Food aggression go brrrr, you get lowkey territorial over your food. Not like anyone would steal it but you have the habit of eating your food quickly, snatching up anything that you can and keeping it for yourself. Idk maybe like not taking breaths between eating, eating quickly to the point you have to pause to breathe (not sure if this is a poor thing or a disordered eating thing skfjskfjddkdrjd)

also like- there's a lot of people in your abode. From servants to acolytes and such. And idk if anybody relates but when you have siblings, if you don't take the food you want you're not gonna eat. Especially when money's tight. If you don't eat the food before someone else does, you're not gonna get it until the next time the parents go shopping. And who knows when that'll be.

Your mindset is so different from the one they assumed you'd have and it gives anyone near you immediate whiplash when you're checking the cabinets to see how much food you have. I couldn’t get to this chapter until now and I can tell you - I know what withdrawal feels like. Eeeek! My name is Dangermousie and I am a Meatbunholic.

1. Chen Man’s actions are more of a hurt/disappointment to XQC than He Yu’s because he trusted Chen Man and viewed him as a nice person and so. Can XQC have a break please? As I was telling @vierran45, he needs to discover something to heal him and undergo the course of treatment for it on an island inhabited solely by geriatric lesbians because clearly his beauty is too calamitous for anywhere else being peaceful. He’s like one of those vixens in harem dramas, having a ton of rich young men going nuts for his favor.

2. But also how interesting that at least my MTL refers to Chen Man’s gross actions as CM reverting to his original heart - clearly his true heart is not sunny good one and his thoughts are grosser than his actions - like some sort of virgin/whore complex on steroids where now he knows XQC can be with men and younger ones at that, somehow he becomes like a peace of meat to be pawed. THE FUCK! Even if XQC enjoyed banging a different young man every week, that still does not mean Chen Man is entitled to him - instead XQC is entitled to pick his own partners. He would be within his rights to bang every man in the world except Chen Man and Chen Man has no rights to assault him over it. The whole “rich young master of course thinks everything belongs to him” attitude is def coming out.

3. The reference to XQC being shoved into an ice cave by this is such an interesting one to me because there are so many references to how HY is melting him. CM’s actions are just making him freeze harder because it’s not that XQC has a kink that activates when some young dude tries to molest him - he loves He Yu because he’s He Yu (and HY always treated him as a person btw, even when it was a person to torment) and Chen Man would get the same results if he tries to force himself as when he was gentle - XQC does not like him this way and cannot like him this way.

4. WHAT THE FUCK, YOU DISLOCATED HIS WRIST? I HOPE YOU FUCKING DIE PAINFULLY AND SLOWLY I HATE YOU!!! He’s already physically on the brink and now...even at his worst and maddest, HY never did something like this and you are supposedly sane and nice the FUCK. And then he’s all I can give you power and cash! Great, he can use that cash to fix his fucking wrist! Also, what the FUCK how does Chen Man think that just because XQC is not straight his whole character is different and he’d be all about money and connections? He’s not a 19th century courtesan the HELL!!!! Just because his sexual orientation is different than what Chen Man thought, does not mean his entire character is different - clearly for Chen Man, XQC was just a cut out to project his fantasies on. God, I hate him, I hate him, I HATE HIM!

5. He Yu kicking the door in ahahaha OK this is like a telenovela now. I love it. Also, He Yu really lost it and was about to murder Chen Man. Good. But I love that XQC can stop him with just one word.

6. Ahahaha XQC’s “wtf is wrong with me where two young men I tried to take care of are obsessed with me” moment reminds me of CWN is 2ha. Heh.

7. Chen Man finally snaps out of it. Congrats, now go jump off a cliff. In the great “shall we burn Chen Man at the stake” versus “he is only momentarily erring, we love him, look at all the other characters who did terrible things who we still love” debate, I am on the former side but also I want to say one thing (but me being me, that one thing is lengthy.) All three of Meatbun’s novels that I’ve read deal, in their very different ways, with the theme of redemption. And the sequence is clear - you cannot be redeemed without repentance. And you cannot repent unless you acknowledge what you did wrong.

Redemption can happen at any point - it is never too late as long as you are alive, and it is separate from forgiveness (one can be forgiven without proper redemption and repentance, one can be fully redeemed without being forgiven by their victims - I love that Meatbun realizes that) but it can never happen unless the first step of acknowledgment by the perpetrator of wrongs is taken. And by that I mean - the ability to admit “I was wrong” - admit to others perhaps but even more crucially to yourself - and to end that sentence with a period instead of going “I was wrong BUT” because the moment you start justifying yourself, you are not really admitting whole-heartedly to wrong doing, you are trying to excuse it and the result by implication becomes this is not a wrong doing at all and so you don’t even get past the first step in the redemption sequence.  

He Yu was at that stage early on where he knew what he was doing was bad but that “BUT” lurked all-consuming: “but he lied to me, but I am lonely, but but but” - he only placed his foot on the first step of long road to redemption when he stopped justifying the horrible things he did even in his head. And Chen Man is not there. He may or may not ever get there (as I said, in Meatbun redemption is possible at any point) but currently he is stuck in “I did wrong by trying to assault XQC, BUT...HY did it first, I saw him first, I love him (ha!) etc etc.” And it’s that which makes him currently incapable of redemption. Yes, he views XQC as a fancy expensive toy he is entitled to and that sense of possession (he offers him money like he’s a whore! Though he’s supposedly known him for a decade - he clearly doesn’t know him at all - even at his maddest, HY knew better than that) is disgusting but even worse things and attitudes can be redeemed. What cannot be redeemed however is a person who does not think he needs to be. And therefore here we are with Chen Man.

8. HY fixing XQC’s hand and holding him and asking him to let HY protect him. My heart!

9. XQC’s heart hurting when he lies to HY that if HY keeps him it will just be an empty shell. Paaaaaain!

What keeps coming to mind for me while reading all your analyses (which I love so much btw your commentary is actually so interesting to me) is that one episode of going seventeen where we saw the units practising and we saw jeonghan falter on a line and boo sort of coach him through it. I remember being surprised cause I was still new to svt when I saw it and was expecting jihoon to be the one leading

Wasn’t woozi originally going to be in performance team and hoshi in vocal? At times I feel like we can see that cause while jihoon has a pretty good understanding of music I feel like it doesn’t work as well as it should with the vocal range of svt as a whole (or maybe that’s just what they’re going for? Idk what they are going for if that’s the case tho)

I’m assuming you’re the same anon but if not let me know!i know the exact moment you’re talking about! and i think theyve mentioned it quite a bit but when it comes to the actual team dynamics, woozi’s mentioned that boo is more of a leader than he is within vocal team so i think it slightly has to do with that but also, its just a moment that the camera captured! woozi does also lead vocal direction quite a bit when theyre recording so its hard to really say that /that/ moment was a lack of woozi leading? perhaps jeonghan specifically asked boo for the help, maybe boo was just in close proximity, maybe woozi was busy doing his own thing ahaha, you never know! also id also hesitate to call that a moment of boo /leading/ or /coaching him through that/ as much as it was boo trying to build up confidence for jeonghan! and honestly when it comes to predebut stuff im really bad at the specifics but woozi did have a huge emphasis on dance. i didnt know about hoshi being on vocal team though? cheol i think was one of the ppl supposed to be on vocal but he turned into a baritone so :) ahahaha its a shame bc i think he has a decent grasp on singing despite not really focusing on it at all, and i think he supports and may be the third or tied for second or even second haahaha in svt in terms of vocal technique (and his placement is sO nice i feel like if he took singing more seriously we’d be able to hear resonance from him rather quickly but anywhos i digress). but yes! woozis speciality doesn’t lie in vocal technique at all, and its really evident even within the songs he composes. i guess, i should be careful in saying that because ahaha who knows if hes the one deciding the final key of the song at the end composition is long process but still!! so many of svts songs are so! high! even for tenors! poor baritone cheol during dwc was like ‘this song is so high’ like 5000000 times and even the tenors agreed. it almost seems to be a recurring theme with svt comebacks ahaha at least one person mentions how high the song is. boo mentioned it during ‘oh my’ which has this especially high part in the chorus ahah where he has to hit a freaking db5 in his chest im sorry woozi what. THANKS WAS LITERALLY SO FREAKING HIGH FOR THE ENTIRE SONG LIKE CONSISTENTLY JUST! HIGH! but yeah, he might be able to create pretty melodies, but he definitely is not taking into account the vocal fach of svt members at all. i feel like their songs just keep getting higher too alksjf. pinwheel though! nice and comfortable place for tenors for sure but that just feels like a coincidence ahaha like svts songs are created with musicality in mind and not application to the voice really tbqh. and also…woozis the one who does their demos so hes definitely going to be biased towards whatever he can ‘easily’ sing which may not be the case for all svt members ahaa (ie rip baritones). so yeah i think when it comes to composing, woozi def focuses 100% on the actual musical instrumental part of the composition rather than how his composition could work best with voices and of all the ppl in svt that i wished had at least decent knowledge of vocal technique, i was hoping itd be him because of his large role in the stuff that svt sings but apparently nope :( one thing that confuses me though is that bumzu, a v close collaborator of woozi, does seem to realize the importance of vocal technique…i think he more or less singled boo out during predebut and taught him stuff like that there was a quote from svt project like bumzu saying that he worked together with boo to find out ways to keep his tone while not injuring his throat and like??? that should be the case for EVERYONE?  like why? only ? boo? theres a reason hes at the level he is now and his focus on trying to keep his throat healthy is one of them for sure! and does bumzu like not give woozi some pointers if something might be too high for tenors if he says that he learned about vocal technique? too many questions ahaha. it honestly does seem like musicality takes preference over vocal ability in svt songs though so thats what theyre trying to do imo, just make something sound ‘pretty’

this is from Take a Chance on Me (shocker) and i was having trouble thinking of my fave but then i was skimming through all of my fics and ngl i had forgotten about this bit but y’all i’ve been trying to work a Dramatic Airport Reunion into a fic FOR FUCKING EVER and i finally did it and i actually don’t hate it? (spoiler for the ending of Take a Chance on Me)

“See…” Louis starts. “See, there’s this guy. And, oh god, he’s an absolute twat. Wanna know what he did to me?” Harry nods faintly, and Louis, emboldened now, goes on. “So, I already knew who he was, right? I knew him, because he’d been in this god-awful boy band for years, and even if me bloody sisters hadn’t been so bloody in love with him, I’d still have known him, because he was just that famous.”

“I wasn’t that famous.”

“Don’t interrupt,” Louis chastises, and Harry mimics zipping his lips. “So this guy, I knew him, but he didn’t know me, but, fucking hell, I think someone forgot to tell him that, because there I was, minding my own business, when this kid just…” Louis giggles then, because the memory is just so ridiculous, “he just starts fucking singing to me, can you believe it?”

Harry shakes his head. “What a weirdo.”

“Right? The weirdest.”

“What happened next?”

“I fell in love with him.”

“What? That soon?”

“Of course not, Jesus, Harold. I’m not that pathetic. I waited the appropriate amount of time to fall in love, thank you very much.”

“Is that why you’re here, then?” Harry whispers. “Is it because you love him?”

“That’s part of it, yeah. I love him, and I love the way we just fit, and I adore his daughter, and our pets are friends now, and I think our sisters are best friends now, so they didn’t actually give me a choice, but do you want to know the biggest, most important reason?”

Harry nods quickly, so hard his chin bumps his chest, and Louis’ so fucking in love with him at that moment that these are the easiest words he’s ever said.

“I’m here,” he tells Harry, “because I was lying in my own bed, in my own house, surrounded by all my things, and all I wanted to do was go home.”

He’s yanked forward then, Harry’s fingers digging into his shoulders, and he barely feels the pain because it’s Harry, and everything’s good when it’s Harry. He’s babbling into Louis’ neck, and the only words he can make out are his name and “love you” and he shivers with the feeling.

Harry’s hair has grown out enough since the night Louis snuck in to see him that he can tangle his fingers in the strands. So he does, pulling Harry’s face away from his neck and pressing their lips together. Every kiss feels like an apology. Every kiss feels like home.

12. share or describe a favorite review you recieved: so this miiiiight be cheating but i received two comments on a fic i wrote in 2015 and it was kind of a surprise that something that old still held up and people still enjoy it? def made me feel better about my current writing and also anyone who quotes my fics back to me has earned my undying love and affection

13. a time when writing was really, really hard: i have adhd so p much always ahahaha

14. a scene or character you wrote that most surprised you: the entirety of “we’re swimming with the sharks until we drown” ngl because i struggled with the like… morally gray criminal-y elements? and portraying the two of them in such a different way while still staying in character which i like to think i nailed? hopefully lol

15. how did you grow as a writer this year? i don’t feel like a i have? but i’m also bias and hypercritical so maybe i did and just didn’t realize ahaha

16. how do you hope to grow next (this?) year: i want to enjoy writing again and i want to finish more fics and not let them rot in my docs because of self-doubt

who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer: okay so first @amandaisnotwriting is the real MVP as she bears the brunt of my whining/complaining/drama queen moments as well as the fact that she listens (some would argue is forced to :p) and reads over fic for a pairing she doesn’t ship for a fandom she doesn’t care about 😂😂😂

@rainbowbaz always makes time to look over my fics even when she’s crazy busy and is honestly amazing and saves my fics from americanisms ahahaha

and FINALLY we met p late in the year but but @livingatthelairport ‘s comment on “the tesco fic” helped me out of a writing slump and now she’s become my cheerleader (and friend 💜) and that’s make a huge difference in my attitude towards writing! it’s also easier to write a fic for a specific person than worry about the opinion of a crowd which is def something i’ve been missing in this fandom rip

also to everyone else who has read my fics, listened to me rant about them or just helped the process along in any way at all this is a GIANT thank you!!

18. anything from your real life show up in your writing this year? i mean i can’t think of anything off the top of my head but a lot of my inspo comes from the world around me so probably lol

19. any wisdom you can share with other writers: there’s nothing wrong with feeling jealous of other writers because i’m not a fan of hiding feelings just because they’re ugly as long as you don’t let it fester and turn into resentment or make you bitter. there are a lot of factors that go into a fic becoming “big” in a fandom but honestly most of it is just random chance so don’t beat yourself up because someone else’s success is not your failure and it’s nice to get recognition for your hard work but if you’re writing solely for the feedback then you’re writing for the wrong reason and that will lead to the resentment and bitterness mentioned earlier

also if you compliment someone you say you like their outfit but if you complement someone then you complete them

know you dont have future projects for DotH but would love to make fanart of the story because it made me really happy for a long time (my fave couple has to be ezekial/mark ;w;)

Ahahaha god no, I totally love talking about doth. Who can forget their first?

Those characters are like all my favorite archetypes in their purest form. 17 year-old writers have no shame or inner editor, they just dump whatever on the page and that’s exactly what I did. I’m very fond of it! Orin with his blue hair was the placeholder that I had used in daydreams for years up to that point. Riley was always his counterpoint. And then writing doth made me discover all the other tropes that make me tick. I could never not be excited to talk about it and I’m glad you liked it enough to remember it now… what, like 15 years after I posted it?

I went to my 3rd Idina concert in AC last night and it was amazing! I wrote a review. The crowd was actually pretty tame. A LOT of older adults. The median age was probably 40. I expected to see a lot teens and kids but OH WELL, not complaining. i wish everyone would’ve been a little more LIT though. Idina was trying to get the crowd hyped and they were kinda eh.

SHE CAME OUT ON TIME!! At 8:07. I expected 8:30 so I was glad. When she came out, I lost my shit as always. This is the 7th time I’ve seen her live and 3rd concert and I still die every time. She was wearing the black jumpsuit thing from the Carmel/Japan shows and it looked HOT on her. I LOVED QUEEN OF SWORDS!!! ESPECIALLY THE DRUMMING. My 15 yr. old self died bc I used to think I would be an aspiring drummer one day (still do). This song is sooo good live, omg. And i was def singing along (NOT SORRY).

All of the songs from idina. were REALLY GOOD LIVE. It almost makes me wish it were a live album instead. I think it was the band/sound mixing that made it sound really good. Small world/Everybody Knows were never my favorite songs and based on what I’ve seen her sing from TV appearances they were ehhh but I really enjoyed both songs in person. A LOT.

Idina was casually talking about AC and said “I won 600 bucks at the casino” I was like YEAH, LIKE YOU NEED IT. OOOOKAY.

I was actually really glad to hear Seasons of Love, even though I’ve heard it sung live many times (not by Idina though). Only thing is, I wish it was later in the set? It just seemed like it was out of place. Also, at the beginning of the song, it sounded like echo was from the OBCR recording which was cool. I was surprised she remembered the words to this song, because she always forgot them at the BCEFA fundraiser for If/Then. But she NAILED the high note at the end of the song!!!

During “Don’t Rain on My Parade” before she sang “HEY THERE...HERE I AM” she said, “Where are we from? Jersey or Philly” (EVERYONE WHO COMES TO SOUTH JERSEY FOR A CONCERT ASKS THAT QUESTION) and a bunch of us (including me) screamed “JERSEY” (thank god). Then, someone said Long Island and she said, “YOU CAME TO AC FROM THERE?” AHAHAHA.

Also during DROMP the fringe from her jacket was hanging and she gave it to someone. it was pretty funny.

When introducing the song Cake, she talked about Aaron and “Since you last saw me, I got engaged. After getting divorced you never think that someone could love you again.” It was sweet.

CAKE WAS AMAZINGGGG LIVE. AS IF I DIDNT ALREADY LOVE IT FROM THE ALBUM. I’m so glad she put it in the set. I also loved the projections in the background during the whole concert. She was ROCKIN OUT and was classic rocker Idina! She rocked out so hard, that she said her face was hurting and she shouldn’t wear heavy metal earrings while singing a heavy metal song. After this, she turned to her guitarist and said “You don’t have that problem, fish.” She also said she needed a better bra and touched her boobs. 

I really liked the Wind Beneath My Wings/DG mashup. I’ve heard Defying Gravity live 100 times and I’m sick of it, but the smoke, cape, and background set really added something to it. It made me like the song again. I also loved hearing some Beaches music too! The riffs on BOTH songs were amazing as always! She forgot the words to DG too. OF ALL SONGS.

OKAY, SO I CANT BELIEVE IM SAYING THIS. BUT “I DO” WAS ONE OF THE BEST PARTS OF THIS CONCERT. And this was the song I avoided listening to because of my anxiety. But I had some weird feeling that I’d have a revelation and love the song while hearing it live, and I DID. Toward the end of the song, Idina had this angry breakdown. I can’t explain it. She kept singing “I Do” and spinning around with her arms out while still holding the cape and swinging it around. Like, you could tell she was angry. But in a good way. She was letting it ALL OUT and being vulnerable and it was the greatest thing I’ve ever seen.

I liked the cover of Rocksteady. It was different. I was sick of her old covers so it was nice to hear something new. Her weird dancing during this song was hilarious! ALSO, PROPS TO VANESSA BRYAN. THAT WOMAN IS A SINGER!!! I was afraid of her having backup singers bc they usually overpower her, but they didn’t at all! The whole band was great. I liked it better than the last tour where she had an orchestra. I think it consumes her too much.

Clearly Idina knew that a lot of her audience members were repeat attenders, so she explained how she always likes to sing No Day But Today because it reminds her to live in the moment and she talked a little about Jonathan. I always love this part of her shows because it shows that she still acknowledges her humble beginnings. During the part where she holds the mic to the audience to sing “no day but today” like 2 people sang (I swear I could hear my own voice) so that was lame but after she said “thank you, that sounded really beautiful” and I was like OOOOOKAY THEN.

There was one part in the show (I can’t remember when) where Idina was like “I’m always keepin it real” I’n like HECK YEAHHH (that probably didn’t need to be written down but it was funny) EDIT: It was when she was moving her stool. And she said “I move my own furniture.” Then, she said her manager Burt made a request for the stool to come out from the stage like Beyonce (obviously kidding)

The Dear Prudence/Do You Wanna Build A Snowman mashup was interesting. I wasn’t thrilled about Idina singing another frozen song but it wasn’t a bad mashup and didn’t bother me as much as I expected.

I also thought “Let It Go” would piss me off but only 6 kids came up and it seemed a lot more organized than what I’ve seen at other shows. It was hilarious because Idina said (about the kids’ parents) “THESE ARE THE PARENTS WHO BRING THEIR KIDS TO A CASINO AT NIGHT” and I died. And I think one of the kids had the same bday as her? (Or maybe an audience member?) So she said “Yeah but you’re 30 years younger!” She took a selfie with all of the kids when they were done singing and it was cute. Then said they were all gonna play craps after the show. When the kids were going back to their parents, she was SO SALTY. I LOVED IT. She said to the parents, PUT THE PHONES DOWN AND TAKE YOUR KIDS.” HAHAH. EDIT: the boy (who was about 15) actually said to HER that he’s 30 years younger and she mimicked him.

Random side note: when I was on line for the bathroom after the concert, two of the kids who sang with her were walking the other way and they seemed so excited that they got to go up on stage. So even if I get pissed about Frozen and Idina giving all of the attention to the kids, hearing them say that was priceless.

The “I See You” fan videos were a nice addition and not what I was expecting at all. It was a great way to end the concert and I’m glad there was some fan input in there. I really liked when she talked about the African saying, how one person says “I see you” and the other person says, “I see you, I’m here.” That was beautiful.

There was a lot I probably forgot or didn’t talk about, but it was a great concert. Much more fast-paced and streamlined than last time. (The run time was about 2 hours by the way, maybe even less. It ended a little before 10). There wasn’t a lot of chatter in between songs which kind of sucked, but it reminded me a lot more of the intimate concerts from back in the day. Idina seemed so happy to be there and free, and she really seems like she’s in a good place now. And I liked that a lot. I think it’s illegal to like a performer this much and I can’t wait to see her live again!

and yes ahahaha i think cachorro is more cute akfhkdj and yeah there are some differences the one i think the most is how "woman" in PT-portuguese is rapariga and in BRA-portuguese rapariga means like a bad word, like an insult for women and "woman" is actually "mulher" in brazil skfjdkfhdkf but im very happy to learn that about u, im always happy when i see people that knows a little of portuguese, for me its a beautiful language (specially BRA-portuguese but im not being imparcial akdjkfdk) -M

and yeah !! i can speak it like totally fine i just only learnt from word of mouth (from my parents talking when i was a kid) so i never learnt to write it properly ! otherwise I’d tell you you could just send asks in portuguese if you wanted but alas (i mean you can try anyway I just might not get everything lmaoo) 

but yeah i study psychology and our uni encourages you to do research projects for your third year so it kinda depends where the good labs are for what i wanna do a project on ! i think in general this stuff is usually very spread out so if i specifically wanna go to a region there’s a good chance I’ll find smthn if i look into it??

Came back so late!!! I think how I write poems, like the skeleton, is kinda to pick out words that ring forth. But #1, notice I'd capitalize Love. Cuz the moment we use Love, it kinda refers to godly kinda instead of lowly earthly love between creations. But yeah probs the ideas I'd play around would be about ego death and burning such into ashes, which may at first leave you in states that feels like the self crashes, ruins but in all it silences the soul, hushes. And thats where true empty cup and humility and ready to listen to The Word to reach you. And I like the idea of Burn WITH Love, that Love is there by you, as you burn with intensity, there by you through the journey from darkness into light, through by you, be with you. And it encapsulates going thru the process together. With Love. Al waliy. Its so interesting, just a play of, huruf jjar hahahah um prepositions and it might change up the meanings in varied ways. Burn FOR Love, Burn out of Love, Burn to Love, Burn into Love(hahahah idk is that possible) (I can only think of ways humans may reflect a tiny fraction of attributes of God by His mercy and will) but yeah and then the flow would also change immensely once you change the subject of Love to love. Burn for love, burn from love. Are burns always painful? Could the process be beautiful? What is the end product? What about sublimation - changes of state from one to another. What about the burn sensation, is that alll that you'd focus on, because of how fiercely the experience of a burn is? Is it self inflicted, accidental, a necessity to get to another state? Accidental from rubbing against what? Kerosene or another rough rock? Glow like that bbq thing (omg what is it called HAHA) (amber) or burn boldly like campfires. Did it start from small sparks and firestarters or set aflame from explosion.
