Merging this 2 pics and tinkering around with different effects, I came up with this (below)

In my head I always picture Valjean with brown eyes and Javert with blue eyes.
For Valjean it's because brown is a warm color that I associate with earth and home and it fits his character so well.
And for Javert because I can't stop thinking about this post

This is a shot in the dark but can anyone recommend me wolf(dog) books similar in style to Jack London and James Oliver Curwood?
Meaning no talking or anthropomorphized animals, no fantasy elements or whatnot. Preferably set in the past.
I've been looking for something similar for a while but nothing quite feels like White Fang or Kazan or whatnot.

If Javert was an animal
When I think of the description of Javert in the Brick and it gets to the 'dog son of a wolf' part
My mind conjures up images of a grey, lonely, sad, emotionally neglected wolf dog hybrid with grey/blue eyes, that I want to take in, love, cuddle, play with and give the best possible life to.
I love wolves and dogs and going off that description which Hugo bends over backwards to make as unflattering as possible, a wolf dog hybrid would make the most sense to me if Javert was an animal. Also wolves and dogs are not ugly as per the rest of Hugo's description of Javert. Dogs are amazing and beautiful animals and so are wolves. So maybe Javert is not really all that ugly at all.
