Editing Tutorial!

Sorry it took me so long to do this but here’s the thing! This will show my general process of editing as well as how I do faux-reshade. Tutorial under the cut.

1. Open up your image! I use Adobe Photoshop CC 2018. I’ll use this outtake.

2. So I use the Kaleeko Clean & Clear Action Set. I first use the “Topaz Clean” and then the “Texture Smoothing” actions. I then flatten my image. I then apply my coloring PSD/action. Currently I’m using “Bill” from @early-grape‘s Granity Falls action set. I don’t use the grain layer but it looks really cute! Then flatten the image completely.

At this point my image looks like this.

3. I then do my faux-reshade DOF/blur. First thing I do is duplicate the background layer.

4. Then I apply Gaussian Blur to Layer 1, these are my settings.

5. Then, on the same layer, will apply Box Blur. Here are my settings:

This is what my image looks like now.

6. From here I’ll take the eraser tool and erase what I want to be in focus. In this picture I want Fallyn to be in focus so I’ll erase on Layer 1. I’ll erase the outline first and double check the shape of it by hiding the Background layer.

7. You can see that I do this kinda haphazardly, that’s the way I like it so it makes it fairly quick. You can do this as clean or as sloppily as you’d like. Once you’re good with your outline, just erase the rest of the inside!

8. Now bring your Background layer back and see your nice faux-DOF!

9. Flatten your image.

10. I use the “Merge & Resize” action from @smubuh‘s White Border Action set. I then use the “3D” action from poolbrop’s Fake It! Action set. Then I’ll use the “L / White” action from smubuh’s set to finish it!

And that’s it pretty much. I’m still messing around with this process but this is the foundation of it! Lemme know if you guys have any questions shoot me an ask or a DM!

Week 12: Autumn… the Spring of the Southern Hemisphere!

I didn’t know what I was going to do this week… it’s still too warm for any deciduous trees to turn colour. And it’s turning into one of the wettest March’s on record! But as we were driving home tonight… something caught my eye… in the rain. We u turned at the next round about, pulled over in peak traffic … did I mention the rain… all so I could get my Autumn pic! Wild Mushrooms! They were quite large… see outtakes when I get them up… and boobish!

The lighting isn’t great… had to lighten it up a little in post edit - PicsArt.. clarity:10 I didn’t want to do too much and lose the detail in my DOF mushroom.

so. u r probably like. ky some of these outfits Would Not keep u warm. and ur absolutely correct so i have decided to explain myself here u go (if u r new here these sims r all witches btw and here is the character page so u can tell who ur looking at)

(all from top to bottom l to r) characters who HATE winter and literally HATE being cold; aksel, niklas, basil

characters who actually dress like normal people in winter; chandra, silver, shion, inesa, ulisses, malachai, genevieve, artemis

characters who use magic to keep themselves warm (aka cheaters ehehe); jinx, virve, kestral, agnes, inesa, pandora

characters that Do Not Care; virve, maev, ares, malachai

and then there r some of them that have special conditions !! agate doesn’t feel weather effects but she still dresses somewhat appropriate. and then ludmila has her curse so she’s already always cold anyways, winter doesn’t change much for her

so yah ..... idk why i wrote all of this i just thought it’d be fun to lore dump. also i myself rarely ever dress weather appropriate so some of my sims don’t either !! they r just like me :)
