Honestly, your criticism of Barghest feels rooted in gender-essentialism. Muscles=masculine. Muscles can be feminine too.

That...was literally the point I was making. My point was that FGO's constant gender-essentialism means it feels a need to apologize for making a remotely buff female character by constantly emphasizing her femininity (she wants a lover, she like cooking, she's constantly drawn in aprons and blushing timidly, everything about her second ascension exists and her third ascension is more focused on making her sexy than making her intimidating, etc) and explicitly doing so in a way that portrays her muscles as something monstrous to be ashamed of.

This is most of the official in game art for the "first real buff woman" in fgo. I think it's self demonstrating.

And while you can argue that, yes, just because a woman has muscles doesn't mean she can't have feminine interests and/or aesthetics, it IS an issue when the piece of media the character is from ONLY has those kinds of female characters to begin with. You can't have "a bit of column A and a bit of column B" if you never even set up column B in the first place.

hes like a normal 12 year old but like, not normal

he has adhd shut up yes he does yes he odes!

His dog is crusty and white. He named her bulldozer before knowing she was a girl and stuck with it cuz it was funny to call a small crusty white dog bulldozer

roommates are a given, i think hikari dorm is perfectly balanced (chaotic) in its own way and that even tho the 3 of them are so different they also manage to get along really well. i cant take them seriously at all and i think thats part of their charm lol. they're all such Characters individually that together it just feels Normal. i can imagine the three of them sitting around the bathtub, kanata splashing around while hiyori paints his own nails and rinne gossips. its like if the golden girls were anime boys but theres 3 instead of 4 and none of them are divorced or widowed. so really nothing like the golden girls but im sure u understand...maybe

nihihi dorm is actually tied for my fave with gender dorm god i love them a ton, i think in part because i love nikis relationship with hiiro and how hes adopted him as his own younger brother, but also hinata. i think about niki cooking for them and having them try new dishes and them having movie nights or staying up all night playing games and even tho niki has work the next morning hes like (exaggerated sigh) fine ONE more game...but he loves it

i love both rinne and niki (and crazybs in general honestly) doting relationship on 2wink and im so happy they keep getting collabs .. in case they decide to give us more crumbs... plz. they feel like younger siblings to them. rinne especially makes me so soft because past his initial impression of being a bad influence and generally just pushing his luck on how much he can tease, it always feels like hes looking out for the two

i rly like how rinne gets along with his kouhai both in asobi and craftmonster bc of the attitude he takes on, ive mentioned it in another post but w/ the former especially he rly just allows himself to be playful so much so that it almost takes the kids off-guard bc theyre like what..hes not as scary as we thought he'd be at all. i think the best rinne friendships are the ones where they set those prejudices aside and dont take him seriously at all lol bc that's when he rly starts to feel comfortable. this grown ass man running around playing games and doing arts n crafts with a bunch of 15-17 y/os (and shu i guess) is a funny mental image and it rly feels like he can let himself loose. conversely i also love when he's exasperated with his juniors bc then hes like oh right im an adult i need to set an example.. this is about U chill yellow

on the other hand i like how niki interacts with ppl a lot more "serious" than him i.e ibara, natsume bc he tends to like..soften them? ppl cant help but let their guard down around niki hes just.... himself. like even if theyre initially wary they grow to be like "oh wait this guy's really nice what the fuck"

i particularly like nikis kitchen circle bc its ppl you usually wouldnt see interact with niki but u can tell they want to impress him. its so sweet nikis just some guy who wants to share his love for cooking. also thinking about the difference between how ibara would interact with rinne and niki (harsher with rinne bc hes his Boss whereas with niki he's more accommodating, that one gordon ramsey meme thats like u donkey vs oh oh dear) is funny so even if theres not a lot of interactions for them i want to think ibara would let niki get away with just about anything

AND NIKI AND TETORA...IVE ALREADY DISCUSSED THIS A FEW TIMES THOUGH... i have a huge soft spot for them. ritsu too. they get like 2 interactions (sweets hunter story, craftmonsters recent gacha) but ritsus humor is just so DRY and u can see niki be like (cogs turning in his head) Whar? its really silly ALSO HE CALLS HIM NIKIPYON....IS THAT NOT PERFECT... i need them to be friends

i like niki and mayois friendship, but its admittedly not my favorite; i like how niki feels like he can trust mayoi implicitly and how he tries to make him comfortable too — i think theyre both quite similar irt self image/esteem although they both go about it in different ways. their interactions can be sweet but one thing that stops me from enjoying them fully is how mayoi always seems kind of uncomfortable (and niki seems unaware of how/why he's uncomfortable) ;_; i hope that in the future the writers can let mayoi be more at peace around him, it'd be sweet!!

just watched the new honkai pt2 trailer, and i have uh... mixed feelings. I havent played hi3 for a month or 2 now, although my blogs full of it (mostly im still attached to the og cast) but i have a basic idea of whats happending before ch 40.

Anb basically, i started playing during kolosten, but theres a huge contrast in pre-kolosten and post-kolosten stories, a feeling i got from just playing through old stories.

Anyway, the thing is that its starting to feel more and more like genshin. Personally I dislike genshin, its not my thing (although it WAS my first gacha game).

Now, it feels like hoyo decidet to "unite" their branding and have the same style over all their games. And I think most players dont wasnt their game to look like hsr/genshin, because theyd play HSR/GI if they wanted to?? It feels like they tried to do this ever since kolosten finishied.

Personally, I loved APHO. It was fun and stuff, and even with new mechanics, it felt clearly honkai. I could take a look at the environment and tell its honkai (hi3 and hsr have some subtle differences in ow style, i like hi3s more). But this?? It feels like they finally got the perfect chance to finish "uniting" their brand into a single recognizable style and took it. Whenever that's bad or good depends on liking genshin/hsr. I think with the whole turning a new page thing, they want to attract players of those two games.

As my closing note... whats the deal with giving every non-loli woman a large bust??? Like, every single woman since "new Flame-Chasers" has a large bust?? First it was Himeko (and kinda mei) of the old cast, but now its everyone exept the lolis?? (Using loli as cover word for both kids and kid-short adults like Theresa.) Like, I am not against it, but on every single character it becomes boring. Give me some variation, please?? Even genshin has more veriety in body types (read: bust sizes) and genshin sucks at that?? Are we just going to have the 3 same models plastered with different hair and outfits????? Sorry, this has nust been bothering me a lot.

As I said, I havent played HI3 in some and never spent money so I dont think they really ever care for people like me. Ive "took a break" playing, but after this I think Ill neeet to quit for good. The only time Ena and Akito get along is to bully little kids on roblox, and they both purposefully cause traffic on the mini cart games

Once Ena gets her license to drive she turns into Akito and Toya’s personal chauffeur (against her will obv)

When Tsukasa finally met Emu’s family they thought they were dating, but soon found out Emu was dating Nene and Tsukasa was dating Rui, so her family backed off and never entertained the idea of Emu and Tsukasa dating ever again

Akito makes edible pancakes for him and Ena 

Akito once tired Toya to smoke a blunt, Toya didnt talk to Akito for 2 weeks after that unless Akito quit, which he did (for his bf ofc)

Akito has the most horrible handwriting known to man, only two people can decipher it, Toya and Ken 

After Akito relapsed Toya was very disappointed and begged Akito to stop vaping, Akito didnt but promised to never smoke in front of Toya ever again, or smoke before they’re gonna meet up

gumi - the star of course; she never let it get to her head tho, she's just as happy staying in w/ friends and family as she is performing. she always gets ppl rly kickass gifts for holidays/birthdays despite ppl often thinking she's a little absent. she's just like that! it's not her fault!

gakupo - only performs in small private venues (his own decision) after several years of dealing w/ the stress of having to live up to his human voice provider's legacy. can tell you anything at all about any famous japanese sword from the last 400 years and is thrilled to do so

gachapoid/ryuto - V3 is a child actor/singer and has a contract with a popular kids show as the host; loves his internet co. family and is always thinking of fun day trips they could do together. V2 quit performing the second V3 was released and makes several thousand dollars a month cheating at fortnite and streaming tiktok controversy reaction videos (fsr these are the only two i rly separate by voicebank version?? i dont rly have diff headcanons for gumi/lily/etc v2 versus v3 etc)

lily - an unexpected friend and protégé of miriam! miriam's like a mother to her after she went to the retired loid's cafe and bar to chat and ended up in a whole therapy session abt being a lower quality vocaloid that isnt getting any updates. she still performs acoustic covers in miriam's cafe.

CUL - the cool weed aunt of the group; she gives gachaV2 fortnite v-bucks every time she vists. while lily struggled with irrelevance CUL thrived in it; she only produces songs for a small private label she founded, and otherwise fills her time with crossfit and volunteer work

kokone - gumi's ex; it was completely amicable and they're still good friends. Gacha V2 calls her "gumi's ex" out loud occasionally bc he knows it pisses her off. she's somewhat sensitive about never taking off like some other vocaloids, but it's not like she thinks about it much

Rana - has an unofficial rivalry with gacha v3 (not v2!) but she doesn't even realize it. she's having a blast guest starring on gachaV3's morning show and having duets with powerhouses like gumi, but gachaV3 feels threatened by another childish character voice. v2 absolutely fuels this by suggesting bigger and better opportunities to rana

Galaco (prize version) - kind of like the mysterious celebrity relative? she never got huge but her name is important enough that she still arrives to holidays in a glitter-coated limousine. she has the money to upgrade every vocaloid in the house on her own dime but instead she uses it to gift tchotchkes and ugly apparel (not out of malice she's just out of touch)

chika - originally a constituent of gumi's, she never really wanted to be a singer until gumi started performing for the big leagues; inspired by her friend she joined the same record label and the two have been inseparable since, though she doesn't get as many big shows. she and lily gossip about the entertainment business

otomachi una - a lot of the internet co. household actually didn't like una when she first got signed to their label; even gumi felt somewhat threatened by a newer, higher quality voicebank. luckily everyone realized pretty quickly that she's just a funny silly gal and doesn't want to overshadow anyone. Spicy and Sugar are separate android bodies and play "the parent trap" type tricks on the rest of the household constantly

hmm good question! i do actually put a lot of thought into my art (although sometimes it doesnt feel like it when im drawing it lol)

i dont have a fancy tutorial or infographic for my inspirations but for me though a lot of my inspiration is just 'what i think looks nice' i saw thicker lines and i thought 'oh i like that on my art i dont think i like using thin ones' or 'oh textured brushes feel much more fun to use!' ive been drawing for a long time and esp recently ive been taking a lot more time to test out new things and also i have been drawing digitally for a LONG time and that time has helped me figured out my art style

although it appears no matter how different i think im making my art looks people seem to know my style in some spaces ha ha

honestly my biggest think i look at many different things for inspiration. Mediums have all sort of genres in them! books! music! games! movies! other peoples art/art history! dont be afraid to mash things together. think fantasy could have something more? make it from a creatures perspective because you loved to read warrior cats as a kid. i really like character design! and concept art i remember looking at the concept art for metroid prime 2 echoes and being so amazed as a kid and because i like thinking about concepts and 'building on an idea' i like to make redesigns of my fav characters (and also i have ocs of my own ofc lol)

for me it was one thing to build a character from the ground up(i never liked taking an existing character and making them my oc by tweaking some stuff) and its another to say 'hm how i can i add something i like to this design that already exists on its own?' (which i think is such a fun exercise)

as for how i come up with designs that where it gets a little complicated. i sort of got into the habit of doing these designs bc i was reluctant to look up refs so i liked to guess to fill in the cracks. this isnt exactly ideal and i dont do this to so much of a degree now but having a hug backlog of inspirations sets me up for a launchpad on where to look for something i think fits that character (color, setting, style, etc)

unfortunately i do not have a list of famous artists i take inspiration from i played gacha games during my college art history (sorry) but i do like the use of horror vacui in art! its the fear of open spaces so its a lot of patterns and designs all cramped together its my fav thing but im also trying to force myself to leave more spaces open lol

riot forge games i want for my top 10 league champs

making a long ass post for funsies about what kind of riot forge games i want to see in the future revolving around the champs i like, most of this might feel like a shit post but thats kind of the point since i dont know anything about game design Ezreal i want ezreal to be the male version of lara croft, just the annoying gay version, give him a tomb raider styled game in shurima, ixtal or even targon and have him just be the narcissistic bisexual man he is, brownie points if he has multiple different ship endings cause that mf is shipped with everyone. Aphelios and Alune aphelios i have multiple ideas i kind of like, i like skooches idea of a fps shooter adventure game with skill trees and stuff, but i also have grown really attached to the idea of a Kid Icarus Uprising styled game with aphelios going on missions while alune is just casually talking to the aspects and granting aphelios his weapons much like Pit and Palutena. maybe have the 2nd act of the game be with Aphelios actually being voiced due to stuff in act 1 idk idk just spit balling. Sett ok ok ok so what if it was announced that sett was getting a game and it was called something like Sett's Fighting Simulator, where its literally just a fighting game with Sett, but you pick what kind of fighters you want sett to sponsor (idk if thats the right word) so he can earn money, obviously have sett do some of the fighting too. but you might be wondering what would you use this money for? well you could go the boring route and just have it be to upgrade Sett's fighting pit, but you could go the more wholesome route and have the 2nd hidden half of the game be a house decorating simulator for Sett's mom cause WHY NOT. basically do a fnaf pizza simulator but the opposite. Rengar Monster hunter, das it, just have like a monster hunter game with Rengar where you hunt monsters, thats all i got, also maybe you could give rengar outfitoptionsthataretotallynothornychargedokaybye Zoe my bf was thinking of like a gacha game for Zoe where she summons random beings around runeterra or the universe, i like the idea but i just wasnt sure what kind of gameplay it would have. I also really like the idea of cooking mama but its Zoe and she makes chocolate mooncakes and has her own delivary service (asol) and its just a cooking sim Yone my idea for Yone is a crave that i NEED fullfilled now, basically. the first part of the game is a point and click detective game, where as yone you try to figure out what kind of azakana your up against and who it is possessing, once figured out the game switches to a sekiro kind of fighting game where you have to slay the azakana. its simple but i really am attached to the concept. Rakan its really hard to make a game with rakan and not have xayah included (don't get me wrong i like xayah shes just not in my top 10 champs), so I decided for a niche idea thats kind of already been done with the Star Gaurdian event, but it would be a dating simulator where you play as Xayah dating Rakan (duh) and it takes place before things go to shit and they get corrupted. basically have all those pictures of xayah and rakan in Everything Goes On be cute little dates that we actually get to see and maybe have it end tragically idk idk i forget if rakan mf dies in the last event or not lol Yuumi how tf am i supposed to create a game about Yuumi, her lore is dull af and shes just a stupid cat. anyways i love her and her game would be like Talking Tom/Hey You Pikachu where you yell at your phone to get her attention and the microphone just doesnt work and she does the exact opposite thing you want her to do. Nunu and Willump song of nunu is already looking to be everything id want in a nunu gaming game, but if there is no willump hug options in song of nunu then make that its own game
