i need crowley to call aziraphale archangel. i need him to say "im sorry your supreme highness am i not good enough for you?" sarcastically. i need him to mockingly bow to him. i need him to torment aziraphale with this so damn much.

Good Omens & Visual Tarot - Part 1
I have been fiddling with a few different posts that are going to take a while longer still to complete. In the meantime I decided to do a little bit of a Good Omens Tarot visual analysis.
*Disclaimer* I am not a tarot expert, I am using visuals simply to equate these scenes to the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. Most of the limited meaning and analysis have been pulled from various tarot websites.
I hope you enjoy looking through these! They are not super deep or intensive but were very fun to put together :) They are ordered first by Major Arcana, then Minor Arcana, and finally Court Cards.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE FOOL
The Fool represents the willingness to take risks, being inexperienced, improvisation and beginners luck. Aziraphale and the 1941 magic debacle are very fitting for the fool card. He doesn't know he's just endangered Crowley in front of Hell, doesn't know about the miracle blocker, and what they are about to face. Teetering dangerously close to the edge of the cliff. Yet, they've just somehow successfully escaped the stage unscathed.

THE MAGICIAN
The Magician represents one's potential, and capability to harness one's potential, especially in a situation where transformation is needed. It brings to mind the change that's needed in Heaven, the work Aziraphale needs to do to fix a broken system.
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE EMPEROR
The Emperor sits on a throne, flanked by dual rams heads. This card represents leadership, power, authority, courage, and intelligence. The Emperor is considered to be someone who is very powerful. Crowley's powers and past angelic identity are still somewhat of a mystery to us, and we have good reason to believe he was indeed a powerful figure. Could this be foreshadowing as well?
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE LOVERS
While The Lovers in modern decks often has a romantic reading, traditionally this card represented a crossroads in a relationship. Choices between life paths, and commitment. Aziraphale and Crowley choosing their side at the end of season one reflects this crossroads and decision very well.
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE CHARIOT
The Chariot represents overcoming conflict and moving forward, but the charioteer is warned to be wary of the way ahead. Crowley rushing back to Aziraphale after the Book of Life threat is ready to move past their earlier conflict and move forward. But danger might lie ahead.
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE HERMIT
The Hermit represents the ability to recognize a 'teacher in a humble disguise', wisdom and enlightenment. Though it takes Aziraphale millenia, I think he eventually does recognize Crowley is a teacher or a guide in disguise for him, helping him sort through the abyss of human morality.
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE WHEEL OF (MIS)FORTUNE
The Wheel of Fortune card reminds us that life is ever changing and moving, we cannot stand on top of the wheel indefinitely, where we think we finally may see and understand things clearly, it will always turn. Looking at the Good Omens Wheel of Misfortune, it has interesting items like "going abroad" - a nod to season 3 possibly being set at least somewhat in New York?
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE TOWER
The Tower represents disaster, distress, and upheaval. There is an unforeseen catastrophe that will need to be weathered. I believe Aziraphale's emotional journey in the Job minisode exemplifies this perfectly. His realization that he has reached a turning point in his beliefs, his willingness to fall to save Jobs children and defy the Almighty... The path going forward will be difficult.

queen songs that give off major aziracrow
for all of ur ineffable playlist needs!
disclaimer: this post was definitely not written by the bentley
Tumblr media
as a former queen obsessed teenager who discovered good omens through queen back in 2019, i've been hearing aziraphale and crowley in every other queen song i listen to. so, i might as well put it to good use. enjoy songs and lyrics that broke me.
(ps. i'm not including the songs used in the show or book, or anything super obvious, because i'm pretty sure no one needs me to explain why good old fashioned lover boy and love of my life are aziracrow)
long away (a day at the races, 1976)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
snake eye theory bitches come get ur juice.
this song reminds me of crowley’s general angst and trauma. his complicated relationship with heaven, not believing in it as an institution, but marvelling at the beauty of the stars, of aziraphale.
other parts of the song also feel to me like someone overcoming the pain they experienced in the past, finding a better future. this is endgame for both of them.
dreamer's ball (jazz, 1978)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is another crowley being sad song. it's about yearning for your lost love, going to sleep and dreaming of them.
the dancing comment is very 2x05, but the second chorus really conveys the desperate and intense love that aziracrow has.
i can't live with you (innuendo, 1991)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is so miscommunication and codependency season 2 gave us. they are just falling apart without each other, but need to be separated to get over their shit. with a little dash of religious symbolism? i am obsessed.
the millionaire waltz (a day at the races, 1976)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the aziraphale vibes are off the charts in terms of instrumentals (and then brian may comes swooping in gloriously with his guitar). this song finds love and wealth in simple material things. human things, one might say. there's also references to dancing, holding hands, lovers in the rain, music, etc.
it also yearns for lost love, wishing a former lover to come back to them. this reads to me as aziraphale wishing for crowley to join him in heaven, where they can truly be happy together.
it also gives off very go-heaven vibes, being just slightly too upright and proper, almost to the point of being sinister.
my melancholy blues (news of the world, 1977)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is just crowley post-every. (also crowley in the bar in 2x05.)
some day one day (queen ii, 1974)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a lot of this song's lyrics are hopeful. the first verse is about being heard, finally (the music being loud reminds me of the nightingale not being actually heard in 1x06). crowley is finally able to confess, but they still cannot be together. yet.
the final verse reflects on this concept. when they were younger ("young" means nothing to eternal beings but whatever), prefall and post-not-apocalypse, they were so close to being together. but still, they're not there yet.
but they will come home. south downs will happen. some day.
bonus: love me like there's no tomorrow by freddie mercury (mr. bad guy, 1985)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
that feeling when you know you and your lover have drifted apart, but you try to fix it all by taking them in your arms and kissing them, even though you know deep down that you will never be loveable, but you still hold onto the hope that it might be enough.
that's all, hope you enjoyed!
here's my good omens playlist, if anyone is interested in listening:
(i know i said i wouldn't talk about songs that were in the show or book, but i want to give a particular shout out to it's a hard life.
also, for the record: goflb is crowley coded, and killer queen is aziraphale coded.)

Good Omens Fic Recommendations
This is Grim's favorite Good Omens fics to ring in the new year. A disclaimer, I am well aware that all of these are WILDLY popular, and don't need my help, but you know what? I love them, and I wanna talk about them. One thing you're gonna learn about me REAL quick is that I love a silly little AU lol.
Slow Show
This is a human AU where Anthony J. Crowley is an actor who’s burned all his bridges…Until he gets a blindingly bright second chance, co-starring in a new tv show “Warlock” with Hollywood’s favorite good boy celebrity, Avery Fell. From the moment Crowley meets Avery, he feels drawn to him. Only problem is, Avery is not only married, but he has a reputation to upkeep.
(This fic lives rent free in my head. I read it at a horrible, horrible time in my life. It’s so, so heartbreaking, and so, so cathartic. There’s this one particular bit in my head, that I can’t spoil…But the discussions around queerness, and life, and second chances this fic includes. They really saved me, in a way, I think. It’s wildly popular, it doesn’t need me repping for it.)
Pray For Us, Icarus
In this AU, Crowley has become human, and has forgotten that he ever once wasn’t human. Aziraphale finds him, but he dies. And keeps dying, through the years, through different lives, and Aziraphale keeps finding him.
(Another wildly popular fic, it had its heyday with the first season, and has recently had a well deserved resurgence with the second. This fic will rip your heart out, stomp on it, and you will thank it. The only thing I can say against it, is I don’t think the ending quite lives up to the rest of the story. But with the rest of the story being SO good, I’m not even sure that’s a mark against it. BONUS: also check out "One Night in Bangor, and the World's Your Oyster" by this author).
Can I Tempt You?
A missing scene style fic, showing more of Beelzebub and Gabriel’s meetings through the years.
(I’m completely enamored with this fic, It’s very quickly become a favorite of mine, and I tend to think of it as canon, a bit lol. I’m lucky enough to have gotten to know the person who wrote this, a bit. And it makes me feel all the luckier).
One Night Will Remind You.
Ok. So this IS pure porn, but it’s porn with plot. Set in a human world where Beelzebub and Gabriel are business partners and lovers, turned bitter rivals, they’re both food scientists, on the cutting edge of figuring out new ways to feed humanity. Brought together by Adam, a newbie to the industry with big ideas, they’re forced to be in a room together for the first time in a while…Things ensue.
(This is spicy, SPICY, with excellent world building. It kills me. Also it’s a fic where Beelzebub nonbinary, and has a vagina that is…Used…Which usually squicks me out a bit, as it tends to make me feel dysphoria. BUT this is just the good shit.)

gomens s2 notes, with the general disclaimer that I don't think this show should have ever gone past one season and the fact that az and crowley didn't get together 15 minutes after s1 ends is stupid
eps 1 and 2:
aziraphale is such a delight honestly. ms really puts a charm in him
crowley's bright red hair looks stupid but I am a crowley lover 4eva
the girls are cute
I am so fucking mad that they recast beelzebub. my sexy nasty demon nonbinary wench was PERFECT just the way they were
honestly, less cringe than s1 BECAUSE it's not based on a book that had some annoying plot points. I hated newt and didn't care much for Them, so a season focused only on crowley and az isn't so bad since it allows heaven and hell to have bigger roles in the narrative, and they're quite funny
I like that they acknowledge they THOUGHT they were going to get together but idk why it hasn't happened already
ending theme for ep1 is absolutely horrific
amnesiac gabriel is kind of cute and charming. fuck what can I say he's just a hapless nice man
okay this is funny
nina is hilarious
Tumblr media
HEY
YOU CAN'T DO THAT
