i’m trying to decide if i want to continue the cover project for season 2 as well. i want to because there are things that happen in the episodes and characters that i really wanna draw- but then again- the fandom is dying. if i do s2 covers idk if im doing it for me or doing it out of necessity.

i can’t move on from this fandom, i’m way to attached to it. it feels wierd to see people leaving. props to those who can, but i just can’t. i joined the fandom april 11th 2023. it feels like o just got here and im not ready to move on. it’s sad that im watching the fandom die as i am grasping at the remains just because i dont wanna lose it.

#season 1 was great #season 2 had great potential #honestly i feel like after they got dood a lot of stuff fell apart #i wish anthony had rolled fear instead of love #because the doodler had really good potential #also terrys death felt unneeded. scary’s arc hasn’t really happened #she’s changed #so shes had an arc #but it’s been an underlying thing #anyway #i have a lot of thoughts about this #thrush rambles #dndads #dungeons and daddies #thrush talks #dndads s2

since ive already been pretty open about this and im not afraid to whack a hornets nest i'll go ahead and say it: if you were raising a kid in a pseudo-apocalyptic setting and then you found out that said kid was going to be the one to defeat the eldritch god that you have tried to defeat for half your lifetime and could never manage. that she was going to FACE that eldritch god it was prophesied. you would teach her how to defend herself and how to fight. like god i am not saying hero's trauma from it wasn't justified because i do think the twins took it too far but the initial process of training her makes so much more sense if you approach it at the angle of "this kid is going to do something we've been trying to do since we were twelve and couldn't manage and we might not even be there to help her so we have to make sure she doesn't die in the process" and not "we're going to make her fix our mistakes" it makes sense. goes along with lark's running theme of not being strong enough in the moments that matter and wanting to make sure nobody else ever feels as helpless as he did when walter was injured. goes along with sparrow desperately tempting fate with normal's name- not because normal was an accident, but because sparrow never wanted to lose even one kid to the doodler and it was a fervent, desperate wish to let normal get to be normal

Not to mention they are now collared and have lost their recently gained autonomy. Which is definitely gonna be traumatic

Just realized something.

Ep 1: The van leaves on Sept. 20, 2019

Ep 68.2: The van takes three months, in Earth time, to recover, putting the day somewhere about the end of December, home in time for Christmas

In the intro to season 2, Sparrow mentions how things and Lark have been different for some time, implying that it’s at least been a couple more months. Let’s say another three.

As we all know, on that fateful day, the doodler was unleashed, bringing the end of the known world with it

think about the doodler’s acolytes that we saw before episode 13. children being put through life at alarmingly fast rates. a boy willing to do anything no matter how immoral for attention from female classmates. an authority figure pushing societal romantic expectations on children. the vague concept of a corrupt uncaring politician. a direct reflection of yourself.

the doodler was a child when lark saw it. the doodler is a teenager now, and it’s acting just like one.

silly octonauts crossover idea i have

so this is an idea i’ve had for about 2 months now and i’ve been nervous to share it but here is photos to preview it!!! (i will explain my idea afterwards :3)

i call it octoloid!! (thx to my bff 4 helping me with choosing the name :3) basically its a silly silly idea i have of the octopod randomly appearing in my room and the octonauts have no clue where they are, meeting miku (who i interpret as silly and airheaded but rly nice) becoming friends with her and the plot being like a slice of life/comedy!!! i imagined it like a silly webcomic i’d draw and with irl pics of me posing the figures together :D

if u think that sounds strange that’s understandable!!! but i’ve made plenty of ideas for this (that i wish i could make into comics but cant cuz art not skilled enough) and maybe if i share a bit more about it it’ll be a bit cool

i’ve made plenty of doodles and ideas and a few photos and i wanna know if you guys are interested in this idea and if i should keep posting about it (feedback is very encouraged ^_^)

[just venting a bit into the void you understand you understand 😌] Lately I've been feeling very caught between "I have a lot of thoughts on Sparrow and Normal and all that with the ending and teen talk and feel like I need to get them out and voice them for my own piece of mind and resolution" and "I am lacking the strength and energy to actually sit down and write it all out and kind of really just want to fully move on to other things (AUs, fics, anything else)" but my brain can't seem to commit to either and that's quite frustrating cause it's just left me very restless. *Sigh*. Idk! Just needed to complain about that a bit ig, it's silly but this is what has been ailing me as of late.

#Then there's also a part of me that's like “does anyone even care at this point? haven't I already talked about them too much?” #but I have seen many a take that irk me... #and perhaps at the center of it all nagging at me is that persistent conflation of love and pride #Less about that in Normal's mind so much as in Will's and the fandom's 🤔 #Also that reoccurring issue of the fandom going ''Normal thinks this therefore it is The Truth'' though I believe I've discussed this befor #And... Hooks Will could have grabbed onto but didn't... Quite a few of those... #And the double standard/negativity bias in fandom of ignoring that Sparrow says both that he loves and likes Normal while doodlerized #But not treating those with the same legitimacy we do the pride thing. And ignoring Sparrow's demonstrations of love and change... #And what the love wolf scene actually implies about Sparrow (as I see it) with his own explanation of the pride thing in mind #But also!!! Also on Norm's epilogue and how despite everything taken at face value (i.e. no teen talk influence) I don't actually hate it #and I think it's plenty salvageable #And gah also that like *regardless* of how things turn out with Normal and his dad- #Well I haven't listened to much of the teen talk just the directly Sparrow-relevant clips #so I don't know quite how cynical Will is or isn't about Normal's future #But like. UGH. What I'm trying to say is even if things didn't find resolution vis-a-vis his dad #(which tbh I could go either way on- it's the meta misinterpretations of Sparrow that Bother me not so much Normal's) #(Well that's complicated. Again it comes back to the love vs. pride thing gosh this is so vague of me lol) #With all the positive influences in his life (and just the fact that life is long? and therapy is a thing?) I just don't see Normal- #being Miserable for the rest of his life. Like.
