So,, how about this for a request/a moment of inspiration for you:
This here prompt [ https://www.tumblr.com/writing-prompt-s/744684541424353280/you-die-in-a-freak-accident-and-watch-your-funeral?source=share ] but Curt and Owen (either way)
- @starpirateee
Thank you so much for the prompt!! I'm sorry again that it took so long!
-- -- --
When Curt's first mission back from leave goes just slightly awry, Cynthia leaves him with no choice but to fake his own death and stake out the funeral to deal with the consequences. With one dead man walking in attendance, it's not surprising that there might be a second lingering at the back of the crowd.
An AU inspired by a prompt from @starpirateee

babe wake up!! owen got their shit together and finally finished the curtwen fic they’ve been avoiding for the past year!!!
(jk there’s still 2 chapters left lol BUT ITS PROGRESS!)
here’s the link!! (and i mean. it’s right There ⬇️ too ig)
i will say that it’s purely self indulgent and was originally written Just for me,, so it’s basically if they didn’t have guns and Did have time during the staircase scene. meaning there’s a lot of dialogue abt a lot of things. but i tried to make it enjoyable :)
also i hate the title so Fucking much omg.. like yeah i’m working on it but i hate this title so much ugh

ok but what if curt had kissed owen after one step ahead
at first owen is shocked and he pushes curt away but hangs on to his lapel- and mid push, changes his mind. curt still has his gun and
owen doesnt close his eyes as he drags curt back in for another kiss. then his hands are on curt's throat and he can't breathe. curt looks into owens eyes.
their lips still haven't parted and everything in curt just wants to give up and hold owen. he presses the hand without the gun around owens waist and into the small of his back, almost on instinct. but his eyes are watering now and his vision is darkening the longer he goes without oxygen. owen will not let up. he really means to kill him.
curt's heart sinks as he knows what he has to do. it's him or owen. its owen or the world's privacy. it's owen or shady chimera world domination.
tears fall from his eyes as he raises the gun to owen's temple. he squeezes his eyes shut as he pulls the trigger. he tastes blood. the other man collapses into his hold.
owen carvour, the love of his life, is dead.
curt has saved the world again.

Inspired by @considerablecolors silly little ofmd/saf crossover-ish fic (“Running In The Shadows (Damn Your Love, Damn Your Lies)”).
Also shoutout to them for making me absolutely sob with another one of their fics (it’s called “All The Living Are Dead, And The Dead Are All Living (The War Is Over, And We Are Beginning)” and I cannot recommend is enough).
I love all their saf stuff on Ao3- Seriously go check them out.

Sketchy spies in '61
This is definitely how it ended right?
[ID: A black and white sketch of Owen Carvour and Agent Curt Mega from Spies Are Forever. Curt is shown from behind, wearing the leather jacket with shoulder pads from the staircase scene and hugging Owen, who is looking at him with a confused and frightened expression. Curt's hand is in Owen's hair. There is text beside Owen which reads '...what are you doing?' and text beside Curt reading 'Not taking your stupid advice.' End ID]

"This song is so Owen coded this" or "That song is so Owen coded that" NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT HOW OWEN CODED "How I'd Kill" BY COWBOY MALFOY IS OMG.
This song is so Owen post banana incident coded. The opening being darker and slower relating to him rising from the rubble after being abandoned by his lover, the blaming Curt for all of it and feeling like he was a fool for trusting him.
The build up to the time change is him getting recruited by Chimera and seeing a new dawn for himself.
The more upbeat part of the song is him thriving through Chimera working his way up in the organization. Him creating the character of DMA and killing all those people, thinking of Curt as something from his past that he needs to destroy
The ending being more mellow signifying him missing/seeing Curt again and falling back into old mentalities. AUGH ITS JUST SO HIM.

please continue the chimera!curtwen au! I would love to see the full story, and the consequences of curt joining chimera (and how owen reacts). it's such an interesting premise!
Y'all are asking for it! You've got that vaguely corrupted Curt comin right at ya! In fairness, I'm... also asking for it. This has taken over my entire brain and I will be thinking about this au for a hot goddamn while now....
(part 1)
Tumblr media
"This is…" Once upon a time, the Secret Service operative known as Curt Mega used to be a legend. Known among governments, feared among their enemies. His was a name to be known, to be respected.
All of that came to an end at the beginning of 1959. In the dead of winter, Mega had been sent to investigate one of the most covert operations in the world, and had never returned. Some say he was killed in a gunfight. The reports say he was declared missing in action, and then presumed dead a month later. No matter the case, Curt Mega- a man with a future. A man of only 34 years old- was dead to everyone that mattered.
Everyone, that was, except Owen Carvour.
Because, the truth of the matter was that Curt hadn't died in a gunfight, or through some tragic accident… In fact, he wasn't dead at all. He had, however, joined the ranks of the dead, so to speak. Most of the operatives of Chimera were men just like him. People who had been declared dead, or who's country would be more than happy to kill them if they ever showed face again.
Suddenly, it made a lot more sense why they were informally known as ghost corps…
Owen had been getting Curt acquainted with the system that they had been developing under the noses of the world's governments. To say the least, he wasn't expecting a lot. Curt and technological developments were not two things that tended to mix, so he had rather low expectations.
"This is incredible."
That wasn't one of the things he'd prepared himself to hear, and he had to briefly check to make sure he was even still talking to Curt.
"Incredible, you say?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
Curt nodded. "It works, doesn't it? You've got it deployed already?"
"We do. Mind you, what we currently have deployed is a prototype, really… A first draft. But the system for data collection will be much the same."
That's what they were looking at now. Massive banks of data, the likes of which Curt had never seen before, let alone tried to think about. He hadn't imagined that an archival system made for nothing more than drives the size of his forearm would be so large, but Owen had told him of a compound in the Pacific that they'd been developing, and he realised only that this was something that the world's governments would never catch up to.
"I'm guessing the Pacific compound isn't the only one, huh?"
"No, not at all. There are backups for that data, and larger compounds in development, even as we speak. Quite enticing, right?"
"God, yeah." And Owen wasn't the only one surprised to hear him say that. He didn't think he'd ever find himself so interested in a world which he could never understand. A vast attention span was not something he was ever given, especially not the capacity needed to understand what was going on in the science and tech industries.
Granted, he still didn't understand it, but he had Owen's support again, somehow, so he was willing to believe that would change.
Owen closed the file they'd been delving through with one hand. "That's what we're trying to uphold now. And that's why I asked you here. Curt, how are you for acting?"
"Acting?"
"Yes. Acting. Pretending to be someone you're not."
"… I know what acting is."
"Are you any good?"
Curt had to genuinely think about that. He probably wouldn't find out why he'd been asked that until he gave an answer, so he tried to figure out some sort of a response. Had he acted before? What were they counting as experience, and did his former job give him any credit on the matter? "Well- uh- I'm no James Dean, but I'm not bad, I guess?"
"I suppose what I should be asking is: can you make it believable?"
"I suppose? I'm not really sure what you're asking me here."
Curt did make it so impossible to keep one's patience in check sometimes, and Owen supposed he knew that better than anyone. He sighed. "We are going to need you within the network, so I need to know that you're capable of swapping between roles and making flawless transitions. You're going to need it."
"That what they have you doing?"
"In part. But you know me, Curt. That's easy as far as I'm concerned. This isn't about my particular skills here, but about yours." He leaned forwards a little, quietly tapping a finger against the file.
"I probably haven't had the experience you have, but I did a bbit of something like that in the agency..? Y'know, case files, secret identities…"
"And your track record is nearly impeccable… I'd say you were fairly good at it."
"Thanks?"
Owen just smiled back at him. All too brief. All too professional. Not so much the warm, genuine smile that Curt's mind had attributed to Owen, but a show of something more than neutrality all the same.
"There's an event in a little over two weeks time. For all intents and purposes, this is your chance to prove yourself, and to prove that I didn't waste my time convincing them that you were worth it."
He'd said that so casually, as if he was admitting to having seen a movie, not something of that weight. It had managed to completely take Curt by surprise. He blinked. "Wait, run that by me again… You did this?"
"Well, I can't take all of the credit, but-"
"You convinced them to give me a chance? You?!"
"Why's that so hard to believe?"
"If you were alive at all, I'd have thought it'd only make sense if you… I dunno, completely hated me?"
"It wasn't personal."
Curt smirked. "You're a fuckin' awful liar, you know that?" There was something in the way his gaze averted for the smallest of seconds that was a blatant tell in curt's eyes. It was so brief that it was barely obvious, but he'd learned to spot it from a mile away. "What really happened?"
"I know you're someone they wouldn't want to miss out on, that's all."
"Owen..."
"... Because you're the best I've ever worked with and I knew I'd get another chance if they persuaded you..."

Spies are forever Malevolent au (made with @z3n1g4t4)
Curt Mega is a free-lance private eye investigator in the early 50s. He works with his partner, Owen Carvour, and both of them are one of the best of Arkham.
One day, Curt wakes up with no vision and no memory of what has happened. He soon discovers that there's something, or someone, in his head. The entity doesn't recall their own name, but they seem to be in control of Curt's eyes.
Although wary at first, Curt accepts to work with the entity. They quickly find each other working great together: the entity is throughout in their descriptions, and Curt is good thinking on his feet. They quickly get out of the building they were in (one from Curt's cases) and try to recap what has happened.
Curt remembers working on a case about occultism and superstition, but he didn't take it very seriously. His partner and him had to find some missing girl, and that had taken them to a house. The last thing Curt remembers was finding some books with strange symbols on them and letters he couldn't read. The entity, or the man, as he insisted he was, had some vague memories about himself, but couldn't remember much about his identity.
Given that they couldn't go their separate ways, the couple decide to work together to discover what's going on. Their goals are to separate their bodies (and get rid of Curt's eyes curse) as well as finding Owen. The entity finds him fascinating, as it is one of the few moments were Curt lets his guard down and is in touch with himself. He tells him about the cases they worked together, their achievements as partners. As more time passes, the entity notices how there are some gaps in his stories about Owen, as if there were things he didn't want to say. Curt also seems to be more on edge when the topic comes up.
The entity and Curt have some fights during the investigation. The entity is frustrated with Curt, as he often ignores him to follow his impulses (that usually get them in more trouble). On his hand, Curt resents the entity, as he blames him on his partner's dissapearence. Their egos clash, sometimes ending delaying the case by a lot or even putting their lives in danger just to fuck with the other one over. The dance seems familiar to the entity, but he doesn't know why.
After some setbacks and different leads, Curt and the entity arrive to an occult society that seems to worship the same creature that the books belong to. There, they finally give it a name: Chimera. This Old One is created by pieces of many creatures, taking their abilities and making new amalgamates with them (the greek mythology beast is loosely based on it). It thanks Curt for taking Owen to him. Curt doesn't understand.
Chimera reveals that in their last investigation together, Owen and Curt got in trouble. Although they thought they were alone at the house, they were not, and Owen got shot .As a last resource, Owen reached for the book and summoned Chimera, trying to stay alive. The god then offers him a choice: he would keep living, in a way, but he'd have to give up the memories of Curt and their work together. Clinging to his life, Owen accepts.
Curt can't believe what he hears, he can't accept that the man he loves gave him up to become some sort of monster. He faces Chimera and asks them if that's why he can't remember anything about Owen. It laughs at him. Chimera tells him that it wasn't them that made him forget, but Curt. It makes Curt remember nevertheless, and he relives their last moments together. He remembers how he had carelessly made noise all around the house, and he had left a banana peel laying around in the entry. That banana peel hadn't allowed Owen to flee.
Curt's head is filled with images, and memories, and he's hurting, but he can't still remember about his time with Owen, who he was. It doesn't make sense to him. Chimera tells him that it wasn't their fault, he just simply didn't know Owen. He thought he did, with all their cases, but he never asked him about his life. About who he really was. He didn't have to worry much about it, now Owen didn't remember either.
Chimera thus wants to take Owen back to make him one of his subjects, but Owen declines. His new form has made him think about who he is or what his purpose is, and he's not ready to give it up. And although conflicted, Curt doesn't want Owen to join Chimera. So they run away from Chimera.
Their next big step is to face each other.

i’ve become a little obsessed with your curtwen stuff do you have any more to share 🙏🙏🙏
Aww thank you, that’s so sweet! I honestly need to rewatch saf, it’s been too long since I’ve seen it! All this talk about them has made me really miss them I just wish they could’ve had a happy ending, but I guess that’s what fics are for
I can’t remember what all I’ve said, so I might repeat myself or contradict a previous headcanon, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles 🤷‍♀️
But I love the idea of Curt & Owen flirting via mock interrogations & they progressively get less realistic & more playful (& homoerotic) as time goes on & what we see at the beginning of the show definitely isn’t the first time tickling has found its way into this little game of theirs
They do the will they won’t they thing for probably way too long, but they wanted to be 100% positive they were picking up the vibes they thought they were
Ok but their first kiss was completely accidental. They were running away from someone together & they had to hide in a cramped space like a tight alley or a closet & they’re fumbling & shoving at each other & they turn their heads at the same time & next thing you know they’re fuckin’ smooching! They’re both so shy about it & can barely meet each other’s eyes & Owen just mumbles “not a bad kisser Mega” & Curt’s like “neither are you” & then they’re staring at each other blushing & all of a sudden they’re making out
Pretty sure they both found out each other was ticklish while on a job together since that’s when they spend the most time together. I think most people think Owen found out Curt was ticklish first, but just imagine with me, if you will:
Curt arrives to a job that Owen got to first, but shit hit the fan & he got caught & is being interrogated. It’s pretty early on, so he’s not too roughed up yet, & he can see Curt in the rafters & he’s both relieved & annoyed because he knows he’s gonna rub it in his face that he had to save him. Curt ends up sniping the baddies & hops down like his knight in shining armor & he goes to untie him, but Owen’s hands are tied behind the chair & his chest is tied to the back of the chair, the rope under his arms & around his ribs. So while he’s untying him, he’s squirming around & breathing a little weird & Curt’s like “quit moving so much or I’ll leave you here” & Owen snaps back “quit tickling then!” & he freezes up & Curt has the most gleeful, sinister look he’s ever seen
“What was that?” “Nothing” “no no, you said you’re ticklish?” “Really Curt, that’s what you’re taking away from all this? We need to leave!” “Why? I already killed everyone here, it’s just you & me” “Curt…” “why not have some fun?” “Mega I swear to God-“ & then Owen didn’t get another coherent sentence out for about half an hour
After that, Curt was a fucking menace & never let him live it down. He’d sneak up on him & launch a surprise tickle attack, he’ll constantly bring up how he “can’t believe” how ticklish he is, he’ll even mock his laugh & say how even his laugh sounds posh. Really, Owen had the patience of a saint & Curt really took it for granted
He bides his time, giving him a chance to back tf off with all the teasing, but one night when they’re sharing a hotel room (with only 1 bed mind you) Curt keeps tickling him & it’s really not funny because he just wants to sleep damnit! Cut it out, I mean it! & Curt goes to squeeze his hip again & all of a sudden he’s laying flat on his back with an angry, very smug Owen hovering over him & his life flashes before his eyes. He gives a nervous lil grin & tilts his head like “y-you got me, I’ll leave you alone now” & Owen’s like “oh no no no, you’ve been tormenting me for months, you’re not weaseling out of this that easy” & Curt really should learn to shut up because he doesn’t even think twice before saying “well what took you so long to snap?”
& now it’s Owen’s turn to give him an evil smile & cups his ear like “I’m sorry, what did you just say?” & Curt’s really struggling now, but Owen has him pinned pretty good & he’s sputtering out apology after apology saying how he’ll never tease him again lies & he’ll drop the whole thing. But Owen is smirking so much as he leans down & asks “Curt… now be honest… have you been doing all this hoping I’d get my revenge?” & Curt’s heart has never beat so fast in his entire life & he answers so quick he literally cuts him off by yelling “NO!” & then much cooler “no, why would I want that?” & Owen just hums “oh I don’t know, maybe because it would mean my hands would be all over you” & he waits for Curt to try to argue before striking. He miiiight have gone a bit overboard, but he had a lot of revenge to catch up on. & it’s not like he didn’t give Curt an out, he just refused to “break” to something as “stupid” as tickling, so it was really his fault. He swears his throat didn’t hurt after that brutal attack, but when they wake up the next morning his voice is shot & he can barely speak above a whisper. Of course now it’s Owen’s turn to never let him live it down. “I can’t believe you were giving me so much shit when you’re 10 times as bad as I am!”
I didn’t know this was just gonna turn into one one headcanon but I speak the truth, the whole truth, & nothing but the truth no matter how long it is so help me God

I have a modern day Clivesdale AU where Curt’s tracking down the deadliest man alive and meets Owen, who works at a little coffee shop, who keeps trying to get Curt to leave so he doesn’t get killed. Every agent who’s ever tried to track down the DMA gets killed, why should Curt be any different?
Or
Curt wakes up in bed with Owen, at Chimera HQ, and realises he doesn’t remember the last few years. The last thing he remembers is Owen revealing himself as the DMA
