Red Rocks encore
Come spring, Lord Huron's western path will lead eventually - and inexorably - to that outdoor-concert mecca formed, miraculously, from giant sandstone outcroppings in Morrison, Colorado.
I've seen LH in many fine venues - from Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, to the raucous Whelan's Pub, in Dublin - and I must agree with the World Enders (the band's fan club): There's nothing like LH at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
This poster shows only one Red Rocks date but that sold out almost instantly and a second show has been added for May 30, which means that Sharon may get another 10,000-voice happy birthday serenade.

10/26/2023
An abrupt weather change to fog and mist - very un-Colorado-like - and a bite in the air, too: Prelude to a wintry weekend.
I can barely hear a very persistent cricket outside, chanting away - we have a freeze warning tonight, followed by snow this weekend, so it’s most likely my last cricket serenade for 2023. This is what happens - is supposed to happen - in late October.

Hello luv! 🌸🌸🌸
If you're in the mood, would you like to tell us:
what's your favourite thing about your new home?
what was the most memorable thing you saw on your looooooooooong road trip across the country? ❤️
Tumblr media
did i just spend 10 minutes making this gif because i can’t be there to serenade you in person? yes. yes i did 😇
ooooo are we talking New Home as in Chicago? our apartment is still pretty bare bones so not much to report on that end just yet but as far as the city goes, i’m loving it! i think my favorite thing is the buildings and the houses!! i’ve always wanted to live somewhere that’s dominated by brick structures and now i’m living my silly little dream 🧱✨
our road trip clocked in at 28 hours (YUCK) over three days and i did 100% of the driving so needless to say we didn’t make many stops because 1) i’m insane and 2) a bitch just wanted to get to the next Comfort Inn as soon as possible. so, lead foot on the pedal, eyes on the road. however, Colorado is fucking beautiful!! the roads are long and winding and frankly quite terrifying but seeing red rocks next to gray mountains next to rolling hills is a fucking TREAT — i’d actually done this exact drive before in the opposite direction but forgot how lovely that part of the country is!! 🏔️🏜️🌲 i’m sorry my answer isn’t more exciting but by the end of day two i was At My Limit and could only sleep and cry ahjskjskdk RIP to the last remaining shreds of my sanity, left those fuckers on the road 🚗💨

Klein and Jamison Release a Melodious Mantra for Harmonious Healing For fans of classical music, well-balanced studies in melody and harmony often provide an oasis of tranquility in a chaotic world. 'Sonatas for Alto Saxophone and Piano', the latest offering from the astute musical pairing of Jim Klein and Ian Jamison, does precisely that. This collection of six meticulously crafted sonatas gives new breath to the age-old genre, blurring lines and expectations and dashing them with glimmers of audacious originality. https://open.spotify.com/album/2mwgj3oLDtIAhhUpMZQR0f Teetering on the brink of classic woodwind resonance and the melodic caress of piano keys, 'Sonatas for Alto Saxophone and Piano' delivers an intriguing tantalizing exploration into the cavernous depths of sonic beauty. This album demonstrates the profound consonance achievable by the fusion of these two instruments. Where many albums set their tempo and follow it relentlessly, 'Sonatas for Alto Saxophone and Piano' unravels its stride with unpredictable elegance. The relationship between the melodic personality of the saxophone and the harmonic design outlined by the piano lends the album its unique aura and artistry. It is not merely a collection of songs, but a sophisticated dialogue conveyed through a language of tonal contemplation and rhythmic expression. The musical synergy between Klein and Jamison, having been honed since their auspicious meeting in 2018, is palpable in every note. They're like long-lost soul mates who'd been speaking distinct dialects discovering a common language. Through their instruments, they take us on an ethereal journey, as though navigating a dreamscape wherein melodic streams serenely coexist with harmonic foliage. [caption id="attachment_51103" align="alignnone" width="1272"] Klein and Jamison Release a Melodious Mantra for Harmonious Healing[/caption] The saxophone dances on the composition with its robust timbre, at times assertive and at others, incredibly tender. It mesmerizes with its debonair vibrato, and boldly demands attention while skillfully coaxing the ear to the accompanying piano. As for the piano, its intricate sheet of harmonies blankets each piece with warmth, charm, and a delicate touch of melancholy. It narrates a confounding wisdom with its lower register and complements the saxophone with a buoyant fluency in its upper octaves. These instrumental meanderings take nuanced turns, each twist filled with an unseen surprise, a playful game cleverly executed by the maestros. Yet amidst the subtle complexity, the music is soothing, easy to listen to, and remarkably comfortable in its skin. It induces a sense of serenity that acts not unlike the solace one might associate with the scenic serenades of their home states - Colorado and Arizona, invoking imagery of endless skies meeting rugged frontiers. Celestial Wizard’s “Winds Of The Cosmos”: A Cosmic Metal Odyssey In terms of genre, 'Sonatas for Alto Saxophone and Piano' indeed falls within the classical realm, but its innovative spirit whispers a beckoning towards contemporary corridors. It cultivates a charming affinity with jazz, while at the same time, respectfully nodding to the more traditional inclinations of its classical heritage. With 'Sonatas for Alto Saxophone and Piano', Jim Klein and Ian Jamison reaffirm their status as stalwarts of artistic innovation, opening fresh avenues for the future of classical music. This album is an assurance that age-old tradition and avant-garde expression can coexist, amalgamating into a sonic tapestry that is as enlivening as it is nostalgic. Sleep on it at the risk of missing a masterclass in musical craftsmanship. This six-song album is a melodious mantra for harmonious healing, a ‘must-hear’ for purveyors of finely-tuned harmony and melody. Follow them on Website, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.

'In Our Ways' by Cabela and Schmitt is a memory from the past and a glimpse of the present
Artist : Cabela and Schmitt New Release: In Our Ways
Music Genre:  Soft Rock Vibe:  Nostalgic Located in: Nebraska and Colorado Sounds like: Tom Petty, The Beatles, R.E.M. Released September 23, 2022
In Our Ways is a memory from the past and a glimpse of the present. Young and freewheeling, jamming for parties, weddings and any venue we would be invited to.
We were heading to a bar gig where all we played that night was our original songs. When we sang it was always at least two-part harmony through and through. We love harmonizing! It's a favorite instrument of ours.
Then a reflection settles in and we are 30 some years later remembering those times and how we are still playing in our ways. We enjoy serenading you with our hearts and souls and always giving you a little piece of who we are.
LIKE A STONE- Album
A stone is permanent, stable, and unmoving much like principles, truth, friends, and love. Yet a stone one holds in their hand can be harmless and entertaining as a skipping stone across a pond, or it can also be used for harmful intentions.
We believe the world is good…this seems to be a view shared by fewer and fewer people all the time. With technology, we hold the world in our hands. Our devices can be tools for communication, entertainment, and loving messages, but also destruction.
We are bombarded with information, constantly…this is sometimes advantageous and sometimes detrimental. We have slipped as a world society into letting the opinion-based media, in general, influence how we think, act, and make our decisions.
Yes, we all need the news to keep up with current events, but we must hold on to our God-given freedom to use our minds to form our own opinions.
The Bible makes it very clear what our beliefs need to be based on. We cannot continue to foster animosity toward people who are not like us or don’t believe like us.
This war must end peacefully…there will be no winner, only losers if we continue on our current course. We have chosen to put certain people and ideals above God in our lives and thus we have created a world that appears to be broken, but in reality, it is we who are broken.
What is said cannot be unsaid, what is seen cannot be unseen. But there is hope knowing love can conquer all.
Special thanks to the engineers who helped us on the album…
Nicolas Essig, Robert Venable, Chris Brown, Greg Thompson and Sean Spence.
