up on stage in Snake's Mouth. The Curator proceeded to announce the names of those who did not win first, for dramatic effect. This more than likely pissed off Page of Void Dylan, the sorest loser of the bunch. After he was revealed as not only having merely 10 percent of the vote, AND being outdone by Gus of Aspara, a bubbling was seen from just off the nearby coast. It turned out that there was a giant mechanical dragon (with lazor beams!) hiding in the sea! It was at this point that Thoren had to pull out a secret weapon. Leading a number of the dungeon crashers with them, including Bounty hunter Samus Kitten, Netnavi Enker (in copybot form), Page of Rage Jovin Castle, Rogue of Heart Charles, and... barely restrained omnicidal maniac Ceda Cedovich(?!). Together, they all crammed into the cockpit of the Eros Machina, and Thoren activated something for the first time: giant robot mode.
The Eros Machina transformed into a giant robot in front of an audience on live television, and proceeded to rush towards the beach to face the dragon. Meanwhile, Ceda's friends managed to summon what appeared to be a giant version of Julius Cesar, and Dorimon managed to spawn a gate to join the battle. Meanwhile, Blood player Johnny, Void player Joan, and the space player in the space suit took their spots atop the dragon to face off against Thoren and their party. Ceda immediately requested to be chucked at the dragon, and was promptly yeeted in that direction, doing great damage with his L-knife. Samus fired shots from the other hand, never giving up in the face of danger, even after being shot at with an arrow. Jovin spent much of the time charging up an attack, while Dorimon managed to digivolve into DORUgreymon, a magnificent red dragon. Charles largely focused on fighting the Jo-buddies (one of the many reported names for the jojo squad) during this time. DORUgreymon managed to inflict great damage to the dragon, in addition to Samus's shots (and Enker being yeeted by request). Soon enough, the dragon was pulled down into the waves by DORUgreymon, preventing an explosion via submersion. The Jo-buddies managed to abscond from the area and the dungeon crashers spent an extended amount of time recovering from the battle. At this point, DORUgreymon somehow became dodomon and formed an attachment to Thoren (with baby teeth to the arm).
After finally arriving on stage (with dodomon removed from their arm), The Curator finally announced Thoren Emit as the winner of the election, and therefore the president of planet Korous! After giving a short speech with freshly minted vice president Spades Slick, Thoren announced that they would be taking a week off to rest from all the strains of campaigning for the past month or two. It is noted that the trip to "Squidlantis" is still required to happen to complete a timeloop. Johnny and the other Jo-buddies, as well as Ceda, all appeared on the memo later that night, confirming that they are all still around. I wish Thoren the best of luck with their new job as korosian president, and I hope they can handle all the struggles that lie ahead for them.

Charcherry Weekly - Issue 83
Heya peeps, Mage of Light Nick Card here. It's been mostly quiet this week... mostly.
Actual Galar Champion now!
Brae Emit has officially become the champion of the Galar region! She bested her foes with a primarily fairy type team comprised of Stella the Clefable, Aqua the Azumaril, Elly the Ribombee, Sprinkle the Sylveon, Polaris the Lemon Cream Alcremie, and Pokey the Galarian Slowbro.
Her sibling Rise Emit also recently got their 4th gym badge from defeating Crasher Wake in the Sinnoh region. I'm sure Rise will make their way up the ladder as their sister has!
IMA FIRIN MAH LAZOR--BWARAGH!!!
Earlier this week, a variety of electronic devices in the greater charcherry area suddenly blasted a song known as "Pokemon March" for a handful of seconds, multiple times. This caused many of the pokemon in the area to face towards the device that broadcasted the signal that cased the phenomenon. It also caused Rogue of Heart Charles to go temporarily deaf, on account of their compushades having a very high absolute max volume. Fortunately potions worked.
Assuming trouble was on the horizon, the dungeon crashers made their way to the scene. They faced off against a powerful bug type pokemon with an exceptionally powerful hyper beam. Charles decided to launch himself and managed to captchalogue a large amount of ill-fitting armor that was strapped to the pokemon. Charles almost got an overclocked hyper beam to the face, but fortunately managed to evade it. Aforementioned overclocked hyper beam was reportedly visible from miles away.
With the efforts of the entire present group and their pokemon, the bug pokemon was weakened and then captured, now being rehabilitated in a disclosed location. The ones who had mistreated this bug pokemon in attempts to make it stronger, are still at large.
Goings on in Unity
There has been talk lately about a variety of topics pertaining to Unity Village. First being a pokemon research program of sorts. The rough idea is that young trainers would be able to gain monetary compensation for researching wild pokemon. The details of the program are still in the works, but it sounds promising. There are also plans for premium upgraded versions of the pokedex to become available, for a price. This will however require that Charles obtains their business license. He has managed to pass the builder's test, so it is optimistically likely that they can get through the paperwork for the business license.
Another topic of note is the question of who will become the mayor of the village. Page of Mind Samm has shown interest in the position, but Galar Champion Brae Emit has also considered a leadership role, though she is considering the possibility of establishing another village. This will need to be discussed between them and others involved on a later (but hopefully soon) date.
This week's known market stands in Desertia Town:
Water fight supply stand(this week)
Sticky note stand(this week)
Katie's potion stand (*CaFAI filling in for Katie when unavailable)
Brae's canned goods stand (Prism filling in for Brae)
shinyjiggly pokesnacks stand
And with that, I think that does it. Its still a bit cold around here lately, but the snow has melted at this point. Been kinda rainy on and off though. At least sunburst is fine with being indoors on those days. https://letssosl.boards.net/thread/307/charcherry-weekly-issue-83

okay normally i don’t really like Jungle Terror tracks or anything with that kind of percussion and overall song structure
but this one having a fucking blaring ALARM sound as its lead is strangely fucking addicting god damn it
EDIT*: I DO appreciate them asking the crowd “hey yo, how many of y’all don’t need to take drugs to have a good time?”
promoting less drug use in the EDM scene is nice, plus it helps validate me a bit because i’ve only ever drank at raves........... and i only did it once................. and it was a single 5% cooler.............. i was tipsy for like half an hour and that was it

or maybe Mad Decent being on the UMF Radio Stage doesn’t mean they ACTUALLY get streamed onto UMF Radio the station
FOR SOME REASON

Will Myles Garrett debut — and be enough to inspire hope for the Browns?
Garrett started practicing for the first time during the regular season last Wednesday and hinted that he would finally make his debut this week. He looks ready to contribute against a Jets offensive line that ranks 26th in the league in sacks allowed.

The Bills signed Philly Brown to bolster their pass-catching corps, but there’s a reason the former Panthers starter has languished on the free agent market this long.
— Michael Gehlken (@GehlkenNFL) October 5, 2017
