Demiboy!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Demiboy (also known as Demiman, Demimale, Demiguy, Demilad, Demidude, or Demibloke) is a non-binary gender in which one is partially, but not fully, a boy or man. They may or may not identify as another gender in addition to being partially a boy. The other part of one's gender can be any gender or combination of genders, including a lack of gender.
The term demiboy was coined on August 12th, 2010. On August 12, 2010, user Bad Patient of AVEN made a post saying:
"...I said to myself that I can make any word relate to me if I just stick a "demi-" in front of it. And then I realized that it might actually help me find a word for my gender identity. I've felt for some time that I may have too much of a masculine element in me to call myself agender and feel good about it — so maybe it would be a nice idea to call myself a demiguy. Demidude. Demibloke..."

Demiboyflux is a combination of demiboy and boyflux. Demiboyflux individuals have some connection to maleness but this connection fluctuates. At their most male, demiboyflux individuals feel like a demiboy. At their least male, they may feel like another gender. It may also describe those who are partially, but not fully boyflux.
The term demiboyflux was first coined on August 10th, 2016. The first known use of this term was on the same day by Tumblr user @nonbinaryresource

Demimasculine or Demimasculinity is where one's gender feels partly masculine and partly another gender. This other gender can be almost anything other than demifeminine. The masculine part of this gender refers to someone's gender that feels masculine itself, not just any masculine gender. The other part of the gender is any gender that is not binary like non-binary, agender, genderqueer, xenogenders, and etc.
The term demimasculine was coined on January 23rd, 2019 by Tumblr user @nonbinaryinfo the flag was created by @imoga-pride on the same day.

Demimasculineflux is a gender under the demimasculine umbrella, it is also the flux version of this label. It's described as a gender that is primarily demimasculine, but also fluctuating, similar to demiboyflux. When one is most masculine, they're demimasculine, but at one's least masculine, they may be another gender, such as agender.

Demimasc is a superset of demiboy that describes someone who partially identifies as a man/boy or whos gender is partly masculine in nature. In addition to feeling that way, demimascs also feel partly outside the binary. That can include anything under the non-binary umbrella like agender, genderqueer, or xenogenders for example.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Made some alternate flags to my other demifluix genders since not everybody who identifies as a demiboy/demigirl aren't partially men/women and are more masc/fem instead
I also just wanted to make a demimasc/demimasculineflux flag for myself
Demimascflux - a gender that is primarily demimasc but also fluctuating
Demifemflux - a gender that is primarily demifem but also fluctuating
Demimasculineflux - a gender that is primarily demimasculine but also fluctuating
Demifeminineflux - a gender that is primarily demifeminine but also fluctuating
Demifemmeflux - a gender that is primarily demifemme but also fluctuating

Note
Hi! i've been struggling with something recently. I'm nonbinary, i have a bit social/physical dysphoria but it's pretty low so i can often ignore it, i feel pretty happy and comfortable saying/identifying as nonbinary. These feelings are consistent until i go outside, when i go grocery shopping for example, i suddenly stop "feeling gender". I feel like i lose my... identity?? i guess?? things don't "bother" me as much anymore. I'm confused :// any idea why this happens?
Gender is sort of an ‘undefined’ term. I mean each person’s definition of different gender labels are slightly different because every person is different. If you feel comfortable identifying as nonbinary, you still can.
There are so many things that could be causing this shift between gender identities. Disclaimer: I am not in your situation so these are all possible ideas about what could be happening, not facts.
Partially identifying as another gender (Ex. agender, nongendered, genderless, genderfree, or neutrois) when you leave the house
Having a fluctuation in the “level” of nonbinary you identify as
Dysphoria
Being more comfortable in your own home than outside
The people you are around
Your mood and emotions and stress level (4-6 are based on personal experience, I’m demimasculineflux)
From what I can tell from this site, a shift between genders can last minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or years. This is all 100% normal.
This is how I discovered my gender identity. This could help you determine what makes your gender fluctuate. This isn’t to say there has to be a reason for the fluctuation, this is just one way you could try to look for it if you wanted to. (I am not an expert, this is just what worked for me)
You’re going to need to grab:
A writing utensil + paper or a phone/laptop (to take notes on)
Optional: Drawing supplies with multiple colors (markers, pens, crayons, colored pencils)
Something relaxing (Ex. Markers and paper, a phone, stress ball)
Something to drink
Get to a location where you know your gender is really prominent. (For you, this would be outside.)
Write some stuff at the top:
The date
The name(s) you identify with most right now
The pronouns you identify with most right now
The labels you identify with most right now (if you don’t know, just write the ones you do know and put a question mark)
When you are done with that, put everything down and stop. Sit in a position that is comfortable or lay on your back.
Breathe deeply and slowly into your stomach. Relax all your muscles. Don’t try to stop thoughts coming into your head because it doesn’t work, just let them pass through. Keep doing this until you feel you are relaxed and thinking about right now. (In the beginning, this took me around 30 minutes but when I stopped, it took 5 minutes.)
When you feel you are done, open your eyes. If you were laying down, sit back up. Take a second and just wiggle out the joints, sway back and forth or jump up and down.
Grab whatever you were using to write on and reflect on how you feel now. Remember to write down the question. If you cannot find anything to reflect on, here are some questions you could answer:
If you heard someone calling your name right now, what name would they say?
(If you are unsure about the answer to #1) Draw a shape or symbol that represents your name
If you heard someone say a gendered word describing you, what word would you most like to hear? What word would you least like to hear?
What label(s) do you identify with right now?
Draw anything that you feel would represent how you identify right now.
If someone told you right now you are ________ how would you feel? Why?
Use the relaxing object and sip the beverage before moving on with your day. (I tried doing this method without it and I was super anxious the rest of the day.)
If you were looking for a label to help define a “moving” gender identity, this source has a lot of good examples.

Mod Introduction
Hi everyone! I’m Zay. I am excited to be a part of this blog! I am demimasculineflux (fluctuates on a scale between nonbinary, demimasculine, and masculine), nonbinary, and queer. I use xe/xem and they/them pronouns.
I’m 18 years old, I live in America and I only speak English fluently but I am in the process of learning ASL. I am in college for pre-medicine right now and I hope to get my doctorate in pediatric surgery. I’m an artist, I write songs, and I play a few instruments.
I’m very excited to getting to know everyone!
